Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Living the Dream

We had rain overnight. This is good.  We are in the hole when it comes to precipitation.  According to Accuweather we are entering a rainy period and, again, this good.  Temps are not expected to vary much from lows in the mid 30s (F) to highs in the mid 40s (F).  Could we be in a holding pattern until winter zooms in, or is this winter going to be like fit in the pattern we've been in for the the past 5 years?  Were the colder temps of last year an exception.  I'm betting so.  I've always felt that climate change was going to change the eastern seaboard of the United States into a rain forest.

Yesterday was fine.  Several loads of laundry were washed and I got in a decent bike ride back in Corsica.  That ride has become one of my favorites.  There are hills I use to get my cardio up, and valleys that help take the stress off of my legs.

Today's has already been busy.  I've got a loaf of bread in the works, and I'm about to run upstairs and throw a load of laundry into the washer.  My reminder that I've got a workout schedule has just flashed across my watch.

Since The Body in 4:4 Time takes place in Laurel Lakes, Eli and Max's stomping grounds, I have the ability of reprising several characters from my first book.  Margaret Stanley, the matriarch of Laurel Lakes puts in an appearance, as well as Henderson, the red-headed police detective.  And, not surprising, he is still just as much of a prick who is quite unhappy that murder happened outside of his jurisdiction.

Howie's living his dream of Play Hard, Sleep Hard.

Of course, bot the House of Representatives and the Senate voted on the Epstein files directive yesterday and it passed overwhelmingly.  Now it's waiting for the Orange Anus to sign it into law.  Do not hold your breaths waiting.  He's already put a delay on it, saying that he wouldn't sign it while the murderous Saudi prince was in Washington.  And after this excuse, there will be another.  Orangie is not happy.  While the GOP will publicly stand behind him, the fact that they had their asses handed to them during November's elections has not gone unnoticed.  They understand that the Orange Anus was the main reason they lost so badly.  Orangie is no longer Teflon Don.  As someone who was alive when Teflon first made its appearance on pots and pans, I can tell you it wasn't that great.  After a certain amount of use, it began to scratch and peel away.  Within one to two years you needed to throw out that pot or pan because everything began sticking.  And Orangie?  Because his popularity is failing like a stone in a pond, he has become a terrible liability.  The truth Republicans don't want to face is that the longer he delays signing the legislation, the more they will have to deal with his failing approval rating.  Orangie is in the process of destroying the Republican party because they actually believed their own propaganda.

Frankenstein

We're a bit warmer this morning, so I suppose the Arctic Blast and moved on to some other place.  This doesn't mean that the day is going to get much warmer than the 39 (F) the outside temp was when I woke up.  Clouds are supposed to hang around for the entire day.  Tomorrow our daily high is supposed to be back up in the 50s (F).  Next week, however, we'll be setting back into more seasonal temps with daily highs in the upper 40s (F).

Yesterday was a pretty busy day.  Besides laundry, much was accomplished.  I went to PetSmart and bought Howie a new harness (he grew out of the old one) and a new toy, which has a handle on each end so we can play tug of war.  Laundry was done.  I cut up 6 pork loins and made jerky, it's delish.  And got in a 50+ minute bike ride.

Capping off a busy day, last night I watched Frankenstein.  If you can, I highly recommend you watch this quite good adaptation of Mary Shelly's book.  This film succeeds on every level.  I honestly had no idea what to expect when I turned it on, though social media has been going bonkers for it.  Rather than use CGI, del Toro had the sets built.  The costumes are lavishly beautiful.  And the acting?  Superb.  Jacob Elordi is simply magnificent.  If you think you're going to be watching some update, glorified horror film you're wrong.  This is a complicated film where you will actually have to think about what you're seeing.  This is what movies are supposed to do.

So, the House of Representatives may or may not be coming back into session today.  Will the government shut down end?  Possibly.  Those Democrats who are seen as caving to the Republicans are getting a boatload of shit from America's Democrats.  As I said before, caving should lead to the release of the Epstein files, but then we don't know what the administration has been doing behind closed doors.  Kash Patel has said that the DOJ had people working on scrubbing Orangie's name from the files, though it's not just written text they have to contend with, but lots of video testimony.  Will they use AI to alter testimony?  You can bet your bottom dollar they will.  Remember, there was a time when the Republican party had some shred of values, but not any more.  They shit those away when they shit away their ethics, and their morals, and their compassion, though they've always lacked on that to certain degree.  Anyway, today will be interesting.

