Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Howie Loves It

Today's going to be our last day of our temps climbing high enough to break past the freezing barrier.  Beginning tomorrow, we'll be starting another week of ice box weather.  However, rather than have a week that the temps can't get out of the teens, we're only going to get one day.  According to the long range forecast, starting on, or around, February 11, we will be enjoying much more moderate temps.

Yesterday was fairly good.  A loaf of bread was baked.  I cleaned.  Did laundry. Got in a decent workout.  All in all, for a Tuesday.  The only fly in the ointment, so to speak, was I went to my Giant supermarket and left my wallet at home.  I haven't done that in, oh... about 4 years.  During the winter I'm usually found at home wearing sweat pants.  While they do have pockets, I don't carry my wallet around with me, it's always on the sideboard.  Yesterday, I left it sitting on the sideboard.  Lucky for me, my neighborhood Giant is only 5 minutes away.  Still, it was a bother having to come for my wallet to pay for my groceries.

Being the experimental culinary type, I sometimes take chances when I'm in the kitchen working on dinner.  Yesterday, I gambled that I could make a meat loaf using both ground turkey and ground beef.  While my brain thought that they might be compatible, in truth, they were not.  Blah!  It's not that it's inedible, or that the flavor's truly bad, it just simply Blah.  On a positive note, Howie loves it.  He had some for dinner last evening, and some for breakfast this morning, and there are two servings sitting in the refrigerator for him.

Mitch McConnell is in the hospital.  Don't start cheering yet, wait a few days and see if God's going to send him to hell, or curse the Senate again.  History is not going to be kind to Mitch.  If being a conservative wasn't bad enough, he was a party man to the core.  Vote Republican.  Vote Republican.   Vote Republican.  No matter how truly vile the bill, not matter how unqualified the cabinet candidate, if the individual was a Republican they were guaranteed to get Mitch's vote.  He is the reason the Orange Anus was not impeached after his first term.  He voted to keep the Orange Anus safe because that would have been a vote against a Republican, and for Mitch that would have be the worst kind of treason.  It was never country first for him, always party first. He is truly an abysmal human being.

And what ever is in the Epstein files that haven't been released must be truly terrible.  Orangie wants to move on.  That ain't gonna happen.  If the Republican party wants to have even the tiniest bit of showing at the midterms,  they should shut him up and keep him out of sight until November.  That will never happen.  His cultists need to see and hear their false god.

Fingers, it's fingers

Well, hello weekend for most people.  I work weekends, but then I have most of the daily, grinding week off while most people work. I got a pretty good deal, I think.

Yesterday, I planted some marigolds and cooked.  Since I will be taking my lunch to work for the next 2 days, I figured I might as well take something tasty.  It will probably come as no surprise to most of you that many associates who have a lunch break take pre-packaged, frozen meals.  There was a time when I did the same thing, but that was many long years ago.  I got tired that there wasn't really a lot of variation in flavor in meal by Marie Callendar, or Swanson.  They have a lot of fat calories and sodium issues, but not a lot of taste, so now I make my own meals and take them.  Today and tomorrow, I'm going to be dining on homemade meatloaf, and homemade scalloped potatoes.  Here's what the potatoes looked like when I popped them from the oven.  Very tasty, let me tell you.

I uploaded another short vid to my YouTube channel.  This one's a bit on the new book and the cover art.  I think everybody in the world can see it.

And for those who missed it, Peter Navarro was taken into custody yesterday, not because he was fomenting the insurrection, this had to do with his ignoring the January 6 committee subpoena asking him to spend some quality time with them.  Being the old, white supremacist he is, Petey boy flipped out.  I watched about 20 seconds of his whiny performance.  That's all it took for me to realize he was cut from the same material as the orange douchebag America fired in 2020.

Is it me, or has anyone else noticed how self-destructive conservatives have become?  Because they are anti-mask, and anti-vaccine more conservatives die from Covid than any other group (it used to be black men, I believe).  Because they are so vehemently pro-gun, they are responsible for more gun deaths among children than any other group.  Anytime someone mentions the word regulation they go into conniptions shrieking "it's my right to make that decision," however, they sure do like to make the rules.  WE must not let them get into power ever again.

On Christmas Day

I hope everybody had a nice and quietly safe Christmas.  I did.  In the morning, I took a Christmas basket over to my movie friend Patty.  She's recovering from Covid.  She tested positive on Tuesday the 15th so her quarantine period is coming to a close.  Keeping safe, I stood outside on the front of her porch and she stayed in the house.  She told me she thought she had a sinus infection and went to First Care.  They tested her because she also had a slight fever and a slight cough.  She did experience some shortness of breath, but mostly she was continually exhausted.  Oh, and she didn't eat.  "It's a hell of a way to lose 10 pounds," she said.

As for myself and the dogs?  Yesterday was quiet.  They got their toys, which have already been forgotten for the most part.  I began a 5K training program on the treadmill which, in 9 weeks, should have me ready to run a 5K race.  We'll see.  The only issue I had, while slowly jogging along to a video from New Zealand, was the music, some sort of 'new age' compilation of songs composed by people who spend way too much time smoking blunts before sitting down at the keyboard.

Dinner was:  meatloaf and scalloped potatoes. And yes, I did wrap the meatloaf in bacon.

For those who took notice, we did get 2 Christmas messages yesterday, one from the exiting failed president which was in the form of a statement released by the White House, the other, a much more personal, video from the Bidens.  Think about it... a written statement vs a video.  One man spoke of how Covid was changing this Christmas, the other released a few paragraphs that barely mentioned it.  One talked to the nation, the other directed his message to a specific group in his base.  This is why America fired the dumb shit.  For him, it is all about making the deal and how it's going to effect his bank account.  In a little over 3 weeks we will be able to say good riddance to this white trash.
