A Convicted Rapist

Our outside temp is 71 (F).  We're going to get a 20 + degrees warmer today, but I am pleased to announced that this mini-heat wave that's descending upon Central PA is not going to be as hot as originally predicted.  Rather than have highs of 106 (F), we're only going to heat up to 101 (F).  Now, isn't that cool?  I can did that.

I got a nice workout in yesterday morning.  Today I have a bike ride.  I also don't work today.  I did yesterday.  They seem to have, at least temporarily fixed our sewage issue.  The question is how long will it last. I was told that the plumbers ran water down the line for a long time.  There's a difference between water and waste products.

Work was actually busy.  We dealt with a number of customers, some had made set up their installs online, and one who had set up her up with one of our flooring specialists. That last one?  That one required me to have a conversation with the specialist.  He just turned 65 and, even though he claims he's going to work fulltime for another 2 years, he has, for all intents and purposes retired.  He's decided he's not going to include a product when setting up the measure.  As a result, no quote gets built.  We don't build quotes at the store level, so I needed to contact our measurements services and provide them with a carpet.  She was not happy that there was going to be a 3 hour wait to get a quote.  After she'd left, I told him that he needed to key in a product, it doesn't need to be the one the customer is going to purchase.  He admitted that he should have put in a product, however, I know that in his mind he is already retired and he's going to do less and less.

We had a nice sunrise this morning.

So our not so supreme Supreme Court handed down several decisions yesterday.  With one, they gave the Orange Anus more power, edging him closer to being a dictator.  There were 2 other decisions that countered that evil step.  One was that states can still count mail-in ballots that are postmarked on election day if they're received after the election.  And they refused to hear his case against E. Jean Carroll meaning he's still a convicted rapist.

And it shouldn't come as a surprise that Orangie wants to hang a Nazi symbol at the White House.

Direct Connection

Outside temps are again in the low 50s (F) and today is predicted to be a replay of yesterday.  The same thing is in store for tomorrow.  Wednesday, however, weather forecasters are calling for rain and a temporary drop in temps.  The cool weather should only last a day or so before daily highs are again predicted to be in the mid to upper 70s (F).  These are rather warm temps for October.  While I'm pleased that I don't have to turn on the heat, I will admit that I'm missing a stronger changing of the seasons.  This doesn't meant that our winter is also going to be warm, except for last year, this is the same weather pattern we'd been experiencing for the past several years.

I did work yesterday.  It was a slow day.  I got my steps in early, and then kept walking.  I'm fairly certain that we didn't make plan last week.  This is how it goes.  This doesn't mean that store associates weren't busy.  A change is coming.  The large area to the left of the front entrance was being cleared out because sometime this week, Christmas is arriving.  Yes, you did read that correctly.  We're getting Christmas in October.  This means that Black Friday is just around the corner.  

And my schedule has been changed for the next 3 weeks.  Normally I work on Mondays, that's not the case today.  I'm off.  However this week I work Thursday.  Then for the next 2 weeks I'm back to my 22 hour a week schedule.  I'm fairly certain that this will revert to the 17 hours I've gotten used to.  Sales simply are there.

I've been buying tile mosaics and bringing them home to see which one my work well with the mirror in the bathroom.  So far, I've returned everyone of them.  I want a glass tile, and we just don't carry them in the store.  Last night, I looked online and found one I like.  I shall order a sample to see what it looks like.

Over course Stevie Miller, aka Voldemort, is flipping out.  Some people call him Nazi Boy.  It doesn't make a difference what you call him, this man embodies pure hatred.

There is no "growing movement of leftwing terrorism," there is the Democratic Party, and a large number of Independent voters.  One of the key tenets of Fascism is to demonize your political opponents, so Democrats and Independents are now leftwing terrorists.  Stevie is doing his damndest to portray everyone who doesn't bow down to his neo-Nazi philosophy is hated.  However, Stevie is failing terribly at growing his cult.  On October 4, he Tweeted a hate message about left wing judges, and how Orangie's cultists need to treat and fight them.  Yesterday, a fire broke out at the home owned by Judge Diane Goldstein in South Carolina.  This judge ruled that the Department of Justice cannot access voting information from the state, a decision that pissed off Orangie's Administration.  They desperately want Democratic voting records.  The fire is under investigation.  Is Stevie and his hate Tweet to blame?  Many believe there is a direct connection between the two.

Seig Heil

 It's cold outside.  4 (F).  Our precipitation forecast is looking dry for about a week, until temps begin to rise.  Until then we will be getting no snow or ice.  I feel bad for those people down south who may experience this type of weather maybe once  in a lifetime.  My warning to them:  unless it is essential for you to go out, stay home, your roads are going to be treacherous.

I worked yesterday.  It was slow... except for one half-hour period.  I signed someone up for a credit card, and sold some vinyl plank flooring.  The sale was over $7000, so I'm set for the week in sales.  That's a lot of money to spend on flooring, but that did include a $452 bulk purchase discount.  Also, prices are going to be going up.  Anyone who doesn't think so might one to check themselves into a dementia clinic.