Just Call Me Tactless

Well, we have 54 (F) outside and partial sunshine.  Our high today is supposed to make it up to 70 (F).  If it does, at least according to the weather forecasters, this will be the warmest temps will get for quite some time.  Yes, autumn is in the air.  We had a lot of rain yesterday, not buckets, but constant drizzles and showers, enough to pond the parking lot of the orange retailer I work for.  Today, those showers are gone.

My first load of laundry for the day is in the washer.  Shirts.  They drying rack is fine for some articles of clothing, but certain things, like shirts and pants, need to go through the dryer otherwise you will need to iron them.  When I was young, everything needed to be ironed.  Clothes would go from the clothesline to the ironing board.  And since damp clothing irons better than dry clothing, you would need to sprinkle water on whatever it was you were ironing in order to iron out all of the wrinkles.  Am I like the only person who sees redundancy in this?  Now imagine doing this for a family of four or five.  Damn!

And I did work yesterday.  And even though the store was slow, the flooring department was hopping, at least until I punched in, then everything came to a standstill.  I did cover the paint department while the associate went to dinner, where I had an interesting experience with a tall, young man.  As I gave him his paint, he said he like to give me something.  Reaching into his back pocket he pulled out a small Jesus card.  I glanced at it and handed it back to him, saying, "you can keep it, I don't believe that shit."  He got red in the face and muttered, "you better, it's going to happen," just loud enough for me to hear him as he walked away.  I have friends who are very religious, my friend Jon, the Physical Therapist, for example, and I respect their belies and they respect mine.  I've talked to a number of people about this and it seems that everyone of them has reached the tipping point.  Whereas before they would accept the cards, now they hand them back saying, "no thanks."  I did the same thing, but with a little less tact.

For those who don't know, this is what Gaza looks like.

Yesterday Orangie and Nasty Netty, with the Hamas, officiated Biden's Peace Plan to stop the fighting in Gaza.  Why wasn't Biden's plan signed earlier?  Because Orangie and Nasty Netty put their two vile heads together at Mar a Lago after the election and decided to put it on hold, hoping to use it to their advantage at a later date.  That date happened yesterday.  However, one point missing in the plan is the fact that there is not one sentence stating that the Israelis are going to stop the shooting, and the bombing.  It's a starting agreement which has a few flaws.  You can bet that Nasty Netty is going to take advantage of everyone of those flaws.  You see, Nasty was on trial for corruption until Hamas attacked on October 7, then his trial was put on hold.  Peace would restart Nasty's trial, so one thing you can bet on is that this Peace Plan will fall apart before that happens.

Bad Bunny Rocks

Tuesday has arrived.  The weather outside is a bit Fallish.  For some reason I slept late, until close to 0700, and that is unusual.  Normally I rise and shine around 0600.  This is what happens when you don't use an alarm clock.  And outside our temps are cool, sitting in the low 60s (F).  Forecasters are predicting a high in the low 80s (F).  I don't think that will be happening.  Tomorrow's high is only supposed to be in the low is only supposed to be in the low 70s (F), so I'm wagering that those cooler temps will be arriving sooner rather than later.

I always start doing the weeks laundry on Tuesday, and I'm proud to say that my first load is finishing up the wash cycle and ready to head into the spin cycle.  Because there is zero chance of precipitation, I'll be using my drying rack outside for several of today's loads of wash.  I'm going to take advantage of the fair weather for as long as it lasts.

And I did work yesterday.  A large sale went through in lumbar, probably a vast amount of plywood, somewhere around $38,000 worth, so the store had no problem making plan.  That's good news, though that type of sale is a rarity.  Also you need to keep in mind that one single day's sales do not make the week, and that sluggish sales over the next 6 days will still keep you from making your plan.

During yesterday's workout, I did squats, by far my least favorite exercise.  Having your quads scream in pain when you go up and down the stairs is by far the worst part of leg work.  However, I have to admit that so far today the discomfort is minimal, so something must be going right.

And as expected, white conservatives are losing their proverbial shit over Bad Bunny doing the Super Bowl's Half Time show.  Can you hear me laughing?

