Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Today is supposed to be a real stinker.  If the guys predicting the weather are correct, our temps should top off at 99 (F).  That's toasty.  Keep in mind, Pennsylvania is one of the Middle Atlantic states, so we're a little over halfway up the eastern seaboard.  I'm sure those states south of us are toastier.

I got a lot done yesterday, including a 10 mile ride along the Han river in South Korea.  I found it boring, so I'll not ride there again.  Three loads of laundry were washed and hung out to dry.  Today is sheet day, and they, too, are now out drying.  The high heat will evaporate the water fast.

One thing I don't like about this time of year is the gnats.  I don't know if it's because I'm so close to the river or what, but they are always worse towards the end of summer.  And me?  I'm a gnat buffet.  Interestingly enough, not at the park, even when I walk the nature trail.  Anyway, I wear a pair of sweatpants when I'm either hanging up laundry or doing yard work to keep my legs from getting chewed to pieces.

And, this might come as a surprise, but I'm thinking of dismantling my treadmill and getting rid of it.  Of course, I've thought of doing this before and didn't.  We shall have to wait and see.

Of course, there is this:

And yes, I have begun gathering things together to start packing.

And Orangie the angry anus was once again indicted yesterday for his coup attempt on January 6.  And he's fuming (there, didn't I put it nicely?).  In fact, for those who are old enough to remember, the entire GOP is squealing like Mr. Bill, "no, no, no, no!"  Jack Smith's review of Justice Eileen Cannon's opinions was scathing, saying things like she "failed to grasp the simply grammar," and "had a total disregard for history."  But then, she is a Trump loyalist.  He didn't call her a traitor to Democracy, but that underlying message was quite obvious.

Perhaps the biggest surprise yesterday was that there will be a debate.  Rats!  I'll in Greece if it happens.  There will be no open mics.  This is going to be a big problem for Orangie's campaign.  Harris is going to call him on every he says.  Hopefully, America will get the chance to hear her say, "Well, that's a lie," or possibly, "Well, that was one long rambling word salad."  It will, if Orangie shows up, give him what he loves so much, great numbers.  Millions will probably tune in hoping to see him storm off stage.  This is why I think that at the last possible moment he will develop laryngitis.

The New Toy

There was no rain yesterday, at least not around here, but then the temp never got above 81 (F) and most of the storms we've been getting are heat and humidity based.  Today is supposed to be different, much more humidity and the temps are suppose to climb into the upper 80s (F).

Retail was slow, at least as far a measures were concerned.  I did have to cut carpet as well as blinds, which helps to take up time.  I did have this one tile customer who was looking to tile her shower.
After some time, she picked a brown porcelain tile for the walls most likely because it was cheap.  For the floor, however, she wanted a mosaic and we didn't have a color or pattern that suited her, so she decided to look for that elsewhere.  When I recommended that she buy one of the wall tiles in order to coordinate the color she told me, "Oh, I don't need to do that.  When it comes to color I have a photostatic memory."  There are times when I do really need to bite my tongue.

Look!  I've got a new toy!  Now all I need to do is make sure it doesn't go flying and break something.

Of course, the Orange Anus was indicted yesterday.  Sadly, he was only digitally fingerprinted.  I would have really liked to have seen them slowly roll his fingers back and forth across an inkpad. Since I was working, I couldn't really watch the proceedings, but from the pictures and from what I've read, he didn't really draw that big of a crowd and those that did show up were in great MAGA form.

He did give some form of statement at the airport before he left and evidently it was raining, because he was holding an umbrella.  That led to a number of pictures being posted on social media of both Nixon and Juan Peron leaving during a rain storm.  Yep, all 3 of them required umbrellas.  Now, isn't that interesting.

Also, supposedly, in a new poll 45% of Republicans have said they wouldn't vote for Trump if he was convicted.  I'm suspecting that number is actually higher, and even though he has a sizable lead in the polls among Republicans, that number, too, is probably inflated.  They're going to give him all of the faux support they believe he should get.

Note This

Today is Tuesday and my four day weekly break has begun.  I will be heading down to Lebanon shortly.  Happily, most of the traffic will be heading into Harrisburg, rather than away from it.  That's fine with me.

