Women: The Republican Problem

 We're going to have another nice day.  Temps in the low to mid 80s (F), mostly blue skies, and a light breeze are predicted.  Yesterday was gorgeous.  I hung out 2 loads of laundry and they dried fast.  Temps are supposed to begin climbing as the week continues, but no day in the mid to upper 90s (F) are expected.  

I've also started looking at the long range forecasts.  My trip to Greece is only a few weeks away, and temperature was one of the things that came into play when I made my reservationist.  The country can get very hot there in the summer, and I didn't want to be climbing through different archeological sites sweating my cojones off.  I'm figuring that the weather should be nicely warm when I'm there.

Yesterday was a good day for getting things done.  I mowed my lawn!  Went on a 9 mile bike ride.  Wrote lots of pages.  These are all good things.  I do have to go to work today, but only for 5 hours.  I've changed my availability for when I get back.  I'm going to be working less hours, only 1 eight hour day, that'll be Sunday.

I saw this and thought it very appropriate.

A number of Christians, the Evangelical sect comes to mind, do believe that God sent the Orange Anus specifically to overturn Roe v Wade.  They hate the idea that a woman should have a choice over what's happening in her body, they prefer women to be vessels.  This is a bit ironic because many Evangelical women have only allowed their body to be a vessel a few times.  Even more ironic is the fact that this Bobo Supreme Court, when overturning Roe v Wade, said that states should have the right to decide on this issue, not the Federal Government.  Because of this many women and men have started collecting signatures.  They want to enshrine a woman's right to an abortion, should she feel the need for one, in their states constitution.  Five states have already passed this initiative, including Ruby Red Ohio, where the conservatives are flipping angry as Hell because Americans told them to shut.  As of yesterday, 8 more states have qualified this same initiative to be on the ballot, including Republican held Missouri, and Ronnie DeSantis' red state, Florida.  In every state where these initiatives have passed, Democrats have also beaten Republican candidates by a large margin.  Ouch!  This is not what the Alito court wanted.  It's not what Republicans want.  Women are not going to be subservient to their wishes.  Republicans have a very large problem, and they simply refuse to understand.

The Early Morning Mind

 Saturday.  I work.  A full 8 hour shift.  Excitement percolates at the thought of sitting at the flooring desk and talking to people about carpet, should they go with Triexta, or just a simply poly (polyester).  Well, that's bunk. 

Being semi-retired means I can now sleep in a little if I want.  Of course, then I end up staying up later, which can, should I let it, begin they cycle of late nights and later mornings.  My neighbor did that, stayed up until 3 in the morning and then sleeping in until noon.  I find that I think differently late at night then in the morning.  I allow ideas to slide, rather than pinpointing details I find fascinating.  Like most people aging gracefully, I am concerned about my mind sliding, so this morning when the alarm went off at 0545, I rousted myself.  Are things clearer, sharper at this early hour?  Possibly.  I do know that I don't let things slide.  I didn't start playing a video game to help pass the time until I was tired enough to go to bed.

Well, this happened yesterday morning.  This is the 2nd dumpster brought in for the clean-up of the house next door.  Yesterday was also the day the workmen started cleaning out the attic.  One of them told me it was creepy.  I can tell you it's big.  The peak is 18 feet off the floor.  If there weren't so many beams, it might make for a nice master suite.

During an interview, Lou Dobbs claimed that there is a 'rank cover-up' in the Supreme Court over the Roe v Wade leak.  He's right, however his statement implies he believes the leaker to have been a Liberal.  I don't believe he understands how wrong he is.  Had that been true, this ultra Right-Wing court would have leaked that information.  Conservatives only protect their own.  I'm betting no one can even remember the last time a conservative stood up for a Centrist.  I know I can't.

And, of course, Jimmy Jordan got some bad news from the DOJ.  Sorry, no information regarding ongoing investigations.  As one of the insurrectionists involved in that fake elector scheme, I'm sure Little Jimmy is scared shitless.  You see, Jack Smith has subpoenaed quite a lot of information from those states planning on sending counterfeit electors to vote for Trump, not Biden.  Little Jimmy was deeply involved.  At first he tried to blame an aide for submitting the phony names, but as more people squealed to save their own asses, the truth came out: it was Little Jimmy, himself, who had submitted those fake names.  And Little Jimmy is scared his ass might fry.  Sizzle, Jimmy, sizzle.