Now, I will readily admit to never having listened to his music.  This is because I listen to mostly alternative rock and roll, and we do tend to stick with our genres.  However, I did have to laugh at all of the white conservatives with so many of them shrieking he wasn't American.  How can they define their ignorance in such a blatant way?  Puerto Rico is an American Territory, so Puerto Ricans are born American Citizens.  I suspect that a large part of their problem is that he's outspoken about his dislike for the Orange Anus, and has called Orangie worse things than Anus.  Mostly his songs are in Spanish, though he does include English in some of them.  That's a big part of their problem.  I work with people whose own grasp of the English language is questionable at best, still that does not stop them from fuming angrily at others who have an accent.  The truth is that there are some white people who look for a reason to judge someone else as inferior, and skin color and language are two of their top reasons.

And is the government going to shut down?  Let's hope the Democrats have enough of a spine to force Orangie to crap in his diaper.  Republicans don't understand that with Orangie's approval rating already so low, this will end up being a losing ticket for them.  This, while being a bad thing, is a good thing.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go dial up some Bad Bunny on Spotify.

Fantastic Four

Good Morning people!  Our high temp for today has been revised... down.  Our high for today is only predicted to be 96 (F), which means the little red thermometer indicating heat warning is no longer in our forecast.  Now, isn't that nice?  We have a 40% chance of thunderstorms.  Tomorrow that % is up where our high temp was supposed to be today.  If the weathermen are right, Thursday and Friday will be filling up our rain gauges again.

Yesterday was one of the meh days that substitute as Tuesdays.  When I bought my car the dealership recommended I make an appointment with their tech expert in order for her to go over all of the functions and apps on my car.  I cancelled.  The differences between what I had in the Crosstrek and what I now have in the Outback are not that different.  In fact, in today's world of computerized automobiles I suspect there isn't really much difference between one model and the next, so a Ford, or General Motors vehicle is going to have the same apps as a Subaru.

So far today has been much more productive than yesterday.  The first load of laundry has been washed and hung out on the rack to dry, and the second load is in the washer.  One thing I need to do when hanging clothes out to dry is use clothes pins, otherwise Howie will pull T-shirts and shorts off the rack and run around the yard with them in his mouth.  The bread machine is kneading a loaf of bread; I included some wheat flour since I still have about 3 pounds left.

I went to see Fantastic Four, First Steps last evening.  I liked it a lot.  I have been a fan since the series came out, yes, I am that old.  One of the main reasons was Johnny Storm. What was not to like about a blonde teenager who was so hot he could set himself on fire?  Joe Quinn does not disappoint, even though his Johnny Storm is much older than a fourteen year old boy.  Pedro puts in a great performance as well playing Reed, a man who can stretch his body, but who's logic is much less flexible.

Supposedly the economy grew by 3% which was higher than most economists were predicting.  Before everyone gets out their rah rah pom poms and starts dancing around, we have to remember that this administration has no problem fudging the books in a way to make themselves look good.  We also need to ask ourselves how much of this growth was the result of pre-emptive buying?  You know?  Like me and my new car?  You do know that one of the main reasons for my purchase was the impending price increases brought by tariffs.  So, you need to ask yourselves how many other people are just like me?  Buying when the price is right.  I've already suggested that might be why high priced installations are being purchased.  I don't doubt that there are quite a number of Americans who would rather buy now and save later.

And of course, Orangie did say some truly vile things yesterday about Epstein stealing two of his spa workers.  This is the 3rd reason that he's given for their breakup.  Another was that he discovered his pal Jeffy was having rather unsavory relations with very young women.  The reason most likely to be true was that his pal gypped him on a real estate deal.  Since we all know how long Orangie holds grudges, I would say that is possibly the real reason his friend was arrested and was murdered committed suicide while Orangie was in office.  There are whispers that it was Ghislaine's team that leaked the birthday book to the Wall Street Journal.  Could she be out for a little vengeance?  If this is the case, I wouldn't doubt if she has a veritable treasure trove of dirt on Orangie.

Fox Entertainment

So, we're in the middle of mini heat wave.  Temps are going to be in the high 90s (F) both today and tomorrow.  Right now our outside temp is 74 (F) with a "real feel" of 85 (F).  I did a search to find out how "real feel" is calculated and it's a combination of heat, humidity, wind, and.... get this... solar intensity.  Solar intensity is measured in watts per square meter.  In reality, I don't doubt that someone stands outside for a few minutes and, upon coming back into air conditioned comfort and, ignoring the reading on the thermometer, says "wow!  that feels like 85 (F)."

