Travel Insurance

 Yesterday was beautiful.  We reached a high of 77 (F).  That was fine.  My lawn was mowed, leaves were raked, and pruning was completed on the rose bushes out front.  I've even weeded a bit.  Today, however, the overcast skies with their showers are back.  Tomorrow the forecast is simple:  rain.  That means next week I'll be mowing my lawn again.

The passport photo went well.  Maybe I'll scan one of the pictures and post it here.  Me without glasses.  I do look somber.  I suppose that's because most people don't smile, or at least not as much as we think we do.  That's something I was thinking about at work the other day, that I seem to be smiling less frequently.  But then I don't know.  I don't really spend a lot of time thinking about smiling.  So many things are running through my head, most of which are not happy, smiley thoughts, and I wonder if I've always been like this?  Probably.  Most people don't smile, unless they have a reason.

I need to get travel insurance for my trip to Greece, so I was shopping for options yesterday.  Simple coverage is not that expensive, it's when you add in the cost of getting a cancelation reimbursement that sends it through the roof.  It would be nice to be reimbursed should something happen and the trip would get canceled.  However, once I started looking at the exceptions that weren't covered, that I began to question if it truly was worth the cost.  My cousin and her husband were supposed to go to Israel and of course the war happened.  Now, the insurance company is making they jump through all sorts of hoops to get their refund, you see the insurance company still wants them to go.

Of course, Arizona's Supreme Court using an 1864 law to set a precedent on abortion in the state is roiling the Republican party big time.  I find it rather humorous.  For decades, the Republican party has catered to the the anti-abortion crowd because they saw this group as a constant, steady voting bloc.  Now that they're getting their way, the RNC has realized that all their catering is now cratering their candidates in local and state elections.  How smart is that?  But then, no one ever said the GOP was smart.  The truth is they never really thought about it.  Their only goal has been to get themselves into power.  To do that, they have turned, and twisted, and jerked themselves into all sort positions to satisfy fringe groups in order to get themselves elected.  Now... well, it seems as though they're starting to realize they've been shitting in their pants for years, and it's the American voters who are going to change their dirty diaper.  Republicans have always been more desperate than smart.

A good thing for America

 So, happy Saturday.  After my 7 hour stint at work this afternoon, I'm not scheduled until next Thursday.  I can live with that.  Four days off.  It's anybody's guess at how busy the store is going to be today.  This used to be a transitional period.  Since the holidays are approaching, people begin to think of installing new flooring, especially carpet.  However, we're competing with college football.  I was told that Penn State has won every game so far this season.  Living in Central PA, that is an important factor.  A lot of people want to hear those Nittany Lions roar.

For our Success Sharing weekend, today is ice cream and Blizzard day.  I don't know if that means a Dairy Queen truck is going to be parked in back of the building, or if we're going to be served some sort of knockoff.

My slides are all in my computer, or at least the ones that I'm keeping have been saved.  Most of the 100 + pictures I took of animals at the San Diego zoo are in the trash.  If you want to see a peacock just Google peacock.  What did I save?  Pictures like this.  In 1973, I spent a few weeks working in the radar department of our destroyer escort.  I was flown there by a helicopter (I really don't like helicopters).  here's one of the pictures I took when I flew back to the Constellation.  This is what it looks like from above as you're preparing to land.  And yes, those are jet planes parked on the flight deck.

Yesterday, Kevin McCarthy (he wants to be High Priest in the Trump cult) and several other prominent Republicans released the GOP plan for heading into the midterms.  They did not mention their intentions of a nationwide ban on abortion, or their plan to eliminate Social Security.  What they did was release vague statements in a video which some are saying included scenes from Mother Russia and statement from Lehman Brothers that they attributed to Lincoln.  Some smart individual took their Commiotment and added some of the details the Republicans forgot to include.

I understand that Sydney Powell is considered on the lam because she failed to show up for a court appearance.  This was to be expected.

An Arizona judge reinstated an anti-abortion law from before Arizona became a state.  This is how you unite the women of Arizona.

