Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

70

It's 45 (F) outside, the high today is supposed to be 59 (F).

Today is my birthday.  Hold onto you seats, a little less than an hour ago, I turn 70.  Holy Shit!

My sister, my brother, and I cannot stop laughing.  Son of a bitch!  I can remember sitting in 3rd grade, and 4th grade, in fact most of my school years, thinking this day was so far into the future I would never see it happening.  Yet, here it is.  I laugh loudly, I'm very opinionated (usually right, but not always), and am eagerly looking forward to the next 70 years.  I am not kidding (did you know I'm a bit of a smartass?).

This morning I saw that People magazine has name Chris Evans the Sexiest Man in the world.  He's only 41.  Do you think he's too young?

In about 1/2 hour, I'm going to be driving down to the Lebanon VA for a physical.  Now, how's that for a birthday present to myself?

Yesterday, I cancelled my Sirius XM because my promotion ran out.  That $5.99 a month was suddenly replaced with $23.17, or about a little less for what I'd pay for 4 months.  Ouch.  You have to call to cancel, you can't do it over the internet because they want to try and use another promotion to keep you as a subscriber.  Of course, there would be another nasty surprise when that promotion ran out, so I cancelled.  I can still listen, but I'll have to deal with commercials.  I was beginning to have problems anyway, like with their Top 18 count down, which repeats several times daily.  It's a way for them to not have to pay a DJ.  Sirius is okay, but not worth the $$$ hassle.  It was through Sirius that I got introduced to Matt Maeson.  Take a listen.  This guy can sing.

It's also Election Day.  Will I get a nice Democratic birthday present?  I'm hoping so, covered with Blue paper, and topped with a Blue Ribbon electorate.  Vote.  Vote. Vote.  Democracy depends upon it.

On Election Day

Vote Blue.

Yesterday I did little except laundry since I will not have another day off until Sunday.  Well, I did more than just that.  I baked bread and made beef stew.  Very tasty.

I understand the Idiot Jerk in the White House had some sort of Twitter freak out in the middle of the night, damning the Supreme Court for not giving him his way in Pennsylvania.  In fact, the Supreme Court, which he packed hoping they would bow down to him, has let the states handle their on decisions in regards to voting.  The only times they've side with the Republicans have been when tried skipping a step in the chain of command.

My brother and I traded some texts last evening.  I think it's safe to say that Evangelical Christians are horrified over the prospects of a Biden presidency.  They've spent years building a coalition of like minded supporters in the Republican party in their attempt to dictate the future of the country, only to see the man they believe was sent by God to aid them failing.  They are all praying for a miracle.  If none happens, well, they'll simply rewrite what's happened over the past four years.  Don't worry, in some way or other they're going to blame Bill Clinton if the Idiot Jerk loses.

Vote Blue

Yep, today's the day we hope to take back our government.  Let's do it with a flourish! and a smile!  and a dance.  Here's a little vid I like of some witches dancing in Germany.  They are part of the world's diversity.  And, I have to admit, I have a bit of an alternative reason for posting this.  Should some unwary Conservative what this, I'm sure it will burn out his / her eyes.

Boo Boo

Oh my, Lily has a boo boo paw.  Nothing scary or frightening, mind you, just a little limp.  In fact, sometimes she forgets about it and jumps around as though there's nothing wrong.  I'm sure she'll be raring to go for our morning walk... outside... in the cold. It's 35 (F) here in Central Pa.  There's a chance of snow flurries on Monday.  And yes, that is my sole day off until next Sunday.

They NYT Cooking section had a recipe for 'old-fashioned beef stew.'  Yum.  Since I am off Monday, and it is supposed to be a bit blustery, I thought I'd cook up a pot.  I used to eat Dinty Moore until I realized there was so much sodium and fat in each can.  Maybe I'll bake a loaf of bread, too.  Now don't that sound tasty?  Freshly baked bread and beef stew on a cold, windy, pre-election day?

I saw where the Idiot Jerk in the White House has cancelled his plans for a large election night extravaganza at his International Hotel in Washington.  Invitations for the 'epic' event had been sent out.  Instead, he's going to be holding a smaller event, possibly at the White House, a place where social distancing is avoided to please the plague.  No actual explanation has been given.  Maybe he's expecting a boo boo moment.

And what about Texas?  The total number of people who have participated in early voting in the 2020 election has now exceeded those who went to the polls in 2016.  Republicans hate this shit.  They believe no one should vote until election day.  They want you to stand in lines and wait.  They want voting to be a difficult process because in their tiny little minds this is a demonstration of party loyalty, and no one is more loyal than a Republican.  In fact, the whole thought process behind voter intimidation is base on that single belief.  But then they've never been too smart, have they?

So, let's show them our inner Halloween and scare the shit out of them!

Boo.... Boo

Election Day

It's Tuesday.  Here in Pennsylvania it's election day.  Celebrate by going to the polls and voting Blue.  Remember, voting straight ticket here is a vote Republican liars like Lisa Grayson.  Put your vote to good use.  In Cumberland County vote for Susan Pickford, she's an Independent, a human being who hasn't sold her soul to the moral degenerate in the White House.
While I was riding my bike last evening, the chain popped off.  This is an easy fix, but when something like that happens it throws me out of sync:  I have to unclick my shoes, get off the bike, pull the rear derailleur down and put the chain back on the sprockets.  Chains are greasy and that gets on my fingers and... well... son of a bitch!  As a result, I only rode 8.4 miles (or there about).  The only good thing to come out of it was I realized I need to buy more latex gloves...

