Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Trump's Mormon Problem

This is kind of funny.  While Trump was speaking to a group of pastors and religious leaders down in Florida he started whining about Utah.  Evidently the conservative Mormons are not buying his rhetoric, most likely, I suspect, because he turns their stomachs, in fact, as far as they're concerned he was the GOP's worst choice among that whole hoard of candidates on the slate.  Maybe it's because the Republican Party has turned from a conservative party to a hate party.  Perhaps they realize that as a minority religious group Trump might single them out, should he ever become president.  As we've all seen, if your a minority group you're fair game to Trump, we've all heard or read him talk about minorities "you know, they just don't get, you know, you know, you know what I mean, they just don't get it," except in regard to Mormons he'd be speaking about the Christian thing.  He doesn't care if the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion because... well, he just doesn't care.

Which is why he brought up Utah, and the Mormons, while speaking to a group of evangelicals.  He needs to get the evangelical base out to vote for him since it now seems possible that red Utah may turn blue.  This is why he's speaking to the Christian base, pretty much telling them that the Mormon's might possibly swing the election.  If he's treating the Mormons this way now, practically writing them off, what's he going to do if he ever becomes president?

What a combination, Romney and ME3

This has been a bad month on the job line for me, not because I'm losing mine, no, my schedule is all topsy-turvy thanks to meetings and classes and more meetings.  I can't wait for October to get here so things can quiet down... a little, and I can get back to a regular schedule.

On a whole I'd have to say this past week was on the funny side.  I got to watch some of the secret Mitt Romney tapes and, were I a critic, would have to call them boring and uninspired.  If you've seen any of them then you know, he rambles on and on and on totally avoiding anything substantial.  I saw where the dude who threw the fundraiser is blaming the "help."  How Republican.  My suspicion is that he, himself, taped the dinner for posterity only to discover Romney is the personification of droll.

Ann Romney's plane had to land because of smoke.  Later she whined about being a candidate's wife.  What did she think this was going to be?  A Sunday Social?

Paul Ryan got booed by Seniors and then, from one of the news clips I read, went on to lie about his percentage of body fat.

Boo, baby, Boo

Quite a number of Republicans are unhappy with the campaign, including Laura Ingram, and the want it shaken up.  I'm sure they must realize by now shaking is not going to help.  They did pay attention to their own primaries, didn't they?  Mitt basically won by default because the other candidates were just to crazily far to the right.

One of the really funny things was Ralph Reed telling Evangelicals they should vote for Romney.  Isn't that going against your faith?  Could this indicate Ralph wants a heretic in the White House?  Or, is it possible he's an White Supremacist in disguise?  Perhaps he doesn't understand that if Mitt gets elected Mormon Missionaries will swarm out of Salt Lake City like a plague of locusts.

And for all of you gamers out there, the real shocker was Bioware putting forth a statement which, and I paraphrase, states that the Mass Effect Universe is large and there are more stories to tell.  I said something similar back in... May?

Back then everybody was running around like their hair was on fire because they didn't like the ending of ME3.  Why is this funny?  Because you don't kill off your golden goose and everybody was sure Bioware had loped off its head.  I said that and nobody listened.  Now I read on Gamestop, or maybe it was Rock, Paper, Shotgun that the original team is either reassembling, or has reassembled.  Surprise.

Is the RNC happy they're only going to have a 3 day convention?

I suspect so.  Sure, both parties love national conventions, they get a lot of news coverage to stoke up their bases.  We get speech after speech after speech with a lot of music and glitz thrown in to hype up the excitement.  A lot of liberal and conservative raw meat gets thrown on the grill to sizzle, energy food to fire up those sitting at home in front of their TV sets.  There is also the hope a lot of Independents and swing voters will tune in and find themselves sway either to the left or to the right.  I'm sure there is some consternation about the Republicans now because a little thing called a hurricane has whittled their convention down from four days to three.  Still, I wouldn't be surprised if there were not a lot of party officials aren't feeling a bit relieved.  Why?  Because it gives them only three days in which they might have to deal with the issue of Romney's faith.

That is going to be an issue among Christian voters, an issue they would like to bury under a rock.  I suspect there are a lot of Christians out there who think being a Mormon is similar to being a Lutheran or a Methodist and it isn't.  Mormons don't believe in Jesus.  They don't believe in the Crucifixion, the Resurrection or the Ascension.  Talk about taking the Christ out of Christmas.  While I am not the most religious person, I know a lot of people who are and they are not too happy about having a non-believer in the White House for four years.  At some point in time this is a discussion the Republicans are going to have to deal with and they don't want it to come up during the convention.