And finally, there is evidently growing concern among Republicans in regard to Trump's legal issues.  That, I believe is an understatement.  You see, many Republicans, including Kevin McCarthy, saw the MAGA base as a slice of heaven; a guaranteed voting bloc they could rely upon.  However, that bloc is a minority group that includes another minority voting bloc, the Evangelicals.  They are not 2 distinct groups.  The QAnon crazies?  They, too, are in the MAGA group.  They are in trouble, and they know it.  Trump is killing their party, which is a good thing for America.

Little Boners and Whimpering Lies

 The Weekend will end tonight!  At midnight!  That was for all of you who weren't sure because there is this storm moving up the east coast.  Well, not exactly, and only kind of bring snow and freezing rain up into Central PA.  States to the south are going to get hit and some of them don't do well with snow and ice.  Right now our forecasters are saying we might get between 1 and 3 inches of mixed precipitation.  I told you that's what we were going to end up getting.  Just when will we get this snowy, icy, freezing rain Slurpee?  Well, they're not even sure on that, so let's just say the slop should start falling between 1300 and 1800.

On the interesting side of things, while I was poring over maps of Mackinac Island, I discovered a small islet to the the northeast called Edison Island.  The small environmental research station run by the Navy was shut down several years ago leaving nature to slowly reclaim the buildings.  Personally, I think this makes for a really great setting for The Body Under Ice.

Oh, and in case you didn't hear, Novak Djokovic lost his bid to stay in Australia.  😁  Boy, I'll bet he's pouting like hell.  Back when I was in the Navy, we were always being told that when you're in a foreign country, you follow their rules.  Rather than do that, Djokovic lied, for a while he almost got away with it, but then he compounded his insult to Australia by telling people he tested positive for Covid and chose not to quarantine.  He went places because he's a famous tennis player. Now he's going home.

And will Putin invade the Ukraine?  Of course.  He has this little boner which is telling him to take Russia back to the time of the Czars.  Like a lot of little boners, his will screw him over.  There will end up being a bloody insurgency, and shortly after that starts, Kazakhstan's going to begin biting his ass again.  With insurgencies raging on both ends of the country, the Russian people are going to start stomping their feet shouting "Putey baby, put your little boner back in your pants," but by then it will be too late for him.

And, finally, the biggest loser in America, the greatest liar to make an appearance of the soon the soon to be defunct OANN (Cracker Jack Crazy Cable News Network), Donald Trump was in Arizona yesterday.  That's right, he held a rally for The Big Lie and a lot of crazies were in attendance.  Since this loser can't do anything else but lie, he... well, lied.  Surprisingly, he didn't get a lot of press coverage because, well, his lies are old.  He, and his party, are rapidly becoming a broken record.  This is how the the Republican Party dies, not with a bang, but with whimpering lie.

Counterfeit Election Results

 Well, it's Saturday.  Two days before the big storm, or maybe semi-big, snow possibly turning to freezing rain storm.  We'll just have to wait, won't we?  My question is whether I should buy a bottle of wine on my way home from work this evening just in case.  While a lot of people have Monday, the 17th off as a paid holiday, I don't.  Calling off is not going to cost me any holiday pay... and that would give me another 3 day weekend.

I got another 13.86 mile ride in yesterday - the Ilger Front, in Belgium.  Fun stuff.  I felt it in my legs a bit, but not much.  Today I'm going to get in a walk before I go to work.  In case anyone is wondering, I'm still using the heating pads from time to time.  They keep my lumbar spine loosie goosie and flexible.

I checked in with my cover artist yesterday, she and her husband both have Covid.  She's doing fine, however, her husband was acting like a 'contrary old man.'  Translation: she can't wait to get out of the freaking house, even if it means going back to work.  That's understandable.  

People keep complaining about how the January 6 committee doesn't seem to be doing anything, and what they are doing appears to be happening very slowly.  The face they show to the public tells us nothing about what's happening behind the scenes.  The sudden arrest of 11 Oath Keepers is significant and came out of nowhere.  Then, for those of you who missed it, they revealed that 5 states sent counterfeit election results to Congress, election results claiming the Orange Anus had won the state.  All were signed by Republican election officials.  They were rejected, of course, but the National Archives is releasing them to interested citizens.  This means every one is going to get the chance to see these lying signatures.  Here's the signature page sent in by Pennsylvania Republicans.

