Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

In the Distant Future

The boo boo paw is gone.  Lily no longer has an ouchy.  This is normal.  From time to time, both dogs get boo boo paws that go away after a few hours.  This is life with dogs.

I had some nice sales go through yesterday.  Actually, sales in the department  flourished.  People are spending money, lots of money.  Here in Conservative Central Pa people believe the virus is going to go away.  We had a previous customer stop by the flooring desk yesterday who nobody remembered, which happens quite frequently when you deal with many customers.  He asked how long we were going to continue wearing masks?  Both I and my fellow associate said "for a long time."  And the customer asked "you don't think masks are going to go away on November 4?"  In unison, myself and my fellow associate said "no."  And the customer looked at us for a second or two and said "oh," and walked away.  Conservatives, unless someone in their immediate family get seriously sick with Covid, they do believe it's like the flu.

Did everybody enjoy the extra hour of sleep this morning?  Me, I looked at my alarm clock and thought, it must not have automatically changed.  It wasn't until I looked at the mantel clock in the cycling / computer room that I realized I had slept right through it. Son of a bitch!

And, of course, we do only have a few days until the election.  The Idiot Jerk is racing around desperately trying keep himself from being a one term president.  One of the things I find most alarming about his presidency, and his party, is their total refusal to move towards the center.  The country is overwhelmingly Centrist and yet they continue to dig themselves ever deeper into the grounds on the far right, almost as if this were their last stand.  In a way, this might be true.  The country is changing far more rapidly then they like.  With each passing day those years they cherish, the late 50's are buried under another shovel full of time.  Their age has not been successful and the world is passing them by.  This is how evolution works.  The survival is based on being the fittest, the most adaptable, not the one who steadfastly refuses to change.  They cannot freeze time and the world in order to satisfy their dying dreams.  This is life.

And, finally, guess what I found on the bed yesterday morning?  A T-Rex.

Like the Republicans, I don't think the T-Rex ever gave any consideration what time was going to do to them.  Now he's a dog toy.  Personally, I don't think we'll ever be playing with an Republican toys in the distant future.

E Ticket Ride

Saturday... Kid's Workshop... and I'm not working.  Now, isn't that a really good reason to celebrate?  The temps are forecast to go up into mid to upper 50's (F), unusually warm for January.  According to Accuweather, the warm winter temps will continue for the next 2 weeks.  While these temps will reduce my heating bill, they are a precursor, a terrible tease as to what climate change may bring to the region.  Central PA may end up turning into a tropical rain forest.
The first draft of "The Body in the Well" has been completed.  Right now it sits at 93,357 words.  Now the editing starts.  I was asked by one of my readers if he was going to find it riveting.  I told him I was aiming more for an E ticket ride at Disneyland.  Of course, I had to explain myself.
And by now, everyone knows the Idiot Jerk in the White House approved the assassination of very high ranked Iranian general.  His action teeters both the US and the mid-east into an all out war.  One of the women at work said "he did in order to get himself re-elected," the belief being we're not going to change presidents in the middle of a war.  Can you think of anything sounding more logical to a Republican?  Start a war to stay in power.  They have always been callously inconsiderate of human life that isn't white and American.  Their base revels in this, believing it demonstrates their superiority.  Every day they reveal more of their ugliness.
On a brighter note:  Here are Biggie and Lily with their T-Rex.

It doesn't squeak too much, does it?

Republican Extinction

Well, here it is, the first day of my weekend and... I was up at 0500.  One load of laundry's already in the dryer and the rest of my 'fun' day is planned out in detail.
I saw where the White Supremacist Peroxide Pin-Up Girl, Ann Coulter, tweeted some sort of hate allusion to Houston's electing a lesbian mayor and Hurricane Harvey.  I would not be surprised if she ends up bald and covered with weeping scabies when her Karma hits, that's right, she's probably going to be infested with mites.  Yo, Ann, happy scratching.
And surprise, surprise, Joel Osteen is blaming social media for all of the anger coming his way - what a gutless, spineless sack of shit he is.
Oh, and the price for filling up your gas tank is going to go up - between .15 - .25 cents a gallon because of... Harvey.
Interestingly enough, only 34 % of Americans approve of the Idiot Jerk's pardon of that old, racist Arpaio.... which is, in case you didn't already know, the total number of registered Republicans in the good, old United States.  These people will never understand that they are not Sanforized, and we, the people, need to vote and shrink them into extinction, just like the dinosaurs.  A racist voice is only good when it's silenced.
For those living outside Retail World... Halloween has arrived.  Ours showed up early yesterday morning.  Bones.  Lots of bones.  Skeletal remains.

That's right, we have an 8 foot T-Rex!  Can you picture him prowling through the shrubberies of your front yard... at night, you know, getting ready to pounce through your Arborvitae.  We have a horse, too.

And Raptor hatchlings.
