What better way to spend a National Holiday then with a little lawn work? That's the plan for today. I may even get out my... chainsaw. It'll be too warm (mid 70's F) to dress up in my lumberjack gear so I'll most likely be wearing my summer garb: shorts & a T-shirt.
Yesterday was a lazy day. I did ride 7.7 miles in order to get past the 55 miles per week I need to hit my goal of 2500 miles this year. I also printed off the first chapter of The Body in the Loch. Very interesting. I researching Scottish Gaelic in order to spice up the conversations. Did you now that in Scotland gorse is called whin? And you can eat the flowers, but the pods are poisonous.
So, Biden said something rather foolish during an interview last week, something about 'if you're black and you vote for the Idiot Jerk in the White House you're not really black.' He later apologized. Me? I'll be honest, I don't know any black people who are voting for the Idiot Jerk, except Clarence Thomas and Ben Carson, and I'll be honest, I don't really know them. And I know they are both very darkly complected, but does that make them black? There is a difference, you know. It's like saying the complaints of sexual harassment by all women are sanctified... until a Tara Reade shows up. All of a sudden there's a bit of an issue. The fact that both Thomas and Carson, in both their words and actions, call into question their own self-identity. Think of it as being similar to a gender issue, if you wish. Both were born male, but in their heads the identify as something other than male, they were born black, but identify as something else. I bring this up because the Idiot Jerk's re-election campaign is attempting to turn Biden's words into a divisive hatchet job against Democrats, while at the same time he posted something derogatory about Stacey Abrams. As I've said before, they will throw as much shit against the wall as possible desperately hoping some of it will stick. This November, we need to do more than just vote him out of the White House, we need to overwhelmingly cancel his ugly reality show. American needs to fire this loser so badly his empty head will spin for the rest of his life.
Finally, I've switched to Cremo for shaving. I'm sure that just wows the heck out of so many of you. It's a cream and comes in a tube. When I took the cap off to remove the seal, I found this cute little collar. It's a nice merchandising technique. In fact, the first words I read were 'Hey there, handsome.'
When you hit middle age you really only have two choices: you can get fat and lazy until you roll over and die, or you can can get off your ass and do something, like maybe ride a bike.
Bluntness
I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Hannity, HUD, and the Thimblehead
Okay, so it's Monday and some of you had to go to work today... I didn't. My weekend started last evening around 7 PM. Two days off. Then I get to back and work for a day before having another day off.
This doesn't mean, however, that my next 48 hours are going to be leisurely. Not in the least. There are all sorts of chores and jobs planned. I always over plan, and over schedule. Usually I end up surprising myself when I realize just how much I have accomplished.
The Guardian did a revealing story about Sean Hannity and his Real Estate holdings. Seems as though he owns a number of properties in areas specifically classified as being 'Low Income,' and 'Poverty Areas.' This pretty much means he's a Slum Lord. Now is anyone really surprised? I wasn't. Some of these properties also appear to be getting assistance from HUD, and we all know who the dupe is running HUD... our very own Crazy Christian Ben Carson. Now, ain't that spicey? No wonder the Slum Lord isn't happy. People are starting to wonder just how deep his hand is in Ben Carson's pants... maybe I mean pockets... how far down does his hand go in Ben Carson's pockets. Right... as though a little bit of fabric is going to make any difference.
I haven't heard from World Cup Cycle and Ski about my new Giros, they said it would take about a week. If they call today, I'll probably make an appointment to get them on Thursday since I have take the bike in. They will put the new pedals on and then I'll have to clip the shoes on and off a couple of times to make sure everything is hunky dory.
There was also this funny story about how the coal industry is continuing to flounder; another coal reliant power plant is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. One such group wants the Idiot Jerk to declare a power grid emergency in order to get a government hand out. The Idiot Jerk in the White House is going to thank all of those coal miners who voted for him a plate of shit. Ooops. This is just one more example of how he's nothing more than a thimblehead.
Anyway, the time has come for me to start tackling my list.

