Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Legacy

My Friday has arrived.  I'd say I'm ecstatic, but relieved is a more fitting description of how I'm feeling.  I had having split days off.  Starting Friday, the real one, however, I'm scheduled for split days off into December.  Son of a bitch!

And yesterday was an odd one at work.  I was the only Specialist scheduled.  Only one aisle associate was scheduled, so after he left at 2 PM, I was left by myself until my shift ended.  While not being retail appropriate, I was lucky because business was slow, most likely because the temps are dropping.  And it was windy.  Many, many of my leaves blew away yesterday.

And I mentioned to a fellow associate, a supporter of the human failure in the White House, how interesting it was that since he lost the election many Republican Governors were now mandating masks.  I am not alone at recognizing this.  The WP is one of several of the 'lamestream' media outlets reporting this.  Guess who looks bad?  Not the Blue states which have managed to somewhat control the virus.  Nope!  It's the Red states, the ones who's ICU's are filling up as I type.  For those how haven't realized it yet, the Idiot Jerk's legacy will be Covid 19 and his total refusal to deal with it.  His party doesn't understand the mantle they are cowering under will stain them for history.

Michigan was hoot yesterday, wasn't it?  Two Republicans were refusing to certify the election results because... they love to believe in lies.  Not surprisingly, their decision was met with an onslaught of anger and outrage.  You see, the Idiot Jerk lost Michigan by 140 - 150 thousand votes.  No small margin there.  When he heard about it, he Tweeted some sort of celebratory nonsense, however shortly after his Tweet those 2 Republicans reversed their decision, making him look like a fool.

The Idiot Jerk also had bad luck in Pennsylvania where a Federal Judge as his Court Jester Giuliani what reason they had for trying to disenfranchise the state's 6.8 million voters.  Evidently Giuliani jingled his bells, while doing a little song and dance,  As have been so many judges dealing with this spate of fraudulent charges by the Idiot Jerk, this judge was unimpressed.

For those interested, my Christmas Cactus is once again preparing to bloom.

A Truth They Cannot Accept

Okay, so a friend and I installed a new / old back door yesterday.  First of all, I have to say that I'm glad it fits, this is often not the case when you own a 115 year old home.  Things don't fit since there are very few square or rectangular spaces.  All I need to do now is tack up the trim work.  The only problem we had was that it rained like hell.  Buckets and buckets and buckets... while we hung the new / old door.  Ah, well, these things happen sometimes.  I always say, "if that's the worst thing to happen to me in my life, then my life has been pretty damn good."

For those who don't know, the Idiot Jerk's new Reality show hit the airwaves last night.  He made 2 appearances.  Supposedly the GOP was going to go optimistic... okay, now stop laughing.  They are not optimistic about anything, which is why they went negative.  Ominous is the word many in the media are using.  Their full hatred of everything they can't control is on display.  For those who don't remember, or weren't born yet, Barry Goldwater went negative and he lost badly.  In case you're wondering, this show is only going to get worse as the Republicans desperately try to hold onto their base.

How disorganized are they?  Hell, they couldn't even getting enough of their ducks in a row to write a new party platform.  They're using the planks put together in 2016, the ones that say the current president is bad.  If they had read it, they'd have known this.  Of course, not having a platform means they are going to let the Idiot Jerk set their agenda should they once again win the White House.

Well, we know that's not going to happen.  The truth is there are very few sitting on the fence with this one.  If you think the Idiot Jerk and his flock of demons are angry now, just wait until they lose.  Their hatred will flow.  The take rejection very poorly.  It means that they have not been chosen, that they are wrong.  Ouch!  Only time will eliminate the polarization they depend upon for power.  We are the dam which keeps their rage from flooding America.  But keep in mind they are old, and getting older and America is changing in ways they cannot accept.   The last time I had breakfast with my brother I told him "there are more Blacks, and Hispanics, and Asians in this country then there are Republicans," and he looked down and away.  That is a truth they cannot accept.

