Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

Oh, my, according to the weather on my computer in about 2 hours gusty winds are predicted.  This means any yardwork I want to do before heading off to work will need to be done now.  Oh, well, the only yardwork on my list is watering the grapes, so I'm pretty much set to go.

Yesterday was a really good day of accomplishment.  I was going to ride the bike, but ended up doing a dumbbell workout instead.  Sometimes, when I ride for too long, I will get leg cramps and last night I went to the movies.  Let me tell you, it can be downright excruciating for your quads to start cramping sitting in a seat at the theater.  Usually, we will sit in the 2nd row behind the handicap accessible space made for wheelchairs.  Rather then a row of seats in front, there are railings and I can stretch my legs between the bars.  No problem.  I've also learned not to ride the bike before a movie.

Oh, and what movie did I see?  The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.  Based on actual events, it's a Guy Ritchie film, a bit on the hyper-violent side, and quite funny at times.  Henry Cavil was one of the stars and I have to admit, I think this was the first time I've ever seen him in a movie.  I never wanted to see his Superman flicks.  The entire cast was good.  If you don't mind the overtop violence, put this on your list.  And, as an interesting side note, one of the characters is Ian Flemming... yes, that Ian Flemming, the one who wrote the James Bond books.

And yesterday was election day in Pennsylvania.  The Democratic race I thought most interesting was the seat held by Scott Perry.  He was uncontested on the Republican side.  The Democrats had a number of candidates vying for the nomination.  The winner was Janelle Stellson.  For years she was a newscaster on the local ABC affiliate station and has unbelievable name recognition.  The one constant in her campaign was her anti-Perry push.  It was constant. While I didn't vote for her, I do believe she has a very good chance of replacing him.

And, of course, yesterday Pecker leaked.  Sorry, I had to do that you know?  For those who don't know, Pecker is the CEO for the National Inquirer, the largest tabloid newspaper in the US.  Back in 2016 he made an agreement with Trump to run fake stories about his competitors, while at the same time quashing stories about Trump's womanizing, and having to pay off porn stars, and hookers to keep them from talking.  Their talking would have hurt Trump's campaign.  So, Pecker helped to shut them up.  What is newsworthy about his testimony, is that Trump has remained relatively silent about it, instead continuing to focus his ire on the judge.

A Doggy Decision

Well, it's Sunday... and I work today.  I'm off tomorrow but then I get to work for 5 days in a row.  Shit.
I could have sold some carpet to a customer yesterday but he's going to wait.  He is retired and he and his wife are buying a place in Florida.  The carpet they are installing installs in 72 work hours after the purchase order is created, and they're not ready.  It was sad because they have a dog, a 5 year old Golden Retriever, which they had with them, and they couldn't take him with them to Florida.  The dog had been adopted and will be going to her new home on Monday.  The couple was very upset.  While I felt bad, I also thought they were pretty damn stupid.  The community where they are moving doesn't allow dogs.  So, they couldn't fine a place that takes dogs?  Don't sit there and give me some sob story when every decision they have made has evidently excluded the dog they say they love.  This couple is only in their mid-sixties.  Did they really need to move now?  They are selling their house in Mechanicsburg, paying to have it painted, and putting in cheap as hell carpet, because he wants to move to Florida.  It was fairly obvious he was the one making the decisions, not her.  May his heart break for a long, long time.
Suunto has come out with a new app which works better than their Moves Count app.  Their new app works well on my inexpensive Asus tablet, so I posted a comment in their forum. and of course I got shit.  You see, the app is designed for phones... and tablets, if you got one.  One guy listed all of his tech equipment, complaining he didn't see any reason to go out and buy tablet as well.  In response, I listed my "equipment" and noted it was easier to take a tablet to the gym.  Of course, I received no replied.  Sometimes it helps to be ballsy.
And, finally, I read in The Hill this morning how people in 'the know' are beginning to believe the National Enquirer's Pecker might end up in jail because it's looking more and more like that rag did, in fact, try to blackmail and extort Amazon's Bezos.  Even though he's old and wrinkly, I'm sure there are some 'attractive' inmates who might find his tired, rich ass attractive.  I'd bet that's one romantic tryst the National Enquirer would not cover...  at least not with lurid pictures on the Front Page.  Of course, like a lot of Peckers, this one's stupid.  The implications that the Idiot Jerk's administration had Bezos' email account hacked is just one more shit storm aiming for the bull's eye asshole in the White House.
Here's a pic of Lily...  A lot of times I post pics of Seig because he's so big and boofy, she, on the other hand, is quite the lady.

Pecking things apart

Okay, so it's Friday.  I get to work today... and tomorrow, and then I'm off for 3 days.  Can I wait?
Yesterday I took off because my friend Patty needed to have some sort of surgery for an Occipital Orbital fracture.  Translation:  she broke her eye socket while walking her dogs... Yorkies, little ones.  Seems like one pulled to the left and the other to the right... and she fell.
Anyway, the surgery was performed at the Hershey Medical Center.  I hate the place.  Way, way too big, with terrible parking.  You can walk a mile (literally) or rely on their valet parking.  Traffic congestion is horrendous, the only thing worse would be having to sit through "How it Ends" a 2nd time.  You need to see the crowds to believe the crowds.  Everybody wants to go there because their medical care is very good.  My friend Betsy was in their Neurological ICU after suffering a serious stroke.  Believe me, it's like walking onto the bridge of the Enterprise.  But there is a price to pay:  crowds of sick people, seriously congested parking, and... the expense.  They are pricey.  Had it been my Occiptal Orbital fracture, I would have asked "Am I going to look like the hunchback of Notre Dame?"

If they'd have said "no," I would have passed on the surgery.  Some of us have serious medical problems that need to be fixed.  There others, however, who buy into the suggestive power of medical professionals we want to trust.  Just remember, these professionals are in a business.  They make money by getting you to buy services which may not be necessary but which do tend to be rather lucrative.
I saw where that Pecker from the National Enquirer has boatloads of shit on our Idiot Jerk president in his vault.  Excuse me, but am I like the only one who understands that "dirt" makes the Idiot Jerk susceptible to BLACKMAIL?  And if Pecker has that much, we probably can't even begin to imagine what's in Putin's vault.  I'm not just talking about 'golden showers' here.
