I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Ain't No Yellow Brick Road

It's cold outside with the temp sitting in the upper 20s (F).  If the forecasters are correct, however, when I leave work the temp should be in the low 50s (F).  Tomorrow, the daily high is supposed to hover in the low 60s (F), and by Tuesday we should be cracking the 70 (F) degree mark.  Of course, and isn't there always an "of course," temps are predicting fall back into their normal range.

Yesterday was not bad, I did get an upper body workout in before work; burned 158 calories in the process, though my back felt a little sore last evening.  Work was slow.  I mean really slow.  This is the time of year when people usually begin picking up their "curb appeal" mulch, and grass seed.  So far, that's not happening.  I have no measures and no sales in the foreseeable future.  I'm also working 8 hours today.  If this were a normal day there wouldn't be much of a problem, but this isn't a normal day.  We shifted to Daylight Saving Time, so I'm running, for all intents and purposes, and hour behind.  I am feeling a bit rushed.  And, even though the weather today is supposed to be nice, I don't expect us to be very busy.  People gussy up their lawns and patios on the weekends, not during the week, so our big sales days are always on Saturdays.

Looky, looky, George Bush has grown a spine.

I find it interesting how Republicans are stepping up to the plate, putting the heat on the Orange Anus' administration, whereas too many Democrats seem to treating Orangie's wannabe dictatorship like the year is 1950.  Too many of them are suffering from "Susan Collins Concerned Syndrome."  Too many of them are still grabbing their pearls as though the media is going to treat this as any sort of attempt at a serious opposition.  The problem is Democrats do not know how to mount and sort of offense.  They are too used to taking the high road.  Let me paraphrase myself here:  Y"ou can take the high road, or you can take the road, just keep in mind their ain't no yellow brick road."

Republicans: Economic Failures

Well, today's already started out better than yesterday.  The sun is out.  Yesterday we had clouds throughout most of the day.  The sun didn't make an appearance until late in the afternoon.  On cloudy days I'm rather a meh person, not really wanting to do anything.  Of course, I had to zip off down to Lebanon shortly after the crack of dawn and that screwed up my scheduling as well.

I did get some writing done yesterday, but mostly I just wanted to nap, and read.

There were 3 areas of my floor that I patched with plastic wood and tried staining with one of those stain pens.  Well, it didn't work at all.  The patched areas looked dirty, and the polyurethane finish didn't help, so I sanded them down and bought some real stain.  Pricey, but it looks much better.

When I was down at the VA yesterday, one of the nurses told me about Phoenix Animal Rescue, telling me a number of breeders who have puppies that don't sell send them there.  So, when I got home, I checked out their website.  There were a number of puppies there, but there was also an 8 year-old female Boxer, and I suddenly felt so sad.  That's a terrible age to be rescued.  For Boxers, that's the age the medical problems start showing up.  I feel terrible that has to happen to that little lady.

And for those who have long term memory failure, Republican presidents always leave the economy in a mess.  Which of the 3 Republican presidents on this list passed Trickle Down Economic packages that failed?

I'll give you a hint.  George H. Bush was not one of them, though he inherited an economy that was a shambles because Trickle Down was failing so badly.  Giving tax breaks to wealthy individuals and corporations will never be successful at stabilizing the economy because those people and groups are only interested in their own bottom line.  At the first sign of a problem they beginning cutting their expenses (mostly payroll expense) to save their bottom line.  Of course, they're still getting those tax breaks.  The only president on this list who actually took away those breaks away from corporations was George H. Bush and it cost him his bid for re-election.  At a campaign rally while running for his first term, he infamously made the comment, "read my lips, no new taxes."  Of course, the economy left to him by Ronald Reagan was in such a shambles, Bush desperately tried everything.  The bottom line?  Never trust a Republican with the economy.

