Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Booing the Demigod

Holy Hannah!  Our overnight temp did not fall into the 40s (F), but stayed in the mid 50s (F).  Yesterday's afternoon high was in the low 70s (F), today we should be climbing into the mid 70s (F), and tomorrow into the upper 70s (F), but then rain again moves into the picture, though not from Isais.  The projected tract for the hurricane is, however, going to come barreling up into central PA.  So much for the United States going a season without a hurricane.

A lot of running around was done yesterday.  My mail-in ballot was taken care of and I did some shopping, including buying a new pair of sweat pants at Dicks.  There is a certain brand that I like, but I'm not one of those people who needs to stick with brand loyalty, so I ended up buying a pair of Dick's generic brand.   The fact that the generic brand started out with a $45 price tag had a lot to do with my decision.  Seeing named brands $20 to $30 more initiated my sticker shock.  Holy schmackarinis!  I checked the tag to see where they were manufactured: Vietnam.  Geez.  And here I thought Vietnam caved so they wouldn't be hit by the tariffs... so something else must be driving up the price.  Diesel fuel, maybe?

I also took a few minutes this morning to check out my followers on Threads.  There seems to be an inordinate amount of sex workers and Musk bots who love what I say.  This morning alone, two of the Musk bots followed me.  While Threads is associated with Instagram, it's not the same.  On Insta you need to request to follow me.  I get a lot of requests from sex workers even though my profile specifically states "sex workers need not apply."

And I found this headline in yesterday's WaPo simply fascinating.

Yeah, you read that number right, Republicans have spent over half a billion dollars on the midterms to no avail.  The belief used to be that going into an election with a large war chest would help your chances of winning tremendously.  Of course, that belief is pre Orangie.  When you have a president with a 29% approval rating, all of the buckos under your belt mean nothing.  There have been 2 leaks from the Paxton team about Orangie "dragging them down."  Orangie's ego will never let him understand this, so last night, in Texas, he stood on a stage and was loudly booed 6 times.  That's right, his lies were interrupted 6 times by protestors.  How demoralizing that must have been for his loyal cultists sitting in the audience, to have to listen to people booing your demigod.

We need much more of this, because every time it happens another pin gets stuck into the Orangie voodoo doll.

Dickey Dunkin'

Another cool night is almost over here in Central PA.  We got down to 41 (F) and my heat is on; every time I write that phrase I think of the Glenn Fry song, never, ever one of my favorites.  Anyway, our outside temp is now up  to 42 (F).  This afternoon's high is predicted to be in the low 70s (F).  That afternoon high is expected to be extended over the next several days.  This is a nice way to enter the frosty time of the year.  These temps always remind me of that old ditty:

When the nights are warm and sticky

Ain't no time for dunkin' dicky,

When the frost is on the pumpkin

Then's the time for dicky dunkin'

Gee... I hope blogger doesn't censor me for that.

Yesterday was, for the most part, an good day.  Breakfast with the bro.  Then several loads of laundry done.  I made some rice pudding with cinnamon and raisons.  My afternoon was spent chopping out the initial verbosity of The Body in the Words.  I find it amusing that a book about murder and words might have too many... words.

Here's a picture of my roses taken yesterday afternoon as the shadows were beginning to fall.

One of the things my brother said yesterday about the midterms, is that if they go badly for the GOP it's the party's fault.  This is patently false.  The blame falls on the shoulders of those voters who either couldn't vote for a woman, or who thought the Orange Anus wasn't going to be as bad as he is.  Since we're talking about the Republican party, both statements are true.  They have never been the brightest bloc of voters in the United States, and they have always been too quick to sweep bad morals under the rug.  The GOP is, after all, the party of Family Values.  Boy, that's a statement we haven't heard in a while, is it?  When Democrats get caught in a steamy scandal, they either lose an election or resign.  Republicans have always taken a different approach.  They always made a statement and then brought their wife on stage to tell the world she forgave her husband's indiscretions, as though it were her fault he decided to be dunkin' dicky elsewhere.  Of course, that doesn't happen anymore, just as Republicans no longer call themselves the party of Family Values.  At least they're no longer pushing that lie

A Little Later Today

I had breakfast with my brother this morning, so today's running a little late.

We have a chilly day on tap here in Central PA.  Our high this afternoon is expected to be in the low 60s (F).  Right now our outside temp is 48 (F).  We are supposed to have full sunshine, which is nice.  Most of my windows have a southern exposure so all of that bright sunshine pouring in through them will keep things at a constant temp.  My heat is set to go on if the temp drops below 68 (F) and so far that hasn't happened.

I did work yesterday.  Things were very slow at the flooring desk, which is where I spent most of my time since I was the only one in the department.  I also did a lot of aisle work since that's my new job description.  One of the full time specialists is talking about stepping down out of his position and moving to a different department.  He sometimes rushes through his sales without checking carefully, making mistakes that management is tired of correcting.  One of the appliance specialists is thinking of doing the same thing.  He had himself switched to a plumbing sales associate so he wouldn't have any metrics, but then stayed in the appliance department because he didn't want to work in plumbing.  Well, he's an appliance specialist again with metrics and he's upset because he's not going to be held accountable.  I suspect he will end up resigning.

