Karma is a Bitch

Well, we have another sunny day ahead of us here in Central PA.  Our high temp should be floating just around the 90 (F) mark, meaning it's going to be hot enough to make things slightly uncomfortable for some.  As long as the humidity stays low, this is not a bad temp.  The long range forecast implies humidity will not be rising.  This is a good thing.  However, the lack of rain means I'll need to be watering my garden daily.

Things I did do yesterday:  move an old wheelbarrow that I'm going to turn into a raised flower bed - things need to be above ground to keep Howie from peeing on them.  Also, the idea is to make the space around the raised bed veggies as happy a place as possible for the bees and other buzzy things needed to pollinize.

 A very decent bike ride in Corsica. I like riding in Italy.  I should really visit.

 I'm still editing through the book.  My cover artist is in the process of moving.  She's saying another 2 weeks maybe.  This is probably a good thing as I'm still finding bits and pieces that I feel need to be changed.  At the same time, I want to put this baby to bed.  I have a bunch of notes on the next book, and I can't wait to start, but I have rule:  never start the actual writing until the last book is published.

And you know, Karma is a real bitch.

As Six and others pointed out, the Asshole held what was supposed to be a roundtable meeting in Wisconsin yesterday but which was ostensibly nothing more than a mini-rally.  He sat through the entire event and then needed assistance taking the one step down off of the stage.  Now, I don't know about you, but it seems to me as if his administration suddenly seems to be ramping up not only his vanity projects, but the 2025 Project as well.  One would almost think they understand how fast time is running out for them.  Could this be why Republicans in both Congress and the Senate are beginning to break from him?

And I'm going to wonder how they're going to handle the June 14 birthday celebration.  I'm suspecting the entire event will be televised with him rambling for an hour and a half sitting behind his desk in the Oval Office.  I'm also willing to be that the only network to carry that event will be Fox News.

The Conservative Aberration

 The temp was 49 (F) when I got up this morning.  Right now my thermostat is registering the temp inside the house at 68 (F).  This means I'm wearing sweatpants and a sweat shirt.  It's still a little too early to turn on the heat, but I figure that day is fast approaching.  As long as the daytime highs are in the mid to upper 70s (F) that will be fine.  Once it gets too chilly willy the heat will be turned on.

So, while much was accomplished on Tuesday, yesterday turned out to be a not-so-productive Wednesday.  Only one load of laundry.  I did get over 1000 words written.  That was nice.  Research for this book has not only led me into the world of feng shui, but also caused me to make a small foray into contracts within the music industry.  It seems as though everyone wants as much credit as they can legally get because that translates into royalty payments.  Take the lawsuit regarding the song Every Breath You Take by The Police.  Both Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers feel they are owed money for their contributions to that famous song and so they are taking Sting to court.  If you want a good chuckle at pettiness, take a look at this lawsuit.

And the orange retailer I work for has decided that I'm going to start working Thursday afternoons, at least for the next few weeks.  This meant changing my workout schedule since normally I get my cardio by riding my bike on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  So now we're changing that up and I'm doing my cardio on Tuesdays and Fridays, with a break on Thursday and strength on Saturday morning.

So the laundry I did yesterday was bed sheets.  Since Howie sleeps on the bed, I have it covered with his "special" sheet.  Yesterday it fell out of the dryer and he thought we'd have a nice game of chase and grab.

And so the shut down continues into day 2.  So, how is it going for the Republicans?  Not good.  How do I know this?  The Washington Post, which is owned by Orangie's crony Jeff Bezos, lead headline was "Most Americans Blame Republicans."  The Washington Post as been at the forefront of sane washing everything Orangie does, so this headline is horrible for the GOP; no one is being kind to them.

Orangie is meeting with Russel Vought, the architect of Project 2025 to discuss what Democratic jobs to cut.  This, in itself, show just how out of touch Conservatives are with the American people.  They are simply refusing to read the room.  The truth is that Conservatives don't care.  They are a group of people who only love power and control.  Taking that away from them is the only thing they will understand.  Keep in mind, understanding for them does not include learning a lesson, in fact, if anything punishment for their atrocities only makes them more determined.  This means normal humans will have to deal with this conservative aberration every few generations in order to keep them in check.

 

How Can This Be

 Well, its 8 in the morning and the outside temps is 49 (F), and we have drizzles.  Showers, if wish to call them that.  Steady and persistent is the weather pattern in store for us today as temperatures continue to fall.  By Wednesday, our overnight low is predicted to be in the upper 20s (F).

