Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Tank, Tanking, Tanked

As expected, yesterday was soooo sloooow at work.  Not a lot of people are out looking for flooring.  But, just in case some of you are thinking, "ah, that's the economy," I have to remind you that July and August are always slow months for us.  Vacation time.  Customers ask themselves, "why spend $4000 on carpet or vinyl planking, when you can take the family to Disneyworld for a week and have much more fun?"  Believe me, fun always wins out.

I'm only being scheduled for 3 days a week for the next couple of weeks.  That's fine with me.  This partial retirement thing is rather nice.

Since it's Friday, I'm off.  I have certain chores that get done on Friday. They are part of my routine.  No laundry, though.  Wednesday is my laundry day.  Most of today's chores involve cleaning.  Oh, and going to the supermarket.

The flowers in one of the little, front gardens are coming along nicely. Interestingly enough, the marigolds I planted from scratch are burgeoning, the ones which were already 5 inches tall when I bought them are struggling.

Dahlias are in the background

So, here we are, halfway through July, one hundred and some odd days before the midterms, and a certain political party is starting to scratch their head, seeming caught off guard by what's happening in America.  The common belief was that the party that loses the presidency wins heavily in the mid-terms.  The truth is that was never a sure thing.  As a result, the Republicans thought they were going to drive their conservative tank back and forth across the country, crushing every centrist in sight.  They were going to win which meant they could do whatever they wanted.  And so, the Supreme Court that they packed overturned Roe.  With one fell swoop they told the largest voting bloc in the country that not only were they 2nd class citizens, in truth, they were really nothing more than breeders.

Suddenly it seems as though they've driven that tank straight into a river that is very wide, and very deep.  Not only that, but they have also tied their destiny to a moral degenerate.  A man who attempted to overthrow American Democracy in an attempt to stay in power.  A big thank you to the January 6 committee for constant reminding America of his evil.

There is a horrific school shooting and America clamors for gun control, and they say, "shut up, we have enough votes to override everything you want."

At first there were just rumors that their tank might be tanking.  Those rumors are not only getting louder, but they are also beginning to sound like a constant drumbeat.  They nominated individuals who they felt would further their agenda without asking the American people what they wanted.  They're tank is filling up with water faster than they can bail it out. The lie that started with Reagan is ending with Trump.

Not the time for lobbing hand grenades

About those French Fries I cooked in the air fryer?  They were... okay.  The recipe called for 2 russet potatoes, well potatoes come in all sizes, so I there may have been too many fries in the fryer, and you're supposed to give them a shake halfway through cooking, and, well, I was feeding the dogs when the fryer beeped, so they may not have gotten the shaking they deserved.  I have a deep fryer, so maybe I'll just stick with that for the fries.

Winter weather's moving eastward again, not for us here in Central PA.  We're going to get sleety ice instead of snow.  After that, if the two week forecast is even remotely correct, temperatures are going to be rising.  That'll be nice.  Right now, we have rain, which is doing a very good job of melting the ice still covering much of the yard.  Ice is bad for dogs, they don't know how to walk on it.

Even though yesterday was really a busy day, a load or two of laundry, Biggie was still tired last evening.  This is because all around me people were getting deliveries from UPS, and Fed Ex, and both Biggie and Lily love delivery drivers.  Every time a truck pulls up out front, they need to go outside and say hello.  Anyway, he was exhausted and decided to hit the futon early.

I saw this interesting article in CNN regard the January 6 Committee regarding the really big mistake the Republicans made.  Initially, the Cracker Jack Crazies thought they could create a big enough disruption by adding Jordan and Johnson to delegitimize the process.  Nope.  The committee wanted nothing to do with those liars.  The 2 Republicans on the committee chose not to bow down to Trump and lick is ass and so a majority of the party told them to screw off.  Now they have no one on the committee and Cheney and Kitzinger aren't telling them shit.  Ouch!  And a day doesn't go by when someone who knows what happened on January 6 isn't sitting there talking to them.   And by talking, I mean providing information; they realize the Republican party is the worst type of fair weather friend.

Releasing the dirt now would be damaging, but Americans have a short term memory problem.  Mid-terms aren't until November, and who knows what will happen between now and then.  Be patient.  Bannon's trial is set for late July, perfect timing for the mid-term elections.  People want Trump indicted now... too early to effect the mid-terms.  Indictments for his spawn might start dropping in July or August, or September.  Those are the months in which the hand grenades will have their most damaging effect. Now is not the time for lobbing hand grenades.

The Mid-Terms are coming! the Mid-Terms are coming!