Being Tricky

So, what will today bring?  Any ideas?  Yesterday, was fun, in an odd sort of way.  I had my driver's license renewed.  While this may seem a mundane chore to most, this was my first time at the new PA driver's license office, which is located in Enola.  That's right.  No driving into downtown Harrisburg anymore.  Not only is it in my home town, it is, as the crow flies, about 3/4 of a mile away.  The building used to be a supermarket, now it's used solely for renewing and applying for driver's licenses.  My visit was fairly uneventful except for one thing.  Now, everybody knows their picture on their driver's license looks like crap.  Well, there was this blond woman who wasn't satisfied.  From where I was sitting, I could see the screen with her pictures.  At first there were 2, which she didn't like, so they took another, and another, and another.  She kept dismissing them all.  I laughed.  The only time anyone is going to see that picture is if you get pulled over by a traffic cop, or if you're getting carded going into a bar.  At her age, she was definitely not going to get stopped going into a bar, so I suppose the police must pull her over a lot.

I went for an 11 mile ride in Oregon.  Small hills, and fairly flat.

Also, for those looking to buy an appliance, the big sale starts today.  This is the Black Friday special.  Pay close attention.  This sale ends 12/1 and a Christmas sale begins.  That sale is not as good.  Of course, most people will think this is one continuous sale.  Tricky, we are.

The rest of the pumpkin pie is gone.  Good.  Now my hellish carb addiction is satiated, at least for the time being.  I made 2 stuffed peppers.  Since I had a couple of plum tomatoes on hand, I made the sauce, too.

And last evening I saw the pertinence in yesterday's blog.  Evidently Kash Patel was given immunity to testify.  This is going to be very tricky.  The immunity covers a very narrow area and has no effect on other crimes he may have committed.  He will sit there with an attorney who will prod him to use the 5th as often as possible.  Even more important to remember, is that Patel is a lying sack of shit; he's prone to falsehoods and partial truths, what ever he thinks will save his ass.

Biden spoke last night.  I didn't watch.  I'm doing a replay of Assassin's Creed, Valhalla with studly Alexios.  I don't think I need to tell you that everything he said was true.  We may end up with several years of chaos if a number of election deniers win.  I'm thinking the Democrats are going to keep the Senate, and possibly the House (by the skin of our teeth).  I'm thinking we're going to do better than the Republicans think.  Why?  Because on a Fox Townhall, J.D. Vance, a celebrity non-politician who thought this would be a cakewalk, said he thinks the abortion issue would be settled if we went back to Roe v Wade.  Does he believe this?  He may have written a bestseller, but when it comes to the American people his brain is witless.  He's just being tricky.  When lies fail, Republicans turn to trickery.

 

Mow this

 Well, it's one of those early mornings for me.  Awake around 0415.  Crap.  I'll probably take a quick nap before leaving for work.  Thursdays, you know?  Permanently on my work schedule until I decide otherwise.  

Biggie went to the Vet yesterday for his blood work.  $165.  This is, supposedly, to ensure his doggy nsaid is not doing any harm to his liver.  One thing that his changing is how much gabapentin he's getting.  You see, his prescription ran out and they refused to give him a refill until after this bloodwork.  To my surprise, there was no significant change in what I interpret to be his level of pain.  None at all.  So I'm wondering if my concern for him fogged up my perception to the point where I was seeing serious suffering where there wasn't any.  I did get it refilled, but now that he's weened off, I'm going to take a wait and see attitude.

The cuckoo clock is on the wall.  It's loud, but not in a bad way.  

People ask me what I did when I got out of the Navy.  Well, I went to college, grew my hair long, and one summer I got a job at a summer camp where I got to drive around on a large riding lawn mower.  It was over this summer that I made my stage debut in a community theater production of How To Succeed in Business.

And what about Herschel and his 2nd abortion?  Can anyone tell me why this is not surprising?  I'm suspecting there are more, not that his rattled brain remembers them.  

