Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

There goes Florida

Yesterday was busy for me:  I had a nice bicycle ride down the coast of Ireland, Skibbereen, along the Atlantic Coast.  12.75 miles.  It was nice.
I had ordered more plants for the tank from Aquarium Co-op.  They're based out in Washington.  They arrived and have been planted.  The three little angels love them.  Pictures will be coming soon.
Oh, and I cut my hair!  How's that for excitement!
California  is in the process of shutting down... again... because of people.  Don't you find it interesting that one of the first thing that gets shut down... again... are bars.  There is that certain segment of America that is happy unless they're getting cocktailed.  And, of course, we've been getting a non-message from the administration because it's okay to spread Covid as long as you're spending money.  At least Gavin Newsome has a head on his shoulders, and knows how to think.  He's trying to keep California from becoming an epi-center.
Governor Ronnie DeSantis from Florida, however, is just beginning to realize his state is now a growing epi-center.  Over forty hospitals are maxed out - no room at the inn, so to speak, and it's getting worse.  And those Republican Senior Citizens down there?  They're mad as hell. They're realizing that Ronnie lied to them.  They want him to shut down the state.  And Ronnie?  He knows if he does that the Idiot Jerk in the White House is going to skin him alive.  You see the Idiot Jerk desperately needs to give his acceptance speech in front of a crowd... a very large crowd.  The way things are going, the Republican Convention is either going to be cancelled, or be seriously restricted.  Florida might actually be... shut down.  Ouch!  Can you think of a better nail in the political coffin of the Idiot Jerk in the White House?  Why are Republicans so stupid?  I do not doubt for an instant that Ronnie now understands his political career is ending.  Good riddance to Ronnie.
Finally, AI teammates come to Breakpoint tomorrow.  I'm excited.  I had played Ghost Recon: Wildlands and had a lot of fun.  The game was still difficult, but you can use your AI teammates to create distractions, to do re-conn.  They are very handy.  Ubisoft decide to eliminate them in Breakpoint.  They wanted you to to play what's known as co-play, joining up with other online players.  Ubisoft makes more money with co-play.  People spend more money buying accouterments you can't earn, weapon skins, uniforms, badges, even canteens.  Single player gamers hated this approach, and there are a lot of us.  The blowback was fierce.  Breakpoint was listed as one of the worst games of 2019.  Ubisoft listened.  Tomorrow, AI teammates come to Breakpoint.  I will start to play it again.

Feathers

So, I've been playing "Ghost Recon: Breakpoint" and have been wondering where my teammates are at... there are usually 3 or 4 and you can maneuver them into different positions.  They provide some assistance combat.  However, with 14 hours into the game and there are no teammates.  I checked with Ubisoft, the game's publisher and... sorry, teammates are supposed to be added supposed to be added sometime during the the 1st year of release.  Son of a bitch.  They want you to play cosplay.  Cosplay is when you play with your "friends," or "friends" the match you with.  Playing cosplay is an incentive to purchase, with real money, cosmetic items: uniforms, hats, weapon colors, so you can show off to your "friends."  I play solo.  I don't need to buy a hat with a feather on on it.  So, I sent Ubisoft a protest note, not that they'll pay attention.  Their goal is to have as many games as possible generate a billion $$ in revenue... any way they can.
Anyway, my copy of the "The Outer Worlds" should be arriving Monday.
For those who didn't know, about 20 GOP members of the House stormed a secure meeting room in order in an attempt to derail a deposition... sort of... kind of....  They were led by Gaetz from Florida, the one who's had some serious white supremacist issues, among other moments of striking stupidity.  Even though no one is reporting it, I'm betting they all had feathers in their hands.  Not the kind you wear in your hats, but rather those used to... well... tickle... like this:

You can bet they weren't planning on using them on the Democrats.  No way.  They shrieked and moaned in their squeaky, right wing voices that these depositions are unfair to the Moral Degenerate in the White House.  After delaying the proceedings for about an hour, these mini-degenerates headed to the Oval Office so they could tickle the Idiot Jerk's ass.  He likes this sort of demonstration.  This is how they prove their loyalty to him.  Prepare for more of these desperate antics.
And, speaking feathers, his attorney's actually argued yesterday that he could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and get away with it as long as he's a sitting president.  Have you ever heard of anything so fucking stupid?  That the president of the United States can commit a murder and not have to worry about it.  Their feathers were teasing and toying like hell yesterday... the 3 judges listening to their argument found them anything but erotic.  Nope.  They saw how shit-stained those feathers were, just like everything else associated with this Administration.

Concern

Oh my gosh, can you believe August is nearly over!  The nights are cooler.  Waking up the temps are usually in the low to mid 60's (F).  That's a good temperature for big dogs.  Mine go for a walk in the morning when I finish writing this.  They love it.
I have 3 games ordered.  Two, Greedfall and Breakpoint should be arriving within the next week and a half.  The Outer Worlds has an expected delivery date on 10/28.  I began playing video games over 10 years ago when I found out that a game called Mass Effect had same sex relationships.  Interesting.  Very rare back then.  Then I saw a study which theorized game playing strengthened hand / eye coordination.  Because video games force you to use cognitive actions, they are being looked at as way to slow down the onset of dementia.  More and more older people are now playing video games.  Personally, I like games like Assassins Creed and Wolfenstein.  Role Playing Games make you use your noggin.  Many of them require stealth.  While I like first person shooters, I'm more of a stealth player... I like clubbing the hell out of my enemies.  Here's a little vid about Greedfall... there are some real hotties in the cast.

And I guess Dorian is supposed to hit the Atlantic side of Central Florida.  The Idiot Jerk in the White House is so concerned about Mar Lago the state he has cancelled a trip to Poland.  They're predicting a storm surge, you know?  And Mar Lago Florida is a very low lying state...  Just think!

That surge of salt water might ruin the golf course create a lot of property damage.  This is the type of concern we expect from a president.

The Oddities of Life

Yesterday was... odd, both at work and at home.
At work:  A mature woman returned 6 blinds saying we offered a premium brand and she was going to purchase those instead - she lied.  She also had 15% off coupon which stated "in store use only," and not surprisingly she couldn't use it on the Internet.  She yelled at the clerk because of that and when he pointed out the "in store use only," she snapped "are you trying to make me look stupid?"  So I politely stepped in and her attitude changed.
I worked for an hour at the Paint Desk because of staffing issues.  They updated their software and that was the first time I got to work with it... and then sent me a new associate to train.
A little bird told me they were going to transfer me into that position I applied for, the one that's part-time?  Half my hours would go there, the other half would be split between paint, flooring, and appliances.  Of course there's nothing official.  Supposedly they're just waiting for approval from Corporate HR.
At home:  I was going to go for another ride but... the ride I chose had a video update.  That too 2 minutes, however it blew out the Bluetooth sync between my trainer and my laptop which meant I needed to sign out of the app and reboot.  However, when I started the reboot I got one of those wonderful "waiting for Windows to update" screens.  After putzing around for half an hour, I canned the ride.  And then my sister called to tell me she'd gotten an iphone....  My sister has spent her entire life refusing to interact with technology.  I think I laughed hysterically for at least 5 minutes.  She's never going to use that thing.  Oh, and I did get the access code for Beta access to the next Ghost Recon game: Breakpoint.  Beta access allows game player to try and 'break' the game in order to find bugs and glitches.  At this point, however, because it's an 'open Beta' the game is considered 'consumer ready.  I should be able to download it sometime between 9/2 and 9/9.

Oh, and I just got a news flash that Boris Johnson has asked the Queen to suspend parliament.  He can't wait to leave the EU.  Even when the truth gets shoved into his face, he will not understand that the days of the British Empire are over.  He is quite a bit like those bumble headed Republicans in this country who still think their wet dreams over the 1960's are romantic.
