I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

What's Good for the Goose

Our outside temp is 30 (F). The forecast is for a high today in the low 60s (F), which would mean a 30 + degree increase in the next 10 hours or so.  That's big.  We're moving into a rather significant warming trend.  By Tuesday our high temps will be in the low 80s (F).  This is rather unusual.  In the past, we've had warming trends in early Spring, but they rarely got this warm.  There are a lot of people out there who are going to jump to conclusions and think that these days of summer-like heat portend to a very hot summer.  Only time will tell.

I worked yesterday and because we are celebrating our Success Sharing (and bonus checks) there was food galore.  Catered by Carraba's Italian Grill, we were served, pasta, pasta, and more pasta, with grilled chicken.  One of the deserts was mini cheesecakes.  Delicious.  I grazed a bit, but not a lot.  I'm still watching what I eat because of the extraction... oh, wait, do you really think a little hole in my gum is going to slow me down.  Today they are serving us breakfast all day, and custom made sundaes for desert.  I'm just hoping I don't break the scale tomorrow morning.

Retail wise, I sold and install that was set up online, that means I'll get some of the credit.  I got a interior shutter lead, as well as a blind measure.  I should be set for the week.  If not... well, it's not going to bother me too much, after all, we have breakfast all day today.

Of course, yesterday there were No Kings marches all over the country.  In Harrisburg, our local Fox station WPMT 43 was live.  Yes, I said Fox.  Social media was flooded with pictures and videos.  This was not a small gathering of people stomping their feet.  This was big.  One of my Navy buddy's wife, June, was at the march in Ellington, CT, and posted a lot of pics.  I liked this one:

I'm hearing rumblings that many of the idiots Orangie has surrounded himself by are scared that they're going to be put on trial once his administration is over.  I believe these trials will happen much sooner than that.  I also believe these arrests will extend far beyond his cronies and sycophants.  Individuals like James Comer, and Jim Jordan, why even Mikey Johnson will either have to flee, or spend time in the Big House.  I wouldn't be surprised if so many of them run they will create a vacuum that will suck many MAGA cultists with them to some god forsaken land, where they will be treated the same way they love to treat immigrants.  You know what they say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

MAGA Attack

Outside, our temperature is 64 (F) and the skies a blazing with morning sunshine.  Yesterday, the temps did climb up into the mid 80s (F) and while that's not unusual for this time of year, I do think all these days of 80 (F) temps are more than a little foreshadowing for the approaching climate change.  I am curious as to how warm we stay this coming winter.  Last February and March were cold, will this year be a repeat, or will we go back to the warmer winters we've been having over the past several years.

Work yesterday was slow.  There was plenty of food since it was the last day of our bonus weekend.  I don't doubt that there will be leftovers waiting in our lunchroom this afternoon when I punch in.  Surprisingly, I didn't graze as much as I usually do, perhaps because I was saving room for desert.  There was ice cream.  I had a vanilla ice cream sundae with fudge brownies and chocolate syrup.  Scrumptious.  I had thought of getting a banana split but then, once I saw how large they were decided against it.

Of course, most of social media was talking about the Maga Attack on the church in Michigan.

For anyone not living in this country, any vehicle driving around with two American flags attached is the definition of Ultra MAGA, a person so deep into Orangie's cult that reality is barely a faded memory.  Last night Orangie spit out some sort of trash about there being "another attack on a Christian church."  That's pure and simple horseshit.  While his tweet might get some to nod their heads in agreement, I can tell you that the super vast majority of MAGA cultists do not seem Mormons as being Christian.  I work with an associate who has ridiculed and mocked Mormons.  This was not an attack on a Christian church, this was a MAGA attack on religion in America, on the diversity of Faith many Americans hold dear.

In fact, the only thing that stopped the MAGA cheering was the announcement that Bad Bunny was going to be the Super Bowl Halftime Show.  Holy Crap!  Not only is Bad Bunny Puerto Rican, and if that wasn't enough to rattle every MAGA heart in America, he also sings in Spanish.  The instant the announcement was made, their attacks began.