As for breakfast with my brother, he's against the war, yet he still supports the Orange Anus. I suspect this is because for years Republicans have deluded themselves into believing that with the right conservative leadership, massive numbers of Americans would simply choose to become conservatives.  Republicans have been delusional since Reagan, so there's no fixing them.  He did say that if the GOP suffers badly during the midterms it's their own fault.  He's still not making the connection that he, himself, is one of the  millions who are to blame simply because of who they elected.

And, of course, last night this happened.

I actually saw the clip of him saying this.  His words are directed solely at his base.  No one else in America condones this evil.  Threats like this will not make him popular, nor will they win him supporters. I don't doubt he says things like this because his dementiated brain actually believes this and has no problem with a foreign government taking out Americans on American soil.  Comments like this might be one of the reasons Fox Entertainment is no longer carrying his rallies.  Perhaps Rupert has learned that airing hate like this is like walking into quicksand, without help there is no way out, and I'm fairly certain at this point that no one is going to throw Ruppie a rope to save his network.  The truth is that the Ellisons might actually be hoping for something like that to happen, since that might propel one of their Fox Lite channels into the number one propaganda slot.

The Rallies

Yesterday our weather was crappy.  Overcast skies, with drizzles throughout the day, and a high in the low 60s (F).  Last night I turned on my heat.  The thermostat is set at 68 (F).  I wouldn't mind the low temps, but I truly am tired of all the precipitation we've been getting.  We're supposed to have sunshine for the rest of the week with temps in the mid 70s (F).  I was hoping the transition to Autumn would be quick, however these weather patterns are dashing my hopes.

Something's up with blogger again.  Bob's Saturday post showed up this morning with a posting time of 0800 this morning, however it's 0732.

I worked in the paint department on Saturday with a paint associate who used to be a doors and windows specialist until they started moving people around.  She's unhappy.  Her hours were cut.  However, besides her part-time job with the orange retailer, she has a full time job with the state that pays well.  She was complaining because her husband was up for a promotion and didn't get it.  And all the while I'm thinking, maybe she shouldn't have bought that Lexus last year, the one she told me she still owes $26,000 on.  The icing on the cake is that she is a Republican and a supporter of the pedo in the White House, and she is still waiting for him to make things great again.

So, I plucked my last tomato from my garden this morning.  This is a beefsteak tomato, however, when you see it next to a butter knife you know it's not that beefy.

The Orange Anus doxed Republican senator Tom Cotton on Saturday by publishing his personal cellphone number.  This is the sort of thing 12 year-old children do when things aren't going their way.

Orangie is also campaigning in 17 states to support Republican candidates.  There are those who don't believe he'll survive this, and some are praying he doesn't.  I'm betting he does, though by the time his last rally rolls around his speeches are going to be so off the rails even Fox Entertainment won't be carrying them.  He had one yesterday in Mississippi and he had a crowd, sort of.  Most of the people were wearing MAGA haute couture and I knew that these were people with a poor education, and poor jobs who seriously believed  Orangie was going to make them great.

We've got less than a month before the midterms and a day doesn't go by in which the Orange Anus doesn't do something to piss off even more Americans.  This is a good thing.  Saturday evening in Ohio he told Republicans that if they all go out and vote Republican victory was going to be so big they were going to celebrate by "shoving it up the Democrats ass."  I can remember when Republicans at least made the attempt to say they had ethics, and values, and morals.  Not any more.  And if November goes badly for Republicans he's going to strike out in anger.

Prepare Yourself

We had a few showers yesterday afternoon around 4 PM as the cold front moved over us heading eastward.  No terrible storms announced the arrival of cooler temps, but they are here.  For a few  brief days T-shirt and shorts weather returned.  Those temps are fast falling away.  Today's high will be in the low 70s (F), tomorrow's in the high 60s (F).  Overnight lows will be down in the 40s (F).  This is Autumn.

Yesterday was sort of an on and off busy day.  I cleaned windows, I wished that meant that the world was a lot clearer, and it is in my backyard.  I also bought a new pair of work pants at Community Aid.  I suspect that my days of buying new clothing are over.  I am in the casual years of my life, and believe me, they are so nice.

Today is a work day, and because today is the first Saturday of the month there will be a Kid's Workshop taking place.  This means that my afternoon will be spent in the paint department.

The East Pennsboro Newsletter arrived yesterday detailing everything that's going to be happening in the community for the next quarter.  Besides updating me on what's going on in the senior center, it also let me know that our Halloween parade is October 21.  This is important because they shut down a lot of roads for the parade and on more than one occasion I've had to take a seriously alterative route to get home from work; preplanning is imperative.

I got my mail-in ballot and it's filled out and waiting to go.

Rather than mailing it out, this year I'm going to be driving it to the drop box in Carlisle, a twenty minute ride.

