Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Playing With Fire

It's Sunday morning and 60 (F) outside.  Rain and drizzle is predicted for the entire day.  Accuweather warns that this may impact Father's Day celebrations.  I thought I'd let you know, just in case any of you are fathers.  I don't want you to be disappointed when Mr. Blue Sky stays away.

I worked yesterday and it was boring.  I had to stand at the Lead Table for an hour.  Most associates are scheduled to work it in an attempt to generate leads; a lead is where you try and set a customer up for a free consultation in the hopes of getting them to buy a very expensive installation, like windows or fencing.  Corporate sets a lead generation goal for each store.  I checked.  None of the leads scheduled at the Lead Table sell, still, it does help the store reach its goal, which is all that corporate wants.

Last evening my friend Betsy from York called to cancel our lunch plans for this afternoon, she has a bad cold.  This means I have the day all to myself.  For the first time in a long time I'll be able to get a workout in on a Sunday.

And yesterday the Orange Anus got his military parade.  In his tiny mind he thought this was going to be a huge event.  It failed miserably.  The administration got approval form the Park Service for 250,000 tickets and attendance didn't even come close.  On top of everything that happened this past week, his birthday parade was a monumental catastrophe, and he knew.  This is his pouty/angry face in case you were wondering.

Yesterday was also a day of tragedy with Democrat Melissa Hortman being assassinated by Vance Boelter, who was among other things, an Evangelical Christian Nationalist and huge Trump supporter.  Boelter also murdered Melissa's husband and shot their dog before moving on to two more victims.  Boelter's wife Jenny was pulled over by police who discovered she had a firearm and ammunition in the car, she was, however not arrested.  He rented a room part-time and texted his roommates that he might soon be dead.  Translation:  this sack of shit loser is going to ask God for forgiveness and then commit suicide.  This man is truly a gutless sack of shit.

Minnesota governor Tim Walz canceled the No Kings protests out of concern that others might be injured or killed and in response over 60,000 people showed up at the capital.  Republicans are so out of touch they have no idea they're playing with fire.

E Ticket Ride

Saturday... Kid's Workshop... and I'm not working.  Now, isn't that a really good reason to celebrate?  The temps are forecast to go up into mid to upper 50's (F), unusually warm for January.  According to Accuweather, the warm winter temps will continue for the next 2 weeks.  While these temps will reduce my heating bill, they are a precursor, a terrible tease as to what climate change may bring to the region.  Central PA may end up turning into a tropical rain forest.
The first draft of "The Body in the Well" has been completed.  Right now it sits at 93,357 words.  Now the editing starts.  I was asked by one of my readers if he was going to find it riveting.  I told him I was aiming more for an E ticket ride at Disneyland.  Of course, I had to explain myself.
And by now, everyone knows the Idiot Jerk in the White House approved the assassination of very high ranked Iranian general.  His action teeters both the US and the mid-east into an all out war.  One of the women at work said "he did in order to get himself re-elected," the belief being we're not going to change presidents in the middle of a war.  Can you think of anything sounding more logical to a Republican?  Start a war to stay in power.  They have always been callously inconsiderate of human life that isn't white and American.  Their base revels in this, believing it demonstrates their superiority.  Every day they reveal more of their ugliness.
On a brighter note:  Here are Biggie and Lily with their T-Rex.

It doesn't squeak too much, does it?

Ronald Reagan is killing the GOP

I have to admit that now and then I really do have to laugh at the GOP because  long time ago they had this candidate named Ronald Reagan who managed to get himself elected president.  They have put him on this Olympic sized pedestal because of his landslide re-election.  Even though his second term in office was quite flawed, they have transcended him into almost god-like status.  What they failed to realize was that by doing so they were initiating the slow death of the Republican Party.  They didn't understand that by being an older gentleman, and surviving an assassination attempt, he had become a grandfather figure to many Americans.  They voted for him in such numbers because they liked him, not necessarily his politics.  They still don't understand his politics had nothing to do with his massive re-election.  Of course, the GOP will never honestly evaluate his second election.  They aspire to greatness.  Like the aging beauty queen, they pack on pounds of makeup to gloss over their wrinkles in order to see beauty every time they look into the mirror of the past.  By doing so,  they are letting Ronald Reagan kill the Republican Party.

Grandfather figure and Party Killer

During his second term in office a lot of shit went down.  There was this little thing called the Iran-Contra Affair in which the United States sold weapons to it's enemies in order for those enemies to get them in the hands of the Contra Rebels in Central America.  Oops, not a good thing.  If I remember correctly, he was the first sitting president forced to testify before Congress because of it.  And the Republicans fell into a frenzy of hate which still rankles them to this day.   They believed his amazing re-election gave them free reign to to what ever they wanted.  They were terribly wrong.  Instead of trying to comprehend this, they went to the dark side.  Every president they have gotten elected since then has lived down to the standards they, themselves, have set in their hearts.  By failing to grasp the true nature of that election they have done themselves in, Ronald Reagan is truly killing the GOP.  Slowly, but surely, he is wiping them out.
