I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

What's Good for the Goose

Our outside temp is 30 (F). The forecast is for a high today in the low 60s (F), which would mean a 30 + degree increase in the next 10 hours or so.  That's big.  We're moving into a rather significant warming trend.  By Tuesday our high temps will be in the low 80s (F).  This is rather unusual.  In the past, we've had warming trends in early Spring, but they rarely got this warm.  There are a lot of people out there who are going to jump to conclusions and think that these days of summer-like heat portend to a very hot summer.  Only time will tell.

I worked yesterday and because we are celebrating our Success Sharing (and bonus checks) there was food galore.  Catered by Carraba's Italian Grill, we were served, pasta, pasta, and more pasta, with grilled chicken.  One of the deserts was mini cheesecakes.  Delicious.  I grazed a bit, but not a lot.  I'm still watching what I eat because of the extraction... oh, wait, do you really think a little hole in my gum is going to slow me down.  Today they are serving us breakfast all day, and custom made sundaes for desert.  I'm just hoping I don't break the scale tomorrow morning.

Retail wise, I sold and install that was set up online, that means I'll get some of the credit.  I got a interior shutter lead, as well as a blind measure.  I should be set for the week.  If not... well, it's not going to bother me too much, after all, we have breakfast all day today.

Of course, yesterday there were No Kings marches all over the country.  In Harrisburg, our local Fox station WPMT 43 was live.  Yes, I said Fox.  Social media was flooded with pictures and videos.  This was not a small gathering of people stomping their feet.  This was big.  One of my Navy buddy's wife, June, was at the march in Ellington, CT, and posted a lot of pics.  I liked this one:

I'm hearing rumblings that many of the idiots Orangie has surrounded himself by are scared that they're going to be put on trial once his administration is over.  I believe these trials will happen much sooner than that.  I also believe these arrests will extend far beyond his cronies and sycophants.  Individuals like James Comer, and Jim Jordan, why even Mikey Johnson will either have to flee, or spend time in the Big House.  I wouldn't be surprised if so many of them run they will create a vacuum that will suck many MAGA cultists with them to some god forsaken land, where they will be treated the same way they love to treat immigrants.  You know what they say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Spikes

Good morning.  We have a chilly start to Central PA's No Kings Day!  Temps are predicted to be in the mid to upper 40s (F), so it will be brisk, but there will be abundant sunshine for all.  Our temps have begun a climbing stage and by Tuesday our afternoon high will be in the low 80s (F).  Sorry, that's summertime weather and way to warm for very early April.  When I sit and think about this forecast, I wonder how high temps will be in June, July, and August if we're getting heat spikes like this so early in Spring.

Yesterday I had lunch with my cousin and her husband.  I enjoy these get togethers.  She is 3 months older and than me.  That makes her the first born grandchild.  However, I was the first boy born, and back than boy babies were more important than girl babies.  This doesn't mean the problem doesn't still exist, it does, though it's not as bad, it does, especially among desolate Christians who tend to see girl babies as nothing more than future vessels.

To my surprise, I learned I was part of a class action lawsuit against the great orange retailer I work for, having to do with forcing associates to have testing done during the times of Covid when they were off the clock.  As far as I can remember, this never effected me, ;however I'm still getting part of the settlement.  If approved I'll be getting a whopping $20.82.  Half of that will be included in my gross wages and will be on my W2.  For the other half, I'll be getting a 1099 for tax purposes.  Go figure.

And here's a pic of Howie I took this morning.

And there are No Kings marches planned for today.  One of the headlines in the Washington Posted asked if they will do anything, and I had to laugh.  Since the owner of the WaPo is Jeff Bozos, and he wants as many tax  breaks from the Republican party as possible, he has aligned himself with the Orange Anus.  Expect nothing remotely critical of the current administration from a news agency that was once considered one of the best in the world.

And the House of Representatives thought they'd let Orangie spike the ball in a bid to bring his ratings out of the gutter, and failed.  What did they do?  Well, the Senate passed legislation funding TSA, and FEMA, and a several other groups, in fact everyone except ICE and CBP, and Orangie said he'd sign it.  The House, seeking to glorify their glorious leader, voted this legislation down.  Seconds later Orangie proclaimed that he'd sign an Executive Order to pay the TSA.  However, Orangie doesn't have the authority to do that.  I do not doubt that this administration believed this would resound with Americans and help to improve Orangie's poll numbers.  It didn't.  More and more people are realizing that everything around this fool is a con, so his intended spike failed.

