Conservative Inability to Understand

The temps in Central PA just barely dropped below freezing last night and todays temps in the low 40s (F) are going to melt away the last of the mini-ice storm we had.  Next on our precipitation menu is a tad of snow and ice coming tomorrow night.  I don't work, so it doesn't really bother me.

So, I got a call from the store yesterday afternoon asking if I was okay since I didn't show up for work.  It went into my voice mail.  I called them back and told them I had done the call-off thing yesterday morning at 0630.  Well, it never went through, so they had to process my call off manually.  I also got a text from the Flooring Specialist asking if I was okay since I hadn't shown up.  I replied with a text, and that didn't go through, either and then I discovered that T-Mobile, my provider, is working in conjunction with Musk's Starlink.  This is not going to go well.

Since I had some spare time yesterday, I also baked a white cake with peanut butter frosting.  It's quite tasty.  Howie likes it, too.  I was curious to see whether he'd eat his slice like Lily, who was dainty and basically licked her cake, or Biggie, who gulped his cake down whole.  Howie started off licking, but then he gulped.  Here's a pic o the cake.

The Super Bowl was played yesterday.  I didn't watch.  My neighbors did... at first, though their TV wasn't blaring.  It got really quiet when the half-time show started, probably because both of them are in the 50s and prefer 80s rock to Kendrick Lamar.  I watched snippets of the show on YouTube.  I'm not a big fan of rap, but I truly did appreciate the fact that he had no problem giving the Orange Anus the proverbial finger.  I'm hearing a lot of Cultists were not appreciative either.  No matter how desperately they want to turn back the clock to the 1950s, it ain't gonna work.  Mostly what we're in for is a return to the 1960s, but this time it's going to be worse.  Conservatives simply don't understand America, but then they never really cared to learn.  This inability on their part will lead to their destruction.

And just why was the Orange Anus the first sitting president to go to a Super Bowl game?  I do believe in his tiny mind, this as an homage to his blow Bro Vlad Putin.  For those of you who don't know, for years old Vlad used to major sporting events as a way of building his popularity among the Russian people.  It's one of the reasons he could force his regime upon the Russian people: they thought he was one of them.  Sadly, old Vlad hasn't played those gigs over the past few years.  His popularity has wanned.  The Russian economy is in the shitter.  They just reopened their Stock Market MOEX on January 25 after shutting it down because it kept crashing.  Notice, that was 5 days after Orangie took the oath of office.  So far Bangers and Mash is doing much better.  Oh, and in this country the cost of gold is going through the roof.  There's a reason for that, too.

    1. Dr. Jill Biden was there, but I haven't heard any mention of a Bush being present. I would think not since he walked by Trump without acknowledging him at Carter's funeral.

  2. Awww
I know many doggies who LOVE cake!
And I only watched the half-time show and Kendrick did not disappoint. That Uncle Sam was Samuel Jackson and that US flag was made up of Black bodies (not to mention some of the lyrics) did not go unnoticed.
Jabba the Orange loves the adoration of his minions and fancies himself a populist. Asshat.

    1. I have picture of Uncle Sam and was going to use it today, but that cake is so delish. I don't know if you saw any of the clips with Orangie being booed, but they were great.

  3. I like Kendrick Lamar's performance because he said what needed to be said, and got cheered for it.

    1. I watch bits and pieces. It was a very patriotic show, something the cultists can't abide.

  4. I can remember conservatives going ballistic over the hippies or any guy with long hair in the 1960’s. (never mind that their own kids would have long hair in the 1970’s) Even worse for anyone who questioned the war in Viet-Nam, let alone those that protested against it.
(If no one had protested we would still be in Viet-Nam) Conservatives never change because they are reactionary by nature, they can never fit in with a progressing society no matter how hard they try, so they fall back on being regressive as hell and talk of the so called good old days with blinders on to the truth of American history.
Trump only went to the Super Bowl as a stunt to show he’s like everyone else, when he is far from it.
I’m glad the Eagles won the Super Bowl as they have been targets of Trump’s wrath ever since they declined an invitation to the White House in 2018, caused by Trump’s repeated rhetoric of lies.

    1. I remember the 60s, too, and the long hair, and the music. I'm thinking that the protests coming up are going to make those in the 60s look like cake walks. I understand he already rescinded his invitation to the winning team. You know that pisses him off badly, and I'm all for that.