And you know the Orange Anus is going to try and do screwup the midterms.  He may try to enact the Insurrection Act to put troops at polling places, of course that will be appealed.  Even if there is a Blue Wave, he will be doing as much damage as possible until those Senators and Congressmen are sworn in.  One of the things he'll be doing is selling pardons, lots and lots of pardons.  We'll end up knowing who all is in the Epstein files because he's going to pardon each and every one of them... for a small fee.  Prepare for an onslaught of Executive Orders.  He'll be signing EOs faster than Natalie Harp can change his diaper.  He will also start stealing everything that isn't bolted down... literally.  There will also be wonton destruction in each and every government office; files will be erased, records will be copied and sold to the highest bidder, and computer systems destroyed.  George W.  did something on a lesser scale.  As a result, massive numbers of Americans will rise up and stomp the shit out of the Republican party, the conservative movement, and Evangelical Christians, holding them all to blame.

A Bad Jobs Report

So, if the forecasters are correct, we're going to be enjoying the last of our summer weather today with this afternoon's high in the mid 80s (F).  They were correct about yesterday's temp, so they're is the possibility they may be right about today's.  Just keep in mind, they're not always known for their accuracy.  Next week's overnight lows are supposed to be touching down in the low 40s (F).  With a couple of blankets on the bed that will be good sleeping weather.

Yesterday was my first day as an aisle associate, and body did I get the steps in with almost 15,000.  Since I wasn't sitting at the flooring desk, I can honestly say that I picked things up, and put things down.  Also, one of my measure customers was waiting for me when I got there and had a $3500 sale, not that it counts any more.  Mine was not the only change.  The other part-time flooring specialist is now a cashier.  I talked to her yesterday and she's quite happy with the change.  The only people not happy are the two remaining full time specialists.  Their sales goals and measure goals are now double what they were.

I have today off, so there's some shopping planned for later this morning, and then some mobility exercises for this afternoon.

And this is not good, especially for retailers.

Ah, but the Republicans aren't worried.  The Orange Anus is sending out almost a million $500 checks to individuals on Medicare claiming they were overcharged during.... are you waiting for it?  The Biden administration.  And it seems that most of these checks are being mailed to Medicare recipients in battleground states.  That's right, he's trying to buy votes.  Will the bribery pay off?  Except for his cultists who believe every word out of his mouth is holy, that $500 is not going to be enough to swing many votes in the Republican direction.  I'm curious to see if I get one of the checks.  If I do, then I know it will be an out and out bribe since, even though I pay for Medicare, I use my Veteran's Administration benefits instead.  Oh, and one final note, these checks are your tax dollars hard at work.

I was also notified by the state that I should be receiving my mail-in ballot any day now.  This year, rather than mailing it back, I'm going to be dropping it off in an official drop box.

How Can This Be!!

We're supposed to have a scorcher today... at least an October scorcher.  Our afternoon high will be sitting in the mid 80s (F).  Humidity will be rising.  There were showers this morning, but none around my house.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a repeat of today except the showers will be storms as a cold front moves through the area.  Yepper, tomorrow's high will be in the mid 80s (F) and Saturday's high will be in the low 60s (F).  I might actually need to turn on my heat.

And yesterday was another big Autumn cleaning day!  There's spring cleaning and then there's fall cleaning.   With one you prepare to summerize your home, the other winterizes. And there are also Howie cleaning days, they happen much more frequently out of necessity.  Howie is a walking, barking, hair storm.  There are times when he is a shedding extravaganza, more so in the spring then at any other time of the year.  It's almost as though my house is super hirsute and in constant need of barbering.

I'm working this afternoon, and I will no longer be a specialist.  All of my schedules have been changed and I'm not listed as "aisle maintenance."  This means I no longer have any metrics and those measure I got last week will be processed by another associate.  That's fine with me.

This was a headline this morning's Washington Post and I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised.

Single handedly the Orange Anus is destroying the Republican Party.  I don't think that the Conservative movement is even slightly prepared to take a big one on the chin.  I can almost hear them now running around and shrieking, "How can this be!  How can this be!!"  Can you hear me laughing?  They truly did believe that the Orange Anus was going to give them the authoritarian government they've always had erotic dreams about.  Hhhmm... maybe I should have said wet dreams.  This would, of course, include Susan Clark who's always fantasized about being one of the boys.

And everyday things continue to get worse for the Republicans (their stupidity is quite amazing).  Take Marsha Blackburn, who has decided to sue Jack Smith because he asked for the call logs of a number of phones... but not the phone's contents.  Not knowing the difference, Marsha with the bad hair has decided to take Jack Smith to court.  This means there will have to be a Discovery phase during which Marsha will have to release the contents of her phone calls.  Marsha's running to be governor of Tennessee (the state where they just tried to execute a woman with 2 lethal injections and failed).  She thinks this will endear her to the voters.  I can already hear her running around and shrieking, "how can this be! How can this be!!"

Priceless

Well, it's 63 (F) here in Central PA and we'll be topping off in the upper 70s (F) sometime this afternoon.  Tomorrow and Friday our daily highs will be in the mid 80s (F). This is great when it comes to saving on your heating expense.  I like to keep the heat turned off until October, some years that has been difficult.  Not so this year.  Except for those 2 weeks during which the sun attempted to melt us, this summer has not been that bad.  Natural gas and electric bills are still going up, but not because of usage.  High bills have everything to do with price increases and little, if anything, to do with how frequently they've been turned on.

Even though I did a lot yesterday, some serious fall cleaning, baking a bread pudding, and working on the new book, I still had enough time for naps.  This tends to be SOP whenever I work 25 hours.  Whether this is actually work related, or the fact that I sometimes just look for an excuse to take a nap is up for debate.  It doesn't help that Howie knows what the word nap means and the mere mention of it sends him racing up the stairs.

