Our outside temp is sitting at a comfortable 67 (F). Yesterday, our afternoon high got up to 89 (F), which I consider warm. Today's high should be a single degree cooler, though knowing the inaccuracies of weather forecasting, I'm suspecting we'll be topping off in the low 90s (F). Tomorrow we're supposed to have rain, of course I have plans for tomorrow.
Yesterday bordered on being one of those meh days. Rather than do my morning workout, I spent an hour out chipping away at the branches. I am pleased to say I am quite possibly 1/3 of the way down with my sawing and chipping. That may not seem like much, but when you think about what I was dealing with it is rather amazing.
I was chatting yesterday with my trainer. He thinks I should work through the end of the August before putting my Trainwell subscription on pause. We are of 2 different minds. I'm going to do a short upper body workout this morning, and then I'm going to start a 90 day pause. I will resume the workouts in the middle of November, that will give me 2 weeks to decided if I want to continue working with Trainwell. I'll be 74 by then and I may find something more interesting than Trainwell. Tai Chi might be interesting. Lower body strength is important in keeping us older people from falling down.
Today's going to be somewhat busy since I'm scheduled to sit at the flooring desk for 6 hours this afternoon. I'm interested in seeing if any of the measures I set up have sold.
With all of the chatter about the Abraham Lincoln, I thought I'd post pic of the little boat I was on.

My longest stretch at sea was about 29 days if I remember on a 28 foot sailboat with 3 gay gals. I’m not gay but not a problem. As I remember food was the most important topic of the day. Eat sleep do your watch and clean up the boat. I can’t imagine 6 months or so without shore leave. The need to put Heggy out there with lousy food and see just how tough it is for those sailors. Gigi
ReplyDeleteFood is always important. These days there are women on aircraft carriers, and they ran out of hygiene supplies.
DeleteFor this being the party that supports law and the military they treat it like shot and are showing how much they care. It is sacrilegious what is happening on the Abraham Lincoln. And contrary to what the dump says...it is NOT alright with their families.
ReplyDeleteSo far...I had breakfast in the garden today....
Remember, it's not about them supporting the law and the military, it's about them being in power.
DeleteI be hard-pressed to see him popular with anyone other than GOP loons and the MAGAts who are too stupid to realize how stupid they are!
ReplyDeleteAnd those are the only ones who like him, but then they've always been crazy.
DeleteAnd on the USS Abraham Lincoln no less, imagine what Lincoln would say !
ReplyDeleteOr worse, Harry S Truman.
Trump and Hegseth would get their ears burnt off with a blistering slew of cuss words. All this to be expected of a bone spurred draft dodger Trump and his fellow ass wipe Hegseth.
I have maga relations who served in the military and think the whole fiasco is being blown out of proportion to make Trump look bad, and those sailors should man up. Were they pissed when I told them Trump and Hegseth are the ones that need to man up and take full responsibility for this sick fiasco.

There are a lot of idiots out there who don't know how things work on a ship. During transit your working 8 hours on and 8 hours off. When you're on station you can be doing the 8/8 or you might be 6 on and 6 off, depending upon what the flight crews are doing. That gets old fast.