Speaking of the Orange Anus, he's speaking today in Arizona, a state where the Republican election committee has certified Biden as president.  This is also the state where Cyber Ninja was paid to find out the Orange Anus actually lost.  I'm sure the January 6 committee is going to be playing close attention to those who show up.

Finally, I see Conservatives are going after Brett Kavanaugh for his decision on vaccines and mask mandates for health care workers.  It's taking Brett a long time to realize these Conservatives believe they've bought and paid for his entire soul.

The MRI

 So, I had my MRI yesterday (no pics yet). though I received a call from my Dr. around 1:30 (PM) with the results.  They are pretty much what I was expecting.  L1 is bulging and L2 is in the process of spitting out its disc jelly.  Ouch.  My pain right now is nowhere near what it was 6 weeks ago.  To me, that signifies improvement.  Nerves from L1 and L2 run down the front of your leg, hence the fiery discomfort in my quads and knee caps.  This also explains why now and then my quads will get tingly, like the muscles are falling asleep.  I haven't actually seen the pictures yet, but the VA is going to upload them to my file so I'll be able to watch those snazzy videos from the comfort of my gaming chair.  In the meantime, here's a diagram.

Six years ago L4 and L5 were in the process of fusing naturally, L5 and S1 had already fused.  L3 was bulging badly.  Basically, the process is slowly moving up my spine.  I'm interested in seeing if L3 and L4 have fused.  Since the pain has decreased, I suspecting the fusion process is underway.  For the time being, I'm going to opt for an injection of steroids.  As my doctor said, that will pretty much eliminate the pain, however it does nothing to correct the issue.  However, if the fusion process is happening naturally, I don't see why I should submit to surgery for a quick fix, so to speak.  So, right now I'm waiting for a call to tell me where and when to go for my injection.

Politically, wasn't it interesting to see Mitch McConnell blink regarding the debt ceiling?  While the Republicans are trying to spin this in their direction, old Mitch has suddenly decided is comment about "no compromise" only had traction in the MAGA base.  Ever other voters was looking at him and wondering why he was being such a dick.  By the way, the answer to that is:  he's a Republican.

Oh, and saw where the Arizona Democrats have already found a replacement for Sinema.  First they follow her into the restroom so she can't pinch a loaf in private, and now they've settled on someone they consider better qualified to fulfill the Democrat agenda.  Don't worry.  She's not upset.  She doesn't care.  That's how phonies are.

Free Thinkers

 I slept in again today.  That's becoming a bit of a habit, not necessarily a bad one either.  That's a sign my back is improving, no painful muscle spasms waking me up every 2 hours, and no need to apply a heating pad for 45 minutes.  With a return of the sleep come the odd dreams again.  Last night I dreamt I was investigating deaths in high rise nursing homes and instead of finding bad stuff, everyone was nice, plying me with food... on every floor.  They were so nice, I found myself doing laundry in the basement using jet powered washers, until I finally ended up at the dessert tables (plural) at my college reunion.  Food played a major role.

As for my back, an MRI has been scheduled for tomorrow morning.  Getting the call was a bitch.  My phone kept thinking the Radiology Department at the VA was a spam caller and kept disconnecting.

I understand Kristen Sinema is not happy.  Now, isn't that a shame.  Some say she's trying to be an iconoclast, I say she's stuck in 'free thinker' mode.  Look at her history.  She was with the Green Party for a while, then a Bernie Babe, and now... well, she got enough Democrats in Arizona to voter for her to get her into the Senate.  She has always been a free thinker.  She likes that, to be able to change her mind when she wants, to choose a different viewpoint because it tickles her neurotransmitters differently.  She doesn't want to explain herself, and so rarely gives interviews, and her statements are mostly framed by negatives.  She's being badgered to explain herself, and she can't.  To do so would mean she stood for something.  Free thinkers rarely stand for anything which will lock them down.  Getting behind something, giving reasons why you object to something, or are voting against something takes away your freedom.  Believe me, she will never stand for anything.