One funny thing I saw on Twitter yesterday was Ronna McDaniel complaining that there were over one million ballots mailed in prior to Fetterman's debate.  She was rather livid, and all I could do was laugh.  Does anyone really believe that those voting for Fetterman are suddenly going to switch over to Oz?  Honestly, the number of complaints about Oz and his statement about women checking with their local politicians prior to getting an abortion far outweighed those against Fetterman and his stroke.

There was also a lot of commentary about Alito's whine that the leak was responsible for members of the Supreme Court getting death threats.  This man is really stupid if he believes it was the leak.  What kind of reaction did he think they were going to get?  Oh, wait, that's right, he's a conservative and we all know that they rarely think.

Fiery Brandon

 I don't know about you, but I'm grew up thinking the week actually ended on Sunday.  You know?  Having to work for 6 days before reaching that 7th day of rest.  Think about that for a second.  We were never supposed to have 2 days off in a row.  Never.  Only 1.  And even then, Sunday was never supposed to be anything like Funday.  

Anyway, Lily had to go potty outside around 0100 because she doesn't go before climbing the stairs and jumping on the bed.  As she was outside doing her late-night business, I checked the traps.  Success.  One mouse down.

Yesterday, work was meh.  I had a young couple who'd had a measure done for laminate flooring.  The estimate came back much higher than they were expecting, mostly because they didn't have proper dimensions, so the estimate was off.  They will some of the last customers to get an estimate.  We are using a new procedure called SAM that no longer gives an estimate.  Believe me.  Estimates are almost always off.  Sometimes big time.  

One of the main reasons I'm on Facebook is the USS Constellation page.  Pictures get posted which help people understand what life was like on an aircraft carrier.  Here's a berthing compartment similar to the one for Division 90, CIC (Radar), the only difference being we had a green floor and green curtains.  This was taken when we were in port.  At sea, the overhead lighting was red.

And here's the hanger bay.  It was very large.  It's the 01 level.  CIC was on the 03 level.  To get there, you went up a staircase below the AIMD sign, turned right and down the hallway past Communications, and up another staircase to the 03 level.  We were located directly below the flight deck.  Click to embiggen.

With less than 3 months until the midterms, things are really starting to pop across the country.  Biden gave a speech yesterday in which he said pretty much heading into fascism.  Some want to call this version of him Dark Brandon, I, however like Fiery Brandon.  

I was quite pleased to see the White House starting to call out those Republicans shrieking about the student debt relief.  Mike Kelly from PA, almost a million $ in PPP written off.  Republicans weren't expecting this.  They thought there was no way the Democrats were going to kick them in the nuts.  Wow!  Guess who's regretting now wearing a cup?  Dumb asses.

And, of course, there is the Roe v Wade issue.  In their attempt to lock in the Cracker Jack Crazy Christian vote, legislators in the very red states passed extreme laws against abortion, and now their 'oh shit,' moment is happening.  Who do these stringent hurt the most?  The working classes.  Paraphrasing Ruth Bader Ginsberg, "any woman with means, will always find a way to get an abortion."  Now tell me, why would the very male Republican party think about women at all.

Falling Down

 So, I went to bed early last evening.  As a result, I got up earlier than my usual 0600.  I have no problem with that.  More time to get things accomplished before I head off to work.

And, speaking of work, I volunteered to put in some extra time this week.  Rather than have Tuesday and Wednesday off, I will be working 5 hours each day.  As I'd said, one of our associates gave his notice - well, he's gone.  Yesterday, when I got to work, I discovered that another associate had a bit of an accident.  He fell off a roof... and lived.  He sent pictures.  I didn't ask to see them.  From what I've been told, his face is all stitched together, and he now has numerous pins in his shoulder.  He told management that he would be back to work on 8/18.  I doubt if that date is any good.  Maybe September 18, and even then, he'll still probably have his arm in a cast.

Otherwise, yesterday was slow, not a day of accomplishments.  John Fetterman did Tweet out this pic of one woman's opinion of Dr. Oz.  Notice the finger.  He's sort of falling down in the polls.