I did work yesterday and it was slow.  Only myself and an aisle associate were scheduled.  I did talk to a few people, but mostly chatty conversations about old houses, and which floor leveler was best for a wood floor.  Usually I take something for dinner when I'm working that shift, yesterday I didn't thinking there would something left over from the weekend and there was:  yogurt.

Since this is my first day off, my first load of laundry is in the washer.  Rather than use the dryer, it will be hung out to dry on the rack, however because we're supposed to have high humidity, it may take a long time to dry.  This means it might be the only load for the day

The picture of Max the cat which was posted yesterday was actually scheduled for today's post.  A bit on Max.  I got him when he was 8 weeks old and he lived to be 21 years old.  He's the only pet I've had who's buried here.  He was a good cat, and is the namesake for Maxwell Sullivan, one of the main protagonists in my books.

So today, instead of Max, you're going to get a picture of Harrisburg.  This was taken from a drone looking east.  My house is located to the left and behind the camera.  The island in the middle of the picture is City Island.  A long time ago, before they built the baseball stadium, they used to have concerts there.  I saw, among other groups, The Grateful Dead there... twice.

Isn't it fascinating how even without the Orange Anus's tariffs kicking in, prices are still going up.  Many people don't know that a lot of them are on hold because TACO.  Supposedly, according  to that horse's ass Howard Lutnick (notice I didn't say Nutlick) they're officially starting on August 1st.  This is interesting because Chinese sources are saying that an extension  has already been agreed to because TACO.

And I read that Orangie wants Rupert Murdoch to be deposed within the next 2 weeks because Orangie is worried Murdoch, who's 94, might die.  Orangie better hope that Rupert lives as long as possible because when he dies control of Fox entertainment goes to all of his children.  Except for Lachlin Murdoch, all of Rupert's children hate Fox Entertainment. so with his death great changes may happen there.  Changes not to Orangie's liking.

Trump and the AI

My, didn't that weekend zip by so fast?  Outside, our temps are a comfortable 71(F).  That's fine with me.  Even better, there is not a drop of rain predicted in today's forecast and our high temp is only supposed to be in the mid 80s (F).  We have the same forecast for tomorrow.  This is quite doable.

My first load of laundry for the week is done and is hanging out on the drying rack.  I've not been able to do this for some time because of the frequent rains we've been getting  The less I use my dryer in the summer, the happier I am.  My only issue is with the mosquitoes.  The instant I stepped out the door I was swarmed.  The way I see it I have 2 choices:  wear sweatpants outside during the summer, or invest in some insect repellent.  Were I one of those people who spends hours and hours outside then a bug zapper would also be put into that mix, however I'm only outside a few hours a week so buying one would be a waste of money.

Work yesterday was slow.  Our plan has been lowered for the summer so we might have hit it.  I wasn't really paying that much attention.  On days when it's slow, I go into wordpad and write.  Somedays I can get quite a lot of words written.  Yesterday was one of them.

There was a charge for an additional line on my T-Mobile account this morning.  If they're going to charge me for an additional line and the $55 a month for the internet, this no long becomes a good deal.  I will have to talk to them in order to get this issue resolved.

Overnight Orangie has been posting different AI videos of Obama getting arrested, or in jail epitomizing how much he truly hates our first black president.  I find it interesting that he has always put a token black person in his cabinet and that token usually ends up being a corrupt Christian, an individual who believes he was put into that position to get as much free shit as possible.  Orangie does this in an attempt to influence people of color, hoping they run out and vote for him.  Sadly, there are people dumb enough to believe this, but then there are a large number of dumb people in Ameica and a majority of them are white.

One of the things that went through my head when I saw that JD Vance met with Murdoch in a hush hush meeting was succession.  Now I'm seeing more and more people are looking at that and thinking the same thing.  Could that be why Vance is out of the country so much on vacation, so that he's clean when it comes to not only the Epstein shit, but everything else that's piling up on Orangie?  The big, beautiful bill has already been signed into law, so at this point Orangie is useless.  Vance is far less popular among the cultists than Orangie, and this Epstein shit show has really begun to divide them.  Hhhmm.  Interesting.

Oh... Shit!

