Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Photogenic Excuses

Okay, sometime today, or this evening, Flo is going to make landfall.  Torrential rains are forecast.  Because she's a bitch, she might just choose to sit on her ass for a couple of days and piss all over the Carolinas.  I'm not talking buckets here, I'm talking feet.  If you're in a low lying region, run for the hills, literally.  Getting hit by a wall of moving water is just like running headfirst into a wall of bricks.
Oh, and the guy from FEMA says they only gave $10 million to ICE.
On a lighter note, Betsy DeVos got a boot up her ass.  Where as the Obama administration had a problem with predatory schools, Betsy doesn't.  She doesn't see anything wrong with a school that lies to you, makes phony promises, and fakes statistical records in order to sign you up for high interest loan.  To Betsy, that's just American Capitalism.  Her government should not have to police these scavengers.  If you sign on that dotted line, then you, and you alone, are responsible for the financial wreckage that loan will cost.  Except 18 states, plus the District of Columbia, sued ol' Betsy, and a Federal Judge said they were right and she was wrong.  So far there's been no comment from the Department of Education.  No doubt Betsy doesn't know how to respond to someone telling her to "just shut up."
On the even funnier side of things, articles are beginning to pop up about the mid-terms.  Conservative political pundits are scratching their heads.  They don't understand how, with the economy this good, so many can hate the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  His approval rating has dropped to 39.9 - that's really terrible, especially with an economy that's this good.  These conservatives believe if you're making money, you should be happy with any scumbag sitting in the Oval Office.  They don't understand why people don't say "well, so what if he's a reprehensible dick, I'm making money."  And they are muttering about the up coming elections, about how that non-Hispanic Ted Cruz is struggling against that Irish guy Beto O'Rourke, (don't let the last name fool you, Beto is proud of his Hispanic heritage).  I saw one article in which the suggestion was made that Beto must be surging in the polls because he was more photogenic than Ted...

These people are so fucking stupid.  Their tones are low as they discuss other Senate races, the ones they thought of as sure things.  What did they think was going to happen?  Did they really think a majority of the American People were just going to sit back and swallow their shit?  And instead of dealing with the problem, they're looking for photogenic excuses.

Soon

Okay, so here it is Wednesday... and I get to go back to work.
Weather wise?  Overcast with showers, occasional showers and thunderstorms for the next week and a half.  Hell, we're going to sell a shit load of Mold Control!
And it's only going to get worse.  My niece posted an aerial pic of the beach house they're supposed to be staying in... next week.

Notice I said 'supposed.'  There's a good possibility that come Friday that house will have moved much farther inland, piece by piece.  I understand the Idiot Jerk said that Florence is going to be tremendously wet...  Shit, is his mind always in the gutter?  He also said the response to Hurricane Maria was a success (notice, I didn't include the adjective he used).  Of course, since the number of Puerto Ricans living in the Carolinas is a lot less than say... oh, Puerto Rico, things might go better for them.  Well, maybe not, I understand the government has been transferring a lot of funds from the FEMA account to the ICE account.  Illegal aliens, you know?  We'll find out soon enough, won't we?
And there's this little project I've been working on for nearly a year and a half.  Looks like things are finally going to be coming to fruition... and no, I'm not talking about the cantaloupes I planted in the kitchen, though the vines are coming along quite nicely.  Certain things have become indelibly woven into the intricacies of this project.  One of those things which has proven to be integral is the song below.  It's also great for cardio, in case you're wondering.

So, when will this project be revealed?
Soon.

...Action...

Sunday, and some of you are sleeping in.  Not me.  I got a 6.25 mile ride in.  I'm happy with that since my last ride was 13 days ago.  One thing I'm going to start is Training Sessions rather than ride.  Even though you may want to think that has something to do with our pixie from Hell Attorney General, it has more to do with building leg strength.  Tomorrow will be my first shot.  I've chosen a 30 minutes workout.  We shall see how it goes.
Outside we have overcast skies - showers and possible thunderstorms are on the way.  The high temp is supposed to top off at around 66 F.  Now ain't that ducky?
My vacation is now 8 days away.  I can not wait.
Oh, and we are now in hurricane season.  True most of the whopper storms don't get here until the fall, but we've already had Albert... or was it Alberto?  Don't quite remember.  Evidently everything that has sustained winds of over 39 mph is being named.  I suspect the weather pattern we are in now might be an bi-product of Albert... or Alberto.  We're supposed to be getting stronger storms this year... global warming, you know?  That thing Conservatives desperately want to deny.  I mean, portions of the coastline becoming uninhabitable?  Preposterous.
Sad to see that "Solo" is slowly failing tat the box office.  This is a painful lesson for Disney.  There is not an unquenchable appetite for all things Star Wars.  From what I've read, however, this film had problems from the start.  Two directors that weren't meeting expectations were fired and Ron Howard was brought in..... Ron Howard.  Now, I like some of his films.  "A Beautiful Mind" was very, very good.  However, when I think of possible directors for high paced, science fiction, adventure films his name does not dance gracefully to the tip of my tongue.  And Alden Ehrenreich, who was good in "Hail Caesar," was apparently miscast.  Not every actor is an action / adventure hero.  That's a shame.