Of course, the Senate voted yesterday on the Inflation Reduction Act.  Filibuster proof.  Republicans are pissed because the Democrats are doing something that doesn't include tax breaks to corporations and to the wealthy.  They're terrified.  The Roe v Wade decision put them on a very slippery slope.  They're losing traction everywhere. Can't maintain their balance and keep falling down.  A little over a week after Kansans voted against a constitutional amendment outlawing abortion, the Indiana legislator approved an extremely stringent anti-abortion bill because...  These men are running down a hardwood staircase in their stocking feet.

And I saw that the alumni of Rhodes College in Tennessee have have sent a signed petition to college leadership asking that Amy Cony Boney's name be stricken from the Honor Roll.  This is because Amy's "adherence to an originalist interpretive methodology of constitutional textual analysis appears to be at odds with the statements she made" during her Senate confirmation.  In other words, she lied.  She is one of the reasons the reputation of the Supreme Court has fallen so low in the court of public opinion,

When a Kiss is not a Kiss

 Well, did you have a lazy Sunday?  Get a lot of rest?  Read a good book, maybe?

Here in Central PA, my accomplishments were numerous.  No lazing around for me yesterday.  I got a ride in on the bike, one with an 18% grade hill somewhere in Germany.  Several loads of laundry.  A trip to my local Giant supermarket.  About 500 words written on the next book.  And I topped the day off with some time playing Elden Ring.

Nichelle Nichols passed away yesterday. She was part of an ensemble cast of a groundbreaking show that brought science fiction into American living rooms weekly.  She and Bill Shatner had the first interracial kiss on national TV.  I remember that kiss.  Network PR ensured everyone in America knew it was going to happen, though I was very disappointed when it finally occurred.  There was absolutely no hint of romance; some viewers might find that offensive.  Aliens with the ability to control minds forced Uhuru and Kirk to kiss.  So, when is a kiss not really a kiss?  More important than that was her being on the bridge of the Enterprise.  She was a black woman who was the Communications Officer.  She was a person of importance.  That, in itself, is an extremely important first.

Oh, and I ordered a wall clock.  Not cuckoo.  Pendulum.  Big, because sometimes size does matter, with chimes that bong 4/4.  The clock it's replacing was a pendulum wall clock, though not as large.  This one is about 6 inches longer.  It's a Hermle Hopewell.  

And, finally, the midterms are rapidly approaching.  I read an interesting opinion by E.J. Dionne in the Washington Post about expectations.  If these were any other midterms, the Republicans would most likely have a lock on tacking back the House and the Senate.  The media trumpeted this from the rooftops, and the Republicans believed this, in fact, they were so sure they began firing conservative broadsides into Centrist America.  You can bet that, had they not been so sure of the midterms, the extremists on the Supreme Court would not have overturned Roe v Wade.  They were going to force Americans to kiss their conservative asses.  However, these are not normal midterms.  The January 6 committee has Republicans attacking Republicans.  In fact, a day doesn't seem to pass when some new revelation isn't causing Americans to take a big step back and say, "what the fuck was going on?"  You have the Roe v Wade fiasco which only appealed to a minority group.  You have Trump calculating that if he announces his run for the presidency, he'll be safe from prosecution.  You have mental ingrates like Kari Lake and Marcia Blackburn spitting out insanities.  And, most recently Republicans defeating the PACT act without even considering the message they're sending to Veterans.  In fact, this November, it could well be the Centrist of America turning their butts to the Republican party as they say, "shut up, and kiss my ass."

Tank, Tanking, Tanked

 As expected, yesterday was soooo sloooow at work.  Not a lot of people are out looking for flooring.  But, just in case some of you are thinking, "ah, that's the economy," I have to remind you that July and August are always slow months for us.  Vacation time.  Customers ask themselves, "why spend $4000 on carpet or vinyl planking, when you can take the family to Disneyworld for a week and have much more fun?"  Believe me, fun always wins out.

I'm only being scheduled for 3 days a week for the next couple of weeks.  That's fine with me.  This partial retirement thing is rather nice.  

Since it's Friday, I'm off.  I have certain chores that get done on Friday. They are part of my routine.  No laundry, though.  Wednesday is my laundry day.  Most of today's chores involve cleaning.  Oh, and going to the supermarket.