Defining Moments

Yesterday, on my first vacation day, I baked bread.  Wheat Bread.  It is delicious.  I used molasses instead of honey, but threw in a little extra sugar.  Simply scrumptious.
And there was another Supreme Court ruling yesterday that Conservatives are applauding regarding Ohio, and how they purge their voter rolls.  The initial case was brought by some guy named Harmon.  He evidently went 7 years without voting - his excuse was that he was unimpressed by the candidates.  He chose not to vote in the 2012 presidential election because neither Obama nor Romney jingled his bell.  What did finally send him to the voting booth?  A ballot measure intent on legalizing marijuana.  That's right, he didn't want pot legalized in Ohio.  In fact, he was so upset he couldn't vote against legalization, he took his fight to the Supreme Court.  I have a sneaking suspicion this dude wears are red hat that says "Make America Great."  The message is very clear.  Get your ass out and vote.  Your civic responsibility is the only way to control who governs, and how we are governed.  Think about why this moron wanted to vote.  Think about who we have in the White House.  Being unimpressed by the candidates is not a valid excuse.  Had Mr. Harmon gotten his lazy bones out of his Lazy-Boy and voted, he would have had no problem trying to keep marijuana illegal in Ohio.  We have an Idiot Jerk in the White House because so many, many voters stayed home because they thought Hilary had it tied up, or they didn't like either candidate.  My, didn't we all get a big fucking surprise.
Oh, and in case you missed it, the Idiot Jerk and Kim Sun Dumb met yesterday.  They shook hands.  They also signed some sort of pact.  A Russian political analyst told the BBC that "the devil is in the details."  The Chinese are saying pretty much the same thing.  They ought to know since I suspect they are the silent force guiding Kim.  Of course the Idiot Jerk will take credit.  And his supporters will trumpet his foolishness.  Every one has their opinions.  The Idiot Jerk and his supporters will see this as a most excellent propaganda tool.  Foolish Americans will be suckered in.  I'm reminded a lot of the moment when the Idiot Bush stood on the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center.  That photo op got him re-elected because so many thought those few seconds, when the setting was perfect, defined him as both a human being and a president.  How wrong everybody was.  Unless we take charge the country will head down an even darker path.  Make sure your defining moments are done in the voting booth, and not on your ass in your Lazy-Boy.  Vote Blue.

Disapproval Rating headed into the Records Book

Well... we had some snow yesterday... and it hasn't melted away yet, most likely because the temp is hovering around 33 (F).  Isn't it a good thing I wasn't planning on going for a bike ride.
Barbara Bush has died, as if you hadn't heard.  She was 92; that's beyond elderly.  She was married to George H, a one term president who started off as a Democrat...  He had problems keeping his head above water while in the White House.  She also gave birth to George W, the 2nd worst president in American History.  The son she most desperately wanted to see in the White House was Jeb, unfortunately for him W blew that possibility to smithereens.
Right now the Idiot Jerk in the White House obviously has targeted in on W's 2nd Worst President position.  I can say this because his approval rating continues to slide downward.  At no time, since they've been recording approval ratings, has any president been this low 15 months into his presidency.  This, in a rather bizarre twist, should actually please the Idiot Jerk since he's always wanted to great at something.  He is... at being a scumbag.  Everyday his disapproval ratings make the record books and the good news, for him at least, is that they keep going down.
And today, being my last day off, will most likely be busy.  I want to get two coats of paint on the dining room walls.  Pictures tomorrow.  The color is Juniper Berries - which is a lot of Forest Green with a dabble of Sky Blue.  That explains a lot, doesn't it?
And rather than do the dishes by hand, I'm going to load them into the dishwasher.  Yes, I have one of those.  I like to run it every two or three weeks to make sure it still works.
Anyway, I was looking for a graphic on the Idiot's approval rating and found this - on the Faux News Twitter feed - which is surprising.  The only thing they got wrong was his disapproval rating which they list as 56% - Gallup shows it at 59%.

I think W dropped down to 28% when the stock market fell apart.  The Idiot Jerk may get that low without the crash - now wouldn't that be something for the record books?

Bad, Bad Republican Karma

Karma has always been working against the Republicans, the Conservatives, the Tea Party, what ever name they want to give themselves.  This is an historical fact.  Mostly this is because they totally refuse to see themselves as the Grand Old Party.  Even when someone tells them they're not so grand their arrogance sidelines any chance of comprehension.  They truly believed that Reagan's landslide win made their shit a perfumey and that they could do what they want... and we ended up with the Iran Contra Affair.  And then George H. Bush swept that shit under the carpet, of course he only managed one term because their trickle down, Reaganomics were falling apart.  That was all bad karma.
And then we had George W who got into the White House on a technicality.  Right off the bat their bad karma started smacking, not only them, but America as well. We started a war in the Middle East over phony weapons of mass destruction, and then weekly color coded terror threats to terrify Americans into voting W in for a 2nd term... and then we got the worst recession in American History.  All of this happened while they were in the White House.
What happened when Clinton was in the White House?  The 'Dot Coms' hit and everybody made oodles and oodles of money... except Republican states... bad Karma.
And now we have the Idiot in the White House... holy smackarinis!  Let's talk about bad Karma! Ever since the Idiot got in through a technicality, the GOP has had so many stinky racing stripes in their tighty whities they're starting to call it a pattern... and, well, it is, a pattern called Bad Karma.  And, just as they always do, they're trying to point the finger at anyone but themselves.  In fact, pointing fingers is the only thing they've ever excelled at, so much so that it has become the defining characteristic of credibility in any and all opposing voices.