As I've said, I've been playing Kingdome Come, Deliverance II, and I will admit to having made some serious mistakes.  This is a Role Playing Game in which your main character (me) has to both eat and sleep... and bathe.  If you don't take a bath, other characters will tell you that you stink and refuse to help you.  If you don't eat or sleep the game will just grind to a halt.  These are things I had to learn.  This being said, this evening I'm going to load an earlier save and start anew.  Here's the trailer.  Be forewarned, there is violence and language, and when I get farther on in the game there will be sex.

And yesterday the Republicans demonstrated on a massive scale their total incompetence. They spent hours and hours building up a case Jack Smith, alleging that he colluded with Frani Willis down in Atlanta at a basketball game.  They went to the hearing fully armed with posterboards.  Kennedy, from Louisiana, also known as Foghorn Leghorn, said that Smith made him want to throw up.  However, they didn't do their homework and all of their posturing and posterboards were for naught. Jack Smith was not with Fanni Willis at an Atlanta Hawks game, he was at a Hawkeyes basketball game in Maryland with his wife.  The look on Katie Britt's face as she came face to face with her "Oh, Shit!" moment rocketed around the internet because they had everything wrong.  Her look is priceless.

They allowed Jack Smith to tell the truth about the Orange Anus because they thought they were going to nail him with a lie... and they utterly failed.

Orange, Red, and Blue

Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening people.  Weather forecasters are predicting that our high this afternoon will be in the low 70s (F).  Tomorrow's high should be in the mid 70s (F).  Temps are supposed to increase until Saturday, at which time rain is going to once again come into the picture.  Some forecasters are predicting at least an inch of rain on Sunday... again.  We had rain this past weekend thanks to a Nor'easter.  If this keeps up, I'm going to have to mow my lawn again.

So, I worked yesterday and a change happened.  Around 5 PM I was called back to the office.  Usually when you get called back you've done something... wrong.  Being the wonderful associate I am, I knew that couldn't be the case.  I was correct.  My position has been changed, and I have no problem with that.  I am no longer a Flooring Specialist, which means no more sales goals, credit card goals, or measure goals.  I am now a Flooring Aisle Maintenance Associate, at my same rate of pay, of course.  The change was done because corporate only allows so many hours for specialists and that number is predicated by the total dollars in sales.  Basically, our flooring sales aren't high enough to warrant 2 full time and 2 part-time specialists.  This is actually fine with me, because I've really gotten tired of having to call people up to try and talk them into buying a flooring installation.  In my mind, this is a win, win situation.

And I'd like to remind you about the Orange Anus and Carrier, the A/C company.

Back in 2016 there was a big "to do" about Carrier moving its manufacturing to Mexico, and Orangie intervened.  He was going to save all of those jobs.  One of his deals was struck (do you know where this is going?) and jobs were saved.  800 jobs remained in the US, however 1400 from one Carrier plant moved down to Mexico.  Other Carrier jobs followed.  I'm bIringing this up because yesterday Orangie made a big announcement about a steel plant opening in Iowa, a $15 billion steel plant.  Iowa, a very Red state, is very close to turning Blue, and Orangie is scared shitless, hence his $15 billion lie.  We all know that plant will never be built, let's just hope that the Iowans have grown smart enough to know how much Orangie lies.

The Rats Are Learning Too Late

Good Morning World.  Our outside temps here in Central PA are in the low 60s (F).  They will climb into the high 60s (F) this afternoon, but that's just the beginning of a mini-warmup.  By Thursday we should be flirting with the low 80s (F) and no, this is not Indian Summer, or whatever you call the annual fall warmup in your neck of the world.  Things might get a lot warmer, too, because there is a "planetary heatwave" (meteorologist word) heading towards California.  That wave will move east, they always do.

Yesterday was a full day at work, and boy were things slow.  We had to deal with rain in the morning and national football in the afternoon.  Because we are centrally located (literally), we have Giants, Eagles, Ravens, and Steeler fans... oh, and Commodore fans, too.  This means that football lovers can pick their poison, so to speak.  No matter which team is playing, shoppers stay home, except for the Asians who are into soccer.

So, I've begun playing Kingdom Come, Deliverance II and so far there's far more dialog than sword play.  Last night I did have to cook up a chamomile decoction to save Henry Capon, back in the 15th century many people attempted to ply alchemy.  This means I now have a recipe book to carry around.

This pic has garnered so much negative press, the words "negative press" might be an understatement.  It was posted by Dan Scavino Jr., a man who went from being a golf club manager to being Orangie's White House Personnel Manager because.... golf?  Perhaps?

These people are going to be brutalized when the real world tears their delusional world asunder.  I don't think many will survive.

I saw on "Joe, My God," that the Orange Anus attempted to sell American weapons systems to Communist China.  He's still desperately trying to perfect the art of the deal.

And I got a decent chuckle this morning from Steve Beschloss, a conservative writer who is profoundly against this administration.  He's reporting that those Republican Senators and Congressmen who've gone home to work on their re-election campaigns, are horrified to learn that 71% of American utterly despise the Orange Anus.  I've" already mentioned "delusional world," so if you listen closely, you can hear those seams beginning to rip apart.  These people simply refuse to understand that they have become the ultimate minority group.  As Beschloss said, "the rats are learning too late that they should have jumped ship long time ago."