Wow! it's 61 (F) outside.  That's cool for an August morning.  The high today is supposed to be in the very low 80s (F).  That's fine.  The prediction is for us to be in the same weather pattern for at least the next week.  That's nice, too.  While we've had some hot days this summer, we've lucked out if you compare us to the rest of the country, places that were sitting at 100 (F) of hotter for days on end.  It would have been nicer of the rain had been spread out a little more, rather than happen in a 24 hour period.  I had customers yesterday, who live a few miles away from me; they told me the rain gauge in their backyard was at 12 inches.

The closing Olympic ceremonies were last evening.  I didn't watch them, since I figured they'd be rather standardized for all those viewers who hate innovation.  Besides, I knew Tom Cruise was going to be participating and... well... blah.  That man is so weird, I'm sure he must be a Republican.

My first load of laundry has just finished and I was going to let it dry outside, but decided to hang in on the dryer in the laundry room instead.  I work today, and it isn't that I'd have a problem with my wash hanging outside all day, I just didn't want to have to take it down off the rack when I get home this evening.

And management should be happy with me, I got 2 measures and a lead yesterday.  One of the measures is for blinds and after I'd set it up, the customers told me they were leaving for Ohio Tuesday evening... and not coming back.  They're going to be renting the house in Mechanicsburg.  Lucky for me, we've begun a system where the customer can design their own blinds at home and then pay for them.  There's no need for them ever to come back into the store.  The large orange, home improvement retailer I work for loves when we do things like this; it saves on payroll hours.

Donnie Dementia posed this on failing Truth Social media platform yesterday.

Someone asked if he was the whiniest bitch in America.  Honestly, I don't know about that, but he certainly is the loudest.  His dementia is certainly present in the above post, especially in his "later confirmed by the reflection of the mirror like finish."  His rage has driven him a bit crazy, well, he's always been crazy, it's just that now his rage is now driving the bus.  Every time Harris has a larger crowd, or soaring campaign donations, thousands of little gray brain cells die in that man.  They implode and gush themselves into a soupy, snotty mess that spits out stupidities.  You can practically hear the Independent voters as they step back and say, "oh, shit."

Of course, the Main Stream Media wants this election to be a horserace, and so they refrain from writing about the obvious.  They don't understand that publishing about his mental decline would get them many more clicks than their attempt to create flawed drama regarding the election.  So many people love to rubberneck.  When they see an accident by the side of the road, they slow down as they pass in order to gander a view of the wreckage.  Articles about Donnie's decent into dementia would so much grow their revenue, their billionaire owners' lust for $$$ might even be sated... momentarily.

What's the Buzz

I though yesterday was going to be the end of the hot days, well, I was wrong.  Today's going to be hot, too.  Mid 90s (F) again, with once again the threat of possible thunderstorms this afternoon.  This is pretty standard August weather..

Because it is going to be so hot again today, I'm going to gamble and hang at least some of my laundry out on the rack to dry.  Those high temps will evaporate the moisture rapidly, and my clothes will have that fresh, clean scent.

Our new store manager arrived yesterday, and when he saw me, he gave me a big hug.  We've known each other for over 15 years, and as I've said, he worked to get promoted and I was happy where I was.  While this does give me some access to his ear, I don't expect to be his confidante.  Though I will admit to being more than a little pleased that the Assistant Manager who gave me the difficult time was standing behind me watching the two of us talk.  He smiled bigly.  It doesn't hurt to have him believe his new manager my be sympathetic to my complaints, should I have a few.

And then I saw this:

I just read that JD Vance is the Sarah Palin of Dan Quayles.

Of course, there's a lot buzz going around about RFK finding a dead bear cub alongside the road, tossing into his car thinking he might take it home and cook it.  This man needs to watch what he says to reporters on video.  His following up that comment by telling the reporter he changed his mind and dumped the body in Central Park went over just as poorly.  His then pondering aloud, "I wonder if that's where I got my brain worm?" is not a hallmark of sanity.

And the buzz is that Kamala's chosen her Vice President, and that he knows.  The buzz should be about how well she and her team know how to play the media.  I don't doubt that decision was reached sometime ago, but it pays for her to create tension.  She wants people sitting on the edge of their seats, and that's what they're doing.  Thank you Main Stream Media for making this headline news that takes the attention away from the Orange Anus.  Every second he's not in the headlines is like a bamboo sliver under his fingernails.  This is also a good indicator of how united the Democrats have become.  Everyone is on the team.  This is proven by the VP candidates who are constantly mocking and deriding both Vance and Trump.  They will keep this up and other voices will be joining in.  We are a movement that is growing daily.