We fought the Civil War to free the immigrants & other stuff
And, of course, Ben Carson has now revealed the truth about the Civil War, we freed the immigrants in order for them to find wealth and prosperity. While everybody was being distracted by Carson, the Republicans rolled out their replacement for the Affordable Care Act. Now we know why he's in DT's cabinet: he's there to serve as Dr. Distracto, super dumb ass. Nah, that's not why he's in the cabinet. He's there because DT wanted a non-threatening, Crazy Christian Black Guy who would appeal to the Evangelicals., being Dr. Distracto is only his part-time gig.
I am off work today, and it's going to be, for the most part, one of those throw-a-ways. Some bike time this afternoon, a nap or two with the dogs, and a little Gears of War 4.
First thing this AM I was at the Optometrist's office, the pressure in my eyes is good so the drops are working. He gave me a 90 day prescription, which can be refilled 3 times, so I'm pretty much good for the year. The nice thing about the script is that I can hand it over to the VA and pay a lot less. - $24 rather than $60.

I stopped by my local Giant Supermarket on the way home and the parking lot was very, very empty. The new Weis Market opens tomorrow, and might actually spell the end of the Giant. Because Weis Markets had already owned the land, the New Giant was built on the wrong side of the road. In PA we have right turn on red lights, and the new Weis is on the right side. Given a choice, would you rather sit at the red light to turn left into Giant, or scoot right into Weis? The old Giant building has been split in half, one has been converted into a Planet Fitness, which I will be joining shortly since I don't own a treadmill. This is how life is.

The Cluster
Cluster bombs are terrible things. They destroy over a wide, wide area. Sitting here watching the DT cabinet form is a lot like watching the assembly of a cluster bomb. You've got Sessions from Alabama who's a white racist hate bomb. There's Betsy DeVos who's an Idiot hate bomb (I've read her agenda will be dead on arrival). And what about Tom Price who's planning on blowing up healthcare? Don't forget Ben Carson (who's no doubt planning on Pyramids in Kansas for grain storage). We have Scott Pruitt (who really seems to like scorched earth policies). We've got Mnuchin and Ross.... I believe they made most of their money on the great recession, bleeding the debt of others for all it was worth. All of these people, a lot of whom are billionaires, don't have an inkling of what makes the average man tick. Yet millions of average men and women voted for the DT because he told them what they wanted to hear. They have yet to comprehend we are watching a cluster bomb being assembled. And when the explosions start a lot of people are going to be hurt.
But that's okay with conservatives because DT is a Republican... Those voters don't seem to understand that their party wants to blowup Social Security, that they want to dynamite Medicare. There are a lot of people who voted for DT because they believe the Republican House and Senate can control him... Wait a minute... I'm laughing too hard at that joke.
Of course I might be wrong, you see. There may be no cataclysmic explosion destroying millions of lives. Nope. What we may actually be watching is one of your good, old fashioned, cluster fucks. In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised if behind the scenes they already got out their little knives and are beginning to stick and jab. You see, there are many types of clusters, and you can bet that DT will be Tweeting every gory detail.
Oh, and by the way, I understand they're having problems getting entertainment for the Inauguration. I don't know why they just don't get Scott Baio to do impressions.

Ben Carson: Phony life = political suicide
I have to admit to feeling more then a little amused as I watch Dr. Ben Carson's personal world implode in slow motion while he simultaneously commits political suicide. Oh, sure, he's blaming the liberal media. Honestly, all of his problems can be traced to one guilty party, and it's not the media, liberal or otherwise. The only one to blame is Dr. Ben Carson. You see, he wanted to be special, and not just in your ordinary special way. He wanted to be be more then just liked, and loved, and admired as a brilliant neurosurgeon. No, Ben wanted to be adored. So much so, that back when he started writing about his life's history, he began altering facts, padding them, even simply just creating them in order to wow the bejesus out of adoring fans. Now they believe he is blessed. They believe he has been Chosen. And really, all he did was lie.
Oh, and he seems to be rather stupid, too. I mean, he's old enough and been around long enough to know that any fool who wants to be president is going to be put under a microscope. Every word, every syllable, even every glance he's made is going to scrutinized. And all of sudden, this supposedly brilliant man is coming across as a phony. Everything thing he's done has had one goal, to enhance his public image. And it's not as those these investigations are difficult and complex, they're actually nothing more then people being asked "do you remember this?" No one is digging deep into shit to turn over a rock in order to find something really stinky. They're just asking that one question, and evidently it's that one question Ben Carson never thought people would ask. Except for the Krazy Kristians who will vote for him simply because he claims to be one of their own. his political career is over. And it is funny, watching him squirm as he gets shoved out into the holy light of honesty. What a phony.

