Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Drowning in a Sea of Roses

Well, it's Saturday and the sun is out... for the time being.  Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and this evening.  Tomorrow things are supposed to be cooler.  Actually yesterday wasn't that hot, 88 F.  Hot happens when the temps soar into the upper 90's.
Walking out my backdoor this morning, I had no problem in smelling my roses.  There are lots of them.  This will pass though, only to be repeated in a month or sow.  I usually get 3 bloomings per summer.  Right now, you could say, I'm drowning in a sea of Roses.

The red antique roses were an accident... the bush just started growing
And I must say, the perfume of blooming roses is much more preferable than the stench oozing up from Washington.  Of course the Idiot Jerk in the White House tweeted out jobs info early because... well, he needed to feed his ego.  And, perhaps, rather illegally let investors know yesterday was going to be a good day to buy... sort of honor among scumbags.
I know there are conservatives out there who are upset that Mueller's investigation has cost over $16 million so far.  Funny, they had no problem spending $8 million to investigate Benghazi.  Interesting how easily they justify money spent for their political benefit.  Interesting, also, is how Trey Gowdy, the leader of the Benghazi witch hunt is telling them to shut up, to leave Mueller alone.  Mr. Gowdy knows full well the difference between a witch hunt and a serious investigation.  He no doubt understands the corruption brought to the White House by the Idiot Jerk is on the verge of boiling over, splattering democracy with an unhealthy spray of shit.
My vacation begins on 6/11, and I've already started planning things to be done.  One of those is to take out the wisteria pushes around my front porch.  This is the 2nd year where they failed to bloom.  There was a time when the front of the house was awash with purple flowers.  Those days started disappearing a couple of years ago.  That will be a chore.  I will probably put in more roses... maybe a red climber to weave among the wrought iron railings.

The Republican Jobs Dilemma

I always have to laugh when I hear Republicans, especially Trump, say they are going to bring jobs back to America.  I suspect, that those people they are talking to don't realize jobs go overseas not because foreign workers are better, but because they are cheaper.  Lower payroll, you know?  In fact Ford is going to start building their smaller cars in Mexico.  I'm sure that pisses off the Trumplodites since they believe the absolute worst when it comes to Mexicans.  These people don't seem to realize prices will have to go up, up, and up if jobs come back.  American's demand higher pay.  And it's even funnier when you understand how much the Republican Party hates Unions.  Trumplodites can't even begin to grasp the idea that Unions are responsible for the higher pay rates their members get.  That without Unions everybody would be getting paid the Minimum Wage.

So, how do the Republicans usually handle this dilemma?  They get themselves in office and then either totally ignore their promises, or they blame the Democrats.  You see, they're very good at blaming and ignoring.

On a lighter note, Big Seig ate a bar of strawberry soap yesterday... now his breath is berry sweet.

Why aren't companies hiring?

The Democratic Convention is in full swing and I'm not watching it.  Even though I'm a registered Democrat when casting my ballot I'm Independent, you know, those people Republicans try cater to but really don't like.  Both parties say they know how to create jobs.  Here's a little tidbit about why companies aren't hiring.  Of course this isn't news.  Any American with average intelligence should have figured this out a long time ago.  What we have is an employers economy, one in which employers make all of the rules.  If your productivity dips they'll can you and hire someone who keep up with the pace they demand.  As long as the money keeps piling up in their bank accounts nothing is going to change.  If they can get twice the work out of two employees why should they hire a third?  Jobs aren't being created because they aren't worth the expense.  All tax breaks do is put more money to their bottom line.  Oh, sure, at some point down the line they will hire that third employee, but not until it is absolutely necessary, not until they've worked their employees to the bone.  When that will be is anyone's guess.  One thing is certain, Wall Street is doing just fine with the unemployment rate as high as it is.  Recovery is going to continue to be slow and nothing is going to speed it up.
