Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Portland Will Outlive Him

We have a dense fog advisory in effect for the next hour or two.  Looking out my window, I have to say the wisps I'm seeing have less to do with density and more to do with mistiness.  This is because we had on and off showers throughout yesterday afternoon, and overnight the temps dropped down into the mid 50s (F).  Supposedly they're going to climb up into the mid 80s (F) this afternoon.  We'll have to wait and see on that.

Yesterday was pretty much a meh day.  No workouts are scheduled for the weekend.  I did get some nice wordage done on the new book.  Oh, and I also had to spend time at the flooring desk.  Things were slow.  I did talk to a few customers, but none of them were in the buying mood.  One of my associates spent about an hour and a half with a wife and husband who are in the planning stages for a new kitchen and bathroom floor.  Believe me, they can be the worst because "planning stages" usually means they're going to waste your time.  This is play acting for adults, comparing different styles of backsplash tiles to different colors of flooring.  Pictures will be taken for future reference.  I mean, what better way to spend a drizzly, rainy afternoon than dreaming of what you might what your kitchen and bath to look like.  Just don't mention the probable $30,000 price tag for all the improvements they're thinking of doing.  That's a real spoiler.

So, while my fellow associate did that, I got in my steps.

And everybody was talking about the warzone Portland had become.

Well, maybe not.  Mostly people are talking about the Orange Anus reaching a decision to send troops to a peaceful, northwest city because he saw a hit piece on Fox Entertainment.  There's also his loss to Jimmy Kimmel, I'm sure that has his blood seething like boiled over ketchup through his veins.  Let's be honest here, Orangie lost in a very public way.  He doesn't take humiliation well, and that is what happened.  He was all "braggadocios" about shutting Kimmel down only to have his loss smeared all over the front page of every Main Stream Media website.

Some have pointed out his sending troops to Portland might be another attempt to change the topic of conversation away from the Epstein Files, especially since more names were released on Friday.  While that might be a part of his decision making process, I'm thinking Sinclair, and Nextstar, and Tegen going against his will really torched his ire.  Either, Or, this is just him once again farting into the wind as a way of distracting from his multiple failures.  You know it's bad when Karl Rove is on Fox Entertainment telling America that 70% of both Republicans and Democrats think Orangie is taking the country in the wrong direction.

The Menu, wickedly saucy

Okay, so did the weekend begin on Wednesday evening, or does it start this evening?

For those who don't know, it is Black Friday.  Because Friday is one of those days I never work, I'm not working.  Today I'm going to pretty much finish painting the new laundry room.  Rather than go with a bold, bright color, I'm going with a pastel, a minty green.  Accents are going to be taupe and light browns.  The trim is a color called Tiramisu, though it's much darker than the desert.

On Wednesday evening, I did go see The Menu with Ralph Fiennes and Nicholas Hoult.  What a hoot!  So, there's this couple who go to a very expensive exclusive restaurant on an private island for the meal of their lives.  The humor is witty and dry.  I chuckled most of the way through this satire on the wealthy; each course dissects a lie.  It is a little bloody at times.  Oh, and if you're one of those people who doesn't like to pay attention, you might want to avoid this film.  Personally, I found it quite tasty.

And yesterday was Thanksgiving.  I hope everyone of you had a good day, whether with friends, or family, or just quietly trying to keep a hold onto your sanity amid the angst and strum.  It was quiet here.  The dogs slept.  I roasted a turkey breast and made stuffing.  Tasty.  I finished cutting out the trim in the laundry room.  My sister called to fill me in on what I so happily missed at one of the invitations I declined.

Billy B arr wrote in an op-ed published by Business Insider, that if Trump doesn't get the nomination, he will burn down the GOP.  Honestly, am I the only one not surprised by this?  Of course, this is what the GOP deserves for attempting to turn a narcissist into a demi-god.  I personally think he will pretty much tear it to pieces before the party even begins the nomination process.  The second his ass gets indicted, Trump is going to start swinging his sledge hammer.  Remember Portland, Oregon during the BLM protests?  Picture something similar happening in other cities across the the country (mostly down south).  And all those Americans horrified by January 6 are going to say 'what the fuck?'  And the GOP will rapidly spin into a death spiral.  This is how it happens.

Mine are bigger than yours

So, the drawing of my blood went fine.  Four vials.  I don't know why they take so much of my DNA.  About 4 hours later, I got a voice mail from them (I don't carry my phone around with me) advising that appointment next Tuesday and been switched from and 'in person' visit to a phone call.  So I sent them an email and said "nope."  I have never met this doctor.  I told them that as an Essential associate, I have come face to face with 100's of people since this thing began.  If I can do that, then this doctor should be able to sit down and have a 'face to face' with me for 5 minutes.  I'm hoping they say no.  Results of my blood work will be posted next week in my file.  I do understand the need for caution, but there's a difference between caution and paranoia.
I added dumbbell training to my workouts.  No soreness so far.
We're also under a heat advisory today, from noon until 8 PM with humidity.  Hopefully it will lead to rain.  We did get showers last evening.  Those around us had a thunderstorm, not where I live.
And the Idiot Jerk gave a briefing for his base.  Now he's saying it's good to wear a mask.  He also said things are going to get worse before they get better... but Covid is suddenly going to disappear.  His administration is having problems putting out a unified message.  They're worried about making him look like a lying sack of shit.  They will twist their message into an impossible shape in order to keep him from being wrong.  His base is going to believe he caved to pressure, which is what he did... kind of.  People want to hear science and what the get is dumb shit spluttering out some sort of half-assed campaign speech.
And, of course, people are looking at what he's doing in Portland.  His campaign ads are growing darker and darker.  Barry Goldwater used this approach trying to be a harbinger of nuclear war.  He failed miserably.  Remember, he wants to be a dictator in the worst kind of way.  And he's beginning to understand not only that he's unpopular, but that Americans hate him.
Finally, I made croutons yesterday, for salad as well as for snacking.  They're tasty.  And they're large.  Believe me, I have no problem admitting that mine are bigger than yours.