Anyway, this is my Saturday so I'm going to try and do weekend stuff.  Yeah, you know, like mow the grass.  And I want to try and hang a new ceiling light in my kitchen.  We shall see.

Boarding the Left bound train

Well, it's Saturday, and it's my 2nd day off in a row.  That's right, back to back days off, such a rarity for me.
I had breakfast with my brother yesterday and he told me that he's seriously considering becoming an Independent, after a life long dedication to the GOP.  I suspect some of that has to do with his children.  He has 6, by the way.  One has no interest in politics, one has become a devout Libertarian, and one remains a dedicated Republican.  The other 3 have moved to the left, some of them to the far left, 180 degrees is how he described them to me.  I find this all very interesting.
And, of course, the GOP is beginning to grapple with their problem:  they have a lunatic president who desperately wants to be liked.  He wants to be The Most Popular President of All Time.  However, a majority voted against him and, in fact, if people were given the chance to vote again tomorrow, he'd lose.  He'd be crushed.  As time goes on, as his approval rating fails to rise, and as more and more people take a stand against him, his positions will begin to move to the left.  If he digs in and, as the GOP likes to say, hunkers down, he'll end up tieing 'W' for worst president of all time.  The only way for him to be popular is for him to change his stances.  My money says the ego will win out.  I've already read that the repeal of Obamacare is going to stall, probably for two years.  The excuse is to let it fall apart.  However, in 2 years it's very likely we will have a more Democratic Congress, one much less vocally hostile.
I also put on my artys fartsy hat yesterday and made a lamp... or, maybe you'd want to call it a decoration with some lighting.
Anyway, I had this cut glass punch bowl, and another aquarium stand, and some marble tiles, and I made this:

It looks really sharp when the room is darker.  Nifty, huh?
And on the even brighter side, I've only got 6 more days of dealing with Jane and her sagging parts.

Happy New Year

So, we're going into the New Year.  Yippee Skippy.  I'm not excited since 2017 will be the start of the Trumpest.  I work with a Trumplodite who actually said he couldn't wait until January 20.  "That's when we're all going to start making money," he said.  I just looked at him.  I couldn't think of a response which didn't include the words "dumb shit," or "asshole."  He will learn.  As will DT, who is so damn stupid.  DT actually believes Putin is going to view him as an equal.  He doesn't.  DT will faun over Putin, not even coming close to understanding he is putting America in jeopardy.  Putin doesn't want to conquer us, he just wants to destabilize us, weaken us, turn us into a 3rd world nation.  Putin wants Russia to be Number One and DT doesn't care, as long as the two of them are buddies.
Tonight I will go to bed at my normal time, around 10:00 PM.  I work tomorrow.  Yes, there are those who shop on New Year's Day.  Some believe there are going to be special sales... there are not going to be special sales.  The store is only going to be open 10 hours.  New Year's Day pizza will be brought in for those associates working.  Wow.  Some of them will be hungover.  Not me.  Every now and then I'll have a couple of glasses of wine, though never when I work the next day.

Looking forward, I do suspect we will only have to wait a few weeks before DT starts pointing his finger at his billionaire friends while shrieking "you're fired!"  Remember W's inauguration?  Protests?  American's egging his limousine as he drove past?  This one will be worse.  Happy New Year DT.  He will be the source of a Twitter Tsunami:  "Horrible, Terrible, No Respect, BAD, BAD, BAD."  And you can bet no one in his entourage is going to tap him on his shoulder and say "remember your birther attacks?  You're total lack of respect for a sitting President?"  I wonder if he will even comprehend that this will only be the beginning.  Happy New Year DT.
For everybody else out there, grab the handle bars and peddle fast, the best thing we can do is to continue Riding On.  Happy New Year, friends!