Day 3

Well, we have a warm day ahead of us.  Our high temp for this afternoon should be in the low to mid 70s (F).  Overnight another cold front is going to move through the area which will lead to cooler temps tomorrow.  Rain will move into the area as well.  This is fine.  We are in Spring.

And yesterday was either good or just meh depending upon the time of day.  Exercise is still out of the picture because of the extraction.  So I pretty much lazed through the day, doing laundry and other small chores.  Regarding the laundry, I've moved the drying rack from the laundry room into the bathroom because there's a heating vent there.  This is a good thing in that clothes dry faster, however, it's also a bit of a nuisance thing in that Howie now has an assortment of different clothing to turn into toys.  One of his favorite games is sock chase, followed closely by T-shirt chase.  The only option I have is to keep the bathroom door shut.

Today is the 3rd day since the extraction of tooth 31.  My jaw was achy.  I did a search to see how long this minor discomfort was going to last and was surprised to see that day 3 is usually the worst.  Day 3 is when the swelling is at its peak.  Hhhmmm.  Interesting.  The biggest problem I'm having is not the discomfort, it the loose thread from the stitches.  It feels as if there's a piece of food floating around near the socket and I keep want to move it, and probe it with my tongue.  I find it amusing that the biggest problem I'm having is with a 1/4 inch piece of thread.

The Body in 4:4 Time is finished.  It's getting sent to the first of my editors this morning.  Now the fun begins.

There's a No Kings march/rally this Saturday.  I'm sure numbers will easily be in the millions.

So, evidently Pamie Jo Bondi released information regarding Jack Smith's investigation of Orangie's theft of Secret Documents... accidentally, of course.  We now know the reason he stole them: to sell them for his own personal gain.  When I saw that, my first thought was "no shit, Sherlock."  Why would anyone have thought otherwise?  This loser lives for self-lenrichment.  He has loyalty to only one person, himself.  His corrution has no bounds.  There's a reason many call him Don the Con.  The only thing he finds sacred is his own bank account.

These marches are not going to go over well with the GOP.  Anything that rattles their land of delusion is bad.  The good thing is that so many of them have such short term memory problems these marches will be forgotten, by most, by Monday.  Of course, by Monday Kegbreath may have started a ground invasion in Iraq.  As I've said before, the country has reached an invection point.  There will be no stopping what happens to this administration and the Republican Party.

Climbing the Little Boy Staircase

Well, we still have the drizzles outside.  The temps are also cool.  Currently we're sitting at 52 (F), with an expected high of 65 (F).  That's iffy unless the cloud cover goes away.  We had rain on and off throughout the night.  That's fine.  We needed it.  The big surprise will be if the temps climb up into the low 70s (F) tomorrow, before dropping off.  I'm skeptical.

I did work yesterday.  The store was somewhat busy.  Flooring made plan, mostly because I sold a very large install, not my measure, of course, so even though I had to make changes, I get no credit.  This wasn't the case until they updated the software a few years back. There was a time when making changes to a quote earned you some of the credit.  Not anymore.  This means that an associate can spend 5 minutes with a customer processing the measure and another associate can spend an hour and a half with that same customer with out getting any of the sales recognition.  None of us are happy about this.

Otherwise the day was very slow.  Most of my time was spent getting in laps and checking out social media on my phone.  Oh, and eating that crappy pizza management bought from Wegman's Grocery.  Had we been busier, I'd have spent less time grazing.

I made a shrimp stir-fry the other night.  It was very tasty.

Isn't it fascinating how things, like numbers, can change as minutes and hours slip into the past.  Updates happen.  The occurred when the government used to release the monthly jobs report.  Sometimes there were revisions down, especially during this administration, and occasionally they'd be adjusted up, as under Biden's presidency.  Well, that same thing is happening with the No Kings day stats.  Original numbers were around 7 million, then they edged up to 7.5 million, and now 2 days after the peaceful demonstrations, they're saying the actual numbers are probably over 8 million, maybe even as high as 8.5 million.  You can bet that number's sticking in a lot of Republican craws.  While his approval rating continues in a slow, death spiral, more and more Americans are simply getting fed up with all of his lies.