The flowers in one of the little, front gardens are coming along nicely. Interestingly enough, the marigolds I planted from scratch are burgeoning, the ones which were already 5 inches tall when I bought them are struggling.

So, here we are, halfway through July, one hundred and some odd days before the midterms, and a certain political party is starting to scratch their head, seeming caught off guard by what's happening in America.  The common belief was that the party that loses the presidency wins heavily in the mid-terms.  The truth is that was never a sure thing.  As a result, the Republicans thought they were going to drive their conservative tank back and forth across the country, crushing every centrist in sight.  They were going to win which meant they could do whatever they wanted.  And so, the Supreme Court that they packed overturned Roe.  With one fell swoop they told the largest voting bloc in the country that not only were they 2nd class citizens, in truth, they were really nothing more than breeders.

Suddenly it seems as though they've driven that tank straight into a river that is very wide, and very deep.  Not only that, but they have also tied their destiny to a moral degenerate.  A man who attempted to overthrow American Democracy in an attempt to stay in power.  A big thank you to the January 6 committee for constant reminding America of his evil.

There is a horrific school shooting and America clamors for gun control, and they say, "shut up, we have enough votes to override everything you want."

At first there were just rumors that their tank might be tanking.  Those rumors are not only getting louder, but they are also beginning to sound like a constant drumbeat.  They nominated individuals who they felt would further their agenda without asking the American people what they wanted.  They're tank is filling up with water faster than they can bail it out. The lie that started with Reagan is ending with Trump.

The Bitter Hatred of Clarence Thomas

Well, wasn't yesterday.... Special?  

I made lemon potatoes with oregano.  Not as tasty as I had hoped, thought a ton of parmesan cheese helps.

A lot of peaches were picked.  There are so many of them, they will be either frozen or turned into sauce.

Of course, after the news broke about Roe vs Wade, I spent most of the day on either the computer or my phone.  After the leak, no one should have thought there those conservative judges were going to change their mind.  This decision further divides the country.  Remember, conservatives desperately need to say "shut up!  we're in charge!" no matter how small their minority.  This is their way of saying "fuck you, America."

While the anger is directed towards every one of the judges who side with the majority, Clarence Thomas stands above the rest in his demonstration of hatred.  He provided a laundry list of opinions he wanted overturned:  LGBQT and contraceptive rights.  Robert Reich, among many others, noted Thomas did not mention Virginia vs Loving, another ruling that set a precedent:  interracial marriage.  Being married to a white woman, this exemplifies how 74-year-old is on a personal vendetta.  He is going to make the Centrists and Liberals who objected to his nomination pay dearly. This man epitomizes Conservative hatred.

As more proof, Thomas believes the court should reexamine Griswold vs Connecticut, the ruling which permitted married couples access to birth control.  After 2 marriages, the first to a black woman, he only has one child, so either his little swimmers are weak, or he hasn't been having intercourse, however there is also a very good possibility his spouse has been using birth control.  This has nothing to do with his believing in the sanctity of the sacred sperm impregnating the holy egg.  Remember how he was conveniently hospitalized when his wife's intimate involvement in the Trump coup was going to be released?  He was terrified of being questioned, so he ran away and hid.  This man is a gutless sack of shit pushing his bitter anger onto America.  

Yesterday, while the Republican party was dancing in the street, there were those who were not cheering.  Even the Orange Anus, Donald Trump, was voice reservations about the decision, rather it was the closeness to the mid-terms he was muttering about.  Because Republicans are so bound up in their own selfish wants and desires, they never take a second to consider other opinions, how women might vote this November.  While there may be many women who are stridently anti-abortion, there are many, many more who were glad that option was available.   There are also many, many women who see this decision as taking away their rights to equality, suddenly they are now more inferior and no longer have the right to decide on how to handle a pregnancy.  They are being forced into a role of submission.  This is not going to sit well with them.

Choice

Yesterday was a day of accomplishment!  Most of the lawn got mowed.  Sadly, I had to recharge the battery on the mower.  The rest will be mowed today.  I did some planting.  Got in a 13.86-mile ride, my legs were a bit sore last evening.  Set up the new storage and downloaded a game: This War of Mine, you scavenge through the town to get supplies to make your house more livable.

