The Butterfly

It's Friday, June 18.  Juneteenth.  Thanks to our racist president who originally decided to hold a racist rally in Tulsa, the site of what's considered the worst racist massacre of black people by whites, now everybody knows what Juneteenth is... except his supporters.  They just don't care.  They never will.  And they do love to wear their little red hats.

Yesterday was fairly busy at the Flooring Desk.  Not only is Harrisburg the capital of Pennsylvania, Mechnicsburg is also home to one of the largest Naval Distribution Centers on the East Coast.  Recessions or depressions rarely effect us.  Because of this, many of the stimulus checks the government sent out were banked.  As things begin to open up, people are itching to spend that little bonus.  What the hell is wrong with people.  I banked mine.  Just because you have a little extra cash doesn't mean you need to run out and fritz it away.  There is the possibility things might get worse before they get better.  Money in the bank is a very good thing.

In case you didn't see it, the Supreme Court handed the Idiot Jerk and Conservative racist hacks another turdcicle yesterday.  They did not like the flavor: Rejection.  Little Stevie Miller must be beside himself.  That wasn't the only major disappointment he had to deal with yesterday.  Facebook shut down a lot of re-election ads because they used a hate symbol, a cute little design Nazi's used to designate political prisoners.  The Nazi's a number of little markings to identify their hate.  You can bet Stevie Miller knows them all.

And they're lining up outside the BOK Arena in Tulsa already.  I guess this means the tickets were General Admission only.  Unless you happen to be a particularly powerful racist, or a bottle blonde with perky, little tits, then you get to stand behind the Idiot Jerk as he shrieks out his hatred.  This is going to be amazing.  They do not understand.  Against the background of the Pandemic and the Protests, every little racist second is going to be amplified and sent around the world.  This is not only how they isolate themselves, but wrap themselves in failure.  Independent voters are going to get to see a real shit show.

Finally, when I got home from work yesterday, I saw something colorful landing on the gravel in front of my car: a pretty butterfly.  I have no idea what kind of butterfly it is, but I did take a picture.  I was a bit amazed since we usually don't see butterflies like this around here.

Simply Glacial

Well, we got snow, a little over three inches.... and we got rain, a steady drizzle... and the temperature is above freezing.  For now.  I shoveled off the back porch and steps and it's... heavy.  I'm also supposed to be at work by 8 and that may not happen.  In a few short hours the temperatures are supposed to plummet, a lot like the Idiot Jerks approval ratings, as we enter the Quick Freeze stage of the Arctic Blast... or whatever they call it.  Around 1 PM high winds are going to grace the countryside with wind chills that can reach 20 (F) below zero.  Oh, and I'm scheduled to work until 4:30 PM.  I seriously suspect I may be using a personal day.  My sidewalks need to be cleared because... the desk arrives on Tuesday and by the time I do get home things will be rather glacial.

Something else that was rather glacial?  The little turd the Idiot Jerk floated yesterday in a meager attempt to get the Democrats to fund his wall.  Yeah, he offered to give Dreamers a temporary protected status, emphasis on the word temporary.  Well, the Democrats said "no," and, of course, many Republicans apparently joined them, though for a much different reason.  Republicans hate immigrants.  White Racists, like Ann Coulter, see it as Amnesty and immediately rejected the plan.  In fact, Ann sniped with a nasty Tweet, but then what else would expect from a 'whites only" spinster.  Oh, and in case you are wondering, at 57 years of age, this bottled blond is a spinster:  57 years old, never married, no children.  One suspects her vagina is a frigid as my sidewalk's going to be this afternoon.  Which makes one wonder if her boyfriend (I think she pays for services rendered) uses pinions.
Anyway, I'm going to eat my breakfast and then go out and use the noisy shovel and experience the joys of Free Cardio!  Just think of all the calories I'm going to burn.  I'm going to be so hot I'll turn into a walking melt and dry machine!  Are you jealous yet?

Here comes Irma

Well, today is Wednesday and I get to go back to work after a single day off.  I do really hate having my days off split, two in a row is just fine with me, however split days off is a lot better than working 8 days in a row.
My knew trainer arrives today.  That little green machine should be waiting for me on the porch when I get home this evening.  The credit for the bad one, the CycleOps, has already been issued to my Amex.  Amazon is very good.  The online retailer who shipped it to Amazon to sell?  They're blaming the whole thing on... you guessed it, Amazon.  For those who don't know, when something gets returned to Amazon, it does not go back on 'the shelf.'  Returns are shipped to separate facilities where determinations are made regarding possible resale as used merchandise.  Used merchandise sent to Amazon as 'new' but which is either defective or used will either be destroyed or sent back to the online retailer with a charge being put on that retailer's account.  How do I know this?  The husband of one of the guys I work with works at one of these facilities.
And how about Irma?   I feel sorry for those people down in Florida because FEMA is just about out of money.  If this hurricane goes up the center of Florida, as some are now predicting, the destruction will be catastrophic.  Florida is flat as a pancake.  The only good thing that might happen is that Ann Coulter has a home in Florida, right alone the Eastern Seaboard, and with a little luck... well, you know, that if it gets destroyed that Peroxide Blonde, White Supremacist Pin-up Girl is going to be demanding Aid from the Federal Government.

Maybe she ought to just suffer a little.
Finally, I saw where some member of the GOP are concerned that the Idiot Jerk's decision to shit on DACA might lose them Latino Voters....  Do they really think that losing those 37 people who voted for the Idiot Jerk is really going to matter?
