Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Nothing Spells Irrational like MAGA

When I got up this morning, the outside temp was 54 (F), and the forecast is calling for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon,  After they pass through, temps are predicted to drop a bit, with the high tomorrow in the low to mid 50s (F), the same as we had yesterday.  These are the same storms that passed through Mississippi yesterday.  Will we get tornadoes, too?  So far they're not in the forecast, but then forecasts are not for their accuracy.

I worked yesterday.  Business was middlin,' meaning we had customers in the store until around 3 PM and then things slowed down.  The weather forecast for today hints that business is going to be slow, of course, you never know.  There are always certain individuals whose minds fall to comprehend that during severe weather there a better, and safer, things to do than go to a home improvement store.  Yet they will show up when the scent of ozone is high, with bolts of lightning slamming into the ground a hundred yards away, and expect to have 5 bags of mulch loaded into the back of their SUV.  Sometimes, they will even be wearing a little, red cap because nothing spells irrational like MAGA.

For those interested, Howie's hip measures 21.5 inches off the floor, that's over 54 centimeters.  I tried to measure him at his shoulder but he thought the measuring tape was some sort of new fangled toy.

There was a protest in Harrisburg yesterday, unfortunately, I worked.  As far as I know, there's been nothing at the Tesla dealership, though that's located on a stretch of road heading towards Carlisle, PA, and there's nothing around it except other car dealerships.  Protests do their best when they draw attention.  Standing in front of the Capitol building  will get people on the local news.  Standing along a highway isn't going to get the same amount of attention.

And Chuck Schumer has a book tour starting tomorrow.  Protests are planned.  Personally, I think Congressmen and Senators should not be allowed to have a book published while their in office.  They are in Washington to serve their constituents, not stroke their ego, or grow their bank accounts hawking some sort of political book they've written.  It takes time to write a book, I know, time they should be spending dealing with the Orange Anus, figuring out ways to control him.  There are about 16 cities on Schumer's book tour.  Protests are planned for each and every city.  Good.  He needs to do his damn job and leave the irrational behavior to the Cultists.

Price Drop

For those who missed the news, we had bad thunderstorms and torrential downpours yesterday afternoon.  In DC, the Federal Government said it was fine for people to leave work early.  That didn't happen for us.  Then again we weren't in DC.  We had a few minutes of gusty wind, a bit of thunder, and then steady rain for about an hour and a half.  Everything was done by the time I got home from work.

I did 14 sets of Kettlebell exercises yesterday and my L1 - L5 rather impolitely reminded me that they're slowly fusing together.  Naproxen does wonders.  So does a heating pad.  This means I will have to work the exercises in slowly, possibly into other workouts.  Maybe a set or two when I do arms, and a set or two when I do chest.

Twenty-four hours after the house next door was listed, there was a price drop from $185,000 to $179,900.  This was after one showing, so obviously it didn't go as well as the owner thought it was going to go.  I've talked to him several times, he thinks he's a shrewd businessman and that all potential buyers are stupid.  They aren't.  Not with the prices of homes today.  They do their research.

Remember my cutting back my peach tree?  Well, this is what it looks like today, not at all like the nectarine tree which is pretty much dead to the world.

Because today's Tuesday, and down in Atlanta the Grand Jury usually meets on Tuesdays, there's a good possibility more indictments are going to be handed out.  Trump's indictment dance card must just about be filled by now, so I guess he will need to flip it over and start listing them on the back.

For those not paying attention to the details, yesterday his attorneys whined that they had needed more time to come up with a delaying tactic that would sound good to Republicans as a response to his stupid comment, "you come for me, I'm coming for you."  They claimed first amendment rights, that he was allowed his freedom of speech.  Jack Smith shot that down, saying his comments had nothing to do with freedom of speech.  Ouch.  The DOJ is having none of his bullshit, which means he must be going through cases of ketchup.  People are not only saying "no" to him, they're spicing it up with a silent "screw you, loser."

My Pig Costune

We had storms yesterday.  Harrisburg got hit, but that's on the East Shore and I'm on the West Shore (shore designating one side of the Susquehanna from the other) and we got nada in the rain department.  There was some thunder and lightening, but none overhead.  Dry we were and dry we will remain, unless some rain happens to accidently fall on us in the next few days.

Even though I did manage to get a measure, work was slow.  During the four days I was off work, I reached my sales goal, in fact I had over $10,000 in sales.  That should keep management happy.  The only thing I'm falling behind on is signing people up for credit.  Well, we all know how I feel about that.

Jon, the PT I turn to for advice on my character Max's job as a physical therapy, told me yesterday "you're out on the Internet."  Of all things, he stumbled across me in my pig costume.  This picture here, and it's 25 years old.  Damn, I'm going to have to start updating myself.

Evidently Ronnie D has a bad problem of saying "woke."  It's so bad, every time he speaks in public people count the number of times he says it.  He uses that term quite frequently, most likely because he believes most Americans fear "woke."  Sadly for Ronnie D, he's wrong.  It seems as though on 38% of Americans find being "woke" to be a problem, or, in other words, the Republican part as well as small percentage of unregistered members of the MAGA cult.  Don't tell Ronnie D, but America is not falling for this.  But then, being the socially incompetent fool he is, he will never understand.

Notes

So, we were under a lot of weather warnings yesterday:  high wind, tornado, hail, heavy or torrential rains, flash flooding, and we got... a steady rain for about 45 minutes.  It was a bit breezy, but that's about it.  No garbage cans went rolling down the street.  One thing I will say is that we have had a lot of rain so far this summer.  Last year my river birch were losing leaves constantly, this year?  New growth on every branch.

I'm spending the afternoon down in York.  My friend Betsy's getting her copy of The Body in the Loch.

And it is Sunday, which is also the day the Internet slows down.  Not because of any religious reasons, mostly because people do need a day of rest.  This is the day when the blog always gets the least amount of hits.  Because of that, I've decided to share some notes with you.  This is roughly what the next 4 chapters of The Body in Repose is going to look like.

Have a good one.