Of course, I have to tell the weather is marvelous.  The high today is supposed it 78 (F), which is a very good temperature for yardwork.  I have buds everywhere.  I can't wait for the color.  I even planted some marigolds.  You know?  The stinky, pretty flowers that last all summer.  And an elephant leaf plant.

For those interested, the next book is coming along fine.  The Body Under Ice.  Mackinac Island in the winter.  There is a ferry service which takes you to the island most of the year.  However, in the winter it shuts down.  When that happens, there are 2 ways to reach the island: flying in on a small plane or driving across the ice bridge.  The ice bridge... now, doesn't that sound like fun?  Believe me, if I had a choice of how to get to the island in the winter... I'd probably take the ice bridge.

Just in case you're living in the United States and haven't noticed, states are having their primary elections to choose their candidates for the fall.  Sadly, everyone in the news media is focused on the Trump endorsed candidates.  They see this as a gauge of his stranglehold on the Republican party; the more he loses the weaker his grasp.  He lost a really big one in Nebraska last night, picked up a smaller one in West Virginia.    The more he loses, the angrier his MAGA base gets.  Republicans have entered slice and dice politics and the red meat their carving up and throwing to the crowd is their own.  Very nice.

Al Jazeera has called the move by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade 'so far out of the mainstream,' which I find fascinating.  Al Jazeera knows a little bit about extremism, so when they say the current actions by the Supreme Court are out of the mainstream, they're talking about serious extremism.

Finally, Chuck Schumer is having the Senate vote today to... well, they're not going to get enough votes to codify the WHPA, but every Republican and every Democrat who vote against it will publicly identify as being against a woman's right to choose.  You see, this whole thing is about choice.  It's not about anti-abortion or pro-abortion, it is about choice.  Those who are against choice will lose.

 

Republicans believe Women are Stupid

 Well, good morning people!  Today begins a 5-day stretch without work!  Now, while that is nice, most importantly, the temps are supposed to be in the mid to upper 70s (F).  That means yard work, which will start this afternoon with a mowing of the lawn.

Soon, the flowering will begin!

Yesterday work was... meh.  No measures, no sales.  I was asked to tape and tidy up boxes of vinyl plank flooring, however the store is out of packing tape. We're also out of shrink wrap, something we wrap our rolls of cut carpet in to make them easier to maneuver.  This running out of 'essentials' always happens at the end of the fiscal month, or fiscal quarter, or fiscal year.  Shrink wrap and tape are an expense.  It's bad business to put an expense on your books when you're trying to end your month, quarter, or year with a bang... or, since we're not making our plan, not too deep in the hole.

I did get my car back yesterday.  No more Jeep Wrangler Sport.  This is a good thing.

One of the things I debated about when I bought my new computers was storage.  I had already owned a 1TB SSD drive, so I couldn't see paying Alienware a fortune for another 1TB.  Still, video games take up space... a lot of space.  While that is true, it's also true that I once I get bored with a game, I delete it.  What I ended up doing was buying a 512GB SSD drive just for games for a 1/4 the price Alienware was going to charge me.  

Of course, yesterday the Senate voted to give the Supreme Court justices and their families added police protection.  I wonder if this is because they suspect things are going to get worse before they get better.

One of the most surprising things of this Roe v Wade fiasco the court has put themselves in, is their apparent belief that women are stupid.  This is no doubt based on the conservative male's determination that they are the superior sex, that women are stupid.  Not only that, this antiquated guy's club also believes women should be 'barefoot and pregnant.'  The ending of Roe v Wade is intended to put women back in their proper place.  Republican men need a patriarchal society in order to define their masculinity.  Of course, this is all horse shit to a majority of Americans, something conservatives will never understand.

And, finally, Republicans believe that come November, women will put vote for the economy over their right to choose.  Can you hear me laughing at that?  This is the premise they are counting on.  Lyndsey Graham said as much, that in November people will be more concerned about the economy than the right to choose.  As I've said, Republicans believe women are stupid.