Yesterday we had rain.  Lots of rain.  Almost one full inch fell over the region so things are going to start greening up.  I'm excited.  I didn't hear one person complaining.

And while business at the store was slow, I did manage to get 3 measures.  Management was happy.  I didn't sell anything else, however, which meant for a long, boring day.  I couldn't wait to leave.

Of course, when I did get home, it wasn't as though I had enough time to sit and play a video game.  All of the audio chapters for The Body Under Ice have been uploaded.  I've been taking lots of notes on things that need to be changed.  Like how long the break for a comma, or for a period.  Words that get pronounced oddly, or skipped.  Chapters are not recorded in one sitting, but are actually recorded in bits and pieces which are then stitched together to make a whole.  About 3 times that stitching is a bit rough and will need to be smoothed out.  All of the song lyrics that I included in the book are being removed.  They just don't work in an audiobook.  In fact, this has been a great learning experience.  I now know how much prep work needs to go into a manuscript before it gets recorded.  Here are some of my notes.

And, of course, the Orange Anus is going to be officially indicted today.  Miami is prepping for 50,000 protestors.  If it gets ugly, and that is a very distinct possibility, and if it looks at all like a reenactment of January 6 the Republicans are going to look bad.  No matter how much they want to portray Trump as the victim, they will fail.  Today is probably not a good day to be in Miami.  This is quite likely going to be a shit show that Ronnie D is going to have to deal with... that should be funny.  Does anyone know if he's even in Florida.

Showering off our Nuclear Secrets

We did get some rain yesterday.  A nice soaking shower for about a half hour early in the evening.  Any day I don't have to stand out front watering my plants is a good day.  I don't water the lawn, however, so that's nice and brown.  There is little difference between the way it looks now and the way it normally looks in late July and August.

I ordered a small weight bench because... well, I gave the one I had away because I didn't think I'd ever use it again.  Well, that proves how much I know.  I'm also planning on cancelling my membership at Planet Fitness.  I've been paying them $10 a month for almost 5 years (all through the Pandemic even though I didn't go).  As usual, every spring and summer it gets inundated with teenagers and young adults mostly as a place to hang out with their friends.  Usually, my attendance just drops, but this year I've decided to cancel.  I can restart in the fall when they go back to school and college.

The recordings are flowing in thick and heavy for the audiobook.  I emailed David telling him that most of the changes I had were editing, shortening the pauses between words.  He's changed the phrasing in certain areas which works.  It didn't take me long to realize that reading a book aloud is a lot different than simply reading it.

And yesterday I, as well as the rest of the world, got to see this.

Now, I don't know about your but me?  I saw a crystal chandelier in a bathroom, and a crystal sconce, and lots of brown marble, but what my eye was really drawn to was that crappy shower curtain!  Holy Shit!  All that crystal and marble, and a shower curtain that looks like it was picked up in Walmart.  Oh, and of course there are the boxes of documents, some of which are evidently nuclear secrets.  I'm sure there's nothing more fun than sudsing up your loofah, while reading about Iran's nuclear capabilities.

I did read through the indictment because... oh, shall we say I was interested.  I found the bit about them finding boxes open with documents spilled out onto the floor rather telling.  I personally thought that indicates that some unauthorized person might have been hurriedly perusing and photographing them... but then that's just me.  I write mysteries, so I tend to be suspicious.

Any Day Now

Yesterday was quiet.  The weather was cool, only climbing into the the low 70s (F), and we had a steady breeze coming down from the north.   They're calling for the same weather pattern today.  Tomorrow rain is again in the forecast.  We have an 80% chance of getting wet.  I'm looking forward to it.  Hopefully it will wash some of the smokey haze away.

Speaking of the smokey haze, I understand today is supposed to be our worst.  It is, at times, like fog.  Unlike New York, where it's orange, ours is mostly gray.

I was talking to one of the men working on the house next door.  He's told me it's almost time for it to be painted, inside and out.  Gray.  I hate gray.

