The HO HO HO

 So, I signed up for CBS All Access last evening.  There aren't a lot of shows I want to watch, but there are a few, and in December "The Stand" is going to drop.  After that I'll probably cancel out.  I can't see wasting my money on something I'm not going to watch.  This is what's good about 'no subscription contracts.'  

Oh, and today is my weekend, Saturday and Sunday all wrapped up in one day.  Tomorrow I go back to work for another 5 days.  Don't color me excited.  We have potential customers asking how far out our installations are scheduled.  Well, we don't.  We tell people 2 - 3 weeks.  That's not the answer they want to hear.  But, this is how life is right now during the time of Covid.

And, speaking of Covid.  We had a customer yesterday wearing a black T-shirt that read 'I'd rather get Covid-19 then vote for Biden.'  I almost laughed at him... but didn't, the large, home improvement retailer I work for has no problem taking money from morons.  Anyway, this customer bought a pallet of cheap laminate and asked if we could load it into the back of his pick-up truck.  No problem.  So we put the pallet on a fork lift.  As we approached his truck, he dropped down his tailgate and we saw he had all this PVC piping bolted to it.  That's my flag holder, he explained.  "I can fly five flags in that sucker when I'm driving."  Of course, you can guess who's flags he was talking about.  That's right, the Idiot Jerk.  And, of course, I couldn't laugh at him because we're not supposed to laugh at idiocy.,, at least not while we're standing face to face.  We did have a hearty ho ho ho when we got back inside the building.

 And finally, when I got back from Planet Fitness yesterday I snapped a picture of my Zinnias, still blooming in November.

My Zins

Okay, like this is the first day of my 3 day weekend... and I got up at my standard early morning time.  No sleeping in.  I was briefly tempted to turn off the light and visit slumber land for another hour or so but remembering my 'to do' list chose not to.  Call me determined.

Yesterday was so slow at the store... not that we didn't have customers in flooring, I just didn't want to be there.  Attitude, you now?  

Hanna hit Texas.  She will move inland for a bit and then north, hopefully bringing us some desperately needed rain.  Mowing the lawn is far better than having brown, crunchy grass underfoot.  My little container garden is suffering, as are my flowers.  There isn't going to be a single leaf on my River Birch by the time fall gets here.  The only color I have in my yard are my Zins.

I'm planning on a fairly long ride today.  Maybe Corsica.  They'be been odd for the past 2 days.  For those who didn't know, Garmin has evidently been hacked with ransom ware.  According to Velo, the hackers were asking for $10 million.  Everybody is waiting to see if Garmin will pay.  Where is America's Cybersecurity?  Oh, that's right, they have been downsized to keep them from discovering Russian hacking in November.

I did see a funny comment by Anthony Scaramucci regarding the Idiot Jerk:  "he makes a terrible president, but he's a pretty good stage performer."

His tactic of pivoting to law and order is failing him since the only people who see any justification in sending in Federal Agents are white Republicans.  There is no stopping his campaign's slow death spiral.  As a failed businessman with 6 bankruptcies under his belt, he has always made bad decisions.  When this whole thing is over, Americans are going to find out just how poor he really is, of course, the only ones who are going to be surprised are his base.  Even then, they will claim it's fake news and bury their heads back in the sand.

Low-Hangers

In case you didn't know it, we have 3 weeks left until Spring comes knocking at our door.  There are those who warn with a threatening finger "we can still have a bad snow storm."  Sure, but this late in the season we know what ever snow we get is not going to be hanging around for 6 months.

I ordered more plant cages for the bulbs out front.  They arrived yesterday.  My bulbs are already shoving their hungry little leaves up through the dirt.  There are either 60 or 80 tulips and some other things planted.  The other things have puffy blue flowers.  I threw the bag top away so until I see them bloom, I'm calling them Puffy Blue Flowers.  Also there are the Dahlias.  And this year Zinnias will be planted.  I am looking forward to spring.

Not surprisingly, Joe Biden won the South Carolina primary.  He trounced Bernie badly.  Others were trounced even worse.  Tom Steyer, realizing the door to his political future has shut, dropped out of the race.  Now a few of the other low-hangers need to do the same.  Oh, sorry about that.  I forgot that for some of you 'low-hangers' means something totally different then an unpopular political candidate.

Anyway, I saw where the Idiot Jerk said something about the spreading Coronavirus being the Democrats next great hoax... and then yesterday the US had it's first death.  And they're fairly certain there is an outbreak in a nursing home.  Ooops.  And the military is not looking at curtailing some operations because of a... hoax.  There is a set of really big low-hangers right in front of him (not the political kind) and he is continually running blindly into them.  What he really needs to do is reach out and embrace them.  Well, that'll never happen.  Actually, the idea of him embracing a set of low-hangers is rather revolting.  We just need to sit back and let the Coronavirus do the job it was intended to do.