Fallout

 Well, yesterday was... different.  After dropping off my car at the repair shop, I was chauffeured to Enterprise to pick up my rental.  I had already decided that I would ask for an SUV; I hate sitting low to the road.  My agent, a young man named Sean who looks very much like a shorter version of my friend Justin, who's 6 feet 6 inches, surprised me with my options, which were limited.  That's right, there was not a great selection.  What I ended up with was this:

That's right, I'm in a Jeep.  It's okay.  I told a friend last evening that if I was ever wealthy enough to feel I needed to own 2 cars, a jeep might be one... but then again it might not.

As I said, yesterday turned out to be...different.  

Sadly, most of the day was spent scanning news releases and social media for opinions on the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v Wade, (with a smidgen of interest in the Ohio primary).  Some conclusions:

A majority of Americans now see the Supreme Court as a political tool of the far right.  Evidently Alito affirmed this when he said, "our decisions are not dependent upon public opinion."

There are a lot of whispers that the leak was done on purpose, hoping the fallout will be over by the midterms.

The only ones happy about the decision are Republicans, who are more concerned about the leak.  However, the shit sock that hit them in the face yesterday, is going to hit them in the face again at the end of June when their decision is made official.  They are too giddy to understand the coming repercussions, and this is important, because they don't see it as a shit sock.   This is evidenced by Lyndsey Graham's comment about this will probably have some impact on the midterms. Of course, when have conservatives ever demonstrated any concern for anything other than their own selfish objectives?  

Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski?  The Conservative Boys Club they wanted to so much be a part of has just shit on them both.  People are calling Collins and easily duped dumbass.  Her political career is now over, and the Conservative Boys Club doesn't care.  These women are no longer useful.

Republicans will never understand that being selfish and self-centered doesn't make them smart.  This is their ultimate "shut up!  We're in charge!" moment.

JD Vance won the senate primary in Ohio.  He was backed by Trump.  Mandel, who had been a moderate, flipped into a radical rightist lost.  Had he stayed moderate, like DeWine, the Governor, he might have won.  I do not have too much confidence Vance will carry the election, being a Trumper, the Supreme Court decision will most likely doom his candidacy.

This is What Happens

 I get to take my car to the repair shop this morning.  They're going to fix the damage from when the bitty rock bounced up and hit my fog light.  I asked how long?  Their replay:  "We don't exactly know.  Everything depends upon if there's any 'hidden' damage."  I'm figuring on 3 or 4 days.

Biggie's carprofen arrives today.  He seems to have been doing well with just the gabapentin, so his dosage may be doled out sparingly. 

And, of course, everyone's topic, as I don't doubt will be the case for every blog I read, the leaked document from the Supreme Course will get my little opinionizing comments. 

First off, I'm going to remind all those non-voters of 6 years ago that this is what you didn't vote for; this is also the reason why it should make it self-mandatory to vote.  This is what happens when you say, "I don't really like either candidate."  For those of you who believed the polls and didn't vote because you were sure Hillary was going to win?  This is what happens.

Has anybody been keeping count of the number of times Susan Collins has said that Brett Kavanaugh told the Senate he would not overturn Roe vs Wade?  Well, the drunken frat boy lied and now she's going to be walking around with shit in her pants for the rest of her life.

This is what happens when you don't vote and a moral degenerate wins the election, a man who will give his base anything in order to get re-elected.  This is what happens when you give a socially conservative party control: they will destroy everything you hold dear.  Believe me, abortion is just their first target.

What I really find interesting is the timing of this decision, 6 months away from the mid-term elections.  while the anti-abortionists are dancing in the streets, I do not doubt that largest voting bloc in America let out a gasp of horror.  While there are a number in that bloc who claim to be pro-life, a large majority of them believe the choice for terminating a pregnancy should be theirs, and their alone.  This group does not want to be told they have no choice.  This group believes all decisions about pregnancy should be there, and there's alone.  They want to be responsible for their own bodies.  And it's 6 months from the mid-term elections.

Interestingly, running up to the primaries in Pennsylvania, for the past 2 weeks big John Fetterman has been running ads pertaining to Roe v Wade.  Big bold headlines:  They are going to take this away from you if you let them.  He's right.  This November, Democrats, and Independents, and even Centrist Republicans need to teach conservatives a lesson.  Vote Blue.