Still, I'm fairly certain I'll go see it either Wednesday or Thursday evening.

Not the Nate I'm thinking of

Had my pre-op blood work done this AM and it took longer than I had anticipated.  Three tubes!  So now I'm running a bit behind.
Apologies to Rozzie for calling her Roxie yesterday, saw the error of my dyslexic fingers and couldn't correct until I got home.
Oh, and surprisingly, today is Friday and for once it actually is my Friday.  I was going to help my brother move... but now with lifting restrictions that's out.  Besides, I suspect his wife is still shriekingly angry at me for suggesting I put their dead cat in the freezer.  That, and wanting them to deal with their responsibility while they were on vacation.
And more and more stories are filling up space regarding Rex Tillerson and the Moronic Idiot Jerk in the White House... (tell me, am I getting redundant?).  While I was waiting for them to use a needle to suck the blood out of my arm this morning, I perused a number of stories, mostly detailing the incompetence of the Idiot Jerk while filling his cabinet positions.  Bad hiring, they're calling it, compounded by the fact that he, himself, is a fucking moron... at least I think that's how Rex classified his boss.
And Nate, a name I've always liked, most likely because of a some sort of pre-conceived image of someone I've never met, looks like he's gearing up to hit the Gulf Coast on Sunday.  That's right, another hurricane is aiming for Trumplvania.  This is what you call really bad Karma.

Here's a nice Nate for you
And so it's off to work, on my Friday that's actually a Friday.

Here comes Irma

Well, today is Wednesday and I get to go back to work after a single day off.  I do really hate having my days off split, two in a row is just fine with me, however split days off is a lot better than working 8 days in a row.
My knew trainer arrives today.  That little green machine should be waiting for me on the porch when I get home this evening.  The credit for the bad one, the CycleOps, has already been issued to my Amex.  Amazon is very good.  The online retailer who shipped it to Amazon to sell?  They're blaming the whole thing on... you guessed it, Amazon.  For those who don't know, when something gets returned to Amazon, it does not go back on 'the shelf.'  Returns are shipped to separate facilities where determinations are made regarding possible resale as used merchandise.  Used merchandise sent to Amazon as 'new' but which is either defective or used will either be destroyed or sent back to the online retailer with a charge being put on that retailer's account.  How do I know this?  The husband of one of the guys I work with works at one of these facilities.
And how about Irma?   I feel sorry for those people down in Florida because FEMA is just about out of money.  If this hurricane goes up the center of Florida, as some are now predicting, the destruction will be catastrophic.  Florida is flat as a pancake.  The only good thing that might happen is that Ann Coulter has a home in Florida, right alone the Eastern Seaboard, and with a little luck... well, you know, that if it gets destroyed that Peroxide Blonde, White Supremacist Pin-up Girl is going to be demanding Aid from the Federal Government.

Maybe she ought to just suffer a little.
Finally, I saw where some member of the GOP are concerned that the Idiot Jerk's decision to shit on DACA might lose them Latino Voters....  Do they really think that losing those 37 people who voted for the Idiot Jerk is really going to matter?

Drudge, Trump, and the New TV

So much funniness going on, really, I mean Matt Drudge and the Hurricane.  Sounds like the title of a juvenile adventure novel, doesn't it?  The Washington Post hit's this nail right on the head, well, almost so, they do fail to acknowledge that if any of Drudge's followers actually do fail to evacuate, and do happen to die, their surviving family members will sue him for "wrongful death."
And then there are those Krazy Kristians trying to defend Trump's pussy remarks.  People like Rita Cosby and Phil (don't look at my dick) Robertson and some one named Pastor Mark Burns.  This last guy has actually said in a Tweet that Trump has repented... does this guy have any functional neurons left in his brain?  And Rita?  She did the crazy bit on her WOR radio program.  I checked her out on Wikipedia and her career seems to be in a slow, slow decline as she moves farther and farther to the right.  The next thing you know she'll be wearing an aluminum foil hat.
And what about that Krazy Plane, the Trump Campaign? It's almost as funny as the end of "The Interview."  Sure, it is Trump and not Kim Jung (something  or other), but if you look at any recent picture of him, and cup your hand round your ear, you can almost hear Katy Perry singing "Firework."
Finally, my new Sony UHD 4K TV arrives this morning.  Pilot Freight is delivering it, not FedEx or UPS.  They will actually unpack it, set it up, and plug it in to make sure it's not broken.  Amazon is starting to do this with Flat Screens.  Smart move.  Anyway, as a means of celebrating, I order the new Gears of War Xbox Slim.  It arrived last night.

As you can see, it's red to go with my living room.  Unfortunately I have to work this afternoon, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to really set it up.  That's okay.  I'm the patient sort.