Who's Next

Our outside temp is in the high 50s (F) and we have high wind gusts.  We are being hit by the outer bands of the Nor'easter.  Looking at the weather maps, the storm appears to have come ashore in New Jersey with the heaviest rains drenching Philadelphia... meaning this is a big storm.  Our high today will hit the low 60s (F).  Inside, the temp seems to have settled at 68 (F).  Believe me, that's a nice temp for transitioning to cooled Autumn temps.

This will be a short one because I slept in until 7.  Usually I'm up at least an hour earlier, however this happens when you're dealing with cooler temps and warming blankets.

I got 2 more measures yesterday, which means I'm leading the department.  That's not bad for a part-timer.

And there was food!  As I said before, we're having our Success Sharing bonus and to celebrate we're having Fiesta Days, with tacos and tortillas.  And there's no supervision meaning us grazers can... well, graze to our heart's content.

I saw this picture and thought, hhhhmmm, I wonder who's next.

Evidently Iran has said that a peace deal is on the table, the same deal that's been on the table since June.  The Orange Anus said, "no deal."  He's also said that the bombing campaign will begin again after the midterms.  Speculation is that he's actually threatening the United States.  What he's really saying is "vote Republican or I'm going to devastate your lives with high gas prices, high food prices, higher prices all around."  This is not the "art of the deal," but then he never was the wheeler dealer he claimed to be.  That's why he has all of his bankruptcies.  He's dumb.  He has no idea how bad the retribution is that's coming his way.  Some Republicans are figuring that out, like Byron  Daniels.  This is a good thing.  Enjoy their fear.

Republican Mistakes

Here comes the Nor'easter... sort of, well, right now we have a lot wind.  The rain is predicted to start off as showers this afternoon.  Looking at a map, I can see that the rain bands are moving past Philadelphia and moving in our direction.  We're supposed to get heavier rain late this afternoon and over night.  The skies are not expected to begin clearing until Monday.  Since I work the next 3 days, that's fine with me.

I had lunch yesterday with one of my editors, he has the first 10 chapters of The Body in the Words.  I told him to be as critical as possible; you need to be able to take the bad news with the good.  He said, "you're meandering a bit."  And I said, "a lot of none essential horseshit?"  His response:  "you could say that,"  Long story to short:  Much of those first 10 chapters is on the chopping block.  Not surprisingly, I was hoping he'd say something like that because I was meandering.  There was a time when I thought every word I wrote was sacred.  Not anymore.  Most readers don't want to sit back and say to themselves, "that's profoundly holy."  Nope.  They want the story to move.  Progression is better than deviation.

The same thing holds true for this administration.  There is nothing more devious than a Republican, and that includes all manner of conservatives, a group of soulless humans who care about nothing but themselves.  I think they pride themselves on the fact that their hearts are empty.  You can't hurt their feelings, but you can piss them off.  Believe me, there are times when pissing them off is much more rewarding than simply hurting their feelings.  When they're pissed off they make mistakes, and Lord have they been making mistakes.

Anyway, I posted this picture on Facebook noting  how those suffering from dementia frequently suffer from uncontrollable outbursts, in fact, that a primary symptom of being dementiated.

And someone named Dave, who's Facebook account does not have a profile picture, left a negative comment.  Posting a negative comment while trying to stay in the dark is a terrible mistake.  Anonymity has no validity.  How can Dave ever be taken seriously when he chooses to remain in the shadows?

One of the super big mistakes Republicans are making is not holding Townhalls.  When Republicans do hold Townhalls, they seem to always end up leaving early; they don't like dealing with confrontation.  They hate having their constituents accuse them of wrongdoing.  This has been another big mistake by Republicans, the belief that once they're elected they no longer need to listen to those who voted them into office.  They mistakenly believe that once elected they can say, "shut up! we're in charge!"  You would think that after so many years they would have learned from their mistakes.  They haven't.  They will never learn.

A Matter of Time

Our outside temp here in Central PA was a cool 48 (F) this morning when I climbed out of bed.  My downstairs thermostat registered the inside temp as 66 (F).  We have definitely returned to sweat shirt/pants weather.  This afternoon our high is supposed to be in the low to mid 70s (F), again, not bad.  Tomorrow, however, a pesky Nor'easter is supposed to bring us more rain... like we need it.

Yesterday much was accomplished besides a baking of the bread.  The front lawn was mowed, too.  The upstairs (1st floor for you Europeans) was winterized.

And I downloaded a new video game.  This means I just finished Star Wars, Zero Company.  I'd like to say that this was a super game... but to be honest, it was just okay.  My biggest problem was that it wasn't long enough.  Quests were on some odd timetable, you only had 3 or less cycles to play them before they disappeared.  Once they were gone, they were completely gone, the only way you could play through them was by going back to an earlier saved game.  The new game is Kingdom Come, Deliverance II and takes place in Bohemia in the 1600th century.  There is lots of melee.  You can find a lot of joy in clubbing the hell out of a Westphalian.