I don't know how many people heard, but supposedly Orangie's Secret Service supposedly discovered a hunting stand near the Palm Beach Airport.  As a result, Orangie used the "small staircase" when it came time to get into Air Force 1.  My take is that's PR nonsense.  I'm betting his 79 year-old legs, cankles and all, simply have problems going up the big boy staircase.  This excuse takes that long climb out of his agenda.  The question remains to be seen if this is the excuse he'll use at every airport.

Tip of the Iceberg

Our outside temp was 52 (F) this morning.  Not cold, but chilly.  Weather forecasters are telling us that the temps should actually climb into the mid 70s (F) before the temps go downhill.  Gusty winds, storms and thunderstorms are supposed to be on their way into the area.  By mid-week, our daily highs are predicted to be in the upper 50s (F).  Looking out my window, I can tell you that the leaves on the trees surrounding my house are still green.

While so many were out peacefully demonstrating at the No Kings rallies, I was getting paid to sit at the flooring desk.  My request off had been denied because too many others had requested off, not necessarily to go to the rallies; a lot of people don't like to work on weekends.  This includes associates in my department who desperately want to work a 5 day work week that doesn't include either a Saturday or a Sunday.  So, while so many others were out defending democracy, I was sitting by my lonesome scrolling through Threads.

Harrisburg had a goodly sized gathering with the estimated size at 3750.

With nearly 7 million peaceful demonstrators, this was by far the largest demonstrations in American history.  I find it fascinating that so far, the only reports of arrests being made, have ben of MAGA cultists pulling guns and aiming them at the demonstrators.  They don't even understand how this defines their idiocy.

And the crowning stupidity yesterday was Orangie releasing an AI video in which he, wearing a crown, flies a plane over American cities dropping  shit on the demonstrators below.  His juvenile attempt at mockery fails so badly, though I'm sure some of his brain dead followers found it terribly funny.  They don't seem to understand that they are a shrinking minority.    They had no clue that we are the tip of the iceberg.

The World is Watching

Good morning world. Outside temps are in the low 50s (F) with a projected high to be in the low 70s (F) with full on sunshine.  Today's going to be a perfect day for a peaceful rally here in Central PA.  The weather will change towards the end of the weekend.  Some forecasts are predicting an inch of rain on Monday.  We need the rain.

Yesterday was a good day when it came to getting things done.  The 2 aquariums were cleaned and I painted more of wainscoting in the bathroom.  I will be finished with that soon.  After that I will move on to bedroom doors and freshen them up.  A few years back, when I was running the paint department, one of associates was from India.  He and I got to talking about, of all things, painting, and I was surprised when he told me that in his culture people rarely repainted rooms.  He told me that if there's a hole, or scratch, or scrap, they will simply patch it and just touch the area up, and I thought their walls must be spotty as hell since time changes everything.

Trainwell is making changes to their app.  Now you'll be able to move your workouts around, change the times, or only do certain exercises.  This is all starting Monday.  I'm wondering, hoping they're not moving to some sort of AI format.  That would probably not be good for the people they hire to be trainers.

My sister told me that my brother in law came home from work on Wednesday and told her he'd retired.  This was rather abrupt.  Originally, he was supposed to work until December, and then go part-time for a while.  He managed dry wall installations, and she'd also told me there wasn't a lot of work and that he'd said "people were just standing around."  That's a wasted payroll expense.  I don't doubt that America's sinking economy is to blame.

And, of course, today is the 2nd No Kings Day.

The world is watching.  A bold statement is being sent the the Conservatives in power, one they simply cannot believe:  No one wants an authoritarian government in America.  I've said this before, these people are delusional.  They truly believe that all they need to do is shout out "shut up, we're in charge," and Americans will simply accept this as true.  These people are idiots.  Not only are they idiots, they are a minority group.  Their small numbers need to be taught a painful lesson.  No matter how badly they want to dictate how we live our lives, they are not in charge.  By voting, Americans hire them for a period of time.  This means they can also be fired.  Because they are incapable of reading the room, the firings are going to commence.

Wanna See My Sword

Golly, it's a little chilly outside with temps in the mid 40s (F).  The forecasters are saying that over the next to days we might have a bit of a super mini heat wave with our daily highs climbing up into the low 70s (F).  However, there's also rain in the forecast.  After the upcoming warm spell, daily highs are predicted to be in the upper 50s (F).  It's almost time to pull out the wool blankets.

Yesterday was a rest day, not workout, not bike ride.  Today I have a bike ride, all I have to do is decide where in the world it's going to be.  One place I plan to avoid is South Korea.  Their rides are a lot like the rides in Kansas: boring.