Pussy Wrangler Wanted

Well, we have a new president.  Ezra Klein wrote an interesting piece about him and his future presidency.  Trump will surround himself with 'yes' men.  And, of course, the Republicans are all 'yippy skippy,' they don't care if he lost the popular vote.  They don't care about what the majority of Americans think.  All they want to do is rule.  The one thing Klein says that is so true is that they will have to manage him if they want to maintain control of the House and Senate.  This is probably going to be much more difficult than most believe.  You see Trump is a vindictive man.  He holds grudges.  He likes to 'hit them back hard.' and there quite a few Republicans who came out against him during the campaign.  He is not a George W. Bush, the last Republican to get into the White House thanks to the Electoral College.  They rallied around that asshole.  This one?  Probably not so much.  I suspect they're going to work to try and contain this mistake because they don't want to lose the Senate in 2 years.
This is the 2nd Republican president in which there have been protests which tells you something about the Republican Party and it's lack of popularity.
Anyway, for those interested, you can bet there are going to be a lot of new jobs opening up in the White House.  Staff you know?  The most interesting, no doubt, will be that of Pussy Wrangler.

You see Donald likes to grab 'em, which could be embarrassing especially with other Heads of State, and those in their entourage.  So they're going to have to hire someone just to wrangle those pretty pussies away from his groping fingers.

Bits on paint, Republicans and the Olympics

Well, this is my last week running the Paint Department.  That means there will be no more paint customer stories.  Maybe I'll get one more before the week is up, but I doubt it.  This isn't paint season.  Families are either on vacation or getting the kids ready for school - no one buys paint.  We will be slow.
On the political scene I saw that one of those idiots named Bush said Republicans should endorse and vote for Trump.  I just kind of shook my head.  You would think that by now this guy would have realized that the name Bush has just about as much political value as...oh, let's say... Bush.  Now, I'm sure there is some small group of Republicans who value that name... but they are small, otherwise Hillary would be going up against Jeb.
And the Olympics are going on... who cares.  Again, I know there are people in this country who are ecstatic that we are racking up the gold medals, of course, thanks to some serious drug issues the Russians are really there in force to compete.  Me, I don't care so much.  We are a vast country with many, many corporate sponsors who fund training for those with Olympic potential in the hopes of getting endorsements down the road.  We have training camps beyond compare.  We are a country of over 300 million with a vast supply of top athletes to draw from, as opposed to, say Ireland, or Thailand, or Mozambique.  We're sort of like the New York Yankees playing against the winners of the Little League World Series... you know?
Anyway, yesterday, while I was mixing paint, I mixed this:

Squeezing one out for Trump

Before I took the picture, I showed it to some of my associates, and Cori, one of my most reliable said "wow, it looks like Trump pooping out a supporter."
Hhhm, words and pictures, aren't they amazing.

Ripping the mask off the GOP

For years the GOP has tried to sell itself as a concerned, caring party.  They claimed not to be the 'white' party, that they were all inclusive, all races, all colors... all genders.  But then George W. Bush was elected into the Presidency by the merest skin of his electoral teeth and they promptly told the majority of voters, who had voted for Al Gore, "screw you."  And, of course, they gave us the 2nd worst president in America's history.  Still, they tried to sugar coat their hatred for everything not Republican... by saying you were "un-American" if you disagreed with the president about... well, just about everything.  And though they thought their mask was perfect, it was beginning to show the staples holding it together... a lot of staples.
And today, for those who don't know, is Super Tuesday, when massive amounts of delegates are chosen to represent one specific candidate.  This is the day when nominations get set in stone.  This is going to be the day when Donald Trump rips off that ugly mask to show the American people an even uglier face underneath.  Can't you hear all of his Trumplodites kneeling down and chanting "Trump, Trump, Trump."  And believe me, he has no problem ripping off that mask to show just how ugly the Republican party truly is.

And the party has totally devolved into something really... nasty.  Take a look at their party platform.  Their agenda looks like the constitution of a hate group, in fact, I'm quite surprised they haven't been designated as one.  Of course the GOP is crapping in their pants.  That loud banging you hear in the distance?  Those are the bricks flying out of their ass.  Donald Trump has revealed the truth.  They don't mind getting the support of the KKK.  They don't mind beating up members of the press, in fact, they don't mind beating up anybody who disagrees with them.  The mask is being ripped off and revealing that they are the stuff of nightmares.