I also learned yesterday that I can subscribe to Netflix through my T-Mobile and save myself  $9 a month.  I will be doing that later this morning.  I can also do the same thing for Apple TV and save myself $11, but since I've already paid for a year, I have to see how that works.

And Orangie met with Xi yesterday and, once again, revealed his soul to the world.

The important thing about this picture is not the rage on Orangie's face or the fact that Melanoma looks just as furious, rather it's the look on Xi's face as he observes their souls at close range.  You can bet the bank Xi's going to avoid the terribly thin ice that Orangie and Melanoma are skating on.  He knows that it's just a matter of time.

I've signed up get updates from The Washington Sun, which is made up of many of the reporters who used to work for The Washington Post until they were let go.  Their criticisms of Orangie and his administration ar pretty much on point.  I like to think of them as the attack wing of Meidas Touch.  They pointed out this morning how the only thing which might save Republicans in the House would be to come back to Washington and try to pass some sort of affordability legislation.  The point was made that this will never happen because Republican Congressmen are too busy back in their own districts fighting for their very lives.  This is the Orangie effect.  What's amazing is that they idolized Orangie so much they failed to understand how much hatred he was generating throughout the entire United States.  Now, they too, realize it's just a matter of time.

The Helipad, And How Not To Use It

We had 48 (F) this morning when I woke up.  That's a chilly start to the day.  We are supposed to have full sunshine today with an afternoon high in the upper 60s (F).  Tomorrow's high is predicted to be in the mid 70s (F).  That'll be nice.  We are approaching the waiting time of Autumn, when we wait to see how long it will be until we turn on our heat.  I realized last night that I need to throw another blanket on the bed.

Yesterday was a combo of busy and lazy.  I slept in, so everything got off to a late start.  Then I went out to lunch with my friends Tami and Ann.  I had fried chicken tenders and waffle fries, very tasty.  Of course, after that, I was lazy, you know how it is sometimes after a meal.  And I was rather pleased with myself for not getting desert.

Then last evening I downloaded a book on Pilates for men and was surprised to see some of the mobility exercises I'd been doing with Trainwell were listed.  Mobility is important as we get older.  Nothing stays the same.  Too many people fail to understand that adapting doesn't stop when you hit a certain age.

I'd said I'd be either baking bread or making pasta today, well, the bread won out, so John, I'll be dropping the blow by blow pics of pasta making in the future.

And that nasty, drag-along cold I had is gone.

For those who haven't seen this yet, here's a picture of Orangie raging at his helicopter pilot courtesy of a Reuters photographer.

Why is he screaming?  You see this old fool doesn't like walking on grass, so he had a tax payer funded helipad built near the White House.  However, because he's an idiot, he said, "put it there," and pointed to a spot.  The new  tax payer funded pad was constructed... close to the White House.  In fact, the pad is too close.  There are safety issues with landing there, so pilots are touching down on the grass, meaning that Orangie still has to walk on the grass.  Remember, everything he touches dies.

And while I'm happy that the press are again going to be covering him, I'm also cringing.  You seek the press are going to be bringing their microphones with them, which means we're going to be hearing his voice ad nauseum.  Shit.

The Good Thing

The temp in the house dropped down to 70 (F) overnight.  Last night was great sleeping weather, as they say. Temps are going to be warming up, at least that's what the forecasters are saying. Yesterday's high was around 61 (F), today we're supposed to top off at around 67 (F).  That's fine.  Forecasted highs for the next 2 weeks are supposed to be in the mid 70s (F), so the time has come to take out the small window A/C units I have in the bedroom and workout out room.

My cancelation of Trainwell was official yesterday.  They officially thanked me, agreed with me that my trainer was outstanding, but said nothing regarding my suggestion that they initiate senior citizen rates.  If anyone is interested in an online trainer, I recommend them, at least for a few months.  I used them for a total of 9 months, and while they'd basically like you to from a lifetime commitment, that didn't happen.

I had lunch at Pinera yesterday and I have to say I was disappointed.  Seventeen years ago, when I was at the Carlisle store, I used to have lunch there at least once, sometimes twice a week.  Back then you could choose the type of bread you wanted, sourdough, wheat, or rye, and it was thick.  Now the menu is pretty much set and the bread is thin.  I ordered a chicken, cranberry salad on wheat and the bread began falling apart in instant I picked up the sandwich.

I used my grain grinder this morning.  Four cups of barley grain yields almost 7 cups of flour.  Tomorrow I'm going to either bake bread or make homemade pasta.

I don't have the inclination to check out such things, but others do, so after a quick glance at Threads I can report that as of an hour ago 467 fools were watching Orangie TV.

Yesterday's lunch was with my cousin and her husband, both big supporters of the ass in the White House... well, not anymore.  I'm not one to rub people's noses in their own mistakes, so mostly I remained silent, except for one statement.  Being life long Republicans, I know their shining hero has always been Reagan, so I said, "I remember when Reagan called us a shining city on a hill... that is no longer the case."  Sometimes it's the simple reminders that hurt the most.

And Orangie spoke at the United Nations yesterday.  His speech was peppered with stupidities and salted with inanities.  There were several pregnant pauses during which he anticipated applause.  Since a vast majority of the representatives had found something more interesting to look at on their phones, he received none.  This was a good thing.

