Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

The Helipad, And How Not To Use It

We had 48 (F) this morning when I woke up.  That's a chilly start to the day.  We are supposed to have full sunshine today with an afternoon high in the upper 60s (F).  Tomorrow's high is predicted to be in the mid 70s (F).  That'll be nice.  We are approaching the waiting time of Autumn, when we wait to see how long it will be until we turn on our heat.  I realized last night that I need to throw another blanket on the bed.

Yesterday was a combo of busy and lazy.  I slept in, so everything got off to a late start.  Then I went out to lunch with my friends Tami and Ann.  I had fried chicken tenders and waffle fries, very tasty.  Of course, after that, I was lazy, you know how it is sometimes after a meal.  And I was rather pleased with myself for not getting desert.

Then last evening I downloaded a book on Pilates for men and was surprised to see some of the mobility exercises I'd been doing with Trainwell were listed.  Mobility is important as we get older.  Nothing stays the same.  Too many people fail to understand that adapting doesn't stop when you hit a certain age.

I'd said I'd be either baking bread or making pasta today, well, the bread won out, so John, I'll be dropping the blow by blow pics of pasta making in the future.

And that nasty, drag-along cold I had is gone.

For those who haven't seen this yet, here's a picture of Orangie raging at his helicopter pilot courtesy of a Reuters photographer.

Why is he screaming?  You see this old fool doesn't like walking on grass, so he had a tax payer funded helipad built near the White House.  However, because he's an idiot, he said, "put it there," and pointed to a spot.  The new  tax payer funded pad was constructed... close to the White House.  In fact, the pad is too close.  There are safety issues with landing there, so pilots are touching down on the grass, meaning that Orangie still has to walk on the grass.  Remember, everything he touches dies.

And while I'm happy that the press are again going to be covering him, I'm also cringing.  You seek the press are going to be bringing their microphones with them, which means we're going to be hearing his voice ad nauseum.  Shit.

  1. I guess I'll have to keep muting my TV or just change the channel when the rapist speaks.

    1. Mostly, I mute, and even that's too good for him.

  2. And not just a plain old concrete helipad, but granite! Even more of a waste of our money!

    1. Maybe they can repurpose it when it gets torn up.

  3. By time that lazy ass is done...we won't even recognize the White House. And what a laughing stock at the United Nations. Must be terrible to be the unpopular kid in school.

    1. And his unpopularity is growing by leaps and bounds.

  4. We had a rather cold night too. My bed was still cold with blanket and duvet so I had to turn on the electric mattress cover too. House was 67 degrees. We have another sunny beautiful day. I am now making a dump slow cooker beef stew for the first time. I have never made bread, I don’t think bread machine bread counts. I gave away the machine after the girls left home. I get all my exercise humping groceries and going up and down stairs as my toilets are either up or down one floor from where I spend most of my time. I have some 5 pound weights so maybe I should start using them. lol. The orange one is such a baby, he can’t walk on grass because he might trip on it. Gigi

    1. Mine was 67 (F) inside when I woke up this morning, too, so another blanket was added to the bed. Yeah, use the weights. It doesn't need to be every time you go up or down the stairs. That little occasional oomph can mean a lot.

  5. That’s a scary pic.
I think the photographer captured the moment perfectly. It’s equal parts eerie and nonsensical. Just like the presidency.
    And mobility is essential.

    XOXO

    1. Scary is an understatement. A lot of people don't think about mobility until they get too old.
