Potential

 It's Saturday, and it's raining.  We will have soaking rains all day.  Temps will hover in the mid 40s (F).  Tomorrow's high will be in the mid 50s (F) and according to the long range forecast they will continue this high as we get deeper into spring.

Yesterday was another one of those ho-hum days.  I cleaned the tank in the living room. I finally seem to have managed to get the black algae under control.  The answer was rather simple.  I only turn the tank light on for a certain amount of hours each day.  Algae, like live plants, needs a certain amount of light to grow.  It's not completely dark, and the light is on for a few hours each day, but not for 17 hours, like it used to be.

So, the trip to Greece has been booked.  So have my flights.  Wow.  When I went to France I got on a plane at Dulles and flew straight to Paris.  Well, that ain't happening.  The only direct flight is from Chicago, so I'd have to fly west and then east, and boy was it pricey.  This time I'm flying from Harrisburg, to Philadelphia, to London, to Athens.  The return flight (s) will take me from Athens, to Madrid (for a 13 hour layover), to Boston, and then finally to Harrisburg.  I checked on flights from Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington (Dulles), and they all had a least one stop.  The same was true on returning flights.  So, does anybody live in Madrid?

Or, better yet, focus on the word potential.  You see, DWAC, the company merging with Truth Social, saw their stock value drop by 14% Friday.  Not good.  True, for the short term he will be about $3 billion richer, however he can't sell any of that stock for at least 6 months.  Oops.  This means he's not going to be able to use that money to cover his $464 million bond.  There are rules to keep this from happening.  He could get special approval, but selling so much of his newly acquired stock would crash GWAC, leaving it and the Orange Anus open to legal challenges by the investors.  Of course, we all know that Donnie's been sued often enough for being an asshole.

And the pathetic thing about the terrorist attack in Moscow is that the US warned Putin 2 weeks ago, his ego, however, pooh poohed that information.  This means that the US knows more about what's happening in Russia, than Russia.  And the fact that ISIS shouted out that there were responsible within 2 hours of their attack kept Putin from blaming the Ukraine.  Poor Puty.  And while the Kremlin is claiming they've arrested 4 for the attack, ISIS is not that stupid.  And Vlad's claim that the terrorists were arrest heading towards Ukraine is laughable since and road heading out of Moscow, be it east, west, or south can be headed towards Ukraine.

I did take off work yesterday.  We had torrential rains throughout the morning.  Translation:  I got a lot accomplished.  My dahlias are ensconced in a bed of perlite and peat moss where they will sleep through the winter.  My enclosed back porch smells rather loamy.
So, wasn't yesterday one of those days when surrealism took the stage in a farce of words directed entirely at the base of the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  Reading from a teleprompter that seemed to have been scripted by Kim Dumb Dong, he wasted 15 minutes of time bragging basically about his decisiveness.  That was one of the words our Madam Vice President used... decisive.  I'm not saying that the elimination of the 'baddie' wasn't important, just that the timing seems a bit... coordinated.  I mean, in a little over a week and a half there are a number of regional elections.  They need to activate their base.  Keep them loyal since polls show the number of supporters is slowly trending downward.  Remember, this is how the Idiot Jerk thinks, how he plays to deplorable intelligence.  He grandstands in order to get them to ooooh and aaaaaahhh.  Except that didn't happen when he went to see the Washington Nationals in game 5 of the World Series last evening.  After announcing the death of al-Bagdhadi, the Idiot Jerk thought he was going to surrounded by adulation.  Wrong.  The crowd booed when they heard he was in the stadium.  They chanted "lock him up!"  The look on his face is priceless.  This is what America thinks of him.  Holy Shit!  This is not what happens at his rallies!  This is why he will lose the election.
Anyway... the test bars of my new soap come today.  I also ordered a small fan which is due to arrive tomorrow.  something I can used beside the ceiling fan when I ride my bike.  I also rearranged my cycling space yesterday.  The little Dell laptop I use for the Rouvy app moved from my right side to my left, and a nice black, rubber mat went down on the floor.  I sweat a lot.

ISIS Failure and Trump's deep state of...

There was a massive turnout for the Ariane Grande concert in remembrance and for the benefit of the Manchester victims and survivors, and I doubt if it got much airplay in those crazy Muslim countries that love their extremism.  Let's be honest here, those 50,000 people said "fuck you. terrorists."  I think that's pretty much the definition of failure.  Sure there is that momentary moment of shock, but than the masses come together and say "fuck you, terrorists."  And just the other day they foisted something on London Bridge and there was that 'holy crap' moment, but 3 terrorists died and since then 12 have been arrested, with more arrests to come.  I'll bet that's not going to make one of their crazy recruitment videos, now is it?  In fact, the only place these crazies seem to be a success is in the Middle East and Africa - very where else they are the poster children for failure.
There was also an interesting article in The Hill this AM about the Deep State - does it exist or is it a fabrication of the Far Right?  Personally, I suspect that there might have always been a bit of a Deep State in existence and most, I again suspect, it worked in conjunction with the White House, not as a separate entity.  Now, however, we have an Idiot in the White House who doesn't like the Intelligence Community, mostly because they realize he's an Idiot, and also because they don't tell him what he wants to hear, oh, and of course, they realize that Russia is not our friend.  Nor has he been on friendly terms with the Joint Chiefs of Staff - and I'd be willing to be those 2 groups are talking to each other.  And I'd also be willing to be that there's a constant stream of piss on Steve Bannon. a loser who no doubt thought that his whispers in the Idiot's ear would reshape the country into is vision.