The GOP and Divine Wrath
I've been thinking about Ben Carson and his inability to get the record straight. I say this because under scrutiny a lot of his personal history, the stuff he uses to manipulate people, seems to have been padded. Now he is saying all that jazz about being offered a scholarship to West Point was really a problem with semantics. Dropping the "semantics" word bomb is a clear indicator that a lie has been told, and this is Ben's way of tap dancing around the truth. However, because he's a Krazy Kristian a number of other Krazy Kristians believe he's the real thing... how quickly they forget.
Remember George W? He was also a Krazy Kristian. He's the one who said to Bob Woodward "I talk to my Higher Father." There were a lot of jokes back then since it did not seem as though his Higher Father was actually listening to him. Of course the Krazies ignored the sarcastic humor because they were in love with his words. He was the answer to their prayers, his presidency a gift from God. Except nothing really good came out of those eight years. In fact, if you think back, it seems as though we were actually suffering from Divine Wrath.

Pat Robertson makes a lot of predictions about what is going to happen to the United States since Marriage Equality has come to pass. However, every one of those predictions has already happened to us during the George W. Bush presidency: worst terrorist attack in history, failed war in Iraq, Katrina, the second worst economic catastrophe in American History. Someone needs to tell Pat Robertson those were not our salad days. In fact, someone should point out to the Krazies that the last time one of their guys was in the White House, this country was smacked back again and again and again.
And, of course, the Krazies, and the GOP, will put the blame on someone else. The fact that their phoniness, just like Ben Carson's, may have resulted in Divine Wrath is totally beyond their ken.

I Got the Polling Blues
I was sitting here at the computer looking at the results of the Republican polls, and I realized that the later in 2015 we get, the more important they are since primary season is just a few months away. Yes sir, primary polling is right around the corner. This is the time when candidates are supposed to begin to slowly surge ahead of the wannabe front-runners, like Trump. When I hear and read what he's been saying I'm reminded of a Tea Party candidate on steroids or Sarah Palin dealing with uninhibited PMS. Carson is surging as well... well, he's going to go no where. What he really needs to do is spend an afternoon reading all of those racist tweets the GOP base fired off when Obama won his second term. He needs to understand that no matter how popular his message is, in the end they're going to vote for the white guy. And then there's Ted Cruz, who's turned into Donald Trumps number booklicker... need I say more. If Jeb Bush really wants to win the nomination he's got to do more then just sit there like a baked potato waiting to be dolloped with sour cream and butter.
And then there's Huckabee who's gotten older and fatter since the first time he ran for president. If you check out the Real Clear Politics polling website above you'll see he started off as an almost front runner but has been on the slow slide ever since. I suspect he thought his involvement with Kim Davis would give him a boost in the ratings. Haha, his numbers indicate his moment of grandstanding actually hurt him, except for all of the Krazy Kristians out there, you know who I'm talking about, the minority group who don't understand just how big a minority group they really are? A while back someone foolish dubbed them the 'silent majority.' Well, in actuality, they're anything but silent. Perhaps if he pulled out his banjo and played a few bars of "I Got the Polling Blues," it might help.
On one of the polls I looked at I saw that Chris Christie polled 1% which was lower the the 2% None of the Above received. Boy, that must be disheartening.
