Playing With Fire

It's Sunday morning and 60 (F) outside.  Rain and drizzle is predicted for the entire day.  Accuweather warns that this may impact Father's Day celebrations.  I thought I'd let you know, just in case any of you are fathers.  I don't want you to be disappointed when Mr. Blue Sky stays away.

I worked yesterday and it was boring.  I had to stand at the Lead Table for an hour.  Most associates are scheduled to work it in an attempt to generate leads; a lead is where you try and set a customer up for a free consultation in the hopes of getting them to buy a very expensive installation, like windows or fencing.  Corporate sets a lead generation goal for each store.  I checked.  None of the leads scheduled at the Lead Table sell, still, it does help the store reach its goal, which is all that corporate wants.

Last evening my friend Betsy from York called to cancel our lunch plans for this afternoon, she has a bad cold.  This means I have the day all to myself.  For the first time in a long time I'll be able to get a workout in on a Sunday.

And yesterday the Orange Anus got his military parade.  In his tiny mind he thought this was going to be a huge event.  It failed miserably.  The administration got approval form the Park Service for 250,000 tickets and attendance didn't even come close.  On top of everything that happened this past week, his birthday parade was a monumental catastrophe, and he knew.  This is his pouty/angry face in case you were wondering.

Yesterday was also a day of tragedy with Democrat Melissa Hortman being assassinated by Vance Boelter, who was among other things, an Evangelical Christian Nationalist and huge Trump supporter.  Boelter also murdered Melissa's husband and shot their dog before moving on to two more victims.  Boelter's wife Jenny was pulled over by police who discovered she had a firearm and ammunition in the car, she was, however not arrested.  He rented a room part-time and texted his roommates that he might soon be dead.  Translation:  this sack of shit loser is going to ask God for forgiveness and then commit suicide.  This man is truly a gutless sack of shit.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz canceled the No Kings protests out of concern that others might be injured or killed and in response over 60,000 people showed up at the capital.  Republicans are so out of touch they have no idea they're playing with fire.

  1. Those shootings are sickening and shows the danger of the right under The Felon; he uses violence and now they use violence.

Upside: Apparently Melanie fell asleep during the parade.

  2. Needless to say the tragic news but a damper on the first part of the day, I'm happy to report Harrisburg had a huge turnout for the no Kings protest. We got to city island around 4:00 and it was mobbed. We had to end up parking at my friend's place in Wormleysburg and walk over. The parade after some words then proceeded over Walnut Street Bridge and poured off in riverfront Park from state street down to Shipoke on both sides of front Street. For a while I wondered if the Walnut Street Bridge would hold all the weight. I think it might have been harrisburg's biggest pull in for a protest yet. I feel in the next few months something big is going to happen.

    1. I suspect that something big is going to happen, and the Orange Anus is not going to like it. That look on his face? Pure hatred that America doesn't swoon at his feet.

    2. Had a great time during No Kings Day, drive to Arlington and nearby towns in Maryland and Virginia honking to the crowds. The best was driving through DC blaring the horn of my classic car.
Trump is a vindictive fuck, you best believe he’ll take it out on us.
Wait til his handlers show him the film of his poorly attended parade compared to the millions that showed up at the No King demonstrations. Even cities and towns in red states held them despite threats of crack downs, cause you just know that they know they can only push the American people so far. Of course the magas will say there was violence everywhere and other magas were afraid to attend Trumpy’s parade. Just think a parade that was supposed to honor the US Army and its 250th anniversary had to be perverted and subverted into a vanity display for a despot. One day the dear despot will eventually have his comeuppance.

    3. He is vindictive, and I doubt if his handlers will show him videos of how successful No Kings Day was in fear of bodily harm. And true, they will lie about the size and number of protesters, and main stream media may try and down play it, but local media are covering these protests extensively and that's a good thing.

  3. I read about those two couples being shot. How utterly senseless. I don't know if the Hortmans had children but I cannot even begin to imagine losing both parents at the same time and in such a horrific way!

    1. The assassin has been captured! He was , as you might have seen, a bit Trump supporter.
