Bluntness

I've also been told I have little tact, so if this offends you simply ride on.

Many, Many, Many

Thursday.  Another heat advisory.  Temps to climb into the upper 90s (F).  Humid.   Also, there is again the threat of possible, maybe heavy thunderstorms this afternoon.  My lawn is oh, so brown, as is everybody else's lawn.

There was a woman in the flooring department yesterday who said "we're buying a house."  She followed that up with "we're going to be putting in new carpet, but only in one room for now."  Then she and her granddaughter threw about 20 carpet samples into their cart.  I did question her trying to find out details, like closing date.  That's important since a lot of customers what the carpet installed before they move their furniture in... she, however, was vague.  So, she may be buying a house, or she may be wanting to buy a house.  Believe me, there are a lot of wanters who just want to pick up many, many, samples.

And, in spite of the fact that I worked yesterday, I did get much accomplished in those hours I spent at home, including a very sticky 2.5 mile walk at Adams Ricci.

There is much to be done today, as well, including the moving prep I need to do get the rooms ready for my new windows.  I was quite surprised yesterday when Amanda from Aspin Home Improvements texted me that windows were arriving today.  She wondered if they could install them on Friday, and I said sure, as long as the installation would be completed by 5 PM.  No problem, she texted back.  So, my new windows are being installed tomorrow.  That's one less thing I need to think about before Greece.

And I think this is quite apropos.

So, yesterday the Orange Anus was asked to participate in a discussion with the National Association of Black Journalists and he accepted.  He arrived on stage late and claimed it was because the NABJ had technical difficulties.  It turned out that the technical difficulties were his objections to fact checking.  When he did finally make it onto the stage, his appearance was cut short by his team because these journalists were having none of his shit.  Rachel Scott asked specific questions and Trump spewed lies, or as the WaPo said, "many, many falsehoods."  Let's be honest, if it weren't for his lies, he'd have nothing.

Then, later at a rally held in Harrisburg, a large screen over the stage had a picture of Kamala with the headline "America's first Indian Senator."  As someone said, this might please his cultists, but to many, many Independent voters this is bad.  If Independent voters were racists conservatives, they wouldn't be Independents, they'd be Republicans.  This is also a sign of the GOP's desperation.  If the only cards in their hand they have to play are the race and gender cards, their hand's poor and this is the only way they think they can keep from losing.

  1. Oh, DonOld is going with Birtherism 2.0 for $500, Ken. He's a racist asshole and will forever be one. NABJ kinda fucked up with their both-siding (and DonOld apparently demanded that Black woman -true DEI hire- who works for Faux News be in the panel) and got what they wanted: a white man telling a Black woman that a woman is not Black in front of a Black audience. Shitshow.
    I want that t-shirt, btw.
And I did not want people could walk away with carpet samples? What will they use them for???

    XOXO

    1. I saw that clip and heard the anger in the audience, so even though that may be what Team Trump wanted, they weren't expecting the anger. Carpet samples make nice coasters.

  2. Republicans will find their racist and misogynistic rants will be their end.
They go on about Kamala’s ethnicity while insulting their own constituents who are non- white.
Then again anyone with any moral fiber and sense of decency wouldn’t vote Republican to begin with. -Rj

    1. All they care about is power, nothing else can compare to their craving to dictate and rule with an iron fist.

  3. The Kamala shirt is quite awesome and glad to hear that your windows are one less thing you have to worry about before your trip to Greece.

    1. I'm sure, with a little searching, you could find one of those shirts online. And I was concerned about the windows, since they couldn't tell me when they'd be installed.

  4. Rachel Scott needs to teach a masterclass in journalism to the folks at CNN.
