Spikes

Good morning.  We have a chilly start to Central PA's No Kings Day!  Temps are predicted to be in the mid to upper 40s (F), so it will be brisk, but there will be abundant sunshine for all.  Our temps have begun a climbing stage and by Tuesday our afternoon high will be in the low 80s (F).  Sorry, that's summertime weather and way to warm for very early April.  When I sit and think about this forecast, I wonder how high temps will be in June, July, and August if we're getting heat spikes like this so early in Spring.

Yesterday I had lunch with my cousin and her husband.  I enjoy these get togethers.  She is 3 months older and than me.  That makes her the first born grandchild.  However, I was the first boy born, and back than boy babies were more important than girl babies.  This doesn't mean the problem doesn't still exist, it does, though it's not as bad, it does, especially among desolate Christians who tend to see girl babies as nothing more than future vessels.

To my surprise, I learned I was part of a class action lawsuit against the great orange retailer I work for, having to do with forcing associates to have testing done during the times of Covid when they were off the clock.  As far as I can remember, this never effected me, ;however I'm still getting part of the settlement.  If approved I'll be getting a whopping $20.82.  Half of that will be included in my gross wages and will be on my W2.  For the other half, I'll be getting a 1099 for tax purposes.  Go figure.

And here's a pic of Howie I took this morning.

And there are No Kings marches planned for today.  One of the headlines in the Washington Posted asked if they will do anything, and I had to laugh.  Since the owner of the WaPo is Jeff Bozos, and he wants as many tax  breaks from the Republican party as possible, he has aligned himself with the Orange Anus.  Expect nothing remotely critical of the current administration from a news agency that was once considered one of the best in the world.

And the House of Representatives thought they'd let Orangie spike the ball in a bid to bring his ratings out of the gutter, and failed.  What did they do?  Well, the Senate passed legislation funding TSA, and FEMA, and a several other groups, in fact everyone except ICE and CBP, and Orangie said he'd sign it.  The House, seeking to glorify their glorious leader, voted this legislation down.  Seconds later Orangie proclaimed that he'd sign an Executive Order to pay the TSA.  However, Orangie doesn't have the authority to do that.  I do not doubt that this administration believed this would resound with Americans and help to improve Orangie's poll numbers.  It didn't.  More and more people are realizing that everything around this fool is a con, so his intended spike failed.