I worked yesterday, so not much was accomplished around the house.  No workouts were finished.  No chores accomplished.  I don't know if it was because I realized I had to work, or if it was the weather, which was damp and drizzly all day.  This is, unfortunately what Spring is like, a transitional period filled with occasional partial sunshine, and mostly overcast rainy days.  These are the days, however, that do make the garden grow.

There is something wrong with the keyboard I'm using, which is not the one on the laptop.  The keyboard I use is in the top desk draw and pulls out when I'm writing.  It keeps dropping ds, so I might have to switch it out.  I have several alternative wireless keyboards; I'll have to pick through them and change the bad one out.

I worked yesterday.  It was slow.  Not that I didn't talk to customers, it's just that no one was buying.  I suspect that this is a bad trend that's going to continue.

Of course, this happened yesterday.  This is Hands Off in Harrisburg, PA.

The rough estimate, prior to the rallies held in the western states, was that over 5 million people were protesting.  That's a big bunch of angry people.  This is the type of movement that Conservatives have always avoided thinking about, it's a condition that happens when you're born with out a spine.  You see, for Project 2025 to work the masses need to be complacent.  Disagreement leads to a disruption of their agenda.  They are going to get very angry when things don't go their way.  They will run around shrieking "How Can this Be?!"  In their delusional minds the masses should bow their heads ready for subjugation, except that ain't happenin'.  Prepare yourselves, for they will become distraught and will ramble and rant, gagging out the bitter pieces of the incomprehensible word salad they spit up and all because their simple brains never took anything other than their own desire for power into consideration.  

Or course, the Orange Anus is helping them any.  Word leaking out from his administration is that he's a bitter, angry man who no longer gives a fuck what happens.  The world is not kissing his ass, and for that he's going to make the world pay.

The AK-47

 Boy, is it windy outside.  The temps are fairly mild with the thermometer sitting at 37 (F), but, as I said, we do have gusty weather.  Tonight the temps are predicted to drop as a front moves through and forecasters are calling for basically a smidgen of snow and ice.  I'm not concerned.

I did work yesterday.  Inventory ran late and was just finishing up when I arrived, this was because we had some snow and ice, about the same amount as we're going to get tomorrow.  People will use it as a reason to call off.  I won't.  I don't want to use my personal time unless I have to.  Because of the snow, business was slow, though it did begin to pick up as I was leaving.  And, there was food, though instead of snacks there was fried chicken with salads.  Oh, and lots of cookies.  I love cookies.  I have no idea how good inventory went.  Honestly, I don't really care.

My knew schedule's out.  This is the last week I work over 20 hours.  For the next 3 weeks I'm down to 16 hours a week, only three days.  This is a sign that it's time for me to get back into shape, since I'm going to have all of this time on my hands.  

Since I don't watch TV, there have evidently been a growing number of protests regarding Elonia Musk.  This should have been expected.  In fact, the number of protests is going to grow as Orangie and his boss cut more jobs and spending in order to pay for their big tax cut.  One of the most racists influencers out there is a whiny woman who calls herself Libs of TikTok.  Her whole life is spent inflaming the Cultists, so it's not surprising that she posted this picture.

While Lib the Bimbolina sees this as a way to aggravate the Cultists, most of them don't understand exactly what this picture means:  People are going to start bringing guns.  That's going to piss of the Orange Anus and Elonia since angry people with guns sometimes pull the triggers.  Ouchy.  I told a friend of mine who's a big 2nd amendment supporter that eventually the government was going to begin taking away guns.  I got a LIVID  reaction in Capital Letters.  How will they start trying to confiscate guns?  The 2nd amendment.  You see, the amendment has 2 halves, everyone knows the 2nd half, about the right to bear arms.  No one knows the first half, the part that says "In order to maintain a well regulated militia."  So, I'm thinking that at some point they're going to try and enforce part one, saying that you need to be a member of an official militia group if you want to own a gun.  Of course, that's not going to work.  Just like Project 2025 will only work if they attempt to make America into a Police State.  Unfortunately, we are a country that is armed to the teeth.  For their dream Oligarchy to survive, they need to keep Wall Street intact, unfortunately, no matter what they try and implement, a crash is inevitable.

