Well hello World! Morning temps here in Central PA are a comfy, cool 57 (F). The forecast is, again, for them to warm up into the 80s (F), though just passing the borderline, keeping them on the low side. Tomorrow we're heading back into seasonal temps. The long range forecast has us again popping up into the pesky upper 80s (F) for a day.
I'm wondering how long summer will be stretching its presence out until we do finally hit our first frost. I don't know why, but for some reason I feel we should be later in the year than we already are, like maybe something happened to the calendar and we're actually a month behind the times. Perhaps this is because barely a day goes by without breaking news disrupting the smoothness we want for our daily lives. We prefer stability, and I do think all of us would enjoy going through at least twenty-four hours without some idiot rocking the boat.
I do get to go to work this afternoon. Will today be another five hour episode of chitchat with fellow associates, casual conversation passing the time between those rare customers who stumble into the flooring aisles? Probably. I do know my supervisor will be there and anticipate her giving me my "One on One." These are mini-monthly reviews that are supposed to assess my continued progress as a sales specialist. We will go over the goals I failed to reach for the month: measures sold, leads generated, and credit cards applied for. Corporate seems to think this pressure applied monthly will increase revenue. Blame needs to be placed somewhere if the store is not making plan. These One on Ones are just a waste of my time.
If you go to the movies as often as I do, you probably realize that the movie never starts at the showtime listed because the theater has sold 20 - 30 minutes of ad time you need to sit through before the trailers start. Obviously people have been complaining because this warning now appears on the AMC website.
A 24 hour break would indeed be welcome. So would the dissolution of Turning Point.
ReplyDeleteOh, the days of the 1 on 1s. What a waste of time; you are so right. You have the best outlook about your job!
They will try to hold it together, but Vance did the podcast today and all he did was threaten, he has no riz.
DeleteThe Couchfucker is going to host Kirk's podcast so I bet he'll try to grab those aimless MAGAts.
ReplyDeleteHe used it as a platform to threaten Democrats.
DeleteI get what you mean about feeling like the year should be further along too; maybe it’s all the nonstop headlines throwing off our sense of time.
ReplyDeleteYes, the nonstop headlines could take a long break.
DeleteI suspect we won't have our first Frost till Sometime Late October beginning of November.
ReplyDeleteOne of the trumpers at work said he was sad about Charlie Kirk, but then got over it cuz he said there's going to always be 10 people waiting in line to fill the spot. It does seem like each one gets more and more evil.
Several people will try and fill the spot, but in like so many other things, there is only one Charlie Kirk.
DeleteWhat will maga do when Trump dies ?
ReplyDeleteDictators never make plans for their own demise as they like to think they are immortal and invincible. In the aftermath their followers go at each others throats. Like Franco and his Falangists in Spain or Stalin and his Communists in Russia.
Rex in DC
The will disintegrate, and it couldn't happen to a worse cult than them.
DeleteHahaha
ReplyDeleteSo Cheeto was a no-show? On brand. He kind of said he was going to go to a 'smaller affair'. LMAOOOO
And the problem with these hierarchical ventures is that once the head is gone, there's nothing... It's what's gonna happen to MAGA eventually.
XOXO
Orangie left to play golf. So much was the depth of his grief.
DeleteI couldn't imagine having to have a performance review every month!!! Once a year was bad enough and I hated it! It seems like such a waste of time unless there really is a performance issue!
ReplyDeleteThey're useless. Each month you need to set your goals for the next month, and I always say everything depends upon the customers.
