Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Unblessing

Here it is Sunday morning and outside the temperature is a brisk 32 (F).  Today's supposed to be cool (for Spring), with a high around 50 (F).  I work, so it really doesn't bother me.

And, since I have to be at work early, this entry will be brief.  I did change my schedule.  While I still will be working Sundays, I've put my start time later in the morning.

Yesterday was quiet next door.  That was nice.  When I did go to work, the first think I did was set up a meeting for indoor shutters.  Only 2 windows, but the customer has already had 2 sets installed previously, so unless she has a drastic change of mind, this will be a sale.

Other wise, business was slow.  The store is probably not going to hit its goal this week.  That's life.  We should be getting our bonus checks next week.  Since I've been part-time mine hasn't been that big, I'm suspecting this check might be a bit smaller.

Steve Schmidt, a conservative anti-Trumper posed this on his substack.  This is 91 year old Chuck Grassley not answering the question of one of his constituents.  Chuckie should have been retired a long time ago.  Why did Iowans continue to elect hi?  Nostalgia, possibly.

And I'm pleased to say that the Cumberland Country Tesla dealership had to deal with protesters.  It is some what out in the boondocks, so the fact that they got so many people was really a pleasant surprise.  Even more surprising, was that the protest made it on a number of the local news channels.  I'm certain that made other Republican representatives in the area cringe.  Representatives like Greg Rothman, who has held a townhall.  Rexy sent out a brochure telling his constituents that he felt "blessed" to serve them.  I don't think Rexy understands that voters elected him, not God, and right now he's siding with the Orange Anus, and unless he changes his tune quickly those same voters are going to fire him.  I guess he'd have to call that an unblessing... or possibly a curse.

A cup of cold water

Once again your Friday is my Hump Day.  Of course, I only have a 5 hour shift so things aren't that bad.
We did have a lot of rain last evening... and thunder... and lightening, but very little wind.  During the height of the storm I came upstairs to find both dogs sleeping on the bed.  Some dogs hate storms, mine sleep through them.  Unless they're banging away right over head, I'm pretty much the same way.
Yesterday afternoon I rode 14.5 miles down the Milan to San Remo route.  The entire route is over 58 miles.  I'd like to complete the entire ride... someday.
In case you didn't see, Billy Barr tried to throw himself on his sword yesterday and take responsibility of the gassing of the peaceful protesters.  This had more to do, I suspect, with 90 year old Cracker Jack Christian Pat Robertson releasing a statement that 'the walk and and Idiot Jerk's use of the Bible' was not Christian.  That Evangelical base?  They're fracturing, splitting  apart, cracks and fissures are appearing all over the place.  Son of a bitch!
Senator Lisa Murkowski threw a cup of cold water on the Idiot Jerk.  She agrees with Mattis and might not vote for the Idiot Jerk this fall.  He spit out his usual response.  What she needs to right now is tell him to stick it up his ass.  The more people who tell him that, the more likely we are to see his tiny little, orange head explode before the November election.
And, if that wasn't bad enough news for the Idiot Jerk, it's gets worser!  Senator Chuck Grassley (R) from Iowa has put on hold the nominations of all those Conservatives the Idiot Jerk wants installed.  That's right.  He wants investigations into the firings of those 2 Inspector Generals.  You know?  The ones who are there to keep tabs on the Idiot Jerk, the ones who are supposed to keep his dirty, little schemes of corruption from reaching fruition.  Oh... dear me.  I think this is much more a demonstration of Chuck's self-preservation skills than anything else.  He knows... they're going to lose the White House in November... and probably the Senate.  And then there are going to be investigations.
When I was talking to Lily about this she gave me one of her 'oh shit' looks.

And finally, because there is so much Chaos swirling around the Idiot Jerk, Silly Lindsey Graham has put on hold some sort of wack job legislation meant to further Obamagate...  which is really nothing more than a brain fart by the Idiot Jerk in an attempt to turn attention away from his total incompetence.

The Family Blonde

Well, I hope everybody is having a good Wednesday morning - so far mine hasn't been that bad, and I've been up since 5.  Lots of little thing happened yesterday.  I moved my computer - now all my electronics are along one wall and in the process eliminated the use of 2 extension cords.  112 years ago, when my house was built, they didn't have electricity, and when Edison's magic came to town they didn't exactly plan the outlets wisely.  When I remodeled the bathroom, I had an extra line put in which is why the computer room has three outlets.
Also, a representative from Giant called, the result of my complaint.  She apologized and said that if I buy Beneful they might be able to make arrangements to keep a bag in stock just for me.  That was nice.  The real problem is that they only have one facing and can only keep 2 bags in stock at a time and, as she, herself said, if those 2 bags sell it's going to take them 3 days to replenish...  this is not a good thing.  Especially when you consider that their competitor Weis Markets, just across the road, has 2 facings of Beneful, and they now give bonus points for every dollar spent... and they accumulate.  In fact, I checked out the Weis yesterday, too, and their pricing is sometimes a couple of cents more, sometimes a couple of cents less on the products that I normally buy.  It's take them a year but I supposed they've finally realized they need to be more competitive.
And of course yesterday Dianne Feinstein released the transcript Chuck Grassley's been trying to keep secret and, I suspect, a number of Republicans did 'the nasty' in their pants.  Oh, and evidently the Idiot Jerk's attorneys are ramping up their lawsuit agenda.  This has always been his favorite method of attack, his crooked attorneys suing the hell out of people just to shut them up.  Except it's not working this time.  He has too much bad publicity.
A funny thing from this morning was that I say the Idiot Jerk's approval rating shot up to a whopping 39% - of course that was for the week ending December 31, before "The Book" came out.  I'm sure it will drop.
And finally, my nephew's wife is blonde (probably dyed) and she's a nice woman.  Being smart, however is not on her resume.  Here's an example:  at Thanksgiving she brought custard pies and whipped cream... however, she was going to whip the cream herself, so she poured the heavy cream into a bowl and started stirring it around.  I smiled and told her she was going to need to beat if faster than that if she wanted whipped cream.  She didn't understand.  Yesterday she started complaining on Facebook that she and my nephew owe on their Income Tax.  A lot of people gave her advice, some very good.  This morning she posted the comment "I don't see why people get a deduction for having kids, that's their fault or choice."   Do I need to tell you she supports the Idiot Jerk in the White House?
