Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Dueling Fascists

So, I hope everyone is having an enjoyable, relaxing Sunday.  I am, but then I don't have to work today.  Downstairs, Alexa is playing Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.  For those interested, I was introduced to Stravinsky at at Yes concert in 1973.  Yes does not use a warm-up act when they tour.  Most often they have used Stravinsky played very loudly.

One thing I will not miss from summer is the mosquitos.  I don't know if it's because the Susquehanna river is only 3/4 mile away or not.  But every summer we seem to swarmed with mosquitos.  My neighbor across the street is constantly burning punk sticks to keep them at bay.  I prefer citronella candles, bot inside and outside the house.

I picked up my new flooring yesterday when I left work.  4 boxes should do the trick.  I'm going with a marble look that has a bit of a shine.  Hopefully, since this only a walk-in closet (62 sq ft) installation should happen fast.  Needless to say, I will have to spend sometime down on my knees (can you hear them creaking, yet?).

One of the things I used to do on Twitter was call out the liars.  Twitter didn't like that, said it sounded threatening.  So, I've changed words to something less hostile.  Now, when Jim Jordan, or Ronna McDaniel (?) spit some fresh turd at the public, I simply type 'horseshit.'  Innocent, yet truthful.

And, evidently, Trump had a rally in Ohio yesterday?  I understand he called for the death penalty for human traffickers, you know, like Ronnie DeSantis?  Notice the subtle dig at Ronnie?  He's terrified Ronnie's going to become more popular.  Ronnie's soon going to be fighting back.  Just wait for it, dueling fascists, each trying to be more extreme than the other.  This is how you destroy a political party, from within.

She didn't think

Well, let's give a cheery hello to Friday, aka Thursday if you're working my schedule.  This means I get to go to work today and tomorrow, followed by what seems to be my regular weekend, at least for the next 2 weeks.  After that my weekend moves to Monday and Tuesday for 2 weekends.  Two weeks after that I go part-time.

My eye exam went well.  In fact, yesterday was just a quick in and out to check my eye pressure and vision.  Wearing my glasses, I am better then 20 / 20, which is odd since personally, I don't think I see that well.  All the testing and the dilation will happen on March 3, 2022.

With my back issues, I find mornings are the only time things can be painfully bad.  A full 45 minutes with a heating pad is needed to sooth away the night's stiffness.  After that, everything is pretty much ducky dandy.  Heating pads have become my 'go to' friends.  I have 2, one upstairs and the other downstairs.  I've also ordered a portable one to take to work for those long afternoons.  It should be arriving Saturday.  Not a lot of meds here.  In fact, if there were a way to strap a heating pad on while I sleep, I'm sure mornings would be no problem.

The water in the basement is gone.  My house rests on a 116 year old stone foundation.  During heavy rains, the water rushes in from the back while slowly draining out of the front.  I do have a pump should I need one, but that's rarely been the case.  What I really need, in fact, what everybody in this area needs is no more rain.  Damn.  The rain never seems to end.  Nothing has a chance to dry out.  As a result, we are living in mosquito hell.  They are everywhere.  So much so, I've bought a Citronella candle to keep them away.

And what about that whining Susan Collins from Maine?  I saw she spit out a bit of shit yesterday regarding her vote for Kavanaugh.  She actually said the 3 most damning words a politician can say "I didn't think," of course she attempted to define those words in regard to his vote on the Texas abortion law.  The truth is that she didn't think then, she doesn't think now.  She's a Republican Party girl, a Conservative wolf dressed in Centrist Sheep clothing.  She didn't think.  She voted  for confirmation, the way her party wanted.  Now, Susan knows that she's in trouble if the voters do what she failed to do... think.  She knows quite well that the people of Maine are going to remember her inability to think the next time they go to the polls.

Little Suckers

Silly me, I forgot to mention it's The Weekend.   That's for all of you who have a 5 day work week.  Since I work 4 days this week, my Hump Moment will happen around 0300, and I'm going to celebrate it by sleeping.

We had another torrential downpour yesterday while I was at work.  Mosquitos are becoming rather prevalent.  Last year people in my neighborhood had a bit of a problem with the little bastards.  Some blamed it on being so close to the river, barely a mile as the crow flies.  They overlook the fact that we have a small park less then a quarter mile away that has sitting water.  I know, I've walked the dogs there.  I'm thinking that's where most of the little suckers come from.

Today the weather's supposed to nice and sunny, though tomorrow they're forecasting more thunderstorms.  From July to mid-September we tend to be dry, last year that changed and we were wetter then normal.  This year's looking to be similar to last year.  This might be a pre-cursor as to what Global Warming is going to do to the region, possibly turn us into a rain forest.

Republicans are desperately trying to find something they can use to attack Biden, and failing miserably.  This is not surprising when you look at lack of morals, and ethics, and values they represent.  For years they tried to represent themselves as the part of family values, but then they put the Spawn of Satan in the White House and lied like hell to keep his evil ass in power.  The truth is they're just like mosquitos, desperately trying to drain the lifeblood of America in their attempt to stay in power.  What a shame we can't simply build a big MAGA zapper.

Dana Milbank's opinion of Mitch McConnell published in the Washington Post is quite interesting.  I will tell you, though, the title "Mitch McConnell is naked and afraid" created such a frightening vision, I almost didn't read it.  I kept yelling at my eyes, "Look Away!  Look Away!"