The Man with the Glasses

Rain is in the forecast.  The drizzle has already begun.  Temps are predicted to climb into the mid 80s (F), but the humidity will be high.  After today's rains temps will again climb back up into the 90s (F).  While the past 2 summers have been on the cool side, this warmth should have been expected.  The rest of the world is having very hot days, so why should we here in Central PA have to deal with the same thing.

I did have a nice conversation yesterday with my manager regarding the attitude I had to deal with from the other manager on Sunday.  He asked if I got the $4700 sale, and when I told him I did, he said, "that's what's important, making sure the customer is happy."  Of course, getting that sale made him happy.  From what I gather, none of the other managers have much respect for the one who tried to intimidate me, so I'm getting broad smiles and nods from them, while he seems to have made himself invisible.

And, since it's raining, I'm using the dryer today instead of hanging my loads of laundry outside to dry.

Also, after everything I've been posting about the Orange Anus, I thought this might be a decent little palate cleanser.  This is something to be proud of.  I tried posting the video, but NBC Sports has it locked down tight in YouTube, so watch him in action.  His name is Steve Nedoroscik.

Last night there was a zoom call:  White Dudes for Harris.  Over 175,000 men were on that call.  They heard a number of speakers and raised over $4 million for the Harris campaign.  That's a big finger in the eye of the Republican party.  Not surprisingly, the NYT posted an NYT/Sienna poll this morning implying that 75% of men likely to vote were pro Trump.  I hope the irony isn't lost on any of you, since the billionaire owner of the NYT has been pushing a rather obvious pro Trump agenda.  In case you didn't know, it's all about the tax cuts.  The same thing is true about that dufuss Elon Musk, who shut down the White Dudes for Harris Twitter account during the event.  The reason:  The account was suspended for trying to avoid suspension.  Musk wants his tax break, too.

And evidently Leonard Leo, Clarence Thomas' sugar daddy, had a bit of a meltdown over Biden wanting to create forcible ethics rules for the Supreme Court.  I mean, what's a sugar daddy supposed to do if he can't spoil his favorite Oreo boy toy?

Cracked

The first day off of my mid-week weekend and the weather is cool and overcast.  We'll be lucky if the high hits 70 (F) today.

Usually, I begin my weekends playing the part of the Laundry King.  Not today.  Hey, I haven't even sorted the whites from the colors, and the towels are still hanging on the rack.  Am I changing up my routine?  Nah.  I have a plumber (expensive) scheduled for this morning.  You see, I have a crack in my pipe.  Now, I know that sounds bad, and it will be if the pipe breaks, but that's not likely to happen.  There are still a few, small sections of caste iron pipe still remaining in the house.  This section, which is about 5 feet long, is attached to the PVC drainage piping put in decades ago.  Water from the bathroom, kitchen, and washer drains through this pipe.  Today the pipe is getting replaced, and I'm not kidding myself, it will come with a hefty price.

My peaches are the size of walnuts already:

An interesting turn of events is happening in the Pennsylvania GOP primary.  Dave McCormick, who is losing to Oz, the seemingly impotent, by less than 1000 votes is suing to have mail-in ballots counted.  What makes this so very interesting, is that McCormick is one of those candidates who has been pushing the The Big Lie.  Yep!  He's hoping those voters who mailed in their ballots will now save his phony political ass.  At issue are those ballots which don't have a hand-written date on the back of the envelope.  That little bug-a-boo kept ballots from being counted during the 2020 presidential election.  Ouch!  Isn't it funny ho0w that endorsement from the Orange Anus didn't automatically Oz, the impotent, directly into the winners circle.  Mail-in ballots?  Who'd have thunk?

And it appears that an endorsement from Trump isn't nearly what it's cracked up to be.  Take Georgia, in which David Perdue is expected to lose badly.  Now, let me be perfectly clear, there is no way I want to see George go red again, but having the opportunity to watch the Orange Anus and his endorsement basically used as shit paper by Brian Kemp is... somewhat pleasing.  It's kind of like watching him stick the pointy end of the ice cream cone into his eye repeatedly.