The audiobook of The Body Under Ice is being uploaded by chapter.  That's nice because most of the chapters are short, so time wise each is about 6 minutes long.  That's probably also great for people who listen to audiobooks.  Having to stop listening at the end of a chapter is great.

And of course, there's this:

Any day now.  Possibly even sometime this afternoon.  He's broken the Espionage Act, as if we didn't know.  Remember, he's always believed he was above the law and could do whatever he liked.

I found it interesting that the House of Representatives has adjourned for the week because of internal Republican chaos.  I wouldn't be surprised if some of that had to do with the impending indictment (s).  One of Jack Smith's investigations has to do with the Jan 6 insurrection, and mealy mouthed Mark Meadows has flipped for that Grand Jury as well.  I'm sure he's already turned in texts to and from an array of people, like Jimmy Jordan, Scott Perry, and that ever popular Ginni Thomas.

And, speaking of the Thomases, I see where Clarence has has for an extension on filling his financial statement for the past year.  He must be finding it difficult to make bribery sound legit.

Indictment

For some of you Friday defines the end of the week and the beginning of the weekend, however for me today is the last of what you might call a mini-vacation, that is if I were a full time associate.  Keep in mind that for the next 3 days I'll be working at the flooring desk.  Sounds like fun, eh?

Yesterday was kind of busy, kind of not.  I got some painting done.  It seems as though I have so much painting: trim, doors, walls, and a final coat on the kitchen ceiling.  Wrote a little. Edited a little.

I'm watching what is purported to be the last season of Picard.  Let's hope so.  I don't if it's because I've watched a lot of Star Trek or not, but so much of this season, which will unite the cast of Star Trek, The Next Generation, seems to be plucking so much of it's storyline from the past several decades.  Last night's episode had the evil Changeling standing on the bridge of the USS Titan and taking command; flashback  to the Wrath of Khan with Khan standing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise taking command.  In this series Picard finds out that he has a son he never knew about, in The Wrath of Khan, Kirk finds out that he has a son he was never told about.  Been there.  Done that.

Otherwise, yesterday was fairly unexciting.  Well.... maybe not.

For all of you naysayers and disbelievers out there... told you so.  And it's only the first.

I'm fairly certain the decision to indict him was made some a while back, Bragg and the Grand Jury just needed to get the timing right.  Having them go on a month's vacation gets them away from the courthouse because the MAGA movement has been brainwashed to react badly to this news.  Overnight there were no MAGA protests, but we must not allow ourselves to get complacent.  There are going to be some very angry people out there.

Of course, Conservatives are upset.  Lyndsey Graham went so far to call the indictment "bullshit."  Personally, I think many of them are scared shitless.  They've seen the polls. Most Americans think Trump should be held accountable and the Republicans and their MAGA base are in the minority.  Trump was destined to take they down.  They are terrible losers, for that means their deepest dreams are being rejected by the masses.  They do not understand how wrong they are.

No Self-Sacrifice

Rain.  That's what we have outside.  That's what's in store for today and tomorrow.  Temps will climb about 20 degrees today, up to the mid 60s (F)  Then they're going to slide down to hover in the mid-50s for the next few days.  I don't look at the long range forecast because that's always bonkers.

The past 2 days, my weekend, have been eventful in that I've accomplished the goals I'd set: the laundry was hung and my kitchen ceiling had its first complete coat of paint.  The ceiling will need to have a 2nd touch-up coat because its a ceiling; you always miss a spot.

My little bonus check will be hitting my account tomorrow.  Everybody got the same thing this time around, both full-timers and part-timers.  Is this change going to be permanent?  There is that possibility.  They did just give everybody a large pay raise, so lower bonus checks would help to offset that quite a bit.

And I do get to go to work today.  6 full hours.  Of course I'm going to take a break.  I cooked a lunch yesterday afternoon - chicken lo-mien for that purpose.  I ate half last night, the other half will be eaten during the fifteen minutes off I get because I'm working more than 4 hours.

And, of course, the historic event that was supposed to take place yesterday did not happen.  The Grand Jury was suddenly cancelled.  There were rumors that the Trump team had another witness.  Delaying tactic?  Possibly.  Even though the Orange Anus claims he wants to be photographed wearing handcuffs, there is some fairly solid documentation that he's been worried about being arrested since the early 1970s.