Silence Is Golden

Here in Central PA we have an outside temp of 57(F), and folks, it ain't going to get much warmer today.  Our temps might eek their way into the very low 60s (F) some time this afternoon.  We also have what we call a soaking rain that began after midnight.  The rain will end later this afternoon.  Today is going to be damp and dismal, and would be good sleeping-in weather, except I have things to do.

I worked yesterday.  Management should be happy that I got 3 measures.  I also had the assistant manager who was supposed to key in my sick day, as well as my sick pay, to do just that.  As he was keying them into the system, he said, "I already did this."  The fact that nothing had been keyed proved that he hadn't.  I didn't point out the obvious.

Another work story from yesterday:  Walking down the back aisle, I ran into the store manager who had just come out of the lady's restroom.  She was holding her hands up in the air and said, "I really hate the fact that we don't have paper towels in the restrooms."  I agreed, and had a bit of a brain fart while telling her I always wen to the.... (damn, I couldn't remember lunchroom) to dry my hands.  The focus of this little story is not that I had a brain fart (we get them more often as we get older), but on the fact that someone in corporate decided that paper towel dispensers were going to be removed from restrooms.  We have hand dryers, so we don't need paper towels.  I do not doubt that this decision was based on the fact that paper towels are a waste of money and getting rid of them would help to improve the bottom line.

My grain grinder arrived yesterday.  I'll be making my first grind this afternoon.

Something happened yesterday that was nice, something that hasn't happened in a long time.  The Orange Anus did not have a press conference.  Well, that's a bit of a false statement.  He did hold a bit of a press conference, however, because the media outlets are boycotting him because of his ban of CNN, the conference was only televised on YouTube... without any microphones.  So, while his jaw flapped, the only thing viewers heard was a  low, burble, burble, burble.  And I realized that the words "silence is golden," are almost Holy.

The lack of press coverage made Orangie angry.  His approval rating has dropped to 29% and that also made Orangie angry.  The White House also launched Orangie TV on YouTube, a 24/7 channel for those who can never get enough Orangie.  As of this morning, Orangie TV had a little over 5000 hits.  I'm sure Natalie Harp is going to lie to him about that number while changing his diaper.

Warriors (Not)

And the cool days of Autumn begin.  Our daily highs will only break into the 70s (F) on Friday, if we're lucky.  Skies are going to be overcast, with drizzles expected this afternoon.  In a 2 week time period we've gone from temps in the mid 80s (F) to temps in the mid to upper 60s (F).  Very shortly the leaves are going to start changing into their fall colors.  We've had a lot of rain this summer so they might be rather brilliant this year.

And not only did I work yesterday, I made my sales goal for the week!  I didn't get any measures last week or any leads, but the money I put into the store's bank account will make someone happy.

There was a bit of a downside though.  Because of my cold, I called off on Thursday.  I actually had a voice conversation with the Operations Assistant Manager.  He put nothing into the system, however, and this morning when I checked last week's hours I was listed as having a "no call, no show."  I also put in the paperwork to be paid for those 6 hours, talking to the same assistant manager, who told me to put the paperwork next to his computer.  Surprise!  The paperwork wasn't processed either.  This means this afternoon I'm going to have to have a talk with management.

As for the cold?  Except for the occasional cough and sniffle, I'm back to normal.

This past week was another bad week for our Department of Defense because of the unprofessional, incompetent leadership of Kegs Breath Hegseth.  America should be truly frightened by the way this low level moron's brain if functioning.  This idiot had Logan and Jake Paul speak at a meeting in the Pentagon on how to be warriors.  He is the joke of the world.

He believes that these two men, who have never been in the military, who have emotional problems, whose activities are known to be ethically and controversially questionable, are authorities on warriorism.  I do not doubt that when he hit 14 years of age his brain stopped maturing.   This would explain his alcoholism and his being partial to spousal abuse.

The Orange Anus is in New York City today.  He's supposed to  meet with the Mayor, and also speak at the United Nations.  Prepare for him to go off topic.  It's my understanding that he's quite... angry.  I've heard that those surrounding him have begun to tell him that his ego is wrong, and that a vast majority of are former allies despise him... probably not in those words.  This means his lies will be unleashed this afternoon.  His ego will bluster his words with hatred.

Bots loving Bots

Today... we will have rain.  Lots of rain, will fall.  The drizzling began shortly after midnight.  Right now we have steady rain.  This will continue for most of the day.  Our high temp is predicted to be in the low 70s (F).  By Wednesday, our high temp should be in the low 60s (F).  I don't mind those temps when we have sunny days, but that isn't going to happen.  In fact, we might have to wait until Friday for our first hit of sunshine.

I did work yesterday.  Customers in the flooring department were sparse. Business was slow.  With today's rain, I doubt if things will be better.  This means they're going to be paying me to sit there for 7+ hours.  I will just have to figure out ways to keep myself busy.

Big changes happened in our backsplash tile aisle (say that real fast five times).  Twenty styles are now available online only.  This is not a good thing.  We always recommend that when considering tile for a new backsplash, that you buy at least one and see what it looks like in your kitchen's lighting, under your cabinets.  Styles purchased online can not be purchased individually, but need to be bought by the case.  Most people don't want to plunk down $180 for a case of tiles they may have to return to the store because they hate them.  Also, online sales slow down the process of a kitchen renovation.