You didn't really think I was going to get my fingers greasy, did you?
I saw where the Idiot Jerk is once again supposed to release 10 years of taxes.  Of course, he's going to appeal that decision to the Supreme Court.  No one thinks they are going to halt the release.  So, will he comply?  This will be interesting.  There is so much dirt in those taxes.  Lies and fakery abound within those deductions.  You can bet that Stephanie Grisham is going to sing how it takes a genius to find so many varied ways of cheating the government.  She has to praise him, you know.  We all know.  The only way to keep your job is to bow and genuflect whenever you're in his presence.
Oh, and he was in the land of Kim Davis last evening pleading for the MAGA heads in that state to vote their governor in for a 3rd term.  Kentucky is supposed to be deeply red... so... why was he there.,, pleading.  Oh, wait, it seems that Matt Bevin, the sure thing, is in trouble.  Andy Beshear is tied in the polls.  Hence, the reason behind the Idiot Jerk having a rally.  Today's election day in that state... we'll have to wait and see if it goes blue. Could be the Idiot Jerk knows his fat ass is soon going to be in the fire poppin' and sizzlin' for all the world to see.

Charged

I ordered some new slippers - they arrive today.  Depending upon the temperature, I'm either barefooted, in socks, or wearing slippers when I'm at home.  I like to keep my tootsies warm when it's cool outside.
My phone is beginning to piss me off.  It's an S8, only 3 years old, and it rarely 'fast charges' anymore, and 'slow charging' has become very, very slow.  Mostly I use my phone for texting, checking my emails, checking news feeds, and, of course, phone calls.  I want to be able to plug it in at night and have it fully charged the next morning.  That's not happening on a regular basis, and I'll be honest, I do send a lot of texts and read a lot of news.  I normally hold onto a phone for at least 4 years and it's irritating that I might have to "update" early.  I can also tell you, I am not alone.  We have a charging station in our lunch room at work and there are always phones being charged.  What I'm looking at is a Google Pixel... less expensive and does everything I need it to do.  But then again, I might just hold onto the S8 for another year or so and deal with the hassle of charging.
The Mumbai Hookers Union posted another comment on my blog....  I guess they'll try and peddle their whores anywhere.
Today's election day here in PA!  I'm going to go vote!  We need to take our government back from the Crazies on the Right.  Normal needs to become the law of the land.
And I saw a Federal Judge handed the Idiot Jerk a defeat in regard to his taxes.  Oh, shit, looks like that's going to move on to the Supreme Court where his boys Brett and Neil will... oh, wait, the Idiot Jerk will long be out of the presidency by the time that happens.
After today, I am scheduled to work for 6 days straight.  Then, I get to have 2 days off before working another 6 days in a row.  Memorial Day, you know?  We have about 2 weeks in which our aisles turn in a 'deal-a-thon' shit show.  Customers will buy this crap and in 3 weeks, when it breaks, they will realize it's nothing but crap and return it.  You would think that by now people might realize that those who actually manufacture these 'deals' are in the business to make money, not give you value for you $$$.  Of course, they don't.  Nope.  They get all charged up to run out and spend their hard earned $$$ on 'special deals' that are anything but special.

Squeak, squeak

My first of 4 days off in a row and.... someone forgot to tell the dogs what 'Daylight Savings Time' is because changing the clock on the wall has done nothing to change their biological clocks.  Their normal time to go outside is between 4 and 4:30 (yes, I get up early).  Now it's between 3 and 3:30.  Isn't Nature wonderful?
And rain is in the forecast for today, and also for tomorrow morning as well.  Originally the forecast had been for Nature's urination to start this morning and run through tomorrow, election day.   The heaviest rains will occur today.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer with occasional showers and storms.  Shitty, rainy weather doesn't bode well for polling when it comes to older, white Republicans.  Standing in a line with an umbrella is not what they want at all.  I suspect that, like the Wicked Witch of the West, they have nightmares about melting.  Democrats, on the other hand, will crawl over broken glass to vote in this election.  I mean, what's a little water, a little pain, for the chance to wipe that shit stained smile off the face of the Idiot Jerk in the White House.
So, does anyone know of Melania has started packing yet?  Oh, wait, did she even unpack?  I suppose her natural inclination would be to just leave everything behind and just buy everything new.
On a lighter note, Lily pulled the squeaky thing from Biggie's brown beaver.  I had to take it from her.  Given the chance dogs will eat those plastic things.

The squeaky thing
Someone should tell Republicans these things aren't natural.  They're going to start gulping them down as the polls start closing and the votes get counted.  By Wednesday the only thing coming out of their mouths will be a squeaking noise.  Of course, that's about all that comes out of their racist mouths now.
Vote Blue.
Let's make these suckers squeak!

The shitty schedule

I'm still here, just working a really shitty schedule this week.  Next week I have off 3 days, scheduled them, it's the only way.  Thanksgiving week is another shitty schedule - only 2 days off, which includes Thanksgiving day.  Lots of openings.  I hate openings.
Well, off to work.
Oh, 11/8 is not only election day, it's my birthday.  I like presents, very expensive presents, just to let you know in advance.