Trump's Approval set to Sink

 So, here it is Sunday and the outside temp is 25 (F) and we're headed up to the low 40s (F) today.  I can live that.  I don't mind snow, but after the first day or so it's no longer pretty to look at and thanks to the cold temps we've been having, this white stuff has been hanging around longer than needed.  Our future forecast has our daily highs all in the upper 30s (F) to mid 40s (F).  I'm fine with that, too.

After a bit of a difficult start, I did go to work yesterday.  I managed to hit my goal in measures, 3, even though foot traffic is the store was down.  That should keep management happy.  Our inventory is a week from Thursday, and so they want us to be busy working in the aisles, pulling product down from the overhead and restocking our shelves.  Because I'm a specialist and need to be free to work with customers, I can pretty much slough that off.  I'm fine with that.  There are playoff football games on TV today, so things should be slower than usual.

And the difficult thing I had to deal with yesterday before going to work was a dead battery in my car.  That heated my temper up slightly.  There are very few things that get me angry at my age, and a dead battery is not one of them.  Mostly, it was a terrible inconvenience.  What was most irritating was that it's only a little over a year old.  My neighbor across the street gave me a jump and I drove it to the dealership.  They gave me a loaner to use until Monday.  Even with the cold temps we've been having, that battery shouldn't have held a charge.  Anyway, here's pic of the loaner.  It's white.  I really do hate white cars.  

And did anybody catch our morally degenerated felon of a president rambling in California?  The man is a blithering idiot.  Who's in charge?  I have no freaking idea.  He's putting the Project 2025 plans in to play, but I suspect someone is telling what he needs to do, one of his sycophants no doubt; the same one who hands him Executive Orders and a Sharpie.

Many conservatives have this fascination with Putin and how he runs Russia.  To them, he is a great role model for running an authoritarian government.  Like I've said before, mostly what they want to do is shriek "Shut up!  We're in charge!"  What they don't understand is that Putin spent years playing the part of "Nice Vlad" to put himself in the position he is; his PR was constant.  Xi of China did the same thing.  Each one of those authoritarians had a majority of the population supporting them.  This is not the case with the Orange Anus.  He started this term with only a 49% approval rating.  For him to have even a moderately successful authoritarian presidency he needs to improve that bigly, however instead of concentrating raising his ratings he's doing what that minority group of conservatives want him to do, and that's shriek "Shut up!  I'm in Charge!"  Conservatives, instead of taking the time to make their hardline agenda more palatable are simply using Orangie to shove it down the throats of a majority of Americans.  No one every said they were smart.

The Rally

 And we have soaking rain.  What we were supposed to get yesterday arrived sometime in the early morning hours.  Temps are expected to climb into the upper 90s (F) and that means our humidity is going to skyrocket.  We're under heat advisories for the next 3 days.  I looked at the weather forecast and reminded myself that we are not quite halfway through the summer season.  One thing on the report that I did find surprising was that, thanks to wildfires out west, our sunsets might be more colorful.

Many chores were finished yesterday.  I felt really good.  Because I have to work this afternoon, not so much will be finished.  

I did get a 7 mile ride in yesterday, that took me 55 minutes.  Why so long, you ask?  Well, it was all up hill, with an average 3% grade.  As a result, I got in a nice leg workout.  I hate hills, but in life, there are times when they are necessary.

Over 25,000 words has been written for The Body in History, which means I'm a third of the way through the first draft.   I'm pleased.  I really like the characters in this one, from the British poetess, to the German real estate investor and his wife.  The more I write, the more complex my characters become.  Since it takes place in Greece, Delphi to be precise, one of my editors asked me if the gods were going to come into play.  I replied with a question.  "What do you think?"

Kamala had a rally down in Georgia last evening.  The place was packed.  The former Lieutenant Governor, a Republican, said he has never seen so much excitement.  There were a lot of people there!

Not surprising, there was no one there wearing a weird little hat, or a weird little costume.  Nope.  This was just a lot of normal Americans bent on putting the weird Republican party into the past tense.  A brutal change is coming for the Republicans.  Perhaps if they had taken the time to try and even remotely understand America, but no, the only thing they've ever been interested in is saying "shut up! we're in charge!"

The director for Project 2025 stepped down yesterday.  This was done with a modicum of fanfare with the loyal Trumpist media outlets trying to turn it into a big thing.  Don't believe it.  Project 2025 has not been shelved, or even put on the back burner.  It's simply been relabeled Plan 47, at least that, or something quite similar has taken Project 2025's place on Orange Anus' website.  Believe me, this monstrosity ain't going away.  This is just another Republican lie.  Make sure no one forgets this.