And finally, as of yesterday, I can no longer wear a gaiter to work.  Masks are now required.  They're also going to check our temperature and we're going to have to fill out a survey each and every day we work.  I bought some new masks.

I don't know about you, but I'm kind of concerned some perky young thing in a snazzy bikini is running around topless.

November

Okay, so is today the end of the week or is it the beginning of another week?  For me, as long as I can remember, Sunday has always been the end of the week.  I believe the answer has to do with your religiosity., something that really doesn't come in to play with me.
I know some of you are married to Henry Cavill, at least in your head, but what many don't know is that he's a gamer.  The Internet was a flutter last week because Henry built a gaming PC... and the even was recorded.

Shall we talk about hitting all of the erogenous zones?
I had a customer yesterday who was looking at carpet.  He told me the project was on hold until the dog had passed.  He said, "my wife loves that dog, it's like a kid to her."  My reply was "except kids grow up, dogs are children forever."
The Idiot Jerk continues to slide in the Polls.  I honestly believe he thinks American Voters are going to vote for the economy over human life.  He cannot comprehend that people are not as cold-hearted as he is, well, there is the Republican party, a minority group caring only for themselves.  He went golfing yesterday again.
Starting Wednesday, the large orange retailer I work for is going to require all customers to wear masks.  I knew this was in the offing, after Walmart made their decision.  I find it rather pathetic that Governors, and Mayors, and Retailers have to make decisions our self-absorbed government is to callous to make.  If some of the headlines I'm reading are true, his administration wants to cut funding for tracking and tracing that GOP Senators included in the next relief legislation.  It's almost as if they want this thing to devastate America.
And finally, musical scores for games are so very important.  With Assassin's Creed Valhalla set to be released as a celebration of the Idiot Jerk's smashing defeat in November, viking music is becoming the rage.  So, light a campfire, grab your mug of mead, and dance away!

Thor is coming.

The Expendable Group

Another Friday and another weekend approaches!  And not only is it Friday! it's May Day!  And we, up here in Central Pennsylvania had hellacious rains all day yesterday and through most of the night.  We are under a flood warning until Saturday.  But then, this is what happens in the spring... every spring.  You would think we'd know by now.
The grass I cut 2 days ago has grown fully back and is very green.
I filled out my application for a mail in ballot yesterday.  One questions asks how long I've lived here.  Crap.  Years and years and years was not an answer they were looking for, they wanted something more precise.  I had to go into my archives to pull out the paperwork.  Son of a bitch.  It's been 26 years.  My actual closing date had been delayed early January to mid February because of snow.  I drove a red truck back then and after closing my Dad and loaded it up nightly to ease up the pressures of moving day.  I had asked a number of other friends (with trucks) to help move the big stuff.  The night before the final move we had another large snow storm (between 14 and 20 inches) and instead of having 5 trucks we ended up with 2... and made multiple trips.  Fun.
I saw where the government quietly ordered another 100,000 body bags. They're also expecting a serous uptick in the body count from Georgia...  loyal Republicans have no problem with human sacrifice.
In case you didn't know it, we have a new minority group in the United States: Angry, Fat, White Guys with Red Hats and Guns.  They showed up in Lansing, Michigan yesterday to protest.  I was trying to figure some sort of an acronym to describe them and all I could come up with was Dumb Shits... and that's not an acronym.  These guys want no rules what-so-ever.  They want a post-apocalyptic lawlessness in which they rule the land.  Demonstrations like this to far more to hurt their cause then help so... well, more power to them.  You see, in spite of what the Tucker Carlsons, and the Rush Limbaughs say, most Americans are comfortable with the Stay at Home orders.  This doesn't mean they're happy with the regulations, just that they understand the reasoning behind them.  The new minority group?  They do not.  Their actions make them an expendable group.  The Evolutionary Tree is filled with branches that died off because of either stupidity or genetic inferiority.
And finally.  Customers do come into the store with out any type of face-coverings.  They, too, are part of this expendable group.  Maybe they want Granny to die, I don't know, or maybe their missing the DNA code required for reasoning.  Anyway, Marc posted this and I'm reposting it here in the rare chance that one of them might read this blog.