The Grand Jury is set to reconvene today.  Why the cancellation yesterday?  If there was a sudden witness, I don't doubt for a second that it was, and is, nothing more than a delaying tactic.  While the OA might see the publicity in having a picture of him standing in handcuffs, the reality of him being fingerprinted and having a mug shot taken might be a little too much for his ego.  Be honest, this man has never been known for his self-sacrifice.

The Historic Event

And it's Wednesday.  The forecast is sunny and warm here in Central PA.  That's fine with me.  Yesterday began cold, but by the afternoon the temps were in the low 60's.  Today will be warmer, and sunnier.  Tomorrow we're supposed to hit the high 70's, though storms will pass through and knock the temps back down.   I like spring.

Well, yesterday I hung the door between the bathroom and the new laundry room, all that's needed now is to put the casing up.  It was a bit of a challenge since the vinyl planking I put down on the floor reduced the height by 1/4 of an inch.  I did try to put an 80 inch door in a 79 3/4 inch opening, but it didn't work.  I ended up removing a small section of the planking.  Now the door is fine and only needs to be painted.

The Twitter world, as well as quite a number of other social media platforms is abuzz today because... well there's a good possibility something historic is going to happen today.  And there are so many leaks spreading inuendo about this event.  Just how is this event going to take place?  The details are foggy, but again, the leaks are implying there will probably be no perp walk today.  Evidently, according to the leaks, the Orange Anus is rather fixated on that.  While being paraded down a hallway with his handcuffed hands in front of him would make for a great martyr picture, his ego would have a terrible time accepting that humiliation.  Let's be honest here, the Orange Anus is anything but humble.

As for the GOP?  The impending indictment is taking a sledgehammer to the party.  This is what happens when you choose party over country.  Happily for us, more indictments will follow.  They know this.  They are about to ender Bedlam.

And the Cracker Jack Crazy Christians?  You know they're in trouble when Frankie Graham is asking them to pray to God to keep Trump from being indicted.  Can we talk about failure here?  Frankie has put all of his eggs in the wrong basket, perhaps because he wanted to be more powerful than his dad, or perhaps because he's just a dumbass.  Either way, God is not going to stop the indictments, which will prove that either God doesn't care, or Frankie's been talking to the wrong deity (I'm going for the latter).  This historic event is sending the Cracker Jackers into some serious disarray.

In Truth

My weekend started last evening.  I don't see a lot of exciting things happening in the next 2 days.  The weather is supposed to continue warming up.  Thursday, my day back at work, the high temp is predicted to be up in the 70s (F).

And I do have to apologize for being remiss.  For some reason I thought Spring started today, on the 21st.  I was quite surprised when one of my customers told that yesterday was in fact the vernal equinox.  Had I known better there might have been a smidgen of a celebration.

The retail world was a mite busier yesterday.  I had some whoppingly nice sales (almost $6000) in blinds, and 3 measures.  You did read that correctly.  My bank account would have to be overflowing with greenbacks before I'd even consider spending that much money on faux wood blinds.

Before leaving work yesterday, I picked up a bifold door to go between the bathroom and the laundry room.  Later this morning it will be installed.  I chose solid rather than louvered because it's easier to paint.  Besides, I think solid door look better.

And today is Tuesday.  For those who don't know, today is the day Donald Trump told the world he was going to be arrested.  Well, the NYC District Attorney is going to disappoint him, probably on purpose because he deserves to be disappointed.  He deserves much more.  Don't worry.  The gates of Hell have begun to open.

Many in Trump's MAGA base were complaining that Florida's Ronnie D wasn't spitting out enough pro-Trump rhetoric.  How galling it must be for Ronnie D. to be put in this position.  He wants to be our first duly elected fascist president, and he he is, sort of defending the man he wants to trample at the polls.

