Kissing Ass

So, I looked at the calendar this morning and saw that today's Friday.  My doesn't time fly when we're having fun? 
"The Body in the Well" is moving along nicely.  Over 54,000 words.  I'm prepping to write the next snakey part.  I know a lot of people reading the title don't exactly know what a well looks like, at least not the one I'm talking about.  They think of either a pipe sticking out of the ground or a round, stone well in which you might toss a coin to get a wish.  Nah.  One hundred and twenty odd years ago, when they dug a hole in the ground and ran a pipe down.  People used a hand pump to get water.  Sometimes when they abandoned these wells they covered them up.  Sometimes they didn't.  The well I'm talking about looks a lot like this:

I guess the Idiot Jerk in the White House held a rally in Minneapolis last evening.  His crazies showed up.  He shrieked something about 'Biden knowing how to kiss Obama's ass.'  Yeah, he did, to an audience that's almost entirely white.  Let me tell you, they are all quite angry.  Their little tinfoil dictator is teetering on the edge.  Everyday seems to bring new, and culpable evidence of his corruption.  Yesterday they arrested 2 of Rudy's henchies.  They had one way tickets out of the country.  You know, the two who bragged openly about their connections with the Idiot Jerk in the White House?  And... oh... dear me... Rudy also seems to have been involved with Turkey... and a gold trader.  You know?  Turkey, the country that just invaded northern Syria to kill our allies...   Yeah, you know who I'm talking about.  The country that just took delivery of a missile defense system from their ally Russia (bet Vlad made some big buckos there).  As more evidence is revealed, we  now know Rex Tillerson was not fired so much for his ineptness, rather he seems to have been let go because he refused to kiss the Idiot Jerk's ass.  Rudy does that well.  Rudy's in big, big trouble.  And you can bet the Idiot Jerk is nervously wondering if Rudy might flip to save his skinny ass.

Outrage in the UK!

I hope I wasn't the only one who realized that when the Idiot Jerk in the White House retweeted those Racist, Alt-Right videos the shit was going to hit the fan.  What was funny was that what I initially saw was a little, itsy, bitsy blurb which, after I clicked on it, seemed to explode across the Internet.  I mean, it went all over the world!  And only the Alt-Right was happy.  If I'm correct, there's a petition circulating in the UK to keep the Idiot Jerk from ever setting foot in the country again.  This fool is an ignoramus.  My money says that those retweets pretty much squatted down on his already terrible approval rating and dumped a steamy load.
Oh, and more joyous news for the Republicans!  They had to shelve the vote on the Senate version of their tax cut until today because... it was falling apart.  I understand it was short by 3 votes... deficit problems.  It seems as though in order for them to give tax cuts to corporations and the wealthy, they will need to eliminate benefits and raise taxes on those Red State people who need them the most... ahhh, now isn't that a shame.  But then this has always been a hurdle they can never get over, ever since they days of Ronald Reagan, where Trickle Down Economics ended up pissing on the lower and middle classes.
And what about Rex Tillerson leaving?  Word of this happening has been floating around for months... and he's being replaced by Mike Pompeo, a man who thinks like the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  This Fools Parade is just getting crazier and crazier - and is definitely not the way you win support or grow your shrinking base.

As for the Outrage in the UK, word is going around that a planned trip there by the Idiot Jerk has been put on hold - they say he was supposed to open a new US Embassy - until some future date.  And chance he had of meeting the Queen when he does go, if he goes, has pretty much been flushed down the shitter.  I'm sure his Administration is trying to provide him some solace for this loss by arranging for a quickie with his Bromo pal Vlad.

Not the Nate I'm thinking of

Had my pre-op blood work done this AM and it took longer than I had anticipated.  Three tubes!  So now I'm running a bit behind.
Apologies to Rozzie for calling her Roxie yesterday, saw the error of my dyslexic fingers and couldn't correct until I got home.
Oh, and surprisingly, today is Friday and for once it actually is my Friday.  I was going to help my brother move... but now with lifting restrictions that's out.  Besides, I suspect his wife is still shriekingly angry at me for suggesting I put their dead cat in the freezer.  That, and wanting them to deal with their responsibility while they were on vacation. 
And more and more stories are filling up space regarding Rex Tillerson and the Moronic Idiot Jerk in the White House... (tell me, am I getting redundant?).  While I was waiting for them to use a needle to suck the blood out of my arm this morning, I perused a number of stories, mostly detailing the incompetence of the Idiot Jerk while filling his cabinet positions.  Bad hiring, they're calling it, compounded by the fact that he, himself, is a fucking moron... at least I think that's how Rex classified his boss.
And Nate, a name I've always liked, most likely because of a some sort of pre-conceived image of someone I've never met, looks like he's gearing up to hit the Gulf Coast on Sunday.  That's right, another hurricane is aiming for Trumplvania.  This is what you call really bad Karma.

So, yesterday I drove down to the Lebanon VA Hospital to speak to my surgeon.  Interestingly, he told me that my hernia was old, that I'd had it for some time, and that my going to the gym regularly, strength training, and extensive bits of cardio had exacerbated the problem.  What ever... it's getting fixed on November 14, which is 6 days after my birthday.  What I have to look forward to is 2 days of discomfort, 12 days of Rest and Relaxation, and then 2 more weeks before I'm fit enough to start hitting the gym again.  I cannot wait.
After my consultation, I stopped in to take a pee and saw large poster of an attractive man holding an ax posted above the urinal.  What caught my eye was the headline:  Don't fear the finger.

Now, even though this was meant to be taken seriously, I had to laugh, in fact, I'm still laughing.  In fact, I suspect there are a lot of men out there, both gay and straight, who will be laughing with me.

Oh, and evidently Rex Tillerson may, or may not have, called the Idiot Jerk in the White House a moron.  An article in the Washington Post pretty much indicates that because this is making headlines, it's a pretty good indicator that he is in a death spiral.  We all know that the Idiot Jerk is cursed with an horrendous ego problem, and he must find the idea that one of his cabinet members my possibly have called him a moron must be shattering.  As I said to Rozzie, maybe we should start a pool, wagering which rat will jump ship next.

Republican Kobayashi Maru

Okay, so I was at the Optometrist this AM - and I had my eyes dilated so right now everything is very, very bright.  As the assistant administered the drops, she said, "oh, you have blue eyes, which means the dilation might last longer."  Yippee.
And what about that Republican Cluster Fuck going on down in DC?  The Idiot in the White House wants a vote on Health Care!  He wants the ACA gone.  He wants Sessions out!  Tillerson wants to resign! (He was there during the Idiot's 2 + hour meeting with Putin and now realizes that the Idiot is Evil Incarnate)!  And if the vote today fails Price is FIRED!  Now I know I didn't get it all, but I think those are some of the juicier bits.  At this point, all those crazy Conservatives who have spewed nothing but hatred towards the Democratic Party and the ACA for year are in a "no win situation."  This is their Kobayashi Maru.  If they give the Idiot what he wants, their political careers, for all intents and purposes, are over, at least for a majority.  If they deny his demand the shit storm that will follow will end their political careers forever, and again at least for the vast majority.  They put themselves in this position, and they will all pay the price.  They have doomed the Republican Party - but that's fine.  Just watch out for flying body parts!
While Big Seig was running around in the yard yesterday and bug of unknown origin stung him over his left eye.  There was a bit of swelling until he scratched it open, giving himself an eye booboo.  It's has pretty much healed over today, but last night?  I was thinking that I'm probably going to have to take him to the Vets today.