Taking it home to Granny

It's Monday morning and I get to go to work and wear a mask... face mask, that is.  Mine is a tubular piece of synthetic fabric, a lot like a baggy nylon stocking.  We are supposed to wear them up over our mouth and nose constantly.  That's not going to happen, not until I get used to wearing it.  An amusing side note: I can pull it up over my entire head.  I have no idea what I look like, but people laugh when I do it, so maybe I'll bring it along home this afternoon and take a picture.
There were no protesters yesterday, and the day turned out to be nice and sunny.  The line to get into the store was fairly long.  I am impressed by the patience of people in this time of crisis.  I need to amend that to say most people.  There is that minority group out there who hate being told what they can and cannot do.  Isn't it interesting they, themselves, want dictate to us what we can and cannot do.   Hhhmm.  Many of them don't understand what's going on.  They don't care about anything but their own selfish wants.  In America, this is the new definition of Conservatism.
On a lighter side, I rode 64.9 miles last week.  Five days in a row I was on the bicycle, three of them in San Remo (through the magic of Tacx).  Yesterday, however, I was in France riding stage 2 of Liege-Bastogene-Liege.  One of the hills has a 17% grade.  Interestingly enough, it was filmed on race day so I was riding with actual cycling teams.  Let me tell you, the feeling was rather surreal seeing the Lotto cyclists riding towards me.
There's supposed to be a big protest in Harrisburg today, which is in Dauphin County... which has a fairly high infection rate.  15% of those tested have been positive.  Ouch.  Governor Wolf said "if they want to come and protest, let them come and protest."  Of course, they might end up taking something back home to Granny, but that's okay.
And now even that idiot Pence is saying the "cure might be worse then the disease," which is his way of justifying the loss of life.  He's always been a failed human.
Finally, I took another picture of my tulips, this through one of my rose bushes.  For those interested, I've marked Glen.  He.... she.... It seems to be doing find.  I suspect that might change as he becomes conflicted over his... her... It's inability to bloom.

Dribble

Normally today would be our 'Kid's Workshop.'  Things have changed.  All workshops and clinics are on hold until further notice.  Customers are allowed to use 1 entrance and 1 exit, and right now only 100 are allowed in the store at one time (that's still quite a lot).  And you can be parents will show up with their kids in tow because they want that free little, orange apron.  Even though children are walking germ factories, for these parents getting them out of the house is Essential.  I'm not working.  Believe me, there will be mild chaos.
In fact, I'm planning on staying home today.  Baking more bread is on the agenda, as well as cleaning up the yard.  I want to run the little battery powered lawn mower I have around the front yard, and maybe take a picture of my bulbs.  I planted a boatload.
I find it rather sadly amusing that the Idiot Jerk, who only had the economy to stand on, is trying to pivot to the Health Crisis facing the country.  This guy has a history of cutting his losses.  Don't believe me?  Look at his bankruptcies.  He's been told there are going to be so many casualties.  He has put that number into his dirty mental balance sheet and talked about it at his little podium, and then unapologetically written off all of those human beings.  Now he's trying to show his compassionate, presidential face to the public... and it lasts for about 10 minutes before the dribble starts draining from his mouth crack.  This tinfoil dictator he so desperately wants to be lauded with praise, he wants mayors and governors to fall prostrate before him... and it ain't happening.  Nope.  And his vile nature is cracking through to the surface of his artificially colored skin for all to see.
Anyway, the CDC is recommending everybody where a face mask when out in public.  Look what I have!

A Von Schierholtz porcelain candlestick made in 1895!  I'll sell it for the right offer (face mask not included).
I received an text from my cover artist yesterday.  She's begun painting the cover for "The Body in the Well."  I have to come up with something for the back cover...  I will have to ponder on that.