And Republicans, themselves, are pulling out all of the stops of absurdity in order to try and discredit the approaching indictment.  Jesse Watters, of Fox, went so far as to say that Trump couldn't have had sex with Stormy Daniels because there was no baby.  Take a moment to let that sink in.  Take more than a few seconds.  Is he saying that every time Trump has sex with a woman she get's pregnant?  If that's true, then his sex life must have been pretty lonely.  Now, I want you to clear those thoughts from your mind, dwelling on them too long will lead to stomach cramps and nausea.

Dividing America

And here we are at the start of a brand new week.  Temps here in Central PA are predicted to rise into the upper 60s (F).  I'm looking forward to the real Spring finally arriving, rather than the fake spring that sprung from an overly warm winter.  We may have had a total accumulation of perhaps 3 inches of snow in total, none of which lasted more than few hours.  Just to be on the safe side, however, I will not put my snow shovel to bed until sometime in mid-April.

My back's a bit cranky again this morning.  The little A/C unit ;and the ceiling were deposited at a friend's house yesterday on my way back from York.  Of course, I was the one to carry both of them from my car to the patio at the back of her house.  The slight strain is muscular, I can tell because of where it's located, around kidney height and to the left.

I called and ordered a refill on Biggie's gabapentin this morning.  That his only med, I discontinued the Carprofen.  I took him off of it when his liver issues showed up and never put him back on it.  Honestly, I didn't see any change between when he was on it and when he was off, so I have no idea how much of a help it actually was.

I have buds on my nectarine tree.

I find it fascinating that Trump is calling for civil protests and possible violence over his approaching indictment and Kev McCarthy spit out something yesterday saying there should be no protest.  I suspect Kev is going to find out that most MAGAs see him as nothing more than a wet noodle.  By giving away the store to the Far Right in order to get the Speaker position he gave away what little authority he could scrap together to call a backbone.  MTG, Jordan, and the rest want to incite.  They see that as a strength while most Americans see it as ugly.  The Kari Lakes of this world see dividing America as giving them and advantage.  They don't understand they are actually driving people away.

As I said, yesterday I went down to York for lunch with a friend.  My route on my way back brings me up the Susquehanna past Scott Perry's Harrisburg Office.  Or, I guess I should say the former home that used to house his office.  His lawn shingle is down and that property is now up for sale.  Perhaps his neighbors complained.  Perhaps his landlords realized he was taking up space in a million $$$ property and kicked him out.  In fact, there are so many possible reasons.  I'm just glad that he's gone.

The Process

Sunday slow day.  Yesterday was Blizzard day.  That's right.  They bought a large number of DQ Blizzards in various flavors.  Sadly, they were small.  I like my Blizzards big.  Surprisingly, I only had one.  Peanut Butter Cup.  Tiny but tasty.

Otherwise the day was simply boring.  Until 20 minutes before I was due to leave, then I received a call from a customer who is not satisfied.  She is, unfortunately, going to be very disappointed.  She wants us to retile her bathroom... with 6 different types of tiles.  This includes the floor, the walls, a triangular tub, and a separate shower.  She wants a designer bathroom, one with octagonal tiles on a triangular tub.  We could do the installation, however, she wants us to provide her with a quote.  Unfortunately, the software we use does not let us build design quotes.  We install floor tiles, and wall tiles, and tiles in your shower.  If she wants a designer bathroom, she's going to have to pay a designer ($$$), who's going to hire a contractor ($$$), who will be able to build her the designer bathroom of her dreams.

A long time ago, my family owned an AKC Irish Setter my mom named Rusty, his AKC name was Sir Rusty of Fairview.  Setters have long hair, which clumps up into little ice balls between their toes when they go out in the snow.  My mom's solution was to tie white, plastic garbage bags on Rusty's legs.  He was quite patient throughout the process.

I know some are upset that things are not moving fast enough with all of the Trump investigations, and I do try and temper their enthusiasm.  Patience is a virtue, especially in regard to #45.  He is a slimy sack of shit who has learned to manipulate the system over the years.  Can you even imagine the anger if he should be indicted, only to have the indictment thrown out because some one person in the DOJ, or working with the Fulton County Attorney General forgot to dot the 'i' or cross the 't'?  The MAGAs would go into rapture.  We need to let the process work.  Take the Special Master, who seems to be completely opposed to Trump's manipulations of the Justice system.  He smacked back Aileen Cannon, proving publicly how big of a fool she is.  But it takes time.  There may not be an indictment before the midterms, but I'm suspecting possibly one, maybe 2 public announcements to thrash both Trump and the GOP.  And, of course, there is the approaching October Surprise.  An indictment of... say, Giuliani  would really rattle Trump's cage.