The New Commandment

 And the mood of the day is???? 

Holy Moly!  I got almost 7 hours sleep last night with only a short (28 minute) heating pad session around 0330.  I have not gotten that much sleep in a long time.  And  it's wonderful!  My body battery is recharged, at least that's what my Fenix 6 Pro tells me.  I could easily slip in another few winks, but I do have to work today.

I bought a new shower head before I left work yesterday, this one includes a 'hand held' that I may use sometimes.  This is replacing a Delta that sprayed out the shower door onto the floor.  This was more of a nuisance rather than a hazard, having to mop up the floor every time I showered.

And some of my dahlias in the backyard have finally begun blooming.

Not surprisingly, the Republicans are still moving ahead with their phony audits in a number of states.  At this point, they are on only hoping to sow discord among their base, pushing the concept there's fraud in every election they lose.  This is merely a reflection of their Savior, the Orange Anus' own ego.  Oh, and speaking of Loser #45, I understand he had one of his minions remove praise  of Cyber Ninja because not only did they failed to feed his Big Lie, they reported he had lost by an even larger margin.

And not a small number of Texans woke up yesterday to discover that overnight their groveling governor had cowed his head to the Orange Anus; there is going to be an audit in several counties even though the Anus won the state.  Evidently, the OA has set forth a new commandment:  Let there be an audit to grow disatisfaction.

 I know it seems to happen every day, but today is my Friday.  Aren't you glad I'm not responsible for calendar updates?  If that were the case, every day would be Dave's day.  Of course, that would be confusing as hell since half of the time I, myself, don't know what day it is.

While there are many who still wear masks when they come into the store, there are many who don't.  Those of us who are fully vaccinated, believe most of those maskless shoppers haven't been within a mile of vaccination station.  Everyone I've talked to so far, hopes they get sick and spend 2 weeks on ventilator.  As more people get vaccinated, the chances of that happening go down since there will be fewer infected people wandering the face of the earth.

An Italian group named Manneskin won Eurovision.  I listened to the song.  Meh.  I suspect this year's competition was rather weak thanks to Covid.

My cucumbers and cantaloupes have sprouted!  Hopefully this year I will get some fruit.

And sine of my rose bushes are in full bloom.  I did send another picture of my roses, but either Gmail is having a problem, which wouldn't surprise me, or my phone didn't send them, which also wouldn't surprise me.

So, does anyone know how you turn a Red state Purple?  Or a Red state Blue?  The answer's rather simple.  First, you let the Republicans of that state vote to have the ballots audited. Secondly, you watch as they hire Cyber Ninja.  After that everything is easy peasy.  All you need to do is look at Maricopa county in Arizona.  Or, Fulton county in Pennsylvania, for that matter.  You see, Republicans can not believe they're losers, no matter how badly they lose an election.  They are so caught up in the wonderment of their own bias, anything other then victory has to be fraud.  And so they lie to themselves, and look for bamboo slivers.  They don't understand that is not the scent of truth they smell, rather, their corpse is beginning to stink.  I never thought I'd end up taking my mask off to smell this.  Of course, those states will all need to buy new voting machines.  We are all going to pay the price for their stupidity.

Recognizing Faces

 Good Saturday Morning.  In any oddly surprising way, this is my Hump Day.  Tomorrow is my Hump Day.  Yep, I had a 3 day work week followed by another weekend.  I could live with this kind of work schedule, unfortunately now I'm going to have to pay the price by 6 days in a row.

I'm looking for a piece of furniture to store my albums in.  Right now they're leaning against chairs and walls in my living room.  Last evening, while I was putting down some notes on The Body in Repose, I listened to Respighi: Pines of Rome.  Very nice.  Here's the score if some of you wish to read it while listening.

