Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Fine

Last night I went to our Holiday Party - it was okay.  They kept the same menu as last year:  some sort of beef with mushrooms and dried chicken Parmesan.  I won a door prize:  a $10 gift card to Subway (which I gave a way) and a bag of Butterfinger candy bits (which I gave away).  I don't table-hop like some do... just not my style.  The truth is I'm not a big party person and as I grow older I'm even less of one.  The large corporation I work for, just like every other large corporation, wants you to be best friends with your associates.  That will never happen.  The last thing I want to do is spend time with my friends talking about work.  I do not bring my work home with me.  I do not take work with me when I got out to the movies or to dinner.  My life is simple, I like it that way.  My life is fine just the way it is.
And evidently last night Christian Bale won a Golden Globe for playing Dick Cheney in "Vice."  I understand he thanked Satan... in his very fine British accent.

Inspiration comes in all forms and shapes, doesn't it?
And today is Monday and I get to go to work.  I have off Tuesday and Wednesday which is nice.  For the next couple of weeks I'm only working 32 hours per week.  That's fine, too.
There is also an interesting clip floating around out there of Faux News' Chris Wallace calling out Sarah Sanders Something or Other for lying.

You know you've been caught lying when Faux News starts fact checking you.  This was fine with me.  She gets paid to lie.  She spoon feeds the Republican base their bias and their racism for big bucks.  I'm not saying she doesn't believe those lies.  I suspect there is an ugly crook in her heart and she's fine with that because she believes.  She doesn't understand that her grandchildren will mostly likely marry people with brown skin.
And this morning, before I ate my oatmeal, I sat on the sofa for a bit, Big Seig on my left and Lily on my right, and let me tell you those moments were very fine too.

Lifeboats this way

Well, here it is, Monday morning.  For some of you the weekend is over and it's back to work, for me?  Well, I worked the weekend.
Lily's 'Snout Magic' arrives today.  She's not the only one with dry nose.  Big Seig's got a bit around the corners of his nostrils, which means he'll get a dab as well.  Besides, he'd feel bad if she got her nose balmed and he didn't.  They're dogs, you know?  Like little kids, jealous of what the other gets.
I did about 20 minutes on the Kinetic trainer this AM.  I'm on the fence as to whether I like it or not - I am fairly sure, however, that it wasn't completely worth what I paid.  I'm on my 2nd resistance unit.  They replaced the first because of Bluetooth issues - it wouldn't stay connected to either my phone or my tablet.  Because I'm using cyclocross tires the calibration is poor so I'm really getting accurate readings.  Details for setting up the tension on the resistance unit are very vague, like "tighten the tension knob until tire touches the unit and the add 2 or 3 turns."  I have nobby tires so only the nubs of the tire touch, not the tire itself.  What they really want is for you to buy one of their 'special' training tires.  If they wanted you to use a special tire, one should have been included with the purchase. Cheapo me went out and bought an inexpensive road bike tire - that will do.  Oh, and calling myself 'cheapo' is only a phrase, I'm actually rather expensive.
And, being that it's Monday morning, I checked to see if the Idiot Jerk's approval ratings continue to erode... they do.  I specifically went to Fox to see if they were giving him a ray of sunshine... nada.  They're actually rather quiet.  I don't know if that means they're satisfied that his approval rating is beginning to edge below 38% or whether they're just happy the damn thing isn't sinking any faster.  You know what I mean, if you don't talk about it, his supporters won't notice the bow slipping below the surface.
Actually, that's not quite right, Juan Williams, a political commentator with Fox News just published an article calling the Idiot Jerk a failed president.  We all know that to be true.  In fact, I suspect that's his way of holding up a little sign which reads "lifeboats this way."

Enunciate this

Well, it's Thursday.  Today is my 2nd day of 8 days in a row.  Yippy Skippy.
Evidently the Idiot Jerk in the White House gave another speech yesterday... and people are saying it was quite different from his rally speech on Tuesday; am I the only one who wonders that perhaps he might be Bipolar?  That's kind of putting it mildly of course, isn't it?  I mean, doesn't Bipolar sound a lot like a DQ sundae?  "I'll take a Hot Fudge Bipolar with nuts and whip creme... skip the cherry."  The sad truth is that if, perhaps, he is Bipolar, you can bet that's just a small sample of all of his mental illnesses.  Some say he should be tested for dementia... personally, I think they ought to check his system for drugs.  Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's popping pills regularly:  to stay awake, to go to sleep, to watch Fox News without vomiting.  In fact, I'd almost put money on it that he's been self-diagnosing for years, and I'm sure that if he answered privately about his meds he'd say "I take 2 pinks, 3 blues, a yellow capsule, a green capsule, and 8 little purple ones for the indigestion I get from eating meatloaf."
Yesterday was also an interesting day at work.  The Paint Department got a new product and they called me over to show it to me.

Of course they were having a big hoot over this new caulk, but then their pronunciation was a little bit different, sounding a lot like 'ock' rather than 'aulk.'  Isn't it amazing what a simple vowel can do?
