Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Farm

I spent the afternoon at my brother's farm yesterday.  No politics.  The gathering was small, just he and his wife and my sister and brother in law.  And farm animals.  Small farm animals, except for the chickens and turkeys.  I took a couple of pictures and very short video.  He has 3 fainting goats; when you touch them, they're supposed to fall down.  Only one does that.  One freezes in place.  The other, Getty, looks for another doesn't really care.

This is Getty

He has 2 turkeys.  They are big.  He also has to keep them separated because both are males and they will fight.  They are both loud.  They also seem to draw wild turkeys.  He named them because their sole intention was to be pets.  I don't remember their names because... well... they're turkeys.  Here's the brown one.  By the way, Henry is the pig.  He bites.

I didn't really pay any attention to politics in the news.  Well, not quite.  I saw where Loser #45 shit out some sort of nonsense about a the Maricopa County database being deleted.  No lie is to extreme for him.  You'd think he might actually want to work fulltime on a farm with all of the shit he shovels.

Soon

I thought it was Saturday when I woke up this morning.  Of course, it isn't.  Friday is on the menu for today.  Well, it is payday, so I guess that's a good start.
Yesterday I went to my brother's farm.  He and I gathered 3 super big buckets of walnuts.  Time to put my tool to use.  He lost 13 chickens to some sort of virus.  I felt bad for him.  They have their chickens for the eggs, so they're mostly treated as pets.  He's needs to build a little coop for the 3 still living, and totally anti-everything the big coop before he can get more.  His turkeys?  Holy Shit!  They are the size of medium sized dogs.  A bit frightening, too.  They can be aggressive birds.  You have to remember, a long, long time ago, their ancestors were dinosaurs.  I have no idea that soon they will take over his farm.
Oh, and of course, there is the Kavanaugh fiasco.  I see the Idiot Jerk in the White House is looking for a quick vote.  We all know he's a selfish sack of shit and only thinks about what he wants.  An NBC/WSJ poll shows more Americans disapprove of Brett, than approve.   Is it because of the allegations?  Or, possibly, because he looks like a smarmy, little, piss-ant of a man?  Look in his eyes and all you will see is petulance.  Another funny thing is that Evangelical leaders are putting out the word that if Brett doesn't get his seat, their voting block may... just... stay at home this November.  Sounds like extortion to me.  Or, maybe, they've just decided that now that they've shit on their plate they might as well eat it.  We will know soon enough.
'Soon.'  I've been using that word a lot lately.  Friends will turn to me and ask me a question and my response is inevitably "soon."  Sometimes 'soon' is a closer than you might think.  And sometimes it's not.  'Soon' puts a chink in the armor of patience.  Everybody wants to know.  All I can say is... "soon," and maybe tease a little.

Down on the Farm

My weekend is over.  I get to go back to work... on a Friday knowing that my next weekend will not happen until next Wednesday.  That's sucks.
I was down on the farm yesterday - my brother's farm.  He and his wife have a very large garden, they do need to spend more time weeding.  My grandparents had a large garden and my grandma weeded for a couple of hours every day.  They are a lot of work.
He has chickens and turkeys and a pot bellied pig, as well as an old dog.  Oh, and there's a 5 foot black snake living in the barn... somewhere.  I told him to let the snake alone, it will eat the rats.  There are always rats because of the grain.  That's also why cats are a valuable asset.  They just love eating rodents.  I snapped a pic of him in the barn with two of his turkeys.

I asked him if they're going to be eaten.  He said, "nah, they're pets."  My brother has a pet farm.  They'll get eggs from the chickens, but that's about it.
They also have walnut trees.

I got some tomatoes and peppers as well.  I told him they need to start making sauce.
Oh, and I saw that Melanoma's parents became citizens in a private ceremony yesterday.  Isn't it interesting how the Idiot Jerk says that's a shitty way for immigrants to become Americans... but it works for him just fine.  Another funny thing is that the Idiot Jerk's administration now wants to make becoming a citizen even more difficult.  These people are so damn two-faced it's ridiculous.