Today begins a 3 day weekend for me.  I like 3 day weekends... a lot... even if they happen to fall during the week.
By now, Flo has pretty much passed us.  We got rain.  Not nearly the 4 inches they said we might.  This is a good thing.  There is a good possibility 2018 will be one of the wettest years on record for us here in Central PA, if not the wettest.  This is what happens with Global Warming.  Climates change.  The next couple days are supposed to be humid, but dry.  I want to mow my lawn on Thursday, so let's hope the weather people are right.
I ordered myself a new computer / gaming chair for upstairs.  I had purchased an X-Rocker during Prime Days - and it just doesn't work.  Maybe if I were 18 inches shorter, or didn't mind sitting low to the floor, but I'm not, and I don't.
I got on the scale this morning and... Shit!  We've had 4 days of food at work and it shows.  Looks like I will be using My Fitness Pal for a couple of weeks.  I have the app in both my phone and my tablet, but they want you to upgrade to "premium."  I'm not about to, so I'll mostly be using the website.
I guess on Monday both Kavanaugh and his accuser are going to be testifying.  Of course, even though they will not admit so publicly, this is turning into a "worst case" scenario for both the Republican Party and the Idiot Jerk in the White House.  Millions and millions of women are going to be paying close attention.  Republicans, fools that they are, will need to discredit her testimony in order to justify a vote for Kavanaugh.  And the Mid -Terms are coming!  If she provides credible testimony and they still vote for him.... well the Mid-Terms are coming!  Making her look bad will light a beacon.  The "worst case" scenario for them is to to turn her into a martyr.  The Mid-Terms are coming!  The party is already destined to lose their majority in the House, and the Senate... it's now up for grabs.  Voting for Kavanaugh now will insure a 'plague on both their houses,' (thought I'd throw in a little Shakespeare there).  And the Mid-Terms are coming.

Can you hear my evil laugh?

Grab that can of Raid

Thursday - not quite my hump day but heading in that direction.
Yesterday morning I'd set the alarm for 0430... well, it went off and I went back to bed.  I had planned to continue getting up early, being a morning person, however, that might change.  I would need to get up real early to get a ride in on a work day, which doesn't really appeal to me.  So I will probably end up sleeping in an hour later and then not go to bed at 9 PM.  We'll have to see how this goes.  I just need to reallocate the time.
Evidently the Idiot Jerk's variation of a cluster fuck is still flopping around like a couple of ugly Russkies flopping around nekked in a Golden Shower.  His problem is that he lies so much he, himself can no longer remember what he said.  Sarah (I sold my soul to the Idiot Jerk to get this job) Sanders, was doing so much twisting and turning to avoid the truth she almost got whiplash.  It seems a reporter asked the Idiot Jerk if he believed the Russians were still meddling in our elections.  He responded by saying "no."  She asked a second time and his response was the same.  Now, however, Sarah ( I sold my soul to the Idiot Jerk to get this job) that his "no" actually meant "I'm not going to answer that question."  If that was the case, why didn't he just point his finger at a different reporter and say "next?"
If there is Russian interference in our Mid-terms... guess who's going to get blamed?  It sure as hell isn't going to be Hillary...  oh, wait, what I'm saying....  The Republicans always blame the Clintons.    Remember when the real estate bubble exploded and we had that big recession during W's days in the White House?  After running the country for almost 7 years... they blamed Clinton.  Their base believes this bullshit.  In fact, the Idiot Jerk's supporters are sticking with him.  Sort of like flies to shit, if you know what I mean.  Who stuck with the aforementioned 'W' during the worst recession in history?  His supporters.  The Republican base.  There were more of the back then.
Anyway, bott the House and Senate are getting worried.  Their approval ratings are lower than those of the Idiot Jerk.  That, however, is not their main problem.  There are a lot of angry blue's out there who they will have to contend with, that's important.  More important, and more damning, is that they're doing a terrible job at controlling the Idiot Jerk.  The country doesn't really like it when one party is in this much control.  They like it better when the power is spread around.  The Idiot Jerk is too erratic, too ego driven, too narcissistic, in fact he is too 'everything that is bad for most people.'  That's what their problem is, and it's only going to get worse.  Those tariffs are starting to kick in.  Washers and dryers are getting more expensive.  Brazil is going to take over the soybean market...  This is just the beginning.  Kind of reminds me of that old scif fi movie "The beginning of the End."

The Idiot Jerk is buggy as hell.  Like a swarm of giant grasshoppers, his supporters devoured the popular vote, leaving only the bones of the Electoral College to come to power.  Like a swarm of locusts they are chowing down on everything we hold normal, sane, and democratic.  The time has come to grab that can of Raid.