The Quickie

Outside it's sunny, temps are still in the mid 30s (F) but they'll be climbing up into the low to mid 50s (F) by this afternoon.  Looking at the long range forecast, it looks as though we are past our final freeze of the season.  While overnight temps drop into the mid 30s (F), there no indication that they'll drop cold cold enough to trigger a killing frost.

Yesterday, the store was so... boring.  The only bright spot was the food.  We're celebrating our Success Sharing.  The bonus checks were small, but they spent a lot on food.  So much so, that today I'll get dessert several times, and not just the traditional ice cream.  There were pies, and cakes, and cheesecakes, and all sorts of scrumptious morsels that kill cholesterol and add pounds.  Of course, an offshoot of my recent stress has been binge eating, snacky things; the sort of foods I usually tend to avoid.  And I have gained weight, about 5 pounds.  Since there are going to be leftover goodies this morning and afternoon, the exercise and diet plan begins tomorrow.  I want to be sleek for the Greeks.

I also bought a new suitcase and a new backpack (one big enough to carry one of my laptops).  They should be arriving today.  I went with red.  My most favorite color in the world, for those who didn't know.

And the Orange Anus goes to court today... again.  He's going to find out if he can wiggle out of his Stormy trial, because of the additional documents  the DOJ forget to give his team.  I'm hoping the judge nixes that idea, I really do think America needs to see the Orange Anus in Explosive Diarrhea Mode.

The fallout NBC has gotten from their hiring of Rhona McDaniel Romney.. ( of wait, she dropped the Romney, does that mean she got a divorce?) has been... interesting.  Suddenly the network is blurting out snippets and blurbs saying she's not going to be an on-air personality.  People are wondering just what they were thinking.  Perhaps they desperately wanted a $300,000 tax write-off.

Today is also the day when New York begins the takeover of Trump properties.  I have to admit that I'm with that group who wants to see them take his private jet, the Flying Trump Dump, or whatever he calls it.

I will not ruin my sausage

So, it's day number 4 in my 5 day work week and, unfortunately, I had read my schedule wrong.  It's Monday that's one, lone, single day off before I have to work another 5 days straight.  Of course, after that it's 3 off work for before I have another mini-vacation.  Anything over 3 days off counts as a mini-vacation in my books.  Three day weekends?  They're just 3 day weekends.

I turned off my calorie counting for this most of this week because of our Success Sharing celebration.  We are being inundated with food and being a grazer, that counting calories simply doesn't work in times like these.  Yesterday we had Wendy's breakfast sandwiches all day.... let me repeat that, all day.  Their sausage and egg sandwiches were great.  I wasn't to wild about the chicken, while there was bacon, the chicken tasted honey dipped.  Not for me.  Some might find this surprising, but I don't like sweet meat.  When I go out for breakfast, my pancakes are always ordered as a side; ain't no way I'm dipping my sausage in syrup.

This is how you ruin a good sausage

And the white supremacist governor of Georgia signed a very restrictive voting rights law yesterday.  And, of course, there was an immediate response from America... and it was far from being one of approval.  Those white legislators of Georgia are now playing defense.  And, of course, there have been at least 2 legal challenges.  There will be more.  You see, those legislators want legal challenges.  They are praying this bill gets taken to the Supreme Court, where they believe the Conservatives will approve of the racism.  That's not going to happen.  It will be overturned by a lower court and the Supreme Court isn't going to touch it.  They will sit on it for a while, the way they've done with the gerrymandering cases, and then send it back saying it is something the state needs to fix.  Or, as in the Pennsylvania case where the State Supreme Court said the Republican gerrymandered map needed to be fixed, they will simply sit back and say the decision has already been made.  Oh, and this will take time.  The Maryland and North Carolina challenges took a number of years.  The Georgia racism is not going to be fast-tracked, so no matter how badly those legislators want to dip their sausages in the syrup, it ain't going to happen soon.
