Simply Tasty

Well, I head back to work today.  Now, isn't that thrilling news?  Dealing with customers?  One thing that will keep foot traffic down will be the high temps.  We're supposed to crest the 100 (F) wave today... and tomorrow.  In fact, tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter then today.  And if you decide to shop my store, don't expect the A/C to cool you off the moment you walk through the door.  Nope.  It's going to be roasty toasty because we have so many large doors that allow in the smothering heat.  For example, one of our roll-up doors in the back of the building is  twenty feet wide, and it's open most of the day to accept deliveries.

Of course, this is a mini work week.  In 4 days I'll begin another 6 day vacation and shortly after that I'll have another 3 weeks vacation on the books.

I made one of my favorite dishes yesterday for dinner, Shrimp Lo Mein.  Simply tasty.

I understand the figures from the last census get released today and there's fear the Republicans are going to use them to gerrymander the country to hell in order to stay in power.  This is... rather amusing.  Why?  Well one of the pre-release tidbits that came out yesterday is that the country is rapidly diversifying.  Translation?  White people simply aren't making enough babies.  All I have to do is look at my nieces and nephews to see the truth in that.  And the Republican Party is the party of the white voter, a party that is in deep denial about the changes happening in America.  They don't seem to understand that at some point their grandchildren are going to begin paying the price for this denial.

Ah, well, this is how it goes.

 

It's the Virus, Stupid

I use a Lenovo tablet as an alarm clock... actually, I use it for a number of things but rather than set the alarm on my phone or an actual clock, I use the tablet.  Two days ago they did an update.  Two days ago they did an update... and every app was disabled.  Now it has facial recognition, but this morning my alarm didn't go off because... the update turned it off.  I do wish that information had been included in the notes.

I saw where the Federal Agents are being pulled out of Seattle.  I suppose the Idiot Jerk in the White House realized that his show of force wasn't doing a damn thing to improve in ratings in the polls.  He is so damn stupid.  In his tiny Republican mind he thinks he's going to be able to do something which will make America forget about Covid.  Wrong.  Back when Bill Clinton beat Bush the Elder, there was a popular catch phrase which drove the Conservatives bonkers.  "It's the Economy, Stupid."  Well, the same thing applies to the Idiot Jerk.  "It's the Virus, Stupid."  Everywhere people start dying where ever people begin to die.  Because those voters realize he's a lying sack of shit.  He and his spawn started pumping that lie about Hydroxi again and their ads got shot down.  At this point, there is nothing he can actually do to save his presidency and conservatives are pissed, they bet the bank on him and they're going to lose it all.

And finally, another bit of Ha Ha.  If you took the 2020 census, you might remember on the race questions, there a list of nationalities considered to be white.  I posted about it back then since the federal government decided Egyptians were white.  I have no problem with that.  However, they didn't list Iranians, perhaps they believe they're Arabic.  With this is mind, which of these two gents is the Egyptian.

Well, it's Friday and there is no rain forecast which means there should be no tornado warnings and no flood warnings.  We did get some substantial downpours yesterday afternoon, but nothing pressing enough for us at the store to 'head to higher ground.'
My, aren't things ramping up in the Trade Wars?  Now, the Idiot Jerk in the White House wants to pop a 5% tariff on all goods coming in from Mexico because he hates them Spanish speaking brown people.  That's going to hurt, but then he likes hurting people. 
I saw Kim Dumb Shit purged people who he blamed for his failed summit with the Idiot Jerk... and for him the easiest way to purge is to execute.  I don't know if he fed anybody to the dogs, but I'd say that's a possibility.
Oh, and apparently the racist reason for the citizenship question on the next census is seeping to the surface:  gerrymandering.  That's right. White Supremacist Republicans are looking for a way that will make gerrymandering voting districts easier, they want to insure every white vote gets counted.  They see no value in Spanish speaking voters.
And Sean Hannity tried to excoriate the media last night.  The Idiot Jerk in the White House has been having a really bad couple of days and Sean is pissed off!  Actually, I think all Republicans are pissed!  Of course, they're going to blame the media rather than the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  From Mueller's refusal to exonerate the Idiot Jerk, to the Navy having to move the USS John McCain, to Tweets admitting the Russkies helped him get elected (since been deleted), the amount of shit coming out of the Idiot Jerk has surged to a level akin to diarrhea from hell.  And American Voters are looking at this and saying..."Hell, this guy's a real shit bag."
Anyway, still no news from KDP on when the paperback version of The Body in the Tower will be ready for purchase.  They say it can take up to 72 hours.  Patience is a virtue.  And don't forget those reviews.  They actually create a cascading effect, more reviews lead to higher sales which, hopefully, lead to higher sales.
Finally, a palette cleanser.  I have a white rose bush and in between the storms yesterday I took couple of pictures.

Now, ain't that nice?  Their heady scent perfumes the air.