I also worked yesterday.  I sold 2 quotes, neither of which was mine.  Flooring made plan in a big way, the store might have, but if it did, it didn't change the fact that it was underwater for the week.  Will it change?  I doubt it.

So, Boots got some free publicity when someone from the Department of Defense called Entertainment Weekly to complain about the show, saying it was "woke garbage."  Petey Hegseth has evidently never heard of the Spartans, though for some weird reason it's rather easy for me to picture him running around a drunken frat party wearing only a teeny, tiny toga, and shouting "wanna see my sword!"

And the Toy of the Year award goes to the Pupsicle.  Howie simply loves it!  And I've figure out how I can throw it without it sounding like a brick is hitting the floor.

And tomorrow, all across the country, there are going to be No Kings rallies.  They are going to be huge.  So huge, in fact, that the GOP is pulling out all of the stops in the organ of hate.  They are putting every group they hate under that umbrella including Black Lives Matter, Pro Palestine, Pro Hamas, Marxist, Fascist, and that one group that doesn't exist, Antifa, together.  They realize that the numbers are going to be that high, that there are so many anti-Trumpers in this country they might actually run out of classifying categories.  Orangie's people are scared.  You see, they truly believed that all they had to do was say "shut up, we're in charge," and America would cowl before them.  Wrong.  They are rattled!  They're terrified that America is going to grab that rattle and shake the Hell out of it.

Celebrating our first No Kings Day

The weather for today is supposed to be very nice, temps in the mid 80s (F), no clouds, the perfect day for a holiday.  Hhmm.

I never work on Fridays, though the store is open today.  I will get holiday pay, which is nice.  I am going to zip over to Giant after I post this because I need juice, and a couple of other things.

As far as plans go, well, for me today is just like any other day.  I'll get a upper body workout in.

The Tour de France starts today, though I got rid of my Peacock.  So, I might have to sign up for another month.  Maybe I'll get a trial month free, that would be nice.

For those who don't know, July 4 celebrates are Independence, the day we broke away from the British Empire.  It is the original No Kings Day.  Unfortunately for us in America, we now have a moral degenerate in the White House who is trying to be a king, or worse, a dictator.  Many conservatives have no problem with either of those two.  They believe that's the only way they can force their will upon the people.  They will find out they are wrong.

This was the largest transfer of wealth from the lower and middle classes to the upper class in America's history.  Billionaires are neither benevolent or beneficent, but the really do want you to be beholding to them.

The Guardian said that this piece of legislation might give America a brief sugar high, but there was no stopping the down days.  The great orange retailer I work for said they were not going to raise prices because of the tariffs; that was a lie.  You should see the prices on our carpet and our mosaic tile.  Where prices haven't gone up, holes are appearing.  This is happening all across the country, and those billionaires?  They don't give a shit.

Playing With Fire

It's Sunday morning and 60 (F) outside.  Rain and drizzle is predicted for the entire day.  Accuweather warns that this may impact Father's Day celebrations.  I thought I'd let you know, just in case any of you are fathers.  I don't want you to be disappointed when Mr. Blue Sky stays away.

I worked yesterday and it was boring.  I had to stand at the Lead Table for an hour.  Most associates are scheduled to work it in an attempt to generate leads; a lead is where you try and set a customer up for a free consultation in the hopes of getting them to buy a very expensive installation, like windows or fencing.  Corporate sets a lead generation goal for each store.  I checked.  None of the leads scheduled at the Lead Table sell, still, it does help the store reach its goal, which is all that corporate wants.

Last evening my friend Betsy from York called to cancel our lunch plans for this afternoon, she has a bad cold.  This means I have the day all to myself.  For the first time in a long time I'll be able to get a workout in on a Sunday.

And yesterday the Orange Anus got his military parade.  In his tiny mind he thought this was going to be a huge event.  It failed miserably.  The administration got approval form the Park Service for 250,000 tickets and attendance didn't even come close.  On top of everything that happened this past week, his birthday parade was a monumental catastrophe, and he knew.  This is his pouty/angry face in case you were wondering.