On 5/19 masks became optional for the fully vaccinated at the large, orange retailer I work for; yesterday was my first day back.  I had one on as I entered the building.  But then, as I passed the Service Desk, I saw fully vaccinated associates fully maskless.  I had to pause for a second.  For some, it was over a year since I had last seen their faces.  The surprise was how much the masks they had worn for a year had supplanted so much of my memory.  I will have to learn to recognize them again, just as they will have to recognize me.  My mask came off, though I'm going to carry one in my apron for those who feel uncomfortable.  There are also a number of people going maskless who haven't been vaccinated.  None of us have will have any sympathy for them.  Covid has not gone away.  If they get it, well, tough shit.

And, speaking of shit, what about that shit show in Arizona?  Those losers out there are doing a damn good job of helping to turn that state bluer then they could even imagine.  And now, evidently, the same thing's going to start in Georgia.  The group auditing the votes in the Peach State are going to look just as incompetent.  This is what desperation looks like.  This is what happens when you believe a lying sack of shit.  Trump wasn't sent to give them what they want, he's here to destroy them, which is something they will never recognize.

Run This Way

 I'm hoping today turns out to be a slow day at work.  Maybe we can have a Sunday like we used to have in previous winters.  I don't mind if the weather is overcast, I'm inside.  Whether it's sunny or not, the dogs are going to be home sleeping, one on the sofa and one on the futon.  

Since I bought my running shoes from Amazon, I knew I should be expecting one of their little 'review' emails.  What I wasn't expecting was the product.  The running shoes I bought are evidently 'women's' running shoes.  My selection was made on size  (9 1/2 wide US) and color alone, not gender.  So tell me, do these look like women's running shoes?  If so, what makes them specifically for women?

I did file my 2020 taxes yesterday.  Evidently the Fed doesn't accept them until February 12, so I'm no in the queue awaiting my refund.  I use a service called OLT which takes care of my Fed and State returns but not my local taxes so they will have to wait since I find them such a bother.

And I went for a 15 mile ride around Amsterdam yesterday on a route I created with their maps.  Really nice, though my legs were a bit wobbly afterwards.  Oh, and I no longer use the earbuds.  I simply shut the door and turn up the speakers, that too is very nice.

Arizona Republicans censured Cindy McCain yesterday.  She was not alone; two other high level Republicans were also censured because they opposed the Idiot Jerk.  And the Fool in Florida is now talking about starting a 3rd political party.  I am too kind by calling him a Fool, but then neither he nor his base understand January 6.  On that day, a large majority of Americans flushed them down the toilet.  They are now truly the minority party.  This idea is beyond their comprehension.  Over 5000 Republicans in Arizona changed their party identity on January 7, and while numbers disavowing the GOP have slowed down, they are continuing. This is happening in every state.  Son of a Bitch!  Instead of assessing the damage done to their party by the Washington Riot, they are clenching their teeth and buckling down as they screech 'screw you.'  That's right, they're going to bury themselves in their own shit.

Community Spread

It's Wednesday and that means I get to go back to work.

Yesterday was warm again, though not as hot as the day before.  However, the humidity here in Central Pennsylvania was through the roof.  I mowed my lawn, which is not that large.  Twenty minutes of pushing my little electric lawn mower and I'm finished.  And did I sweat much in that twenty minutes?  Yeah.  I was drenched.  

The Body in the Loch is proceeding nicely.  So far I've written over 14,000 words.  I'm pleased.

I saw where Covid 19 is surging badly in Texas.  Governor Abbott has said the rate of community spread is unacceptable.   He doesn't want to lock down the state, so he's telling people to stay home.  "Don't go anywhere you don't need to go," he's saying.  "Wear masks."  I though it rather amusing when he said "people here don't think it's as bad as it is."  Well... why would they?   That dumb shit has been telling Texans it's not that bad, and that it will go away for how many months now?  There's a shiny blue lining hiding beneath his Conservative ineptitude.