The GOP and Divine Wrath

I've been thinking about Ben Carson and his inability to get the record straight.  I say this because under scrutiny a lot of his personal history, the stuff he uses to manipulate people, seems to have been padded.  Now he is saying all that jazz about being offered a scholarship to West Point was really a problem with semantics.  Dropping the "semantics" word bomb is a clear indicator that a lie has been told, and this is Ben's way of tap dancing around the truth.  However, because he's a Krazy Kristian a number of other Krazy Kristians believe he's the real thing... how quickly they forget.
Remember George W?  He was also a Krazy Kristian.  He's the one who said to Bob Woodward "I talk to my Higher Father."  There were a lot of jokes back then since it did not seem as though his Higher Father was actually listening to him.  Of course the Krazies ignored the sarcastic humor because they were in love with his words.  He was the answer to their prayers, his presidency a gift from God.  Except nothing really good came out of those eight years.  In fact, if you think back, it seems as though we were actually suffering from Divine Wrath.

Pat Robertson makes a lot of predictions about what is going to happen to the United States since Marriage Equality has come to pass.  However, every one of those predictions has already happened to us during the George W. Bush presidency: worst terrorist attack in history, failed war in Iraq, Katrina, the second worst economic catastrophe in American History.  Someone needs to tell Pat Robertson those were not our salad days.  In fact, someone should point out to the Krazies that the last time one of their guys was in the White House, this country was smacked back again and again and again.
And, of course, the Krazies, and the GOP, will put the blame on someone else.  The fact that their phoniness, just like Ben Carson's, may have resulted in Divine Wrath is totally beyond their ken.

Regarding Jeb... and his cone of silence

Evidently the news is not good for Jeb.  He's spending lots of add money for nothing.  Someone should have told him a long time ago that there are many more fun-filled ways to waste your money instead of flushing it down the toilet.  Of course, maybe he likes to see how fast the green bills will spin before they disappear into the sewer.  Of course, someone should also have told him that his last name "Bush" is more acidic then the blood of an alien, thanks to his brother.  But then W is a brother, as well as Republican, and they do like to re-write history, and surprisingly, it works on their base.
I work with a gentleman named Fred who's a devout Republican.  A few weeks back, while sitting in the lunchroom, I overheard a conversation between Fred and another associate.  Because of something Trump had said, their main topic of discussion was George W. Bush.  Neither seemed to have a problem with the former president.  In fact, at one point, I nearly fell out of my chair when Fred said "now there was a president who stood for something."  To be honest, I was worried I might bleed to death from biting my tongue so hard because I really wanted to say "yeah, he stood for, and still stands for failure."  There is a toxicity around George W. Bush which will last for generations, similar to that dead space that surrounds Chernobyl.

Bush advisers hard at work

Of course, Jeb doesn't understand this, and neither does the Republican base, perhaps because they've surrounded themselves with their own little cone of silence, they hear only what they want to hear, and everything else is silent.  In fact, I suspect, that quite often they can't even hear themselves.

The GOP wakes up and kicks a dead horse.

Yesterday morning the GOP got up and kicked a dead horse... again.  You know what I'm talking about, Benghazi.  They're terrified the election of 2016 is going to put another Democrat in the White House.  Instead of doing anything substantial to actually try and win the election, they kick a dead horse.  Why should we expect anything more out of them?  In fact, it seems as though the GOP has cornered the market on two things:  kicking dead horses and shitting in their pants, they do both exceedingly well.  While they will try and salvage a festering scrap of red meat from Clinton's testimony yesterday for the party base, for all intents and purposes they failed.  This is what was to be expected.  They've been failing for years.
And they've been shitting in their pants ever since they managed to get George W. Bush into the White House.  They totally ignored the fact that he got the job thanks to hanging chads and a conservative Supreme Court (amazing how much they liked the Court back then), and with a resounding splat, shit in their pants.  He is considered the 2nd worst president in American history, though I suspect as time goes he'll reach the pinnacle of incompetents.  The GOP will never admit to this, to do so is to admit that they, themselves, are good at only two things, kicking dead horses and shitting in their pants.

Don't believe me?  Look at those jokers who are vying for the Republican nomination.  Crazies, every single one of them.  The fact that the Republican base likes both Trump and Carson, that those two individuals are leading in the polls, is frightening.  And the rest of the clown parade is just as bad.  So, instead of presenting ideas that actually might be workable, they attack.  And they kick dead horses.  And they continue to shit in their pants.  I suspect it might be 2024 before are even able to name a viable candidate for the presidency.