Here, in frigid PA, I am letting Howie out, but only in the hopes that he does some of his business outside.  Unfortunately, he wants to spend most of his time looking for small sticks and leaves that haven't been buried by  the snow.  I have no problem cleaning up a little puddle on the vinyl floor of the bathroom if he has an accident.  Gertie used to use that same vinyl floor if she couldn't make it outside, so I suppose you could say that's traditional.

As expected, I didn't watch the inauguration, though I did wear black to work to participate in the National Day of Mourning.  Well, kind of black.  My shirt was old and gray with some black striping, and threadbare cuffs.  I did see a number of customers wearing black, though I didn't know if they were participating, or simply thought they were being stylish.  

And, of course, the Orange Anus (and his boss Elonia) were foremost in everybody's mind, and not for good reasons.  There was this:

Can we talk about an eye-opener?  For comparative measures, I chose the split screen picture.  Elonia did this twice in order for people to be perfectly clear on just what he was doing.  The only thing he didn't do was shout out Seig Heil! I don't doubt that a lot of Americans saw this and had an "Oh, Shit!" moment.  I wonder what they're going to think when the fact hits home that Elonia is going to have an office very close to the Oval Office.  I keep seeing people saying this is going to be a very rough 4 years.  As I've said before, I give it 2.  In spite of the Orange Anus signing an Executive Order charging members of his team to work on lowering prices, they are not going to go down.  There's an old saying that "you can't get blood from a stone," well, the billionaires running the country are going to try damn hard to make that happen.

Labor (Labour) Day

 Well, I've got a paid holiday today: Labor Day, and I will be laboring, with food, of course.  I might possibly go grazing before I leave work this afternoon, and yes, I'll be leaving the store around 3:30 ish.  They temps are suppose climb into the high 90s (F) this afternoon, tomorrow, Wednesday, but they they drop back to what we've been experiencing for most of the summer.

The store was busier yesterday than I had been expecting, at least early in the day, by the time dinner rolled around it was clearing out.  As expected, almost everyone walking in the door was expecting to find every thing with a reduced sale price, that never happens.  There is a "buy more, save more" sale going on in appliances, and it's an okay say if you feel the need to buy more than one appliance.  My refrigerator is fine, so's my stove, so taking that much debt to replace them would be dumb at this time.

 

Nazis paraded in Florida and fuckhead Ronnie DeSantis said nothing.  Ronnie is so unbelievably out of touch with America.  I cannot believe someone who graduated from Yale is this damn stupid.

Washed Out to Sea

 I had baked a pecan pie on my birthday.  Since it's recommended I cut back on high carb / high calorie foods and I didn't want to throw it away, I ate it yesterday.  The entire thing.  I mean, I wasn't about to throw it out.  Why would I waste food?

My brother's taking me out for breakfast this morning to celebrate my birthday.  I will probably eat toast, and several other things.

I am going to stop baking bread for a while.  I bake it frequently, and just as frequently, I eat it.  So many carbs.  I am a carboholic.  Always have been.  Candy, too.  

Today is also a work day.  I really am tempted to call in and take a personal day.  Probably won't.  Either way I'd get paid 8 hours. 

The woman fixing the drywall on the ceiling just realized she had scheduled the repairs over Thanksgiving, a natural mistake since I didn't really know when the holiday was.  She sent me an email asking to start a day earlier.  I just sent her an email asking if she could start after Thanksgiving since the Electrician is scheduled to be here on 11/22.  I'm waiting for a response.

And wasn't yesterday fun?  Holy Crap.  Benny Shapiro flipped out on Twitter, blaming the Orange Anus for everything.  The OA, himself, flipped out because it's never his fault.  His entire life has been spent shifting the blame to someone else.  In this case, the blame needs to be spread over the entire Republican hierarchy.  They've been setting themselves up for this ever since they managed to stack the Supreme Court.  Calling your political opponents every name in the book is a fail; the MAGA brain is incapable of understand just how bad the Nazis truly were.  Overturning Roe v Wade hurt the GOP badly.  Their intent to tell women to "shut, we're in charge, and we're going to tell you what you're going to do," simply failed.  America is Centrist, not Conservative, so trying to force Conservative values on the entire country will never work... unless you live in Florida.  Of course, thanks to climate change, Florida will soon be washed out to sea.  Will Republicans learn anything from this?  Probably not, rocks don't think.

The Texas Taliban

 So another none Friday has arrived.  I'm off today and, as usual, working the weekend.  My next day off isn't until Tuesday, after that it's Thursday.  I mentioned to the scheduler that I want Consecutive days off.  Working every other day is too much like working full time.  She has yet to actually make me part-time in the system.  Once she does that I can set up my own availability.  I don't what is taking her so long.  That should have been one of the first things she did last Monday morning, prior to writing schedules for the week.

Sheetz Roofing is going to get a call this morning with the go-ahead to shingle my roofs.  Working at the largest home improvement retailer in the world does give me access to 'professional' opinions, and across the board, every body I talked to said I was getting a deal.  I pretty much knew that, but it never hurts to check.