A Quiet Day

And so my weekend begins... with UGI digging up the street in front of my house.  Neighbors on the other side of the street are switching to Natural Gas, much less expensive in Central PA than oil.  I can still get out of my driveway should I need to, though garbage collection is going to be set back a day.

Since I have Disney + thanks to my new xbox Series S, I watched Hamilton last evening.  I was surprised by how dynamic the show was.  Seeing the cast perform live must be a truly emotional experience.  We tend to lionize our fore fathers to a point where we forget they were very human, and their lives were quite often far from perfect.

And so what am I going to do on my first day off?  Laundry, of course,  I have five piles lining the hallway, each waiting to head into the wash cycle.  And after working for 6 days straight, I no doubt will also take a nap.  Naps are good.  With the dogs of course.  As we get older, naps become welcome friends.

There's also the new game on my Series S console.  Using the Force is really a lot of fun.  In fact, the more you train with the force, the stronger you get.  If you're really good with the Force, you don't really need anything else.  I know there are some of you who have no interest in games, but here's the release trailer just to give you an idea of how far video games have come.

And as far as the Covid Crisis goes, well, one of the headlines I've seen this morning is that as of this morning, Arkansas only has 8 ICU beds available.  There was also some sort of horseshit about the Governor of Louisiana asking people to pray.  Someone needs to tell that sucker people have been praying to deities year after year, century after century, to no avail.  And then there was this bit about that Losing Governor Abbott of Texas wanting to hire in help from out of state.  Oh, and one hospital in Houston is erecting tents for overflow Covid patients.  Oh, well, I guess this is the price you're going to have to pay when you sell your soul to Loser #45.

Too late to Right the Wrong

Of course today begins my 4 day stretch... no work, no health check, no face mask, except for when I go shopping later this morning.  My laundry routine has commence, the 2nd load is prepped and ready to go.  Outside, the skies are overcast and there is a constant drizzle.  I will probably light some candles to Amun Ra later, not because I believe he exists, rather I do find the idea of lighting candles to a sun god a bit on the exotic side.  Exotic can be good.

Or maybe I'll just settle for making candles.  I have enough wax on hand for three or four.

And I want to get a ride in or a run.  Alternating between the two of the next for days would be great!

I've also been researching PT exercises for my shoulder since my personal care physician at the VA seem more interested in letting her assistant do her work.  What I've also decided to do is switch to the Lebanon VA for my doctor's visits.  I still go to the New Cumberland clinic for my bloodwork and eye care, but everything else will be shifted to a facility with working doctors.

Because the location for the next book is going to be New Orleans, concepts for characters and the way they speak have been bubbling around in my brain.  There will probably be a character named Bianca.  Here's an example of a descriptive sentence which popped into my consciousness while I was showering yesterday morning.  "She spoke slow and forcefully,  her smooth southern accent wrapping the sounds of her syllables tightly around her words, so there was no misinterpretation of meaning."  Now, ain't that nice?

Oh, and evidently John Boehner's book is filled with obscenities.  He is angry.  Loser #45 is to blame for everything.  Oh, no John, the GOP is sitting on the left side of Satan because of you.  You, and your spray-on tan were the loud voice of the party of NO.  Now you swill your wine and point your finger at others, doing what you, yourself, as well as every other Republican has done:  Blame someone else.  It's too late to try and right your wrong.

The Phone Call

And a very good Monday Morning to you.  I know I'm fine, but then I don't have to work today.  There are chores galore, though that always seems to be the case.  Laundry is stacked and ready to be washed.  The shorts, and shirts, and socks I use for cycling (and now jog /walking) get washed separately with a detergent specifically designed for their fabrics.  They are not casual wear.

Yesterday, a fellow associate and I dealt with a customer who had purchased a Peloton (pieces of shit bike, as I call them).  Concern about putting it on her plush carpet in her office / training room is driving her to distraction.  She does something with orthopedics and at one point spoke of her concern about insuring her new, fake bike was level and her concern of blowing out her knee if it wasn't.  At least that's what I think she was talking about since her vocabulary switched to Medical Jargonese.   I do not doubt for a second, that given the chance, she would turn a minor knee injury into major reconstructive surgery requiring months of physical therapy.  And a scar, of course.

I do plan to go for a ride today, though I haven't a clue where it will be.

