Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

What's Good for the Goose

Our outside temp is 30 (F). The forecast is for a high today in the low 60s (F), which would mean a 30 + degree increase in the next 10 hours or so.  That's big.  We're moving into a rather significant warming trend.  By Tuesday our high temps will be in the low 80s (F).  This is rather unusual.  In the past, we've had warming trends in early Spring, but they rarely got this warm.  There are a lot of people out there who are going to jump to conclusions and think that these days of summer-like heat portend to a very hot summer.  Only time will tell.

I worked yesterday and because we are celebrating our Success Sharing (and bonus checks) there was food galore.  Catered by Carraba's Italian Grill, we were served, pasta, pasta, and more pasta, with grilled chicken.  One of the deserts was mini cheesecakes.  Delicious.  I grazed a bit, but not a lot.  I'm still watching what I eat because of the extraction... oh, wait, do you really think a little hole in my gum is going to slow me down.  Today they are serving us breakfast all day, and custom made sundaes for desert.  I'm just hoping I don't break the scale tomorrow morning.

Retail wise, I sold and install that was set up online, that means I'll get some of the credit.  I got a interior shutter lead, as well as a blind measure.  I should be set for the week.  If not... well, it's not going to bother me too much, after all, we have breakfast all day today.

Of course, yesterday there were No Kings marches all over the country.  In Harrisburg, our local Fox station WPMT 43 was live.  Yes, I said Fox.  Social media was flooded with pictures and videos.  This was not a small gathering of people stomping their feet.  This was big.  One of my Navy buddy's wife, June, was at the march in Ellington, CT, and posted a lot of pics.  I liked this one:

I'm hearing rumblings that many of the idiots Orangie has surrounded himself by are scared that they're going to be put on trial once his administration is over.  I believe these trials will happen much sooner than that.  I also believe these arrests will extend far beyond his cronies and sycophants.  Individuals like James Comer, and Jim Jordan, why even Mikey Johnson will either have to flee, or spend time in the Big House.  I wouldn't be surprised if so many of them run they will create a vacuum that will suck many MAGA cultists with them to some god forsaken land, where they will be treated the same way they love to treat immigrants.  You know what they say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

The Same as it ever was

We're in for another steamy day here in Central PA, though by steamy I actually mean warm. Upper 80s (F) is what they're forecasting.  Tomorrow, too, though tomorrow's high might be a record breaker.  They had predicted showers yesterday, but that never happened.  We had a lot of wind around 7ish last evening, but that's about it.

I cut a few branches out of my one river birch tree yesterday and was going to weed wack the outside of my fence, except the wacker battery wasn't charged.  Now it's charged, yesterday it was sitting on a shelf on my back porch.  Because I'm working today and tomorrow afternoon, the wacking will have to wait until Friday.  Rain is predicted to arrive in the area, but not until this weekend.

Are the extra hours at work effecting me?  Ehhh, not really.  I was, as my grandma would say, "nappy," yesterday, but I still managed to get in a 10 mile bike ride.  Oh, and I put the small window A/C unit in the exercise room.  That will keep the room from smelling like a locker room later on this summer.

I'm going to be making a Greek cheese pie with phyllo later on this morning, except I'm thinking of adding a layer of slice tomatoes.  I guess that would mean it isn't completely Greek.

The Body in Motion is now available for purchase!

An amusing thing about myself and how I prioritize my time, is that when I'm not working, I spend less time on my phone, and the lest time I spend with my phone, the frequency I'm looking at social media drops.  So, what happened yesterday?  Well, there was a special election in New York (?) in which one Democrat replaced another.  The Democrats said they would keep Mike Johnson from being fired by the far right, no doubt because he's realized Democracy depends upon compromise.  Trump was in court again.  There are a lot of bad pictures of him heading into the courthouse.  As usual, he spouts his standard whine whenever he gets a chance.

Oh, here's biggy.  Hunter Biden's going to sue Fox.  Will that tabloid media group ever learn?  Absolutely not.  It's the same as it ever was.

When it Rains

Hello Friday morning. The temps are only so supposed to hit the low to mid 80's (F) which is nice.  Ain't it damn shame I have to work, especially when NOAA is projecting temps for this area to be 10 -15 degrees hotter then normal.  Or maybe I should say, this is the new normal.  What ever the case, I'm wondering if the rains are going to cease as well so things will be able to dry out.  Right now it looks we're supposed to have soaking rains on Sunday.

Yesterday was slow at work.  I sold one measure.  We have 2 weeks left in this year's fiscal half and we're doing almost as well as last year.  Looking at our figures, it's difficult to believe some people are saying the economy's in trouble.

I gave Biggie a boost up onto the bed the other night and strained something, so I've pulled out the heating pad.  It works really well to loosen up the tight muscles circling my left buttock. ... Is that too much information?  I took this picture of the dogs on the futon when I was on vacation last week.  I'm thinking of calling it "The Epitome of Boredom."  By the way, you can see an original vinyl recording of Les Parapluies de Cherbourg which I bought several decades ago.

Why did I decide to learn French?  It was this album, and this movie.  Here's a clip with the ever beautiful Catherine Deneuve.  My French is not that good anymore, but that's how life moves on.

Oh, and I saw some sort of blurbing headline that Ronnie Johnson says he may not be the best candidate for Wisconsin in 2022.  I didn't read the article since this man is so full of shit.