I ordered new running / walking shoes and they arrived yesterday.  Asics.  Very decent quality.  I've been wearing the last pair I bought to work, and to mow the lawn, and... well all over the place and they now look very well worn.  The new ones are definitely not meant to be worn anywhere other than on a treadmill.

And what about that Cracker Jack Crazy state of Texas, home of the Texas Taliban?  Well, they're not really Muslim so we can't say they are completely Taliban, they're Crazy Christians with a 2 term Governor who believes the only way to stay in power is to out crazy the craziest.  Only 40% of the population is white, yet white Cracker Jack Crazy Republicans have redrawn the maps to attempt to gerrymander themselves into power for another 10 years.  The state removed an LGBTQ page meant to help and provide answers to youth because an anti-LGBTQ loon started shrieking his loon tunes about its evil.  The Southlake School District, a site for home grown Texan white supremacy, has stated that there needs to be a balance to books talking about the holocaust...  that's right school library's need to offer opposing views regarding that Nazi horror.  I do not doubt for a second that the state will become a magnet for hate groups, since that appears to be the only way they can grow their MAGA base.

Blooming

Today's another day off for me.  Nice.  Kind of.  The weather's supposed to be overcast with storms predicted to hit us sporadically.  It's a good thing I didn't plan on mowing the lawn.  Truthfully, it doesn't really need it.  What we've been getting in rain have been quick downpours that last for 10 or 15 minutes and then they're gone, the hot air pumping the moisture back into the atmosphere.

Elsa's coming our way.  She seems to be moving up the eastern seaboard rather fast, so she should be raining on us either tonight or tomorrow.

And, of course, last evening, just as I was preparing to leave one of our regular customers showed up at the flooring desk.  Vinyl.  That's right, he wanted vinyl - the really cheap stuff, the vinyl that's  so close to paper thin you need to be careful you don't tear it.  And he wanted 16.5 feet of the stuff.  As I went back to the vinyl cutter, I silently prayed to the god of 'out of stocks' for us to be... well, out of stock.  My prayer was answered!  We did have a roll in the back, so I left a note for our Aisle Supervisor to bring it front.

Evidently, Loser #45 is going to charge the the US Government for the hotel rooms his Secret Service agents will need to stay in for eternity.  This is because the loser doesn't really have a residence, per se, but rather always stays in one of his financially failing properties.  Let's face it, he's got scrap up the bucks somehow.

There was also an interesting article on the NBC news website about Marjorie Taylor Stupid's constantly comparing the Democrats to Nazis.  To sum up everything they say, she appeals to small, stupid minds who have absolutely no idea who the Nazis were and by making the comparison she's trying to make her own fascist beliefs seem acceptable.  The voters of Georgia need to fire that bitch.

A bit about Stew and a bit about Nazis

 We are now 3 weeks away from spring.  Ain't it great?  I have begun ordering decorations for the seasonal tree and they should start arriving any day now.

I made beef stew in the Instant Pot yesterday, took 35 minutes.  Tasty, but not great.  The recipe called for a can of tomato sauce, which gives it too much of a tomatoy undertone.  I want my beef stew to be hearty, with a full beefy flavor, not like I poured in a can of spaghetti sauce by mistake.  Otherwise, the recipe is sound, I'll just have to find an alternative sauce... or gravy.  Oh, and add more potatoes.  

Speaking of beef, Lily is running around the house with the tip of a Puperoni sticking out the front of her mouth like a meaty little cigar.  I warned her, she better eat that thing or Biggy will.

The hate festival that is known as CPAC is now over.  I don't know for certain, but I do believe only white Evangelicals attended, many of whom, though not all, swore their allegiance to Failure.  In a straw poll, their Loser president only received 55% of the vote supporting him for a 2nd presidential run in 2024.  Ouch.  

And, of course, there was a bit of an issue with their stage.  Someone though it a great idea to design it in the shape of a rune used by the Nazis.  Hyatt Hotels is pissed, putting a press release slamming hatred.  Let's see... I guess that means this year's CPAC celebrated a golden statue, a Nazi symbol, and a tin foil dictator wannabe... Okay, so today is finally my Friday, unfortunately my weekend only lasts for one day.  Then it's back to work for another 4 days.  Not that much is probably going to be accomplished.  Our most $$$ productive aisle is going to be shut down in order to do a reset: new racking, new displays, new products... and it just happens to be our vinyl flooring / laminate / hardwood aisle.  Oh, dear is me, I should have taken some vacation time.... No.  Because of the slowness of the season I'm only being scheduled 32 hours per week.  That's fine with me.

Anyway, I read where Crazy Al Dershowitz spit out some inanity about the Idiot Jerk in the  White House... about even if he's found guilty he should remain in office for the rest of his term.  Also, depending upon who you're reading, this ding dong dandy is either intimately involved with the defense team... or he's only an adviser circling in some far flung orbit.  Personally, I think Al's main goal is to send up Flak.  For those who don't know, the Nazi's started using Flak in WW2 and is the detonation of hundreds of smaller explosives around bombers and other enemy aircraft, the main purpose being to make them crash.  This sounds about right for the Idiot Jerk's defense team.  There's no way they can win on truth.  In case you don't know what Flak looks like, here's a pic.