Yesterday was also a day of tragedy with Democrat Melissa Hortman being assassinated by Vance Boelter, who was among other things, an Evangelical Christian Nationalist and huge Trump supporter.  Boelter also murdered Melissa's husband and shot their dog before moving on to two more victims.  Boelter's wife Jenny was pulled over by police who discovered she had a firearm and ammunition in the car, she was, however not arrested.  He rented a room part-time and texted his roommates that he might soon be dead.  Translation:  this sack of shit loser is going to ask God for forgiveness and then commit suicide.  This man is truly a gutless sack of shit.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz canceled the No Kings protests out of concern that others might be injured or killed and in response over 60,000 people showed up at the capital.  Republicans are so out of touch they have no idea they're playing with fire.

No Kings Day

Well, here we are on Saturday and we have drizzles that are expected to continue on and off all day.  That's fine with me because I have to work.  According to Accuweather, Central PA isn't going to see any change in this pattern until Tuesday.  This is not a very auspicious beginning to the summer season, but by no means can you say that we're going to have a cool, dreary summer.

Even though much was accomplished yesterday, it still feels like one of those meh days.  The backyard was mowed (it looks nice now), laundry was done, and the big aquarium was cleaned.  I also washed the dishes by hand.  Still, I didn't write and I didn't get either a ride, row, or workout in.  I did feel like taking lots of naps, and around 3:30 ish my nose began to run.  The drainage was constant for a few hours, so I'm thinking I probably had a cold.  That is usually the extent of my symptoms when I do get a cold, though yesterday I wanted to take lots of naps as well.  Maybe it's an age thing.

I did finally get a chance to watch some episodes of Mid-Century Modern.  It's very funny.  There is only one problem, it has a laugh track.  Sorry, I don't need canned laughter to tell me something is funny, or to make me laugh.  The show would be so much better if they simply just... canned the fake laughter.

And I did order the T-Mobile internet yesterday morning.  My FIOS will be canceled once it arrives and is set up.

And this is a No Kings Day.

We all know the drill.  The peaceful protests are growing in size and number. And Orangie's approval rating?  It's now negative numbers all around.  The one area where he was at the break even point was immigration, and now that down by 2 points.  Americans don't like what he's doing in Los Angeles.  Americans don't like ICE wearing masks. And while I don't have any solid facts, I'm certain that a large majority of Americans don't like Cosplay Kristi, the puppy killer.  That woman is despicable.

As the Orange Anus continues to fail, the protests will continue to grow.  This is not what either Republicans or Conservatives want.  It makes them very angry, so prepare yourselves, they will strike out.

And, of course Israel and Iran are now at war with each other.  Tucker Carlson, one of Putin's American mouthpieces said this will cause Americans to loose their lives.  This means Vlad's pissed, he's good buddies with Iran.  His puppet, the Orange Anus is falling down on the job.  He, of all people, should have realized how incompetent the Orange Anus truly is.  This growing war in the Middle East is going to further erode Orangie's ratings.  Good.

Power to the People

So, it's Easter Sunday, an important religious day for many that is not a national holiday.  Our blue competitor is closed today.  Outside, the weather is comfortably breezy... well, actually it's windy.  The temps are in the low 60s (F) and will get a bit warmer.  Afternoon highs are predicted to be in the low 70s (F), tomorrow, the high temps will be in the mid 60s (F), but then we start to warm up again.  Spring is now definitely in the air.

My legs are a bit sore today because I did a leg workout yesterday.  The stiffness is only noticeable coming down the stairs.  My quads are isolated as they stretch during my descent.  This means the squats I did were worthwhile.

I do work today, though I'm not expecting the store to be busy.  Not only do some people got to sunrise services, many more will gather for family dinners.  Easter buffets are big around here.  I'm taking lunch today because it's quite doubtful food is going to be provided.  Remember, today's not a national holiday.  What they will probably do is set out tons of candy for us grazers to consume.  Calories do not get counted today.

And even though I did work yesterday, friends sent me pictures from peaceful protests in downtown Harrisburg.  From State Street down to Walnut Street, 5 city blocks, thousands gathered to protest Trump.  And, as I sit here typing this, I'm reminded of a phrase that was chanted in the 60s:  Power to the People.

Evidently the US Supreme Court came down with another late night decision forcing the Orange Anus to stop deporting Venezuelans, and while this is only a temporary halt, it's important.  I'm suspecting there is a lot of turmoil in the court as both the liberals and the conservatives try to reign in the 2 fascists, Alito and Thomas.  On their last decision, Alito was not allowed to publish his dissent, saying he would be publishing at some future date.  This is a sucker punch to his face.  This is good.  He needs to be smacked both back and down frequently.