And Arizona?  They've just about reached the limit of their available ICU beds.  He's another incompetent Conservative.  The Idiot Jerk was in his state to sign a plaque on the boarder wall.  The he spoke in a Cracker Jack Mega Church where they said they ionize the air to kill Covid 19.  That don't work.  But then they'll believe any lie regarding this virus.  And they're saying all the cases we're seeing now are from Memorial Day...  Keep in mind, those being hospitalized today were doing anything but social distancing and wearing masks in the 3 weeks since then.  How bad is it going to get in Arizona, and Texas, and Florida?  Really, really bad.

Finally, when the Pronto Plumber came, the dogs were very excited. I took a picture of Biggie waiting in anticipation for him to walk through the front door.

Sadly, for Biggie, the plumber stayed on the front porch.

Coordinating your Tops and Bottoms

Today's Wednesday and... my weekend is over... for a day.  I'm off again tomorrow.  This is okay.  Today is going to be crappy, shitty, rainy.  Tomorrow?  Not so bad.  If the weather is fine enough, I'll take the Synapse out on the road.  If I do, I want all of you fashion mavens out there to rest assured my Tops and Bottoms are covered.  Stylish coordination between the two is almost my middle name.  You see, both my cycling shoes and my helmet are made by the same company, Giro.  And, for those of you who don't know, my most favorite color in the whole world is red, which is why I bought the helmet.  I had 3 color choices for shoes:  Black, White, and Black and Red, so I went with the Black and Red.  Now while the Red in the helmet is incestuously close to the Red in the shoe, they're not a precise match.  But you can believe me when I tell you that when I'm wearing my tight, spandex shorts no one is going to notice the discrepancy.

Anyway, there was a special election in Arizona yesterday.  In a heavily Republican District, a district which the Idiot Jerk won by 21%, the race was tight.  As expected, the GOP candidate did win, but only by a 5%.  So, what happened to the other 16%?  The Trumplodyte supporters who threw away their votes to the Idiot Jerk?  Stayed home?  Suffering from 'buyer's remorse?'  You have to remember that Arizona is the state that gave us the very white, very conservative, crazy Jan Brewer.  The candidate who won is a former state senator, her Democratic opponent was a first time candidate.  That should give the GOP reason to worry, having a new kid on the block get so very, very close.  This almost a really big Ooops for them, especially since they flooded the state with Republican $$$.
This is a case when the political Tops and Bottoms are really, really close.

Jan Brewer - wreckage

If I were Jan Brewer, I would not be happy.  According many media sources she is poised to veto the hate bill in Arizona.  What kind of message is that sending to her loyal, socially conservative base?  She vetoed a similar measure last year which, I'm sure, did not please them.  These are people who spent their time and money to make sure she was re-elected.  They are expecting results from her, compensation of some sort, for their hard work.  Is she going to give it to them with this bill?  Well, you could say she is going to give it to them, but not they way they want.  The would love her to sign it just so the bill would end up in the court system.  Do you think they care how much such a thing would cost the state of Arizona?  Hell no.  They want to raise their tiny fists in the air and shriek " active courts are ruining this country!  They overturning the laws we love!"  You see, that gives them some justification for their bigotry.  And of course, Jan Brewer is in the middle of this shit storm.

Jan Brewer is a 69 year-old, white conservative.  While she may claim to be pro-business, there is no denying she is your stereotypical aging Republican.  And she is being forced into taking a moderate position.  This must almost be ripping out her heart.  The pressure to veto is coming from the business community (they don't like to see dollars and cents fly out their doors).  They've already lost a Superbowl because the state voted against Martin Luther King Day, and the prospect of losing another because of bigotry is burning their butts.  I suspect there is also a lot of pressure coming down from the GOP hierarchy.  Every time some branch of the far right manages to pull a stunt like this the entire party looks bad, and the party wants to win a presidential election.  "Yo, Jan, do you want to be one of reasons the 2016 presidency goes to the Democrats... again?"

What a wreck

It is a sad statement about her governorship when she allows such a piece of legislation to make it to her desk.  She was not oblivious to what her fellow Republicans were doing in the Arizona state House and Senate.  This was not done in secret, or behind her back.  The backers were putting this together in broad daylight.  They didn't tack it on to some overblown piece of legislation and try to sneak it through,  Nope, they new they were going to make headlines and she evidently approved, or she would have stopped them.  What a piece of wreckage she is, either that or she's a stupid, peroxide blonde.