Comedy Hour, Hosted by Kim and Reince

This past week, besides being a bit hectic at work, was also one of much hilarity on the Internet, know what I'm talking about, the ironic funny stuff.  Like Kim Davis' pimp Mat now saying that those marriage licenses issued by her office, without her name, are legal documents, which is different then what he and that cow he's pimping out were saying a few weeks back.  Probably because that scammy bullshit they tried to pull with the Pope backfired.  Wouldn't you think that if their Deity were on their side the whole world would have been flummoxed?
Then there was Trump's second attack on George W. Bush, which was really a ha ha ha.  The problem with the Republicans is that they are living in an alternative universe, one in which everything they do is wonderful. They love changing history, you know? And of course Jeb, who wants to prove there is a least one Bush in the family who can be a adequate president, objected.  There is no way they are ever going to admit that W was one of the worst presidents in American history.
And another funny thing was Reince Priebus' comment about the 2016 election.

I suspect he said that because he now realizes that everything is getting flushed down the toilet.  Not one person in the Clown Parade is electable.  Only an idiot can see either Trump or Carson in the White House.  Priebus knows this.  He is, no doubt, trying to get the wagons into a circle in order to survive the Indian attack without understanding it's not the Indians who are attacking, which is more of their alternative universe.  A closer analogy would be a horde of Republican lemmings racing towards the edge of a cliff.  At this point, I don't think anything is going to stop them.

Seven days and counting and Black Friday looms

Yepper, this is the last day in one of my 7 day weeks.  Except for Monday I've had closing shifts.  This suits me find.  I get many more chores done on this shift.  I hate the opening shifts because I have to get up around 0330.  That's right.  I usually don't feel like doing much of anything when I get home, except for taking a nap.  The nap bit isn't always successful since I have two Boxers who've been sleeping most of the day, so they're well rested and ready to play.

The big political news is that the Republican Party is once again has the majority in the House and the Senate.  I chortled when I saw the headlines "for the first time in 8 years."  That sounds better then saying since Bush was in the White House.  Isn't it interesting they didn't try and make that connection.  Now let's hope that they learned something in those 8 years.

For all of you gamers and Mass Effect fans out there, tomorrow is N7 day.  The Bioware Forums are a flutter with expectations.  Me, I'm going to sit back and wait.  The game will probably not be out until sometime in 2016.  Mean while, Assassin's Creed Unity gets released on 11/11, three days after my birthday - think French Revolution in Paris.  I'm excited.

Work has been pretty much the same.  We set our Pre-Black Friday - that's right, there's not only a Black Friday sale, there's a Pre-Black Friday and a Post-Black Friday.  I actually don't mind working on Black Friday.  You haven't seen anything until you've seen big, burly men with beards, running like 12 year-old girls towards the 'half off' Shop Vacs.

Bob Woodward's temper tantrum.

There seems to be quite a bit of finger pointing going on right now between Bob Woodward and the White House.  Just what it's about, I don't really know.  Personally, I suspect it's just Woodward throwing a petulant, little fit.  Why do I say this?  The more I read about him the more I understand how there is something in his ego which shrieks "I need to be an icon... no, I need to be something more!"  Just like pop musicians who know the need of having a good hook to sell a song, he knows he needs to have a good line to hook an audience.  Unfortunately for him, however, ever since the Bush administration his writing seems to be more "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours."  I became aware of this way back when in one of his books about Bush he quoted the president as saying "I go to my higher father for advice," or something like that.  I remember the first time I read that all I could say was Holy Shit.  I was so surprised Bob Woodward was pandering to the Republican base.  For quite some time after that, it seemed as if you couldn't turn on the television without seeing Woodward's smiling face.  I'm sure he sold quite a few books to social conservatives who, up until that point, never gave him a second thought.  It was at that moment I realized he was less concerned about journalism then he was with ego.

Not really invited to the party

While he has published "Obama's Wars," it wouldn't surprise me if this administration is not as Woodward friendly as he wants it to be.  Of course, Bush was only popular among his base where as Obama has an obvious consensus among a majority of the voters.  Bush needed Woodward, Obama doesn't.  There's a party going on in the White House and Bob wasn't invited as the guest of honor, more like the busboy.  Now there is this little, pissy shit war going on between Woodward and and the White House. Dig deep enough and I suspect you'll find the root cause is the small bones the administration has been throwing to him.  One hundred years from now Bob Woodward does not want to be one more forgotten journalist, just a foot note in time.