So, I used to do Twitter when it was Twitter, canceled out when it became Zitter.  Now I do Threads, which is usually fine.  Over the past few days, however, I've notice that the platform has developed a propensity for pushing pro Trump bots.  Over the past 2 days I've seen at least 4 postings by Bots claiming that their rights have improved under the Orange Anus.

How do I know they're Bots?  I click on their name.  If you do this, you'll find out that Charlene For Jesus has 17 followers.  That's a red flag.  The odds of Charlene being a Bot are infinitesimally high.  I also look at the number of "likes" each post gets.  Bots seem to like round numbers: 1200 and 1400 seem to be very popular numbers.  When checking on the comments I usually discover that none of the commentators approve of Charlene's message, meaning they are humans responding to a Bot.  I suspect that this is because, while Bots may love Bots, they are too overwhelmed by their love to put their emotions into words.  Of course, these Bots are pure propaganda.  They are not intended to convert you into a cultist.  They are meant to instill conviction into those already cultivated.  When one of these Bots makes it into my stream, I block them rather than commenting.  Blocking breaks the algorithm.

Digging Holes

So, we'll be seeing the sun for a bit today, but then for the next week that golden globe will vanish, hiding behind a cloud.  Forecasters are saying that there are also going to be torrential rains hiding in that same cover.  Temps will barely make it into the 70s (F).  This means that Autumn has arrived.

Yesterday was another feeling under the weather cold day.  I was taking Sudafed until I got to wondering just how long the med stayed in my system.  Well, Sudafed cause the tiny blood vessels in your nose to tighten, which why your drainage stops.  Unfortunately, it causes other blood vessels around your body to tighten, too, and is not recommended for people with hypertension (high blood pressure.)  Just as I'm  borderline glaucomic, and borderline diabetic, I'm also borderline hypertensive, so I stopped taking the Sudafed.   Lucky for me I've had this silly rhinitis for a week, they symptoms have pretty much run their course.  All I have right now is the occasional dry cough, which is good since I work this afternoon.

So most of yesterday I was napping on and off throughout the day.  Though I've been getting a lot of sleep, I don't feeling rested, so when I finish this, I'm going to go upstairs and take another nape before I go to work.

Here's another thing that Petey Hegseth needs to work on in the Accountability chapter in his skill book.

Believe me, nothing should surprise you/us by now.  Two meritorious bronze stars does not mean competence.  Petey's also shrieking that reports of a higher number of casualties for Orangie's war with Iran are much higher than either he or Orangie will admit.  He's shrieking "fake new, fake news."  Tell, me where have we heard those words before?  Except for the cultists, by now most Americans know that when they hear those words, they're lies.

And more Main Stream Media members have been banned from the Oval Office because they're nothing but "fake news."  Banning them is not going to stop questions from being asked.  In fact, banning them will make people believe things are even worse than they already are.  These people don't understand that they're digging a hole for themselves, and the deeper they dig, the deeper they're going to be buried.

The Cold, the Chili, and the Midterms.

The temp on my inside thermostat is 76 (F), outside the temp is 71 (F), go figure.  One forecast for this afternoon has our temp in the low 80s (F), while another has our high in mid 70s (F).  That's another go figure.  Next Wednesday, if the forecasters happen to be correct, our afternoon high will be 58 (F).  That'll be a chilly day.

And I did take off yesterday because of "the cold."  The plan was to sleep away the afternoon.  Well, that sort of happened.  I have a dog who thinks that whenever I'm home, it's play time.  You have no idea how many times we played fetch with his pink pig.  I am surprised that my sides are sore from coughing, or maybe they're sore from sneezing.  Anyway, the Sudafed is good at keeping my passage clear and the coughing/sneezing to a minimum.  After I finish this, I'm going to take one and then take a nap.

I'm scheduled to have lunch today with one of my editors.  Wish me luck.

My neighbors were arguing loudly about their car this morning.  They had 2, but 1 went into the shop about a month ago, so for her to have a car she needs to drive him almost an hour to work, and then pick him up when his shift is done.   Neither is happy about this.  Making the situation worse, occasionally someone will park a small, Chevy in front of their house.  She hates  this.  I don't think she understands that she doesn't own the street.  Several times she's parked so close to the Chevy it looked like their bumpers were touching, she's going to be a bitch about this.

And I made chili with vegetables from my garden!   Tasty!!

I understand Orangie's mad at the South Koreans because they're refusing to send troop to help us in Middle East.  This happens when you shit on allies.  Honestly, we always knew he wasn't the brightest bulb in the box, but saying he is dim doesn't quite drive home the point.  He is politically inept.

So, a judge said the administration needs to provide him with a notice in writing at least 30 days before Orangie starts demolishing the Kennedy Center.  The problem with that is our loser in Chief is just going to ignore that, because that's what he always does.

Finally, I have to chuckle every time I hear Mikey Johnson, or someone else of his ilk, saying that if the Democrats get in power Impeachment will be the word of the day for the next 2 years.  He simply doesn't understand that at this point in time, 3/4 of the American people want more than impeachments.