  

State of Hate - Arizona

I am always amazed by the things which happen in Arizona.  Back in 2010 the state passed legislation which permitted law enforcement to stop any individual on the street (read Latino) and see if they were a legal citizen of the the United States.  Two years later the Supreme Court said about 3/4's of that legislation was unconstitutional.  Now the legislation has put a bill on Governor Jan Brewer's desk which is supposed to be about protecting an individual, business, corporation, etc and their religious beliefs.  What it actually says is that these individuals and groups can refuse to do business with gay people because it's against their religion.  What's next?  Arabs?  I mean there are a lot of people out there who really don't want to come within five miles of an Arab, so at some future date is the state legislation going to at Arabs to the list?  What about the Chinese?  There's a growing anti-Chinese sentiment in this country and, if you listen to what the Chinese government says, they are all atheist.  How can those deeply religious Arizona citizens even consider doing business with atheists!  Or what about the Hindi's?  I'm sure, if you ask a devout Hindu, he will tell you Shiva, the destroyer of worlds, has posted a target on Jan Brewer's ass.

The truth is this bill is not about religious freedom, it's about discriminating against gays, a minority group which is making great strides in getting equal civil rights.  They have always been a problem for the GOP and Arizona is a Republican state.  Marriage Equality bills as passing, slowly but surely, in state after state, and law suits are being filed as though paper were going to disappear off the face of the earth.  The Republicans in Arizona are merely trying to give some sort of protection to their base.  In doing so, however, they are legitimizing hate.

Right now this piece of legislation is sitting on Jan Brewer's desk, waiting for her perusal.  If the GOP is smart they'll send a little birdy to whisper in her ear "don't sign it, don't sign it."  You see, the Republicans want to win a presidential election and in order to do that they need to come across as more moderate, more friendly to all races, creeds and orientations. Did the 2010 law in Arizona hurt them?  I'd say most assuredly with the Latino vote.  Why would you vote for a party that hates you?  Thanks to the science of genetics it's estimated that 10% of all humans are either gay or lesbian.  That's a big voting block.  If they had the other 90% the Republicans wouldn't have to worry about it, but they don't.  They barely have 40%.  Woah!  And every time a state sends a message of hate that percentage drops.  Someone should tell this to the Republicans of Arizona who are sitting so smugly in their state of hate.

Roswell denied

Since 1947 people have been talking about Roswell.  At first there were just mutterings, but during the early 60's, something happened, Betty and Barney Hill.  That's when the alien talk took off, so to say.  There was a movie in 75 about them and then those dear little aliens showed up in Close Encounters.  Suddenly you weren't anybody unless you happened to have seen a UFO.  Jimmy Carter saw one.  Then, of course, there were the abductions.  It was almost like "be the first on your block to be hypnotized and discover you've been abducted."  Most of this was horse shit; people needing to be recognized as having had to deal with an anal probe.

As you can tell, I'm not truly impressed by most of the so called authorities and their invented data.  This doesn't mean I don't believe there might be UFO's, in fact, I suspect there probably are, however the logic takes over.  If they are real and they are being observed, then they want to be observed.  Which brings me back to Roswell.

This is a picture of some of the debris which since been declassified by the government as some sort of weather balloon (read possibly spy balloon).  That's what it looks like.  My main problem with the whole Roswell alien crash is that what superior species would design a craft to travel light years through space only to have it crash in Arizona?  Remember, this is a superior species so the idea of their  craft crashing is a bit ludicrous.  We can't even send men to Mars, yet they can send them light years.  Maybe they used a wormhole and didn't have to worry about going faster then the speed of light.  How many wormholes do we know of?  No matter how much you want to believe, the logic thing keeps it from working.  These ideas were formulated in a much more simpler time and place.  Some people want to believe.  That's fine, what ever makes them happy.