And then, of course, there was the phone call yesterday.  Remember when the substance of phone calls was... well, rather naïve in relation to yesterday's call.  How many future Broadway dancers can you pick out in this video.

The recording of yesterday's call between the Idiot Jerk and Ken Rafensberger is crackling over the airwaves.  Can we talk about sedition here?  And every faction of the GOP is picking up their little, backstabbing knives.  The party is chewing off their own feet, and legs, and arms.  The party is tearing itself apart.  Good.  They deserve every second of bad publicity they get.  And as for the call to Kenny?  Don't worry, I do not doubt that at some point in time it will be put to music, with lyrics something like this:

Hey Kenny, how's it hanging?
Get me votes, help me score
Did you hear that those ballots were rigged?
Dominion
Is Crooked
And they're working for Hugo Chavez
who's dead, but
maybe not
Ken I need you to get me some votes
Just fake them,
Just find them
Ken I need you  need you to help me to win.

The Fun Stuff

Well, it's another lazy sleep in Sunday, the best way to begin my 3 days weekend.

Now, don't get me wrong, I do have chores to do, laundry.  Being the clothes horse I am, laundry is always essential.  Still, I do have 3 days in which to do every blessed load.  (That's pronounced bless - ed.  Believe me, the only deity blessing my undies is the holy Arm and Hammer).  That's right, I don't use Tide (y) on my white (ies).  There, isn't that bad for a Sunday morning?  Don't think about it too long.

The weather is being... nice.  Originally rain was in the forecast for today, we got the drizzlies yesterday.  Since that has already happened, we're due for some low 80's sunshine.  I'm hoping the stanky heat of the summer is now over.

I watched "Project Power" last evening with Jamie Fox and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.  I found it entertaining, though some of those 5 minute super power pills lasted a little longer than 5 minutes.  I checked and was surprised to see that Gordon-Levitt is 39 years old.  Damn!  Seeing kid actors age before my eyes is... strange.  If they were to make a movie out of any of my books, at least for right now, I think he'd make a good Eli.

Because the weather is so nice, I have the back door open.  The dogs can go in and out when ever they fancy.  They like that.  I like that.  No getting up and having to open the door every time they see a bunny or a squirrel.  We're going for a walk later this morning.  This is the fun stuff of life.

Later on I may bake a blueberry cobbler... or possibly for dinner a zesty Kung Pao Chicken.  Both are yummy!

In Control

Saturday.  Today is the beginning of my weekend which means it's time to catch up on the housework.  I've got one load of laundry (T-shirts... I go through a lot of T-shirts) in the washer and four more lining the upstairs hallway.  I need to pick up somethings at the supermarket and get gas before everybody else tries to do the same thing.  The yard needs to be cleaned.  I should do free weights today, but I might try to get another ride in since that's what kicks in the neurotransmitters.
Yesterday there was an indecisive family looking at vinyl plank flooring.  I greeted them and spent about 5 minutes with them before I left them alone with their inabilities.  This was obvious when the daughter started saying "this goes with my cabinets, but this color goes with my appliances, but this color over here would really go well with my walls."  When she started bringing up her friends, and using the floors in their kitchens as a comparison, I knew her brain had become completely untethered from reality.
And speaking of untethered... how about those advertisers running from Laura Ingraham... ain't that sweet!  She's decided she needs an 'Easter Break.'  If you ask her, I'm sure she'll tell you that eleven companies pulling their advertising from Faux News has nothing to do with her decision.  Nope, she'll explain how she's chosen this week to make room for her family, right in the middle of a boycott.  Ingraham is a prime example of how Conservatives totally fail to understand America.  A majority of people are telling her advertisers she's an asswipe, and those advertisers are listening because that majority is the group that buys their products.  When given the choice of losing revenue or telling Faux News that Laura Ingraham is an asswipe, they're going to tell Faux News she's an asswipe.  Will she learn anything?  Absolutely not.  She hates the majority.  Having them very publicly telling Faux News she's an asswipe?  That's like having millions of Liberal needles shoved up under her phony, conservative fingernails. She will hate the majority even more because they... are... in... control.
I just find this whole thing amusing as hell.
Anyway, I seem to post more pictures of Big Seig than Lily, so today I'll leave you with one of the lovely Lady Lillian.

With just a glimmer of Biggie's back.