Republican Blackmail

Well, I get to go to work today.  That fact is sweetened by the fact that I will also have the next 2 days off.  For those who don't know, life is about balance.  The more we keep things on an even plain, the happier we are.

Even though the forecast claims we have 0% chance of rain, the sky outside is heavily overcast.  A little rain would be nice.

I got a lot done yesterday, including a 2.5 mile walk through Herculaneum.  It is not nearly as tourist friendly as Pompeii.

Twitter gave me headaches yesterday.  First of all, I got a message I was being locked out for sending threatening or harassing Tweets.  There was no example, but not knowing what else to do, I clicked 'next.'  A few minutes later telling me that there was suspicious activity on my account, and I was being locked out for them to verify.  Shortly after that I got a warning telling me there was no email attached to my account.  Well, shit.  How could that be when I'd been verified?  So, I tried signing into my account and got a warning:  wrong password.  Suddenly, there's no email attached to the account and the password I've used since day one is wrong.  Son of a bitch!  What did I do?  I set up a new account.  Easy Peasy.  No problem.  What happened to my old account?  I have no idea.

Looking out my front window this morning, I saw that my elephant ear plant had been devastated.  As you can see in the picture, the culprit was still nearby.  This is what happens when you live in Bunny Hell.

And, of course, people are talking about Lindsey Graham's visit to the Trey Gowdy show on Fox News last evening.  You remember Trey, don't you?  Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi?  Those failed hearing which cost the American taxpayer over $160 million in the Republican attempt to blame Hillary for the incident at Benghazi?  Well, last evening Lindsey told Trey that if Trump were indicted there would be riots.  Now, I don't know about you, but that sounds I think that sounds a lot like Republican Blackmail; the sort of warning a crime boss might make.  Trump, himself, while not make the threat himself, is using the same rhetoric he used going into January 6.  Personally, I'm at the point where I'm saying, "bring it on."  This MAGA cult Trump controls?  They are a cancer.  If they get away with this shit now, they will only grow worse.  The time for niceties is over.  We do not cave into threats of violence.  A large majority of Americans has had it up to their ears with both Trump and the Republican party.  Trump needs to be indicted and jailed along with Lindsey Graham and the rest of these losers.

The indictment

And a happy Saturday morning to all.  Here in Central PA it's raining.  So, what else is new?

Yesterday was a good day off.  I had my booster vaccine.  Getting there early didn't move me through the line any faster because of that 15 minute wait after being vaccinated.  No reaction.  No soreness.  After she stuck that sharp pointy needle in my shoulder and pulled the trigger she said, "your the second most relaxed person I've had today," and that was at nearly one in the afternoon.  I told her, "it's just a shot."

This is a work day for me.  Most weekend days are.  My real weekends will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  For those of you who don't know, you can get so much more done on days off during the week than you can on a Saturday and Sunday.  There are rarely any crowds.

I did some more work on the aquarium yesterday and I'm regretting I bought an acrylic tank rather than a glass one.  None of the reviews mentioned how easilyit scratches.  It does.  Son of a bitch.  I'm actually considering replacing it with a glass tank, and moving it to another location, one behind my desk. This will mean rearranging the furniture in the dining room.  I guess it's time for me to get out my tape measure.

And, for those of you living under a rock, Steve Bannon was indicted yesterday.

Will he show up to be cuffed?  I don't think so.  Being a martyr is not in this loud mouthed coward's DNA.  He will claim he's under Executive Privilege and break the law because he's a Conservative.  Of course, Conservatives have been doing this for quite some time.  The only rules that matter for them are those they, themselves, create.  They get this from Loser #45.  I would not be surprised if Bannon runs to seek asylum in... well, maybe Russia.
